    - by inigo
First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of research, this is kind of urgent. Are soap messages binded in http request/header? If yes, can I view soap messages using tcpmon? Is there any other way to view soap messages?

  • Tech necessary to build a live video chat site?

    - by tomeaton
Hi, I'm looking to build a live video chat site. Before writing a project description, hiring a developer, etc., I'm doing a little research on what types of technologies / web development skills are necessary in order to build this type of site. The site will feature live video and audio for users to be able to chat with eachother, a simple profile which they can fill out, and the ability to filter the types of users they are connected with. Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks, Tom

  • Generalized Bottom up Parser Combinators in Haskell

    - by Panini Sai
I am wondered why there is no generalized parser combinators for Bottom-up parsing in Haskell like a Parsec combinators for top down parsing. ( I could find some research work went during 2004 but nothing after https://haskell-functional-parsing.googlecode.com/files/Ljunglof-2002a.pdf http://www.di.ubi.pt/~jpf/Site/Publications_files/technicalReport.pdf ) Is there any specific reason for not achieving it?

  • Looking for similar projects: Iphone/Android + Google Maps + "external" database = sightseeing map

    - by sniurkst
Hello, sorry, it's not exactly a programming question, but I am currently in a research state and looking for similar projects, so I could analyze them: It should be application to iPhone or Android or other mobile platform, where, basically, user can access map with "places of interest" and add it's own "place of interest" (with photo and description). Kind of, community generated sightseeing map. I know it is quite simple and not a groundbreaking idea, but my google-fu is quite weak and I can't find anything like that.

  • Best way to run remote VBScript in ASP.net? WMI or PsExec?

    - by envinyater
I am doing some research to find out the best and most efficient method for this. I will need to execute remote scripts on a number of Window Servers/Computers (while we are building them). I have a web application that is going to automate this task, I currently have my prototype working to use PsExec to execute remote scripts. This requires PsExec to be installed on the system. A colleague suggested I should use WMI for this. I did some research in WMI and I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I want to either upload the script to the server and execute it and read the results, or already have the script on the server and execute it and read the results. I would prefer the first option though! Which is more ideal, PsExec or WMI? For reference, this is my prototype PsExec code. This script is only executing a small script to get the Windows OS and Service Pack Info. Protected Sub windowsScript(ByVal COMPUTERNAME As String) ' Create an array to store VBScript results Dim winVariables(2) As String nameLabel.Text = Name.Text ' Use PsExec to execute remote scripts Dim Proc As New System.Diagnostics.Process ' Run PsExec locally Proc.StartInfo = New ProcessStartInfo("C:\Windows\psexec.exe") ' Pass in following arguments to PsExec Proc.StartInfo.Arguments = COMPUTERNAME & " -s cmd /C c:\systemInfo.vbs" Proc.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = True Proc.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True Proc.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False Proc.Start() ' Pause for script to run System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1500) Proc.Close() System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(2500) 'Allows the system a chance to finish with the process. Dim filePath As String = COMPUTERNAME & "\TTO\somefile.txt" 'Download file created by script on Remote system to local system My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(filePath, "C:\somefile.txt") System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1000) ' Pause so file gets downloaded ''Import data from text file into variables textRead("C:\somefile.txt", winVariables) WindowsOSLbl.Text = winVariables(0).ToString() SvcPckLbl.Text = winVariables(1).ToString() System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1000) ' ''Delete the file on server - we don't need it anymore Dim Proc2 As New System.Diagnostics.Process Proc2.StartInfo = New ProcessStartInfo("C:\Windows\psexec.exe") Proc2.StartInfo.Arguments = COMPUTERNAME & " -s cmd /C del c:\somefile.txt" Proc2.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = True Proc2.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True Proc2.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False Proc2.Start() System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(500) Proc2.Close() ' Delete file locally File.Delete("C:\somefile.txt") End Sub

  • Email SMTP validator

    - by Hrvoje
I need to send hundreds of newsletters, but would like to check first if email exists on server. It's called smtp validation, at least i think so, based on my research on net. There's several libraries that can do that, and also a page with open-source code in asp (http://www.coveryourasp.com/ValidateEmail.asp#Result3), but I have hard time reading classic asp, and it seams that it uses some third-party library... Does someone have code for smtp validation in c#, and/or general explanation of how it works?

  • Best way to do text processing in linux/mac ?

    - by euphoria83
I generally need to do a fair amount of text processing for my research, such as removing the last token from all lines, extracting the first 2 tokens from each line, splitting each line into tokens, etc. What is the best way to perform this ? Should I learn Perl for this? Or should I learn some kind of shell commands? The main concern is speed. If I need to write long code for such stuff, it defeats the purpose.

  • Using a Cyc Image in Windows

    - by nrhine1
Hi, I am trying to use a Microtheory for a research project I am working on, and am having trouble getting my saved Image of constants I create to work correctly. I save the image after creating the constants using (write-image "world\MyImage") and then going to the \server\run\ directory and using run-cyc-32bit.bat -w "world\MyImage" It loads the server correctly, but not with my constants. I found the above command at the reference page here. Thank you for any help

  • P-NP-Problem: What are the most promising methods?

    - by phimuemue
Hello everybody, I know that P=NP has not been solved up to now, but can anybody tell me something about the following: What are currently the most promising mathematical / computer scientific methods that could be helpful to tackle this problem? Or are there even none such methods known to be potentially helpful up to now? Is there any (free) compendium on this topic where I can find all / most of the research done in this area?

  • GWT 2.0 and Dynamic (or lack thereof) Grids

    - by nick
Still new to GWT and was attempting to create a dynamic grid using the UiBinder. However I got a strange (and horribly misleading) error about the tag for grid not being properly closed. After a bit of research I found out Grid isn't currently supported for UiBinding. For those of you in the 2.0 world how have you been handling tabular layout?

  • OpenID authentication in Ruby on Rails

    - by martinatime
I am a neophyte with Ruby on Rails but I've created a couple of small apps. Anyway, I'm really interested in OpenID and I would like to implement OpenID authentication and maybe some Sreg stuff in a Rails app. All of the research that I have done has come up with articles that are out of date or just don't work for me. Since I'm so new to Rails I'm having difficulty debugging the issues so... What is the best way to implement OpenId in Rails? Thanks

  • Do the ideas of traditional software engineering conflict with the newer agile development technique

    - by fuentesjr
So as a developer I am seeking to improve not only my coding skills but my design and management skills. Because of this I'm starting to pay more attention to software engineering practices but i'm not sure where agile development fits into the picture. I can appreciate agility in projects but I wonder whether this conflicts with the traditional ways of software engineering practices and research.

  • Instrumenting java core libraries

    - by Muneeb
Hello, When we compile a java program, we get .class files. Can I access these .class files of java core libraries? e.g. can I have access to java.lang.String.class ? Actually I am doing a research and trying to find branch coverage of some java core libraries. The tool I am using for branch coverage actually instruments the .class files. Thanks

  • Projects with browsable source using dependency injection w/ guice?

    - by André
I often read about dependency injection and I did research on google and I understand in theory what it can do and how it works, but I'd like to see an actual code base using it (Java/guice would be preferred). Can anyone point me to an open source project, where I can see, how it's really used? I think browsing the code and seeing the whole setup shows me more than the ususal snippets in the introduction articles you find around the web. Thanks in advance!

  • Texturing Issue when Overlaying images onto Camera preview SurfaceView

    - by Dervis Suleyman
I am in the process of making an augmented reality application and I have successfully overlaid a 3d cube over a camera surface view. The Issue now is when I add a Texture the cube then flickers(with the texture on it) and disappears leaving the camera preview upon further research i discovered that the cube with the texture was disappearing behind the Camera preview. My Question is has anyone else had this issue and if yes what approach did you take to solve this. Heres another strange Issue when i take a print screen the cube is on-top of the camera Preview

  • Which JavaScript graphics library has the best performance?

    - by DNS
I'm doing some research for a JavaScript project where the performance of drawing simple primitives (i.e. lines) is by far the top priority. The answers to this question provide a great list of JS graphics libraries. While I realize that the choice of browser has a greater impact than the library, I'd like to know whether there are any differences between them, before choosing one. Has anyone done a performance comparison between any of these?

  • How can I get the followers of a user on twitter, then get posts from those followers over a period

    - by Ronan
I've been assigned a research project to enhance social networking based adaptive e-learning and to do so I need to be able to extract several (hundreds, maybe thousands) of status updates or tweets in order to perform factor analysis on key words. Apparently this can be done with javascript but I have never used javascript before so I'm a bit lost. I know I need a Twitter API but not sure even how to use one. Anybody have any idea how I can do this?
