• User friendly urls in joomla1.5

  Hi , I am working Joomla 1.5 . I am unaware of how to set user-friendly Urls to the site in Joomla1.5. Give suggestions for keeping User-Friendly urls ... I have changed the configuration for SEO as yes to apache mod_rewrite and Search engine friendly Urls .It changes the url as http://localhost/joomla/Joomla_1.5.7/publicationsform but it shows me a 404 error and it works only when i put http://localhost/joomla/Joomla_1.5.7/index.php/publicationsform how to resolve this . Also even when i put http://localhost/joomla/Joomla_1.5.7/index.php/publicationsform my css is not getting added..

• Zend_Cache_Backend_Sqlite vs Zend_Cache_Backend_File

  Hi, Currently i'm using Zend_Cache_Backend_File for caching my project (especially responses from external web services). I was wandering if I could find some benefit in migrating the structure to Zend_Cache_Backend_Sqlite. Possible advantages are: File system is well-ordered (only 1 file in cache folder) Removing expired entries should be quicker (my assumption, since zend wouldn't need to scan internal-metadatas for expiring date of each cache) Possible disadvantages: Finding record to read (with files zend check if file exists based on filename and should be a bit quicker) in term of speed. I've tried to search a bit in internet but it seems that there are not a lot of discussion about the matter. What do you think about it? Thanks in advance.

• Alternative to BerkeleyDB?

  I'm looking for a dbm-like library that I can use in place of Berkeley DB, which I'm currently using. My main reason for switching is the licensing fees for BDB are pretty high (free for open source apps, but my employer does not want to open source this particular app for various reasons). I've looked briefly at qdbm but it doesn't look like it will fill my needs -- lots of keys (several million) and large data items ( 1-5 megabytes). Before I continue my search I figured I'd ask because it seems there are tons of dbm-like libraries out there.

• mongodb php finding a subobject and removing it, $inc other subobject

  I'm trying to delete the subobject 'apples' from my documents and update the 'fruitInventory' property, decrease by the amount of apples. I'm confused on how to proceed, should I use dot notation or do a full text search for apples? • App only spawns one thread

  I have what I thought was a thread-friendly app, and after doing some output I've concluded that of the 15 threads I am attempting to run, only one does. I have if __name__ == "__main__": fhf = FileHandlerFactory() tweet_manager = TweetManager("C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/My Documents/My Dropbox/workspace/trie/Tweet Search Engine/data/partitioned_raw_tweets/raw_tweets.txt.001") start = time.time() for i in range(15): Indexer(tweet_manager, fhf).start() Then in my thread-entry point, I do def run(self): print(threading.current_thread()) self.index() That results in this: <Indexer(Thread-3, started 1168)> So of 15 threads that I thought were running, I'm only running one. • Numerical Pattern Matching

  A project I'm researching requires some numerical pattern matching. My searches haven't turned up many relevant hits since most results tend to be around text pattern matching. The idea is we'll have certain wave patterns we'll need to be watching for and trying to match incoming data vs the wave database we will be building. Here is and example of one of the wave patterns we'll need to be matching against. There is clearly a pattern there, but the peaks will not have the exact same values, but the overall shape of the wave iterations will be very similar. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about storing and later matching these patterns, and / or other search terms I can use to find more information on the subject of pattern matching? • Any implementations of graph st-ordering or ear-decomposition?

  I'm in the search for an implementation of an ear-decomposition algorithm (http://www.ics.uci.edu/~eppstein/junkyard/euler/ear.html). I examined networkx and didn't find one. Although the algorithm layout is vaguely in my mind, I'd like to see some reference implementation, too. I'm aware of Ulrik Brandes publication on a linear time Eager st-ordering algorithm, which results in an ear decomposition as a side product, if I understand correctly (it even includes pseudocode, which I'm trying to base my implementation on). Side problem: First step could be an st-ordering of a graph. Are there any implementations for st-ordering algorithms you know? Thanks for your input. I'd really like to contribute e.g. to networkx by implementing the ear-decomposition algorithm in python.

  I am searching in resumes weather the word is exist or not i am using the below query Case1: select top(10) c_resume_text from sntbl_candidates where contains(c_resume_text,'"a/dm"') in the above example only it is not working properly .It showing resumes even though there is no text like that. In Messages i am getting the following message. Informational: The full-text search condition contained noise word(s). if i try with Case 2: select top(10) c_resume_text from sntbl_candidates where contains(c_resume_text,'"a/d') i am getting proper results in case 2 can any one suggest me what to do. • Visual Studio 2008 - formatting/control characters/marks

  Hi, I don't know what I did but somehow the IDE has started displaying a green dot whenever I press spacebar and a green arrowhead whenever I press TAB. The source has become littered with these characters all over and I am finding it very difficult to code in the presence of so many formatting marks. I have tried to search a solution on Google but couldn't perhaps enter the right keywords so haven't been able to fix the behavior. Is there any way I can stop VS2008 IDE from littering my source code with these green dots and arrowheads whenever I press spacebar/tab? I would be really thankful for this help. • Build Systems for PHP Web Apps

  I want to start automating more of my web development process so I'm looking for a build system. I write mostly PHP apps on Mac OS X and deploy Linux servers over FTP. A lot of my clients have basic hosting providers so shell access to their servers is typically not available, however remote MySQL access is usually present. Here is what I want to do with a build system: When Building: Lint JavaScript Files Validate CSS Files Validate HTML Files Minify and concatenate JS and CSS files Verify PHP Syntax Set Debug/Production flags When Deploying Checkout latest version from SVN Run build process Upload files to server via FTP Run SQL scripts on remote DB I realize this is a lot of work to automate but I think it would be worth it. So what is the best way to start down this path? Is there a system that can handle builds and deploys, or should I search for separate solutions? What systems would you recommend?

  While reading through some lecture notes on preliminary number theory, I came across the solution to water jug problem (with two jugs) which is summed as thus: Using the property of the G.C.D of two numbers that GCD(a,b) is the smallest possible linear combination of a and b, and hence a certain quantity Q is only measurable by the 2 jugs, iff Q is a n*GCD(a,b), since Q=sA + tB, where: n = a positive integer A = capacity of jug A B= capacity of jug B And, then the method to the solution is discussed Another model of the solution is to model the various states as a state-space search problem as often resorted to in Artificial Intelligence. My question is: What other known methods exist which models the solution, and how? Google didn't throw up much.

The ajax request works fine when the web app is running stand alone and out of facebook platform, but within facebook, the result that I get from my ajax request is blank !!! • Using psftp to upload and download files

  Hello I am trying to upload and download files from my desktop to my server. Now after some search I did download psftp. I used to use filezilla earlier, but I cannot install it on my desktop due to a few reasons. Since psftp (similar to putty) is just an executable for file transfer. So now after going through this link http://www.math.tamu.edu/~mpilant/math696/psftp.html. I understood that put and get are two commands I would use to download and upload files. Now when I logon to the server and say get filename, it actually is throwing back an error "local: unable to open filename". I tried that with other files too, and I end up getting the same error. Am I making a mistake or is it a problem with this executable? I did not find relevant tags for this topic, could somebody suggest me the right forum for this issue.

• Parsing JSON file with Python -> google map api

  Hi all, I am trying to get started with JSON in Python, but it seems that I misunderstand something in the JSON concept. I followed the google api example, which works fine. But when I change the code to a lower level in the JSON response (as shown below, where I try to get access to the location), I get the following error message for code below: Traceback (most recent call last): File "geoCode.py", line 11, in test = json.dumps([s['location'] for s in jsonResponse['results']], indent=3) KeyError: 'location' How can I get access to lower information level in the JSON file in python? Do I have to go to a higher level and search the result string? That seems very weird to me? • Bind Data after TCP receive.

  I have this strange problem all day now. I dunno if you handled something similar. I used two different serializers and now i know its not this problem. Im sending some data over TCP Sockets. Serialize - Send - Deserialize, everything works ok, i can get my objects search through them, use they're properties! But, if e.g receive a BusinessObject[] and convert into List<BusinessObject>, then bind the list in a Control.DataSource = businessObjectList; BOOM! NotSupportedException. Tried it with 3 different controls. Same behaviour. My head is empty of ideas right now!! The Send TCP happens on Desktop Framework, Receive on Compact Framework. But i dont think this has to do with anything. I wish for an explanation on this!

• Ajax in existing asp .net project.

  hi , I have a web page devoloped in visual studio 2008. I have 4 dropdowns and a repeater in the page.based on the selection(search criteria) from the dropdowns the repeater value will change. and one dropdown selection will bind values to the other dropdown also. Since the page is causing a lot of postback we decided to implement ajax here. I am yet to learn ajax. Can anyone tell what is the best way to do this .which ajax control replace dropdowns? i have already server side code written on all dropdowns. • Where can I find the gtk-builder-convert script?

  I've built a small GUI app for work that uses some .glade files for pop-up windows. Recently, the ground beneath me was shifted - my environment was upgraded. Newer pyGTK versions require GTKBuilder and .xml files instead of Glade and .glade files and now my poor app is broken. I need to convert the .glade file to the newer .xml file. Problem is Glade-3 is not on our system, and I can't find gtk-builder-convert on the web. I've looked at the Gnome GIT Browser, don't know where to start looking or how to search it. Would anyone be kind enough to point me to the gtk-builder-convert python script?

  Hello all, First off, I'm posting this because when I was looking for a solution to the problem below, I could not find one on stackoverflow. So, I'm hoping to add a little bit to the knowledge base here. I need to process some files in a directory and need the files to be sorted numerically. • MATLAB is changing variables when I do not want it to.

  Here is my problem in a small bit of code used as an example, trial(0) function [] = trial(test) disp(test) if(test == 1) disp('test is one') test = 0; end disp(test) Matlab prints out this: 0 'test is one' 0 This is not my real code, there are over 500 lines of it, but this is a section of my code where the problem has risen. I have used the search function to see if I have been incrementing any variables anywhere, and have put in over 2 hours trying to see why MATLAB is changing my variables when I don't want it to.

• Python Closures Example Code

  I am learning Python using "Dive Into Python 3" book. I like it, but I don't understand the example used to introduce Closures in Section 6.5. I mean, I see how it works, and I think it's really cool. But I don't see any real benefit: it seems to me the same result could be achieved by simply reading in the rules file line by line in a loop, and doing search / replace for each line read. Could someone help me to: either understand why using closures in this example improves the code (e.g., easier to maintain, extend, reuse, or debug?) or suggest a source of some other real-life code examples where closures really shine? • ldapsearch and vcard creation

  I'm using openldap on Mac OS X Server 10.6 and need to generate a vcard for all the users in a given group. By using the ldapsearch I can list all the memberUid's for all users in that group. I found a perl script (Advanced LDAP Search or ALS) that was written by someone that will generate the vcard easily. ALS can be found here http://www.ldapman.org/tools/als.gz So what I need to do is create a wrapper script (in python or perl) that will effectively loop through the memberUid's and run the ALS command to create the vcard and append it to the file. This command provides the memberUid's: ldapsearch -x -b 'dc=ldap,dc=server,dc=com' '(cn=testgroup)' Then running ALS gives the vcard: als -b dc=ldap,dc=server,dc=com -V uid=aaronh > vcardlist.vcf If it's easier to do this using Perl since ALS is already using it that would be fine. I've done more work in python but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance, Aaron

• What is the "official" place for community support for the Mere Mortals .NET framework?

  My team is using the Mere Mortals .NET framework from Oak Leaf. Being used to working with primarily open source software, I found it excruciatingly painful to find ANY community support for MM.NET. When I asked if there was any, the only place I was given to look for support was Universal Thread, which is a site which requires a membership for search and archived questions. It seems like a third party, pay-for site should not be the primary source of support for anything like this, especially MM.NET which costs $700 per developer. It doesn' to me like an entire community around MM.NET would choose to all pay on top of the license just to use a forum. If not Universal Thread, then what is the "official" place to find support for the Mere Mortals .NET framework?

• Visual Studio bug ~ 1 verified repro, 1 verified non-repro, any others?

  In Visual Studio 2010 Pro (Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel), I noticed tonight that for some reason I kept getting a wider window for quick find, but thought I was losing my mind. So I exited, restarted, etc to verify. Here's my repro steps Open existing project (I don't think it matters which one) Press ctrlf and give it something to search for (?) in "current document" Press enter Press ctrlf Press enter goto 4 Can you reproduce a slowly expanding quick find window? Do I have some sort of wacky bugged out system? I'ld obviously like to submit a bug report to MS if this is indeed a viable repro.

  Hello all, When a user registers with my site I want to offer them a login page and a user area with the URL: http://user1.mysite.com http://user2.mysite.com http://user3.mysite.com ... I did a google search for this but I wasn't sure of the right terms... How can I do this without having to actually create lots of subdomains - I am sure its not done this way - is it URL re-writing? Apache mod_rewrite? If so can someone give me an example please or is there a better way of doing this? Btw, I am using Codeigniter - if Codeigniter has something that can do this, I would rather use that. Thanks all for any help

• Using Website Information Without WebView

  I am very new to this, and I more looking for what information I need to study to be able to accomplish this. What I want to do is use my GUI I have built for my app, but pull the information from a website. If I have a website that looks like this: (Sorry, can't post pics yet) http:// dl.dropbox.com/u/7037695/ErrorCodeApp/FromWebsite.PNG (full website can be seen at http://www.atmequipment.com/Error-Codes) What would I need from the website so that if a user entered an error code here: http:// dl.dropbox.com/u/7037695/ErrorCodeApp/InApp.PNG It would use the search from the website, and populate the error description in my app? I know this is a huge question, I'm just looking for what is actually needed to accomplish this, and then I can start researching from there. -- Or is it even possible?
