    i hope i'm just doing something wrong here. Ideally i'm trying to open the connection, open a transaction execute a ton of prebuilt sqlstatements (with parameters) against this connection then close the connection. ideally all in the same batch. It's easy enough to wrap this all in a for loop, however i'd like to use the forEach function of the list generic to set the connection as it'll probably be faster than my implementation of calling List.Item(i) in the loop but i get some strange errors.     We have a fairly simple program that's used for creating backups. I'm attempting to parallelize it but am getting an OutofMemoryException within an AggregateExcption. Some of the source folders are quite large, and the program doesn't crash for about 40 minutes after it starts.     Has anyone been able to communicate using WCF on Windows Phone Series 7 emulator? I've been trying for the past two days and it's just happening for me. I can get a normal Silverlight control to work in both Silverlight 3 and Silverlight 4, but not the phone version. When I searched, I found Spam Assassin, which they say is used as sapm filters in many mail servers. Can I create a spam tester using Spam Assassin? Another option I found is one Litmus API, which is a paid service. Is there any options other than these two? Freeware is more preferred. My project is a J2EE web application using Spring.

    OK, Im trying to highlight keywords in a richtextbox, the problem is I've got the code to highlight only the visible text on textChanged event,so I tryed putting the code in the richtextbox VScroll, so when I scrolled up it would highlight the text that wasn't visible before, but every time I start to scroll I get this error: "An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll" Does any one know why? Or maybe a way I could highlight the words while scrolling?     I know i could program it myself but maybe there is a simple (thats the keyword) package. I like to add a box, snippet, form or page to my site for users to input their email address. Then i'd like it to automatically send email saying you have successfully subscribe. I'd want an unsubscribe link and i would be using smtp on google apps. I would like to send email with html so i can have a simple sentence with a complex link such as this I dont know if i'll get marked as spam if i try to send everyone an email at once? so i'd like the software to manage it. Also i'd like to get the emails in a simple format like csv. Is there a simple app that does this? if not i can write a simple form which does a simple insert (or delete when unsubscribing) and write a 200-300line app to send my emails out for me.

I choose Haskell because I had the impression that it is very purely functional, and wouldn't allow for any reliance on state. I did not choose to learn Haskell because I was interested in navigating an extremely rigid type system. My question is this: Is a strong type system a necessary by-product of an extremely pure functional language, or is this an unrelated design choice particular to Haskell? If it is the latter, I'm curious what would be the most purely functional language that is dynamically typed. I'm not particularly opposed to strong typing, it has its place, but I'm having a hard time seeing how it benefits me in this educational endeavor.

  • How should I safely send bulk mail? [closed]

    First of all, we have a large software system we've developed and have a number of clients using it in their own environment. Each of them is responsible for using their own equipment and resources, we don't provide any services to share with them. We have introduced an automated email system which sends emails automatically via SMTP. Usually, it only sends around 10-20 emails a day, but it's very possible to send bulk email up to thousands of people in a single day. This of course requires a big haul of work, which isn't necessarily the problem. The issue arises when it comes to the SMTP server we're using. An email server is issued a number of relays a day, which is paid for. This isn't really necessarily the issue either. The risk is getting the email server blacklisted. It's inevitable, and we need to carefully take all this into consideration. As far as I can see, the ideal setup would be to have at least 50 IP addresses on multiple servers, each of which hosts its own SMTP server. When sending bulk email, it will divide them up across these servers, and each one will process its own queue. If one of those IP's gets blacklisted, it will be decommissioned and a new IP will replace it. Is there a better way that doesn't require us to invest in a large handful of servers? Perhaps a third party service which is meant exactly for this?

  • Maven 2.1.0 not passing on system properties to Java virtual machine

    We use the command line to pass on system properties to the Java virtual machine when running our Hudson builds on a Linux box. It used to work quite well in 2.0.9 by since we upgraded to 2.1.0 it has stopped working altogether. The system properties just never make it to the Java virtual machine. I have created a small test project and indeed it does not work at all. I have attached it in case you want to give it a go. Basically, someone is using my email account to mass send spam. I really can't deal with having my hosting account suspended and my email account sending all this spam.

  • Best way to setup multiple sites' emails in my Gmail

    I've a dozen sites and I want all of their emails come to my one gmail id and I want to reply centrally from Gmail only. I've also added all of those emails in "send email as:" list in Gmail. I could add email forwarders in my Cpanel but in that case I'll not be able to send email whose inboxes haven't been created( for example [email protected]). If I create email account then I'd receive emails in my inbox as well as forwared by the forwarder( to my gmail id). Otherwise I can setup Gmail for my domain. But for a dozen emails I'm not sure if that'd be fine. I see in http://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/pricing.html that for up to 10 emails it is free. But then to send email from webhosting the php code will need SMTP login details and leaving my important gmail account details in my webhosting account is very risky given my sites have been compromised twice. What is the best way to centralize all my emails so that I can read/reply/search from single place?

    i have an ubuntu network machine which has release of 10.04.1 LTS Lucid. on this system i have apache, postgresql and django. for some app. development i have to install php and php-curl... due to being on network, i have exported wmvare machine to internet and firstly i have upgraded system and then install php5 packages on it. After all replacing it with its old place, i have considered that the new system query is some slow according to another. Old system query time : 140 ms New system query time : 9.11 s i have checked /etc/network interface and it seems there is no problem. i have checked /etc/resolv.conf and it seems ok i have checked /etc/nsswitch.conf and only host section is different from old one which old system has hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4 and then i have checked time host -t A services.myapp.com and i got real 0m0.355s user 0m0.010s sys 0m0.020s and now what can i have to check for boosting my system as before?

I can't use my ISP SMTP mailer, they will block me immediately for bulk mailing. I thought of a way to send emails slowly . Like dividing them in sets of few thousands and sending to each set daily . Will it be fine solution ?
