  • DB2 - How to run an ad hoc select query with a parameter in IBM System i Access for Windows GUI Tool

    - by KenB
    I would like to run some ad hoc select statements in the IBM System I Navigator tool for DB2 using a variable that I declare. For example, in the SQL Server world I would easily do this in the SQL Server Management Studio query window like so: DECLARE @VariableName varchar(50); SET @VariableName = 'blah blah'; select * from TableName where Column = @VariableName; How can I do something similar in the IBM System I Navigator tool?

  • What is the PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR parameter in SetPixelFormat() used for?

    - by Mads Elvheim
    Usually when setting up OpenGL contexts, I've simply filled out a PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR structure with the necessary information and called ChoosePixelFormat(), followed by a call to SetPixelFormat() with the returned matching pixelformat from ChoosePixelFormat(). Then I've simply passed the initial descriptor without giving much thought of why. But now I use wglChoosePixelFormatARB() instead if ChoosePixelFormat() because I need some extended traits like sRGB and multisampling. It takes an attribute list of integers, just like XLib/GLX on Linux, not a PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR structure. So, do I really have to fill in a descriptor for SetPixelFormat() to use? What does SetPixelFormat() use the descriptor for when it already has the pixelformat descriptor index? Why do I have to specify the same pixelformat attributes in two different places? And which one takes precedence; the attribute list to wglChoosePixelFormatARB(), or the PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR attributes passed to SetPixelFormat()? Here are the function prototypes, to make the question more clear: /* Finds a best match based on a PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR, and returns the pixelformat index */ int ChoosePixelFormat(HDC hdc, const PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR *ppfd); /* Finds a best match based on an attribute list of integers and floats, and returns a list of indices of matches, with the best matches at the head. Also supports extended pixelformat traits like sRGB color space, floating-point framebuffers and multisampling. */ BOOL wglChoosePixelFormatARB(HDC hdc, const int *piAttribIList, const FLOAT *pfAttribFList, UINT nMaxFormats, int *piFormats, UINT *nNumFormats ); /* Sets the pixelformat based on the pixelformat index */ BOOL SetPixelFormat(HDC hdc, int iPixelFormat, const PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR *ppfd);

  • How can I use Web Services Core to send a complex type as a parameter to a SOAP API method

    - by Matthew Brindley
    I don't do much Cocoa programming, so I'm probably missing something obvious, so please excuse the basic question. I have a SOAP method that expects a complex type as a paramater. Here's some WSDL: <s:element name="SaveTestResult"> <s:complexType> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="result" type="tns:TestItemResponse" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> Here's the definition of the complex type "TestItemResponse": <s:complexType name="TestItemResponse"> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="TestItemRequestId" type="s:int" /> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="ExternalId" type="s:int" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="ApiId" type="s:string" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="InboxGuid" type="s:string" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="SpamResult" type="tns:SpamResult" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="ResultImageSet" type="tns:ResultImageSet" /> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="ExclusiveUseMailAccountId" type="s:int" /> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="State" type="tns:TestItemResponseState" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="ErrorShortDescription" type="s:string" /> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="ErrorFullDescription" type="s:string" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> I've been using Web Services Core to call a SOAP API method that requires a simple string param, that works great. That same method returns a complex type which WSC converted into nested NSDictionaries, so no problems there. So I assumed I'd be able to convert my local TestItemResponse class into an NSDictionary and then use that as the complex type param. It almost worked, but unfortunately WSC set the object's type as "Dictionary", instead of "TestItemResponse", and the server complained. <TestItemResponse xsi:type=\"SOAP-ENC:Dictionary\"> <ErrorFullDescription xsi:type=\"xsd:string\">foo</ErrorFullDescription> ... I can't seem to find anything that allows you to override the type WSC assigns to the element in the SOAP XML. I've been using code adapted from here, I'm happy to list it, it's just quite long and this is already the longest SO question I've ever posted.

  • How to use Custom AuthorizeAttribute for controller utilizing parameter value?

    - by RSolberg
    I am trying to secure a controller action to prevent a user from accessing an Entity that they do not have access to. I am able to do this with the following code. public ActionResult Entity(string entityCode) { if (CurrentUser.VerifyEntityPermission(entityCode)) { //populate viewModel... return View(viewModel); } return RedirectToAction("NoAccessToEntity", "Error"); } I would like to be able to add an attribute to the controller action itself. In order to validate the access to the entity, I need to see what value has been passed to the controller and what entities the user has access to. Is this possible? [EntityAuthRequired] public ActionResult Entity(string entityCode) { //populate viewModel... return View(viewModel); }

  • UriBuilder incorrectly encoding Query Parameters value ?

    - by Fred
    Lets consider the following code sample where a path and single parameter are encoded... Parameter name: "param" Parameter value: "foo/bar?aaa=bbb&ccc=ddd" (happens to be a url with query parameters) String test = UriBuilder.fromPath("https://dummy.com"). queryParam("param", "foo/bar?aaa=bbb&ccc=ddd"). build().toURL().toString(); The encoded URL string returned is: "https://dummy.com?param=foo/bar?aaa%3Dbbb&ccc%3Dddd" Is this correct ? Should not the character "&" (and may be even "?") be encoded in the parameter value string ? Would not the URL produced be interpreted as follow: One first parameter, name="param", value = "ar?aaa%3Dbbb" followed by a second parameter, name="ccc%3Dddd", without value.

  • Parameters with default value not in PsBoundParameters?

    - by stej
    General code Consider this code: PS> function Test { param($p='default value') $PsBoundParameters } PS> Test 'some value' Key Value --- ----- p some value PS> Test # nothing I would expect that $PsBoundParameters would contain record for $p variable on both cases. Is that correct behaviour? Question I'd like to use splatting for a lot of functions that would work like this: function SomeFuncWithManyRequiredParams { param( [Parameter(Mandatory=$true)][string]$p1, [Parameter(Mandatory=$true)][string]$p2, [Parameter(Mandatory=$true)][string]$p3, ...other parameters ) ... } function SimplifiedFuncWithDefaultValues { param( [Parameter(Mandatory=$false)][string]$p1='default for p1', [Parameter(Mandatory=$false)][string]$p2='default for p2', [Parameter(Mandatory=$false)][string]$p3='default for p3', ...other parameters ) SomeFuncWithManyRequiredParams @PsBoundParameters } I have more functions like this and I don't want to call SomeFuncWithManyRequiredParams with all the params enumerated: SomeFuncWithManyRequiredParams -p1 $p1 -p2 $p2 -p3 $p3 ... Is it possible?

  • Regex for retrieving the parameter of the css url function...

    - by Kieron
    Hi, I'm trying to get the url portion of the following string: url(images/ui-bg_highlight-soft_75_cccccc_1x100.png) So the required part if images/ui-bg_highlight-soft_75_cccccc_1x100.png. Currently I've got this: url\((?<url>.*)\) But it seems to be choking on the following example: url(images/ui-bg_flat_0_aaaaaa_40x100.png) 50% 50% repeat-x; opacity: .30;filter:Alpha(Opacity=30) Which results in images/ui-bg_flat_0_aaaaaa_40x100.png) 50% 50% repeat-x; opacity: .30;filter:Alpha(Opacity=30... I'd like to make sure that it supports as many variations as possible (additional whitespace etc). Thanks! Kieron

  • Dynamic Linq help, different errors depending on object passed as parameter?

    - by sah302
    I have an entityDao that is inherbited by everyone of my objectDaos. I am using Dynamic Linq and trying to get some generic queries to work. I have the following code in my generic method in my EntityDao : public abstract class EntityDao<ImplementationType> where ImplementationType : Entity { public ImplementationType getOneByValueOfProperty(string getProperty, object getValue){ ImplementationType entity = null; if (getProperty != null && getValue != null) { LCFDataContext lcfdatacontext = new LCFDataContext(); //Generic LINQ Query Here entity = lcfdatacontext.GetTable<ImplementationType>().Where(getProperty + " =@0", getValue).FirstOrDefault(); //.Where(getProperty & "==" & CStr(getValue)) } //lcfdatacontext.SubmitChanges() //lcfdatacontext.Dispose() return entity; } }         Then I do the following method call in a unit test (all my objectDaos inherit entityDao): [Test] public void getOneByValueOfProperty() { Accomplishment result = accomplishmentDao.getOneByValueOfProperty("AccomplishmentType.Name", "Publication"); Assert.IsNotNull(result); } The above passes (AccomplishmentType has a relationship to accomplishment) Accomplishment result = accomplishmentDao.getOneByValueOfProperty("Description", "Can you hear me now?"); Accomplishment result = accomplishmentDao.getOneByValueOfProperty("LocalId", 4); Both of the above work Accomplishment result = accomplishmentDao.getOneByValueOfProperty("Id", New Guid("95457751-97d9-44b5-8f80-59fc2d170a4c"))       Does not work and says the following: Operator '=' incompatible with operand types 'Guid' and 'Guid Why is this happening? Guid's can't be compared? I tried == as well but same error. What's even moreso confusing is that every example of Dynamic Linq I have seen simply usings strings whether using the parameterized where predicate or this one I have commented out: //.Where(getProperty & "==" & CStr(getValue)) With or without the Cstr, many datatypes don't work with this format. I tried setting the getValue to a string instead of an object as well, but then I just get different errors (such as a multiword string would stop comparison after the first word). What am I missing to make this work with GUIDs and/or any data type? Ideally I would like to be able to just pass in a string for getValue (as I have seen for every other dynamic LINQ example) instead of the object and have it work regardless of the data Type of the column.

  • How to handle input and parameter validation between layers?

    - by developr
    If I have a 3 layer web forms application that takes user input, I know I can validate that input using validation controls in the presentation layer. Should I also validate in the business and data layers as well to protect against SQL injection and also issues? What validations should go in each layer? Another example would be passing a ID to return a record. Should the data layer ensure that the id is valid or should that happen in BLL / UI?

  • Can I constrain a template parameter class to implement the interfaces that are supported by other?

    - by K. Georgiev
    The name is a little blurry, so here's the situation: I'm writing code to use some 'trajectories'. The trajectories are an abstract thing, so I describe them with different interfaces. So I have a code as this: namespace Trajectories { public interface IInitial < Atom > { Atom Initial { get; set; } } public interface ICurrent < Atom > { Atom Current { get; set; } } public interface IPrevious < Atom > { Atom Previous { get; set; } } public interface ICount < Atom > { int Count { get; } } public interface IManualCount < Atom > : ICount < Atom > { int Count { get; set; } } ... } Every concrete implementation of a trajectory will implement some of the above interfaces. Here's a concrete implementation of a trajectory: public class SimpleTrajectory < Atom > : IInitial < Atom >, ICurrent < Atom >, ICount < Atom > { // ICount public int Count { get; private set; } // IInitial private Atom initial; public Atom Initial { get { return initial; } set { initial = current = value; Count = 1; } } // ICurrent private Atom current; public Atom Current { get { return current; } set { current = value; Count++; } } } Now, I want to be able to deduce things about the trajectories, so, for example I want to support predicates about different properties of some trajectory: namespace Conditions { public interface ICondition &lt Atom, Trajectory &gt { bool Test(ref Trajectory t); } public class CountLessThan &lt Atom, Trajectory &gt : ICondition &lt Atom, Trajectory &gt where Trajectory : Trajectories.ICount &lt Atom &gt { public int Value { get; set; } public CountLessThan() { } public bool Test(ref Trajectory t) { return t.Count &lt Value; } } public class CurrentNormLessThan &lt Trajectory &gt : ICondition &lt Complex, Trajectory &gt where Trajectory : Trajectories.ICurrent &lt Complex &gt { public double Value { get; set; } public CurrentNormLessThan() { } public bool Test(ref Trajectory t) { return t.Current.Norm() &lt Value; } } } Now, here's the question: What if I wanted to implement AND predicate? It would be something like this: public class And &lt Atom, CondA, TrajectoryA, CondB, TrajectoryB, Trajectory &gt : ICondition &lt Atom, Trajectory &gt where CondA : ICondition &lt Atom, TrajectoryA &gt where TrajectoryA : // Some interfaces where CondB : ICondition &lt Atom, TrajectoryB &gt where TrajectoryB : // Some interfaces where Trajectory : // MUST IMPLEMENT THE INTERFACES FOR TrajectoryA AND THE INTERFACES FOR TrajectoryB { public CondA A { get; set; } public CondB B { get; set; } public bool Test(ref Trajectory t){ return A.Test(t) && B.Test(t); } } How can I say: support only these trajectories, for which the arguments of AND are ok? So I can be able to write: var vand = new CountLessThan(32) & new CurrentNormLessThan(4.0); I think if I create an orevall interface for every subset of interfaces, I could be able to do it, but it will become quite ugly.

  • How do you link to an action that takes an array as a parameter (RedirectToAction and/or ActionLink)

    - by Andrew
    I have an action defined like so: public ActionResult Foo(int[] bar) { ... } Url's like this will work as expected: .../Controller/Foo?bar=1&bar=3&bar=5 I have another action that does some work and then redirects to the Foo action above for some computed values of bar. Is there a simple way of specifying the route values with RedirectToAction or ActionLink so that the url's get generated like the above example? These don't seem to work: return RedirectToAction("Foo", new { bar = new[] { 1, 3, 5 } }); return RedirectToAction("Foo", new[] { 1, 3, 5 }); <%= Html.ActionLink("Foo", "Foo", new { bar = new[] { 1, 3, 5 } }) %> <%= Html.ActionLink("Foo", "Foo", new[] { 1, 3, 5 }) %> However, for a single item in the array, these do work: return RedirectToAction("Foo", new { bar = 1 }); <%= Html.ActionLink("Foo", "Foo", new { bar = 1 }) %> When setting bar to an array, it redirects to the following: .../Controller/Foo?a=System.Int32[] Finally, this is with ASP.NET MVC 2 RC. Thanks.

    I have to add a listbox/dropdownlist to a report in a Visual Studio Business Intelligence project, allowing users to filter a DataSet by the Id of the entity chosen in the listbox. I heard this was possible, but there is no option to add a listbox in the Toolbox in Visual Studio, and looking at the Report Definition on microsoft.com, there's nothing there about a listbox. What am I doing wrong here?

  • JSP request parameter is returning null on a jsp include with Weblogic.

I have code like the following: <jsp:include page="./Address.jsp"> <jsp:param value="30" name="tabIndex"/> <jsp:param value="true" name="showBox"/> <jsp:param value="none" name="display"/> </jsp:include> The page is included fine, but when I try to access the parameters on the Address.jsp page, they are null. I have tried accessing them the following ways (with jstl): <c:out value="${param.tabIndex}" /> <c:out value="${param['tabIndex']} /> <%= request.getParameter("tabIndex") %> <c:out value="${pageScope.param.tabIndex} /> ${param.tabIndex} etc... Here is the kicker, The above works fine in tomcat 5.5. However, when I deploy the application in Weblogic 10, it does not. Also, the code works fine in other areas of my application (on weblogic) just not a particular page. Any Ideas? Thanks!

The workflow is like this: A user enters a search term A list of search results is presented to the user. Each search result represents one PDF document and shows the user on which page the search term was found. Each of these pages is represented as a hyperlink. If the user now clicks on such a hyperlink, he directly jumps to that page. But now the user has the problem that the search term isn't highlighted on the page. Therefore the user has to look on his own to find the search term on the page. What we wanted is a way to highlight the search term on the specific page in the PDF. The open parameters for Acrobat Reader allow for either searching a PDF document (with hit highlighting) OR jumping to a specific page. But the combination of both parameters - which we would need - doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea how jumping to a page and highlighting a search term in a pdf document could work? I had a look at the Acrobat SDK but don't see how we can use it (it's terribly documented). Cheers, Helmut

  • Passing JSP parameter to javascript won't work in IE8!

    - by Ronen
    Could really use with some help here... I've got a servlet that generates an XML string (relatively long) which I then pass to a javascript variable in a forwarded jsp file: $(document).ready(function() { ... var itXML = <% out.print((String)request.getAttribute("xml"));% ; ... } This seems to work just fine in Firefox but when I run the same project on IE8 I get a syntax error for this line. Any Ideas? Thanks!
