• Bookmarklet fails in IE8

  Anyone want to take a stab at why this bookmarklet fails in IE8? It turns all text uppercase in Friefox and Safari. But in IE8, it simply stalls with "loading..." • Execute TSQL statement with ExecuteStoreQuery in entity framework 4.0

  I was playing with entity framework in recent days and I was searching something that how we can execute TSQL statement in entity framework. And I have found one great way to do that with entity framework ‘ExecuteStoreQuery’ method. It’s executes a TSQL statement against data source given enity framework context and returns strongly typed result. So Let’s first create a table against which we are going to execute TSQL statement. So I have added a SQL Express database as following. Now once we are done with adding a database let’s add a table called Client like following. Here you can see above Client table is very simple. There are only two fields ClientId and ClientName where ClientId is primary key and ClientName is field where we are going to store client name. Now it’s time to add some data to the table. So I have added some test data like following. Now it’s time to add entity framework model class. So right click project->Add new item and select ADO.NET entity model as following. After clicking on add button a wizard will start it will ask whether we need to create model classes from database or not but we already have our client table ready so I have selected generate from database as following. Once you process further in wizard it will be presented a screen where we can select the our table like following. Now once you click finish it will create model classes with for us. Now we need a gridview control where we need to display those data. • EntityManager injection works in JBoss 7.1.1 but not WebSphere 7

  I've built an EJB that will manage my database access. I'm building a web app around it that uses Struts 2. The problem I'm having is when I deploy the ear, the EntityManager doesn't get injected into my service class (and winds up null and results in NullPointerExceptions). The weird thing is, it works on JBoss 7.1.1 but not on WebSphere 7. You'll notice that Struts doesn't inject the EJB, so I've got some intercepter code that does that. My current working theory right now is that the WS7 container can't inject the EntityManager because of Struts for some unknown reason. My next step is to try Spring next, but I'd really like to get this to work if possible. I've spent a few days searching and trying various things and haven't had any luck. I figured I'd give this a shot.   Hi there, I want to format a XML document during unmarshal with JAXB. Unmarshal looks like: Unmarshaller u = createAndsetUpUnmarshaller(enableValidation, evtHandler, clazz); return u.unmarshal(new ByteArrayInputStream(stringSource.getBytes())); While marshaling one can format the code via: marshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FORMATTED_OUTPUT, Boolean.TRUE); But this isn´t possible for the unmarchal process... Any idea how I can format the XML string with JAXB during (or after) unmarshal process? BTW: I read some posts here about pretty print, but I want to do it with JAXB!

PHP, Node.js, classic ASP, and ASP.NET developers can all utilize the Windows Azure platform to create and launch their web sites. Likewise, these developers have a series of data storage options using Windows Azure SQL Databases, MySQL, or Windows Azure Storage. The Windows Azure Web Sites free offer enabled startups to get their site up and running on Windows Azure with a minimal investment, and with multiple deployment and continuous integration features such as Git, Team Foundation Services, FTP, and Web Deploy.  The response to the Windows Azure Web Sites offer has been overwhelmingly positive. Since the addition of the service on June 12th, tens of thousands of web sites have been deployed to Windows Azure and the volume of adoption is increasing every week. Preview Feedback In spite of the growth and success of the product, the community has had questions about features lacking in the free preview offer. The main question web developers asked regarding Windows Azure Web Sites relates to the lack of the free offer’s support for domain name mapping. During the preview launch period, customer feedback made it obvious that the lack of domain name mapping support was an area of concern. We’re happy to announce that this #1 request has been delivered as a feature of the new shared plan. New Shared Tier Portal Features In the screen shot below, the “Scale” tab in the portal shows the new tiers – Free, Shared, and Reserved – and gives the user the ability to quickly move any of their free web sites into the shared tier. With a single mouse-click, the user can move their site into the shared tier. Once a site has been moved into the shared tier, a new Manage Domains button appears in the bottom action bar of the Windows Azure Portal giving site owners the ability to manage their domain names for a shared site. This button brings up the domain-management dialog, which can be used to enter in a specific domain name that will be mapped to the Windows Azure Web Site. Shared Tier Benefits Startups and large web agencies will both benefit from this plan change. Here are a few examples of scenarios which fit the new pricing model: Startups no longer have to select the reserved plan to map domain names to their sites. Instead, they can use the free option to develop their sites and choose on a site-by-site basis which sites they elect to move into the shared plan, paying only for the sites that are finished and ready to be domain-mapped Agencies who manage dozens of sites will realize a lower cost of ownership over the long term by moving their sites into reserved mode. Once multi-site companies reach a certain price point in the shared tier, it is much more cost-effective to move sites to a reserved tier.  Long-term, it’s easy to see how the new Windows Azure Web Sites shared pricing tier makes Windows Azure Web Sites it a great choice for both startups and agency customers, as it enables rapid growth and upgrades while keeping the cost to a minimum. Large agencies will be able to have all of their sites in their own instances, and startups will have the capability to scale up to multiple-shared instances for minimal cost and eventually move to reserved instances without worrying about the need to incur continually additional costs. Customers can feel confident they have the power of the Microsoft Windows Azure brand and our world-class support, at prices competitive in the market. Plus, in addition to realizing the cost savings, they’ll have the whole family of Windows Azure features available.   Hi! I am struggling with the following scenario: an XML-message is created client-side and digitally signed using mozilla's window.crypto.signText. After signing, the message and the signature are transmitted via a webservice (.net) to the server. Everything is fine until this point. on the server, the XML shall be included in another XML-document, which is publicly accessible. The signature should be published as well in order to grant non-repudiation. Q: Is there a smooth option to convert the detached Pkcs#7 into XML-DSIG (e.g. functionality within the .net framework)? • Open source alternative to WebEx WebOffice?

  I have a client who has been using WebOffice (from WebEx) for a variety of tasks within their small organization. The problem is that they only really need a small subset of the features WebOffice provides (Contact list, Database, and Document Storage). They've asked me to develop a website focused on these three features with the rationalization that this should be more cost-effective, since they currently aren't using many of the features of WebOffice they pay for. What are some open-source alternatives that I could implement for them? Sharepoint sounds like it would be too bloated and Google Apps may not be as collaborative as they would like.

  What's wrong with this code? It works in IE and FireFox, but Chrome does not work. The idea is that the function fnTimeOut will be triggered in 5 seconds after onmousemove. It´s ok. But when, in Chrome, I click on the button "ok" to function fnAlert is triggered instantly. • Why does Opera parse my web page as XML?

  I just tried viewing my website http://www.logmytime.de/ in Opera (version 10.50) for the first time and for some reason it gives me an "xml parsing failed error" and refuses to display the web page. I can choose to "Reparse the document as HTML" and then the page works fine, but that's hardly a solution to my problem. The weird thing is that the error still occurs after setting a HTML (instead of XTHML) doctype: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> I checked the source output from the browser to make sure I did not make any mistake. I even viewed the same web page in Firebug and it shows a Content-Type of text/html; . So, why does Opera still try to parse my web page as XML? Thanks, Adrian

(yes, I know this is not a very formal method) Now a new guy without experience are going to join our team. We think now is the momento to make a little list of things that all we should test in each form. Divided by categories. For example usability: Test that the taborder of each control are properly setted, or Valitacion: Test that the max lenght of each textbox match with the max lenght of a field in the DB...etc We don't one to Reinvent the Wheels, so I want to know if such kind of document already exists.   Hi, I've got a script that changes the background colour of text that has been selected. However i'm encountering an issue when the text is selected across multiple elements/tags. The code that i've got is: var text = window.getSelection().getRangeAt(0); var colour = document.createElement("hlight"); colour.style.backgroundColor = "Yellow"; text.surroundContents(colour); And the error being output is: Error: The boundary-points of a range does not meet specific requirements. = NS_ERROR_DOM_RANGE_BAD_BOUNDARYPOINTS_ERR Line: 7 I believe this is to do with the getRange() function though i'm not too sure how to proceed since I am a beginner at javascript.   @10g - It had been a while since I'd tried something different. so here's what I did this week!Whenever our Developers deployed processes to the BPEL runtime, or perhaps when a process gets turned off due to connectivity issues, or maybe someone retired a process, I needed to know. So here's what I did. Step 1: Downloaded Quartz libraries and went through the documentation to understand what it takes to schedule a recurring job. Step 2: Cranked out two components using Oracle JDeveloper. [Within a new Web Project] a) A simple Java Class named FeedUpdater that extends org.quartz.Job. All this class does is to connect to your BPEL Runtime [via opmn:ormi] and fetch all events that occured in the last "n" minutes. events? - If it doesn't ring a bell - its right there on the BPEL Console. It is very straight forward. It will make this look much simpler.   Now that both components were ready, I packaged the Application into a war file and deployed it onto my Application Server. When the servlet initialized, the "n" second schedule was set/initialized. From then on, the servlet kept populating the RSS Feed file. I just ensured that my "Job" code keeps only 30 latest events within it, so that the feed file is small and under control. [a few kbs]   Next I opened up the feed xml on my browser - It requested a subscription - and Here I was - watching new deployments/life cycle events all popping up on my browser toolbar every 5 (actually n)  minutes!   Well, you could do it on a browser/reader of your choice - or perhaps read them like you read an email on your thunderbird!.

I am not looking for a pretty-printing beautifier, but for a tool that actually know a to change & propagate variable name choices. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{3050F520-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). I know what it says but i dont know which object i can use to access the Texbox. Thanks for any answers.

• Rails + MongoMapper + EmbeddedDocument form help

  I am working on a pretty simple web application (famous last words) and am working with Rails 2.3.5 + MongoMapper 0.7.2 and using embedded documents. I have two questions to ask: First, are there any example applications out there using Rails + MongoMapper + EmbeddedDocument? Preferably on GitHub or some other similar site so that I can take a look at the source and see where I am supposed to head? If not ... ... what is the best way to approach this task? How would I go about creating a form to handle an embedded document. What I am attempting to do is add addresses to users. I can toss up the two models in question if you would like. Thanks for the help!

• decoding 802.11 b

  I have a raw grabbed data from spectrometer that was working on wifi (802.11b) channel 6. (two laptops in ad-hoc ping each other). I would like to decode this data in matlab. I see them as complex vector with 4.6 mln of complex samples. I see their spectrum quite nice. I am looking document a bit less complicated as IEEE 802.11 standard (which I have). I can share measurement data to other people.
