  • Javascipt or jQuery "Are you sure?" dialog for <A> link?

    - by Andrew Tomazos - Fathomling
I have a link in my HTML: <a href="/DoSomethingDangerous">do something dangerous</a> Visiting the DoSomethingDangerous link causes a not easily reversable action to occur. So after the link is clicked on I would like a dialog box (eg "Are you sure?" "OK" "Cancel") to be displayed and if the user clicks Cancel the link is not visited and the browser remains at the same page. What is the cleanest technique using either Javascript or jQuery to implement this?

  • Convert jQuery Colorbox to act as a user dialog?

    - by ropstah
Is there a nice and easy way to have a Colorbox act as a dialog window? I understand there are enough events which can be addressed but I'm unable to construct this in a nifty way... Or are there existing ways to replace the close button with ok/cancel or yes/no or other buttons..?

  • How to Add a Business Card, or vCard (.vcf) File, to a Signature in Outlook 2013 Without Displaying an Image

    - by Lori Kaufman
Whenever you add a Business Card to your signature in Outlook 2013, the Signature Editor automatically generates a picture of it and includes that in the signature as well as attaching the .vcf file. However, there is a way to leave out the image. To remove the business card image from your signature but maintain the attached .vcf file, you must make a change to the registry. NOTE: Before making changes to the registry, be sure you back it up. We also recommend creating a restore point you can use to restore your system if something goes wrong. Before changing the registry, we must add the Business Card to the signature and save it so a .vcf file of the contact is created in the Signatures folder. To do this, click the File tab. Click Options in the menu list on the left side of the Account Information screen. On the Outlook Options dialog box, click Mail in the list of options on the left side of the dialog box. On the Mail screen, click Signatures in the Compose messages section. For this example, we will create a new signature to include the .vcf file for your business card without the image. Click New below the Select signature to edit box. Enter a name for the new signature, such as Business Card, and click OK. Enter text in the signature editor and format it the way you want or insert a different image or logo. Click Business Card above the signature editor. Select the contact you want to include in the signature on the Insert Business Card dialog box and click OK. Click Save below the Select signature to edit box. This creates a .vcf file for the business card in the Signatures folder. Click on the business card image in the signature and delete it. You should only see your formatted text or other image or logo in the signature editor. Click OK to save your new signature and close the signature editor. Close Outlook as well. Now, we will open the Registry Editor to add a key and value to indicate where to find the .vcf to include in the signature we just created. If you’re running Windows 8, press the Windows Key + X to open the command menu and select Run. You can also press the Windows Key + R to directly access the Run dialog box. NOTE: In Windows 7, select Run from the Start menu. In the Open edit box on the Run dialog box, enter “regedit” (without the quotes) and click OK. If the User Account Control dialog box displays, click Yes to continue. NOTE: You may not see this dialog box, depending on your User Account Control settings. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Signatures Make sure the Signatures key is selected. Select New | String Value from the Edit menu. NOTE: You can also right-click in the empty space in the right pane and select New | String Value from the popup menu. Rename the new value to the name of the Signature you created. For this example, we named the value Business Card. Double-click on the new value. In the Value data edit box on the Edit String dialog box, enter the value indicating the location of the .vcf file to include in the signature. The format is: <signature name>_files\<name of .vcf file> For our example, the Value data should be as follows: Business Card_files\Lori Kaufman The name of the .vcf file is generally the contact name. If you’re not sure of what to enter for the Value data for the new key value, you can check the location and name of the .vcf file. To do this, open the Outlook Options dialog box and access the Mail screen as instructed earlier in this article. However, press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the Signatures button. The Signatures folder opens in Windows Explorer. There should be a folder in the Signatures folder named after the signature you created with “_files” added to the end. For our example, the folder is named Business Card_files. Open this folder. In this folder, you should see a .vcf file with the name of your contact as the name of the file. For our contact, the file is named Lori Kaufman.vcf. The path to the .vcf file should be the name of the folder for the signature (Business Card_files), followed by a “\”, and the name of the .vcf file without the extension (Lori Kaufman). Putting these names together, you get the path that should be entered as the Value data in the new key you created in the Registry Editor. Business Card_files\Lori Kaufman Once you’ve entered the Value data for the new key, select Exit from the File menu to close the Registry Editor. Open Outlook and click New Email on the Home tab. Click Signature in the Include section of the New Mail Message tab and select your new signature from the drop-down menu. NOTE: If you made the new signature the default signature, it will be automatically inserted into the new mail message. The .vcf file is attached to the email message, but the business card image is not included. All you will see in the body of the email message is the text or other image you included in the signature. You can also choose to include an image of your business card in a signature with no .vcf file attached.

  • Javascript Back Button - Stop the initial load of back button from working

    - by Evan
Hi, I'm using a javascript back button link and forward button link to control the user's history inside a modal/lightbox window. The challenge I have is when the modal window is launched, and the "back" and "forward" buttons are present for the user to click, if the initial javascript back button is clicked when the window opens, it actually closes the modal window, because the javascript history is taking the user back to the page PRIOR to the opening of modal window. So, in essence, I'm trying to disable the "back" button from working on the initial load of the modal/light box. <a href="javascript:history.go(-1)">Back Button</a> <a href="javascript:history.go(1)">Foward Button</a> Is this possible?

  • ASP.NET MVC The new ActionLink with MvcHtmlString and request URL generated

    - by mare
This piece of code used to work in MVC 1 but it does not since I upgraded to MVC 2: <%=Html.ActionLink(Resources.Localize.Routes_WidgetsCreate, "Create" + "?modal=true", "Widget", null, new { rel = "shadowbox;height=600;width=700", title = Resources.Localize.Routes_WidgetsCreate })%> I am aware it has something to do with the way ActionLink encodes things, so the result that comes out is something like this: "http://localhost:53704/Widget/Create%3fmodal%3dtrue" The problem is, when clicked, the Shadowbox modal opens up and inside, where the request View should be rendered is this exception: Server Error in '/' Application. A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (?). What can I do to get past that? Do you recommend another way of sending params to the view besides in QueryString (in this case I need "modal" because in the view I select CSS styles based on whether we are rendering modal or not)?

    - by Steffen Kern
I have the following code: public void button_login(View view) { // Instantiate an AlertDialog.Builder with its constructor AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(this); builder.setPositiveButton(R.string.ok, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { /* User clicked OK button */ } }); // Preserve EditText values. EditText ET_username = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.username); EditText ET_password = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.password); String str_username = ET_username.toString(); String str_password = ET_password.toString(); // Intercept missing username and password. if(str_username.length() == 0) { builder.setMessage(R.string.hint_username_empty); AlertDialog dialog = builder.create(); dialog.show(); } } I have an activity that includes the two EditText-Views and a button. When I click the button the shown method will be called. My problem: The AlertDialog doesnt show up! When I put the create and show at beginning like this: // Instantiate an AlertDialog.Builder with its constructor AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(this); builder.setPositiveButton(R.string.ok, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { /* User clicked OK button */ } }); builder.setMessage(R.string.hint_username_empty); AlertDialog dialog = builder.create(); dialog.show(); // Preserve EditText values. EditText ET_username = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.username); EditText ET_password = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.password); String str_username = ET_username.toString(); String str_password = ET_password.toString(); // Intercept missing username and password. if(str_username.length() == 0) { } } Then the Dialog shows up. Any ideas why the dialog doesnt show up in the first place? Greetz, Steffen

  • NullPointerException when installing the Android SDK on Mac OS X

    - by Feanor
I'm installing the Android SDK on Mac OS X. Following the instructions on the Android Development site, I've downloaded the SDK and modified my .bash_profile to include the path. The next step is to use the Android SDK and AVD Manager to actually download the platforms. However, when I use the Manager to install the platforms, I get the following error in the Terminal. I've looked around for similar problems in the Eclipse and Android forums and haven't found anything yet. Is something else damaged in the environment and needs to be repaired? Any recommendations on where I should look? java.lang.NullPointerException at org.eclipse.swt.graphics.Device.getFontList(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.resource.FontRegistry.filterData(FontRegistry.java:456) at org.eclipse.jface.resource.FontRegistry.createFont(FontRegistry.java:490) at org.eclipse.jface.resource.FontRegistry.defaultFontRecord(FontRegistry.java:551) at org.eclipse.jface.resource.FontRegistry.defaultFontData(FontRegistry.java:563) at org.eclipse.jface.resource.FontRegistry.getFontData(FontRegistry.java:579) at org.eclipse.jface.dialogs.Dialog.dialogFontIsDefault(Dialog.java:1077) at org.eclipse.jface.dialogs.Dialog.applyDialogFont(Dialog.java:998) at org.eclipse.jface.dialogs.Dialog.createContents(Dialog.java:756) at org.eclipse.jface.window.Window.create(Window.java:431) at org.eclipse.jface.dialogs.Dialog.create(Dialog.java:1089) at com.android.sdkuilib.internal.repository.UpdateChooserDialog.create(UpdateChooserDialog.java:280) at org.eclipse.jface.window.Window.open(Window.java:790) at com.android.sdkuilib.internal.repository.UpdaterData.updateOrInstallAll(UpdaterData.java:502) at com.android.sdkuilib.internal.repository.RemotePackagesPage.onInstallSelectedArchives(RemotePackagesPage.java:323) at com.android.sdkuilib.internal.repository.RemotePackagesPage.access$600(RemotePackagesPage.java:54) at com.android.sdkuilib.internal.repository.RemotePackagesPage$7.widgetSelected(RemotePackagesPage.java:168) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.TypedListener.handleEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.EventTable.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.notifyListeners(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runDeferredEvents(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Unknown Source) at com.android.sdkuilib.internal.repository.UpdaterWindowImpl.open(UpdaterWindowImpl.java:104) at com.android.sdkuilib.repository.UpdaterWindow.open(UpdaterWindow.java:110) at com.android.sdkmanager.Main.showMainWindow(Main.java:281) at com.android.sdkmanager.Main.doAction(Main.java:247) at com.android.sdkmanager.Main.run(Main.java:92) at com.android.sdkmanager.Main.main(Main.java:81) logout

  • Trouble bringing a Blackberry App to Foreground

    - by Luis Armando
I have an app that is listening in background and when the user clicks "send" it displays a dialogue. However I need to bring my app to foreground so the user answers some questions before letting the message go. but I haven't been able to do this, this is the code in my SendListener: SendListener sl = new SendListener(){ public boolean sendMessage(Message msg){ Dialog myDialog = new Dialog(Dialog.D_OK, "message from within SendListener", Dialog.OK,Bitmap.getPredefinedBitmap(Bitmap.EXCLAMATION), Dialog.GLOBAL_STATUS) { //Override inHolster to prevent the Dialog from being dismissed //when a user holsters their BlackBerry. This can //cause a deadlock situation as the Messages //application tries to save a draft of the message //while the SendListener is waiting for the user to //dismiss the Dialog. public void inHolster() { } }; //Obtain the application triggering the SendListener. Application currentApp = Application.getApplication(); //Detect if the application is a UiApplication (has a GUI). if( currentApp instanceof UiApplication ) { //The sendMessage method is being triggered from //within a UiApplication. //Display the dialog using is show method. myDialog.show(); App.requestForeground(); } else { //The sendMessage method is being triggered from // within an application (background application). Ui.getUiEngine().pushGlobalScreen( myDialog, 1, UiEngine.GLOBAL_MODAL ); } return true; } }; store.addSendListener(sl); App is an object I created above: Application App = Application.getApplication(); I have also tried to invoke the App to foreground using its processID but so far no luck.

  • FBPermissionDialog bug, showing "Welcome to Facebook" page

    - by Oliver
    I'm experiencing a weird bug that I can replicate pretty consistently with the FBConnect iPhone SDK, more specifically with the class FBPermissionDialog. The result is that instead of seeing the standard extended permissions dialog, the user is shown this: http://cl.ly/15Lx. The only way around it is for the user to delete the app and reinstall. This is how I have replicated it: On first login, the user is asked for extended permissions on something (the dialog displays correctly). The user declines the permission. User quits the app. The user relaunches the app and since we still need the permission, we ask again. Instead of the permission dialog, the user is shown the "Welcome to Facebook" page. The only way for the user to get asked again is to delete the app and reinstall. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround? Here is the code I use to ask for permission, I believe it's pretty standard. // Create a permission dialog FBPermissionDialog *dialog = [[[FBPermissionDialog alloc] init] autorelease]; dialog.delegate = self; dialog.permission = @"read_stream"; [dialog show];

  • simplemodal click events stopped working in IE7

    - by prettynerd
Here's my code: $('#alertInfo').modal({ close :false, overlayId :'confirmModalOverlay', containerId :'confirmModalContainer', onShow : function(dialog) { dialog.data.find('.message').append(message); dialog.data.find('.yes').click(function(){ if ($.isFunction(callback)) callback.apply(); $.modal.close(); }); dialog.data.find('.close').click(function(){ $.modal.close(); }); } }); Basically, this is a dialogue box which I call to show a warning message that has a "X" button (with class 'close') and an "OK" button (with class 'yes'). The problem occurs in IE7. When I call this dialogue box and use my "X" button to close it everytime, my "X" button does not work anymore on the third time I call it (YES ON THE THIRD TIME!). However, if I use my "OK" button to close the dialogue box, it works fine no matter how many times I call it. I thought I found a workaround by unbinding and binding my click event of the '.close' class, as below: dialog.data.find('.close').unbind('click'); dialog.data.find('.close').bind('click',function(){$.modal.close();}); and it worked!!! unfortunately, however, the problem now occurs in my "OK" button. so, i did the same unbinding and binding the click event of the '.yes' class, as below: dialog.data.find('.yes').unbind('click'); dialog.data.find('.yes').bind('click', function() { if ($.isFunction(callback)) callback.apply(); $.modal.close(); }); BUT NOPE, IT DOES NOT WORK.. please help me.. @ericmmartin, i hope you're online now.. huhu..

If I try to remove the Progress dialog code the activity works. What's wrong? How could I fix this?

  • Adding BarButtons to a UINavigationBar after presenting a modal view controller.

    - by yujean
I'm using the template for a "Utility Application". In the "FlipSideViewController", I added an IBOutlet for a UINavigationController, navController. In the code, I added the navController just fine. The rootViewController loads perfectly: navController.viewControllers = [[NSArray arrayWithObject:rootViewController] retain]; [self.view addSubview:navController.view]; I changed the color of the navController just fine: navController.navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.6 green:0.75 blue:0.6 alpha:1.0]; navController.navigationBar.translucent = NO; I make a button (note: "done" refers to a IBAction that dismisses the modalviewcontroller): UIBarButtonItem *backButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"TEST" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleDone target:self action:@selector(done:)]; I make a navItem using that button: UINavigationItem *backNavItem = [[UINavigationItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"TESTTEST"]; [backNavItem setRightBarButtonItem:backButton animated:YES]; I try to add that button: [navController.navigationBar pushNavigationItem:backNavItem animated:YES]; This above code fails miserably. I apparently can't add buttons to the navController because: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Cannot call pushNavigationItem:animated: directly on a UINavigationBar managed by a controller.' Do I have to make a separate UINavigationBar that's somehow connected to my navController? I tried going that route but with no avail.

  • How do you modify a modal popup from ASP codebehind instead of letting it close?

    - by user328422
I'm using SimpleModal to create a popup on an ASP.net application. The OK button calls a server-side function - and based on the resulta of that function I'd like to modify the popup (make some things visible, etc.) instead of letting it close. If that's too difficult, I'd like to open the popup again without the user having to re-click on anything. I'm just not sure what the best way to do this is. Currently the OK button in the popup looks like this: <asp:ImageButton ID="submitInfoBtn" OnClick="btnSubmitInfo_Click" ImageUrl="css/assets/btn_ok.png" runat="server"/> and there is nothing defined that tells anything that the OK button should close the popup (the Cancel button has class="simplemodal-close", so I would expect it to do just that, but not the OK button) - anyone have any ideas on the best way through this? Thanks in advance!!
