  Is there a way to get XMMS2 to call an outside script when it advances in a playlist - either automatically or via manual intervention (e.g. xmms2 next)? The goal is to have balloons pop up on my desktop to tell me what new song has started playing, and I really, really don't want to write a background daemon that polls 'xmms2 info' or 'xmms2 current' if there's a way to get it to issue the callback.   I have experienced this issue mainly with Excel, Word and Powerpoint 2013, where there is constant pop-up box asking for login credentials as it tries to connect to officeimg.vo.msecnd.net I have searched and found one of the solution, to prevent Office from connecting to the internet (Options Trust Center Settings Allow Office to connect to internet). This solution worked for sometime, but am back to square one again. Solutions are sought, as this is a nagging problem, I am sure others would have experienced the same.

  How can i format a Double to String in c# so as to have only two decimal digits? If I use String.Format("{0:0.00}%", myDoubleValue) the number is rounded, and i want a simple truncate without rounding. Also, I want the conversion to String to be culture sensitive.

  Apparently the implementation of Assembly.Load() in Silverlight needs a full/strong name. E.g. this works: Assembly.Load("MyAssembly, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=..."); while this will fail even if MyAssembly is already loaded: Assembly.Load("MyAssembly"); Is there a workaround so that it's possible to use the simple name?

  From what I have researched it is not possible to change the Timezone of a thread. So my question is why can't you? I would have thought switching your application's culture to a specific country would also switch this, seems like expected behaviour IMO.

• Remote Desktop triggers a loud Beep on local machine - how to shut it up?

  When I remote desktop into a server, I get a loud beep coming out of my local machine whenever certain messageboxes pop up. (An example is to search for something in the Event Log - when the search finds no results, I get a message box accompanied by a loud beep) Annoyingly, the beep still happens even if I have sound turned off locally or the volume right down - it seems to be hooking in to some low level OS-beep mechanism. Any way to turn it off?

  My iPhone 3GS doesn´t show up in the Scanners and Cameras tool when I connect it via USB to Windows XP. Nor does the Camera Wizard pop up. How do I make Windows XP detect the device as a Camera? I currently have no way of downloading photos from the iPhone to my computer. iTunes does recognize the device, but it doesn't offer a way to synchronize photos. Thanks for your help.

I think that it should be ParseExact since you already gave the format but I also think all the checking for the Culture info would slow it down.
