  I have server with NSD. There are MAIN_IP and ADD_IP. When I try to get IP of my site from server I have right output dig @localhost my_site.com But when I try to make this from my PC, I have dig @my_ns_server.com my_site.com ;; reply from unexpected source: MAIN_IP#53, expected ADD_IP#53 (ADD_IP is IP of my_ns_server.com) What should I do? • How can I unobstrusively backup a few client's email?

  This is a small office. Our web/email server is a shared host. In the office we have a windows 2008 box up all the time that runs our NAS and a couple other services. I don't have access to the ISP admin stuff, but I assume it has cpanel or something like that. I can get access if I ask. I want to get email backed up from the server to our NAS without the users having to do anything. I suppose I could set up Outlook on that server with everyone's account, but that's a terrible idea, maybe (would sent mail. The boss uses outlook, but we have Apple Mail and Thunderbird clients too. I guess the important thing is that outlook look at the backups, so boss is happy. Then again, maybe it should be stored in whatever is the most portable format (that will work on NTFS) This is for about 10 users.

• Apply email retention policy to Inbox but not subfolders?

  Our official email policy states that email older than 90 days in the Inbox is moved to Deleted Items, not including subfolders of the Inbox. This wasn't a problem to implement in Exchange 2003. In 2010, however, it appears that Policy Tags applied to the Inbox also apply to its subfolders. How can I prevent this from occuring? • Making Thunderbird auto-add SMTP identities whenever I reply

  How can I teach Thunderbird to automatically add an SMTP identity whenever I reply to an email directed to <whatever>@<mydomain>? So if an SMTP is configured for <mydomain> but no identity exists for <whatever>@<mydomain>, how can I make Thunderbird dynamically recognize this and add it. Currently I have to manually add the identity every single time, but I would prefer it to to be added ad-hoc. As long as Thunderbird was configured to know about the SMTP serving <mydomain> this should be trivial, but I couldn't find an option. An add-on or something like a catch-all/wildcard identity would also do as long as it doesn't require manually setting up a new identity every time.

• All email directed to 3rd party vendor except for one specific domain. How?

  So we setup a site to site vpn tunnel with another company. We then proceeded to setup a DNS zone on each others dns servers and entered in each others Mail server name and IP, MX record and WWW record. This allowed us to send emails to each others mail servers through the site to site vpn. Now recently the other company started using MX Logic to scan all outbound and incoming mail. So all outbound email is directed to MX Logic. However we still want email between us to travel across the the Site to Site VPN tunnel. How can we specify that to happen for just one domain not to be directed to MX Logic? Stump on both ends and looking for help.

• Server.transfer causing HttpException

  I am developing a C#/SQL ASP.NET web application in VS 2008. Currently I am using the Server.Transfer method to transfer control from one ASPX.CS file to another ASPX file. The first time through, this works. But after control is transferred to this new file it encounters a condition: if (restart == false) { where "restart" is a boolean variable. After this statement it immediately transfers control back to the same ASPX.CS file and tries to reexecute the Server.Transfer method. This time it gives me the following exception and stack trace. Do you know what is causing this? I tried to read this but it didn't make much sense to me.   Hi, I'm trying to send emails through localhost (XAMPP Windows 1.7.3 installation), but I've been trying for hours with no success. • How do I solve "System is running in low graphics issue" in Ubuntu INSTALLER ?

  I made a bootable USB for installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS alongside Windows 8.1. I inserted my USB device and then booted into it. Then it showed me 2 options - 'Try Ubuntu' or 'Install Ubuntu'. Now I press 'Try Ubuntu' and then it says, "The system is running in low graphics mode". Then I press 'OK'. Then it showed me 4 options. Then again I click 'OK'. Then it shows a black screen and nothing happens. I have tried all possible answers provided in AU. What should I do? Please help. PS :- I am using Windows 8.1 with dedicated graphic card which is AMD Radeon HD 8670M. I am trying to do this in a Dell Laptop 3537 Inspiron. UPDATE :- I tried running the liveUSB session with nomodeset on and i was able to enter the installer. But when I run boot-repair(so that my Ubuntu gets detected in the GRUB menu) after installing Ubuntu successfully alongside Windows 8(following this tutorial with nomodeset on, I get the following error:- your system is running in legacy mode boot repair done

Usually I'd use <input type="email" ...> but I want to allow a user to type foo rather than [email protected] in the (likely) case that they are using an @mycompany.com email address. Is there a way to get around the validation (if format matches this regex, accept; otherwise, validate normally), or should I just use <input type="text" ...> and ignore the semantics and so forth?

• TCP packets larger than 4 KB don't get a reply from Linux

  I'm running Linux 3.2.51 in a virtual machine (192.168.33.15). I'm sending Ethernet frames to it. I'm writing custom software trying to emulate a TCP peer, the other peer is Linux running in the virtual machine guest. I've noticed that TCP packets larger than about 4 KB are ignored (i.e. dropped without an ACK) by the Linux guest. If I decrease the packet size by 50 bytes, I get an ACK. I'm not sending new payload data until the Linux guest fully ACKs the previous one. I've increased ifconfig eth0 mtu 51000, and ping -c 1 -s 50000 goes through (from guest to my emulator) and the Linux guest gets a reply of the same size. I've also increased sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_rmem='70000 87380 87380 and tried with sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_mtu_probing=1 (and also =0). There is no IPv3 packet fragmentation, all packets have the DF flag set. It works the other way round: the Linux guest can send TCP packets of 6900 bytes of payload and my emulator understands them. This is very strange to me, because only TCP packets seem to be affected (large ICMP packets go through). Any idea what can be imposing this limit? Any idea how to do debug it in the Linux kernel? See the tcpdump -n -vv output below. tcpdump was run on the Linux guest. • Port translation in router causing some email to fail

  We are in the process of setting up a spam filter (SAVASM). One change we are making is to push incoming email on port 25 through our spam filter/server but have users actually send their email on a different port. I am attempting to make this happen by using port address translation to send port 25 traffic to the SAVASM server IP. As a step in making this change I setup port translation without actually changing the IP addresses. The NAT rules for the email server went from one Static NAT rule with no port specified, to multiple Static NAT rules each with a port or group matching the Access Rules for that server (smtp, pop3, http, https, and some other custom ports). The problem we are running into is confusing. Some outgoing mail through this server is failing when the router has the multiple NAT rules with port translation settings. Email goes through fine FROM our email to our internal accounts and to Gmail. However email fails when FROM our client's email address TO our client's email or their personal Comcast. The only situation that worked for them was if they changed FROM to Comcast and then messages went through fine to both Comcast and the client's accounts. Switching back to regular Static NAT rule everything then worked for them. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be going on? We are on a Cisco ASA 5500 box.

• An alternative to reading input from Java's System.in

  I’m working on the UVa Online Judge problem set archive as a way to practice Java, and as a way to practice data structures and algorithms in general. They give an example input file to submit to the online judge to use as a starting point (it’s the solution to problem 100). Input from the standard input stream (java.lang.System.in) is required as part of any solution on this site, but I can’t understand the implementation of reading from System.in they give in their example solution. It’s true that the input file could consist of any variation of integers, strings, etc, but every solution program requires reading basic lines of text input from System.in, one line at a time. There has to be a better (simpler and more robust) method of gathering data from the standard input stream in Java than this: public static String readLn(int maxLg) { byte lin[] = new byte[maxLg]; int lg = 0, car = -1; String line = “”; try { while (lg < maxLg) { car = System.in.read(); if ((car < 0) || (car == ‘\n’)) { break; } lin[lg++] += car; } } catch (java.io.IOException e) { return (null); } if ((car < 0) && (lg == 0)) { return (null); // eof } return (new String(lin, 0, lg)); } I’m really surprised by this. It looks like something pulled directly from K&R’s “C Programming Language” (a great book regardless), minus the access level modifer and exception handling, etc. Even though I understand the implementation, it just seems like it was written by a C programmer and bypasses most of Java’s object oriented nature. Isn’t there a better way to do this, using the StringTokenizer class or maybe using the split method of String or the java.util.regex package instead?

• Build System with Recursive Dependency Aggregation

  Hi, I recently began setting up my own library and projects using a cross platform build system (generates make files, visual studio solutions/projects etc on demand) and I have run into a problem that has likely been solved already. The issue that I have run into is this: When an application has a dependency that also has dependencies then the application being linked must link the dependency and also all of its sub-dependencies. This proceeds in a recursive fashion e.g. (For arguments sake lets assume that we are dealing exclusively with static libraries.) TopLevelApp.exe dependency_A dependency_A-1 dependency_A-2 dependency_B dependency_B-1 dependency_B-2 So in this example TopLevelApp will need to link dependency_A, dependency_A-1, dependency_A-2 etc and the same for B. I think the responsibility of remembering all of these manually in the target application is pretty sub optimal. There is also the issue of ensuring the same version of the dependency is used across all targets (assuming that some targets depend on the same things, e.g. boost). Now linking all of the libraries is required and there is no way of getting around it. What I am looking for is a build system that manages this for you. So all you have to do is specify that you depend on something and the appropriate dependencies of that library will be pulled in automatically. The build system I have been looking at is premake premake4 which doesn't handle this (as far as I can determine). Does anyone know of a build system that does handle this? and if there isn't then why not?

  Hi all, I have a very strange problem that I cannot fix and don't know what's going on... I am using VS 2010 Premium and .NET 4.0. Here are my steps to simulate the problem. Step 1. Create a new VB class library project named "MyClassLib" Step 2. Create a new class named "MyTestingClass". Public Class MyTestingClass Inherits System.ComponentModel.Design.CollectionEditor Public Sub New() MyBase.New(GetType(List(Of String))) End Sub End Class Step 3. Add two .net reference. "System.Design" and "System.Drawing". Step 4. Create a new VB console application named "MyClassExe" Step 5. Add "MyClassLib" reference to "MyClassExe". Step 6. Open Module1.vb in "MyClassExe" project Step 7. In the Main method, type Dim a = New MyClassLib.MyTestingClass() Step 8. Try to compile "MyClassLib". It doesn't have problem. Step 9. Try to compile "MyClassExe". It cannot compile because the WHOLE MyClassLib cannot be found!!! I have no idea what's going on? Moreover, the same case happens in C#. Does anyone know what's the problem with "System.Design"? Thank!!!
