  • Starting from scratch with firefox, but keeping some stuff

    Hello everyone, I run Firefox 3.6 on OS/X. My Profile, along with saved passwords, bookmarks and history has come along with me across 3 different computers, and has been upgrading since 2.0, has had hundreds of addons installed, updated and removed and has even seen some Minefield builds. Not completely surprising, my firefox seems sluggish. I'd like to start from scratch with a clean profile, but I can't do this without my history, bookmarks and saved passwords. How would I go about this?

    Is there a way to manually edit the cardinality/multiplicity symbols on the end of a database ERD made in Visio? The category I'm using is in Visio 2003 under Database -> Database Model Diagram I want to be able to go from something like this: To this: The second graphic was done by manually adding the numbers, but I would prefer to just do it in Visio. Is there any way of accomplishing this?

I've logged onto the domain controller (Windows Server 2008) and found the option in local policies which is of course locked from any changes. However I can't find the same sort of policies in the group policy manager. Which nodes do I have to expand out to find it?

  • On a local network, are you able to password protect certain folders and how (in windows xp)?

    I have a local network set up for my small office which consists of me, the manager, my wife, the secretary, and a few sales people/others. I would like to share passwords over the network and other such things privately to my wife, the secretary, but would not like the sales people and others to have access to it, yet I need the others to have access to other folders/documents that I'd like to share. How would I go about doing this if not by password? Thanks in advance

  • Remote Desktop won't maximize

    I use a laptop and I am docking and undocking frequently. Often when I connect to another machine using remote desktop, the screen size gets messed up when I dock again. By "messed up" I mean that it stays the size of my lap top screen (wide screen ratio). Clicking maximize will not get it to go full screen. Any ideas how I can reset this (other than a reboot).

  • XP: cannot assign a letter to a FAT32 partition

    I have an external hard disk, where I have created many partitions to use also in Linux. The first two partitions are FAT32. The third is a Truecrypt Partition. I cannot assign a letter to the second partition. When I go to Manage disk and make right clic on the unassigned partition, most of the items are not enables.     We have recently got some preconfigured ready-to-use computers. During some checks, I saw a strange bar located between address bar and toolbar in Windows Explorer.     In my web app, I'm toying with the idea of giving my user the opportunity to select a subdomain of their choosing, so they could select something like: foobar.myapp.com where foobar is their chosen subdomain. What is the proper way to go about setting up something like this? .htaccess? Have some api for writing virtual hosts? The application would still always map to one directory on my sever, I just want to give theme a custom URL.

    On Windows 7, dir or tree can't show unicode characters, even starting cmd with cmd /U So I would press Window Key + R to run something, and type in cmd /U so that the content might handle Unicode. And then using dir or tree /F, the content in Unicode won't show as Unicode. (in Window Explorer (file manager), the Unicode will show) Is there a way to handle it? To get Unicode characters to test your filenames, you can go to http://news.google.com/news?edchanged=1&ned=tw and you will be able to get many Unicode characters there (UTF-8)

I had the same problem with 9.10, and I thought the problem would go away when I upgraded to 10.4.   • Trouble registering punycode domain!

    Not sure if any of you have experience with this, but I am trying to include the anchor (?) in my domain name (using the appropriate punycode to allow it) but upon registering it I encounter the error that the symbol is not supported by the language I have chosen. Does anyone know what language would support this if I were to continue or even how I would go about doing so or if i can even do so. Thanks

    How do I synchronize my Outlook 2010 calendar to SharePoint 2010 website? I am able to synchronize SharePoint Calendar into my Outlook calendar but not able to do Outlook Calendar (meetings, Data) into SharePoint Calendar. When my office people go into our intranet site, I just want them to see my calendar in SharePoint which updates the data from Outlook and displays it but this calendar data on SharePoint should only be read-only to other users.

  • Windows 7 - Samba share remember password

    I have a Samba share setup on my Windows 7 machine which allows me to access a CentOS 5.6 VM running on my machine with VirtualBox. When I restart my Windows machine I have to start the VM, as you would expect. However, when I go to connect to my Samba share in Windows it asks me for the password every time - even if I tick 'Remember My Password'. Is there any way to store the password for the VM so that it doesn't ask me every time?
