• Sharepoint discussion board w/ attachments expiration policy

  I want to set a retention policy (DB Settings - Information Management Policy Settings) on a discussion board, but does the attachment get deleted as well? Also, I have a discussion board retention policy right now that isn't working properly. The criteria is: Last Updated + 30 days Delete There are plenty of dicussion items that are long past "Last Updated". Any ideas why?

  In which location and file does Firefox save the last windows I had opened (when Firefox crashed)? I have a complete "hot dump" copy of a file system and need to restore the state Firefox was when the system crashed, but I cannot restore the full backup itself. I can only extract the files of Firefox, but I do not know in which files I have to search for the urls that were last opened when the snapshot of the whole file system was done.

  THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS I recently installed Synergy 1.5 r2278 (for Mac OSX 10.6.8) and was using it fine for most of the day, then it decided to stop working (the only thing I changed systemwise was the screensaver - and then after it started crashing disabled it - to see if it would resolve). • Rails: periodically use HEAD to check for page changes

  I have a Rails app implementing a game, so it's expected that a player will leave a browser open at the game page. When player Alan takes an action himself, I use AJAX requests to update the game page Alan is viewing to reflect the new state. However, when another player (Bob) takes an action, I don't have (or want) a mechanism to push the change to Alan's view. I would like Alan's page to periodically poll the Rails server to find if there have been any changes since last reload, and to reload the page (either via a whole-page GET or an AJAX call) if not. In order to play nicely with caches and proxies, I'd like to do this by issuing a periodic HTTP HEAD request, get Rails to work out the timestamp of the last change (trivially available from my DB) and respond with that in the Last-Modified header; then have the client-side act on that timestamp. How can I go about doing this?

• touchesEnded not being called??? or randomly being called

  If I lift my finger up off the first touch, then it will recognize the next touch just fine. It's only when I hold my first touch down continuously and then try and touch a different area with a different finger at the same time. It will then incorrectly register that second touch as being from the first touch again.   I'm trying to come up with a way to determine how "hot" certain threads are in a forum. What criteria would you use and why? How would these come together to give a hotness score? The criteria I'm thinking of include: how many replies how long since the last reply average time between replies The problems this algorithm must solve: A thread which has 500 replies is clearly hot, unless the last reply was over a year ago. A thread with 500 replies that was replied to a second ago is clearly hot, unless it's taken 4 years to reach 500 replies. A thread with 15 replies in the last 4 minutes is really hot! Any ideas, thoughts or complete solutions out there?

Each post has a foreign key relation to a "Thread" and a "User" as well as a creation date. The trick is I don't want to show two posts by the same user or two posts in the same thread. • Wireless Network Disappearing From Available Networks (Windows 7)

  I have been using Windows 7 with a BT Voyager wireless adapter to connect to my home wireless network for around the last 6 months or so and until recently have experienced no problems. However, over the last couple of days Windows has been unable to connect to the network and the network name is no longer visible in the list of available wireless networks. The only way I have got round the problem is to reboot the NetGear router and to change the SSID to a network name which has not already been used. I do not believe the problem is with the router as my mobile phone can connect to it without any problems. The BT Voyager wireless adapter detects all other available networks so I presume this is a Windows 7 issue as it seems to occur when the PC is rebooted. This problen has happened twice in the last 2 days and is becoming extremely annoying. Does anyone have any suggestions?

• Need help parsing file/writing script

  Hey all, I have been doing nothing but web development over the last few years and haven't written any Java or C++ in what feels like forever. I don't necessarily need to use these languages, so I'm entirely open to suggestion. I was given an email list by a client to import into their mailchimp account yesterday and unfortunately, Mailchimp couldn't read the file. It's a text file, but I don't believe it's tab delimited (which would make this much, much easier for me). A small portion of the file (I've changed last names and email addresses) can be viewed here: http://sparktoignite.com/patients.txt If anyone has suggestions on how I can get this into a Mailchimp readable format (csv, tab delimited txt, excel) please let me know. I feel like 3 years ago I would've been able to do this in a matter of minutes, but given that I haven't touched anything other than RoR, PHP, and jQuery for the last few years, I don't know where to start.   I have a list that I need to parse where the all but the last element needs to be parsed by one parser, and the last element needs to be parsed by another parser. a = "p1 p1b ... p2" or a = "p2" Originally I tried parser = do parse1 <- many parser1 parse2 <- parser2 return AParse parse1 parse2 The problem is that parse1 can consume a parse2 input. So parse1 always consumes the entire list, and leave parse2 with nothing. Is there a way to say to apply parse1 to everything besides the last element in a string, and then apply parse2?

• Problem with truncation of floating point values in DBSlayer.

  When I run a query through DBslayer http://code.nytimes.com/projects/dbslayer the floating point results are truncated to a total of six digits (plus decimal point and negative sign when needed). { ... "lat":52.2228,"lng":-2.19906, ... } When I run the same query in MySQL, the results are as expected. | 52.22280884 | -2.19906425 | Firstly, am I correct in identifying DBSlayer as the cause of this effect? The only (really crappy) ways I have found is to use git filter-branch to run "wc -l *", and a script that run git reset --hard on each commit, then ran wc -l To make it a bit clearer, when the tool is run, it would output the lines of code of the very first commit, then the second and so on.. • Complicated idea - how to create car racing for my RPG game's players

  So, I want to create car racing for my RPG game's players. Player can create race and choose how many participants can participate in race. After race is being created, other people can join it. When the maximum participants are collected, race begins. My idea, when the last participant joins, then instantly choose the winner (who's car is the best, that person wins), but how can I do it? If I choose to pick the winner after the last participant joins, then I have to put many queries in one page (select data from table, then delete the race, then select players' cars' statistics and pick the winner and then again, using mysql, send message to everyone). But this idea is really not optimal and it will lag cruelly for that last person. Maybe you have any ideas how I can avoid lag and make it more optimal. Thank you very much.

• Richfaces a4j achtionparam set null value

  I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc).
