  • ListView not showing up in fragment

    - by aindurti
    When I insert a listview in a fragment in my application, it doesn't show up after I populate it with items. In fact, the application crashes due to a NullPointerException. Can anybody help me? Here is the detail activity from which I show the fragments. package com.example.sample; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.support.v4.app.Fragment; import android.support.v4.app.FragmentTransaction; import android.support.v4.app.NavUtils; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; import android.widget.ListView; import com.actionbarsherlock.app.ActionBar; import com.actionbarsherlock.app.ActionBar.Tab; import com.actionbarsherlock.app.SherlockFragmentActivity; import com.actionbarsherlock.view.MenuItem; /** * An activity representing a single Course detail screen. This activity is only * used on handset devices. On tablet-size devices, item details are presented * side-by-side with a list of items in a {@link CourseListActivity}. * <p> * This activity is mostly just a 'shell' activity containing nothing more than * a {@link CourseDetailFragment}. */ public class CourseDetailActivity extends SherlockFragmentActivity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_course_detail); // Show the Up button in the action bar. ActionBar actionBar = getSupportActionBar(); actionBar.setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(true); actionBar.setNavigationMode(ActionBar.NAVIGATION_MODE_TABS); // initiating both tabs and set text to it. ActionBar.Tab assignTab = actionBar.newTab().setText("Assignments"); ActionBar.Tab schedTab = actionBar.newTab().setText("Schedule"); ActionBar.Tab contactTab = actionBar.newTab().setText("Contact"); // Create three fragments to display content Fragment assignFragment = new Assignments(); Fragment schedFragment = new Schedule(); Fragment contactFragment = new Contact(); assignTab.setTabListener(new MyTabsListener(assignFragment)); schedTab.setTabListener(new MyTabsListener(schedFragment)); contactTab.setTabListener(new MyTabsListener(contactFragment)); actionBar.addTab(assignTab); actionBar.addTab(schedTab); actionBar.addTab(contactTab); ListView listView = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.assignlist); String[] values = new String[] { "Android", "iPhone", "WindowsMobile", "Blackberry", "WebOS", "Ubuntu", "Windows7", "Max OS X", "Linux", "OS/2" }; // First paramenter - Context // Second parameter - Layout for the row // Third parameter - ID of the TextView to which the data is written // Forth - the Array of data ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1, android.R.id.text1, values); // Assign adapter to ListView listView.setAdapter(adapter); } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { switch (item.getItemId()) { case android.R.id.home: // This ID represents the Home or Up button. In the case of this // activity, the Up button is shown. Use NavUtils to allow users // to navigate up one level in the application structure. For // more details, see the Navigation pattern on Android Design: // // http://developer.android.com/design/patterns/navigation.html#up-vs-back // NavUtils.navigateUpTo(this, new Intent(this, CourseListActivity.class)); return true; } return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item); } class MyTabsListener implements ActionBar.TabListener { public Fragment fragment; public Fragment fragment2; public MyTabsListener(Fragment fragment) { this.fragment = fragment; } @Override public void onTabReselected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) { } @Override public void onTabSelected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) { ft.replace(R.id.main_across, fragment); } @Override public void onTabUnselected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) { ft.remove(fragment); } } } The fragment that I am currently trying to get working is called the Assignments fragment. As you can see in the CourseDetailActvity, I populate smaple items in the listview to see if it the listview shows up. The fragment gets inflated properly, but when I try to add items to the listview, the application crashes! • Android SQLiteConstraintException: error code 19: constraint failed

    - by Tom D
    I've seen other questions about this exception, but all of them seem to be resolved with the solution that a row with the primary key specified already exists. This doesn't seem to be the case for me. I have tried replacing all single quotes in my strings with double quotes, but the same problem occurs. I'm trying to insert a row into the Settings table of the SQLite database I've created by doing the following: db.execSQL("DROP TABLE IF EXISTS "+Settings.SETTINGS_TABLE_NAME + ";"); db.execSQL(CREATE_MEDIA_TABLE); db.execSQL(CREATE_SETTINGS_TABLE); Cursor c = getAllSettings(); //If there isn't already a settings row, create a row full of defaults if(c.getCount()==0){ ContentValues cv = new ContentValues(); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_UNIQUE_ID, "'"+Settings.uniqueID+"'"); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_DEVICE_ID, Settings.SETTING_DEVICE_ID_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE, Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED, Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_SERVER_ADDRESS, Settings.SETTING_SERVER_ADDRESS_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE, Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED, Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_X, Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_X_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_Y, Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_Y_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_X, Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_X_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_Y, Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_Y_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_FPS, Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_FPS_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_AUDIO_BITRATE_KBPS, Settings.SETTING_AUDIO_BITRATE_KBPS_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD, Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_STORAGE_LIMIT_MB, Settings.SETTING_STORAGE_LIMIT_MB_DEFAULT); this.db.insert(Settings.SETTINGS_TABLE_NAME, null, cv); } The CREATE_SETTINGS_TABLE string is defined as the following: private static String CREATE_SETTINGS_TABLE = "CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS " + Settings.SETTINGS_TABLE_NAME + "(" + Settings.SETTING_UNIQUE_ID + " TEXT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, " + Settings.SETTING_DEVICE_ID + " TEXT NOT NULL , " + Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_SERVER_ADDRESS + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_X + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_Y + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_X + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_Y + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_FPS + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_AUDIO_BITRATE_KBPS + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_STORAGE_LIMIT_MB + " TEXT NOT NULL )"; However, when I execute my insert, I always get: 03-19 19:37:36.974: ERROR/Database(386): Error inserting server_address='0.0.0.0' storage_limit='-1' connection='none' preview_enabled='0' sd_enabled='1' video_fps='15' audio_bitrate='96' device_id='-1' recording_mode='none' picture_resolution_x='-1' picture_resolution_y='-1' unique_id='000000000000000' adhoc_enable='0' video_resolution_x='320' video_resolution_y='240' 03-19 19:45:34.284: ERROR/Database(446): android.database.sqlite.SQLiteConstraintException: error code 19: constraint failed It seems as if all the columns in my insert are not null.   • std::vector optimisation required

    - by marcp
    I've written a routine that uses std::vector<double> rather heavily. It runs rather slowly and AQTime seems to imply that I am constructing mountains of vectors but I'm not sure why I would be. For some context, my sample run iterates 10 times. Each iteration copies 3 c arrays of ~400 points into vectors and creates 3 new same sized vectors for output. Each output point might be the result of summing up to 20 points from 2 of the input vectors, which works out to a worst case of 10*400*3*2*20 = 480,000 dereferences. Incredibly the profiler indicates that some of the std:: methods are being called 46 MILLION times. I suspect I'm doing something wrong! Some code: vector<double>gdbChannel::GetVector() { if (fHaveDoubleData & (fLength > 0)) { double * pD = getDoublePointer(); vector<double>v(pD, pD + fLength); return v; } else { throw(Exception("attempt to retrieve vector on empty line")); ; } } void gdbChannel::SaveVector(GX_HANDLE _hLine, const vector<double> & V) { if (hLine != _hLine) { GetLine(_hLine, V.size(), true); } GX_DOUBLE * pData = getDoublePointer(); memcpy(pData, &V[0], V.size()*sizeof(V[0])); ReplaceData(); } ///This routine gets called 10 times bool SpecRatio::DoWork(GX_HANDLE_PTR pLine) { if (!(hKin.GetLine(*pLine, true) && hUin.GetLine(*pLine, true) && hTHin.GetLine(*pLine, true))) { return true; } vector<double>vK = hKin.GetVector(); vector<double>vU = hUin.GetVector(); vector<double>vTh = hTHin.GetVector(); if ((vK.size() == 0) || (vU.size() == 0) || (vTh.size() == 0)) { return true; } ///TODO: confirm all vectors the same lenghth len = vK.size(); vUK.clear(); // these 3 vectors are declared as private class members vUTh.clear(); vThK.clear(); vUK.reserve(len); vUTh.reserve(len); vThK.reserve(len); // TODO: ensure everything is same fidincr, fidstart and length for (int i = 0; i < len; i++) { if (vK.at(i) < MinK) { vUK.push_back(rDUMMY); vUTh.push_back(rDUMMY); vThK.push_back(rDUMMY); } else { vUK.push_back(RatioPoint(vU, vK, i, UMin, KMin)); vUTh.push_back(RatioPoint(vU, vTh, i, UMin, ThMin)); vThK.push_back(RatioPoint(vTh, vK, i, ThMin, KMin)); } } hUKout.setFidParams(hKin); hUKout.SaveVector(*pLine, vUK); hUTHout.setFidParams(hKin); hUTHout.SaveVector(*pLine, vUTh); hTHKout.setFidParams(hKin); hTHKout.SaveVector(*pLine, vThK); return TestError(); } double SpecRatio::VValue(vector<double>V, int Index) { double result; if ((Index < 0) || (Index >= len)) { result = 0; } else { try { result = V.at(Index); if (OasisUtils::isDummy(result)) { result = 0; } } catch (out_of_range) { result = 0; } } return result; } double SpecRatio::RatioPoint(vector<double>Num, vector<double>Denom, int Index, double NumMin, double DenomMin) { double num = VValue(Num, Index); double denom = VValue(Denom, Index); int s = 0; // Search equalled 10 in this case while (((num < NumMin) || (denom < DenomMin)) && (s < Search)) { num += VValue(Num, Index - s) + VValue(Num, Index + s); denom += VValue(Denom, Index - s) + VValue(Denom, Index + s); s++; } if ((num < NumMin) || (denom < DenomMin)) { return rDUMMY; } else { return num / denom; } } The top AQTime offenders are: std::_Uninit_copy , double *, std::allocator 3.65 secs and 115731 Hits std::_Construct 1.69 secs and 46450637 Hits std::_Vector_const_iterator ::operator !=1.66 secs and 46566395 Hits and so on... std::allocator<double>::construct, operator new, std::_Vector_const_iterator<double, std::allocator<double> >::operator ++, std::_Vector_const_iterator<double, std::allocator<double> >::operator * std::_Vector_const_iterator<double, std::allocator<double> >::operator == each get called over 46 million times. I'm obviously doing something wrong to cause all these objects to be created. Can anyone see my error(s)?

    I'm trying to add Spring Security to the project. After adding a block of code in web.xml, all url's give 404. What is wrong? It's a Maven project, Spring MVC, hibernate, postgres. • JScrollPane content to image

    - by Sebastian Ikaros Rizzo
    I'm trying to save the main viewport and headers of a JScrollPane (larger than screen) to PNG image files. I created 3 classes extending JPanel (MainTablePanel, MapsHeaderPanel and ItemsHeaderPanel) and set them to the viewports. Each of them has this method: public BufferedImage createImage() { BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage(getSize().width, getSize().height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); Graphics g = bi.createGraphics(); paint(g); g.dispose(); return bi; } Each class has also a paint method, which paints the background and then call the super.paint() to paint some label. For example: public void paint(Graphics g){ g.setColor(Color.BLACK); g.fillRect(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight()); g.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 0, 50)); // for loop that paints some vertical yellow lines for(int i=0; i<getWidth(); i+=K.mW){ g.fillRect(i-1, 0, 2, getHeight()); if(i%(K.mW*5)==0){ g.fillRect(i-2, 0, 4, getHeight()); } } // called to pain some rotated JLabels super.paint(g); } From an external JFrame I then tried to save them to PNG file, using this code: BufferedImage tableImg = mainTableP.createImage(); BufferedImage topImg = mapsHeaderP.createImage(); BufferedImage leftImg = itemsHeaderP.createImage(); ImageIO.write(tableImg, "png", new File(s.homeDir+"/table.png")); ImageIO.write(topImg, "png", new File(s.homeDir+"/top.png")); ImageIO.write(leftImg, "png", new File(s.homeDir+"/left.png")); This is a screenshot of the application running: screenshot And this is the header exported: top If I comment the "super.paint(g)" instruction, I obtain a correct image (thus without all JLables, clearly). It seems like the second paint (super.paint(g)) is painted shifted into the BufferedImage and taking elements outside its JPanel. Somebody could explain me this behaviour? Thank you. ========== EDIT for SSCCE ==================================== This should compile. You can execute it as it is, and in c:\ you'll find two images (top.png and left.png) that should be the same as the two headers. Unfortunately, they are not. Background is not painted. Moreover (especially if you look at left.png) you can see that the labels are painted twice and shifted (note, for example, "Left test 21"). import java.awt.*; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import java.io.File; import javax.imageio.ImageIO; import javax.swing.*; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame(); frame.setLayout(null); frame.setSize(800, 600); JScrollPane scrollP = new JScrollPane(); scrollP.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS); scrollP.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS); MyPanel top = new MyPanel(); for(int i=0; i<30; i++){ JLabel label = new JLabel("Test "+i); label.setOpaque(false); label.setBounds(50*i, 40, 50, 20); label.setForeground(Color.GREEN); top.add(label); } top.setLayout(null); top.setOpaque(false); top.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(50*30, 200)); top.validate(); MyPanel left = new MyPanel(); for(int i=0; i<30; i++){ JLabel label = new JLabel("Left test "+i); label.setBounds(0, 50*i, 100, 20); label.setForeground(Color.RED); left.add(label); } left.setLayout(null); left.setOpaque(false); left.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(200, 50*30)); MyPanel center = new MyPanel(); center.setLayout(null); center.setOpaque(false); center.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(50*30, 50*30)); scrollP.setViewportView(center); scrollP.setColumnHeaderView(top); scrollP.setRowHeaderView(left); scrollP.setBounds(0, 50, 750, 500); frame.add(scrollP); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(javax.swing.WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.setVisible(true); try{ BufferedImage topImg = top.createImage(); ImageIO.write(topImg, "png", new File("C:/top.png")); BufferedImage leftImg = left.createImage(); ImageIO.write(leftImg, "png", new File("C:/left.png")); }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } } } class MyPanel extends JPanel{ public void paint(Graphics g){ g.setColor(Color.BLACK); g.fillRect(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight()); g.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 0, 50)); for(int i=0; i<getWidth(); i+=50){ g.fillRect(i-1, 0, 2, getHeight()); } super.paint(g); // COMMENT this line to obtain background images } public BufferedImage createImage() { BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage(getSize().width, getSize().height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); Graphics g = bi.createGraphics(); paint(g); g.dispose(); return bi; } }

  • How can I map "insert='false' update='false'" on a composite-id key-property which is also used in a one-to-many FK?

    - by Gweebz
    I am working on a legacy code base with an existing DB schema. The existing code uses SQL and PL/SQL to execute queries on the DB. We have been tasked with making a small part of the project database-engine agnostic (at first, change everything eventually). We have chosen to use Hibernate 3.3.2.GA and "*.hbm.xml" mapping files (as opposed to annotations). Unfortunately, it is not feasible to change the existing schema because we cannot regress any legacy features. The problem I am encountering is when I am trying to map a uni-directional, one-to-many relationship where the FK is also part of a composite PK. Here are the classes and mapping file... CompanyEntity.java public class CompanyEntity { private Integer id; private Set<CompanyNameEntity> names; ... } CompanyNameEntity.java public class CompanyNameEntity implements Serializable { private Integer id; private String languageId; private String name; ... } CompanyNameEntity.hbm.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/dtd/hibernate/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping package="com.example"> <class name="com.example.CompanyEntity" table="COMPANY"> <id name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <set name="names" table="COMPANY_NAME" cascade="all-delete-orphan" fetch="join" batch-size="1" lazy="false"> <key column="COMPANY_ID"/> <one-to-many entity-name="vendorName"/> </set> </class> <class entity-name="companyName" name="com.example.CompanyNameEntity" table="COMPANY_NAME"> <composite-id> <key-property name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <key-property name="languageId" column="LANGUAGE_ID"/> </composite-id> <property name="name" column="NAME" length="255"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> This code works just fine for SELECT and INSERT of a Company with names. I encountered a problem when I tried to update and existing record. I received a BatchUpdateException and after looking through the SQL logs I saw Hibernate was trying to do something stupid... update COMPANY_NAME set COMPANY_ID=null where COMPANY_ID=? Hibernate was trying to dis-associate child records before updating them. The problem is that this field is part of the PK and not-nullable. I found the quick solution to make Hibernate not do this is to add "not-null='true'" to the "key" element in the parent mapping. SO now may mapping looks like this... CompanyNameEntity.hbm.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/dtd/hibernate/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping package="com.example"> <class name="com.example.CompanyEntity" table="COMPANY"> <id name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <set name="names" table="COMPANY_NAME" cascade="all-delete-orphan" fetch="join" batch-size="1" lazy="false"> <key column="COMPANY_ID" not-null="true"/> <one-to-many entity-name="vendorName"/> </set> </class> <class entity-name="companyName" name="com.example.CompanyNameEntity" table="COMPANY_NAME"> <composite-id> <key-property name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <key-property name="languageId" column="LANGUAGE_ID"/> </composite-id> <property name="name" column="NAME" length="255"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> This mapping gives the exception... org.hibernate.MappingException: Repeated column in mapping for entity: companyName column: COMPANY_ID (should be mapped with insert="false" update="false") My problem now is that I have tryed to add these attributes to the key-property element but that is not supported by the DTD. I have also tryed changing it to a key-many-to-one element but that didn't work either. So... How can I map "insert='false' update='false'" on a composite-id key-property which is also used in a one-to-many FK?

  • NullReferenceException makes me want to shoot myself

    - by rockinthesixstring
    Ok, so once upon a time, my code worked. Since then I did some refactoring (basic stuff so I thought) but now I'm getting a null reference exception, and I can't bloody well figure out why. Here's where it starts. note, this is the logout method, but all of my ActivityLogs sections are throwing this error Function LogOut(ByVal go As String) As ActionResult ActivityLogService.AddActivity(AuthenticationHelper.RetrieveAuthUser.ID, _ IActivityLogService.LogType.UserLogout, _ HttpContext.Request.UserHostAddress) ActivityLogService.SubmitChanges() ''# more stuff happens after this End Function The service is pretty straight forward (notice the ERROR THROWN HERE) Public Sub AddActivity(ByVal userid As Integer, ByVal activity As Integer, ByVal ip As String) Implements IActivityLogService.AddActivity Dim _activity As ActivityLog = New ActivityLog With {.Activity = activity, .UserID = userid, .UserIP = ip.IPAddressToNumber, .ActivityDate = DateTime.UtcNow} ActivityLogRepository.Create(_activity) ''#ERROR THROWN HERE End Sub And the Interface that the Service uses looks like this Public Interface IActivityLogService Sub AddActivity(ByVal userid As Integer, ByVal activity As Integer, ByVal ip As String) Function GetUsersLastActivity(ByVal UserID As Integer) As ActivityLog Sub SubmitChanges() ''' <summary> ''' The type of activity done by the user ''' </summary> ''' <remarks>Each int refers to an activity. So yeah.. I just want to know how to get rid of those weird colgroup and col boxes in my table and how to make the table work normally! Thanks yall!

  • Unexpected StackOverflowError in KeyListener

    - by BillThePlatypus
    I am writing a program that can write sets of questions for review to a file for another program to read. The possible answers are typed into JTextFields at the bottom. • Optimizing python code performance when importing zipped csv to a mongo collection

    - by mark
    I need to import a zipped csv into a mongo collection, but there is a catch - every record contains a timestamp in Pacific Time, which must be converted to the local time corresponding to the (longitude,latitude) pair found in the same record. The code looks like so: def read_csv_zip(path, timezones): with ZipFile(path) as z, z.open(z.namelist()[0]) as input: csv_rows = csv.reader(input) header = csv_rows.next() check,converters = get_aux_stuff(header) for csv_row in csv_rows: if check(csv_row): row = { converter[0]:converter[1](value) for converter, value in zip(converters, csv_row) if allow_field(converter) } ts = row['ts'] lng, lat = row['loc'] found_tz_entry = timezones.find_one(SON({'loc': {'$within': {'$box': [[lng-tz_lookup_radius, lat-tz_lookup_radius],[lng+tz_lookup_radius, lat+tz_lookup_radius]]}}})) if found_tz_entry: tz_name = found_tz_entry['tz'] local_ts = ts.astimezone(timezone(tz_name)).replace(tzinfo=None) row['tz'] = tz_name else: local_ts = (ts.astimezone(utc) + timedelta(hours = int(lng/15))).replace(tzinfo = None) row['local_ts'] = local_ts yield row def insert_documents(collection, source, batch_size): while True: items = list(itertools.islice(source, batch_size)) if len(items) == 0: break; try: collection.insert(items) except: for item in items: try: collection.insert(item) except Exception as exc: print("Failed to insert record {0} - {1}".format(item['_id'], exc)) def main(zip_path): with Connection() as connection: data = connection.mydb.data timezones = connection.timezones.data insert_documents(data, read_csv_zip(zip_path, timezones), 1000) The code proceeds as follows: Every record read from the csv is checked and converted to a dictionary, where some fields may be skipped, some titles be renamed (from those appearing in the csv header), some values may be converted (to datetime, to integers, to floats. etc ...) For each record read from the csv, a lookup is made into the timezones collection to map the record location to the respective time zone. If the mapping is successful - that timezone is used to convert the record timestamp (pacific time) to the respective local timestamp. If no mapping is found - a rough approximation is calculated. The timezones collection is appropriately indexed, of course - calling explain() confirms it. The process is slow. Naturally, having to query the timezones collection for every record kills the performance. I am looking for advises on how to improve it. Thanks. EDIT The timezones collection contains 8176040 records, each containing four values: > db.data.findOne() { "_id" : 3038814, "loc" : [ 1.48333, 42.5 ], "tz" : "Europe/Andorra" } EDIT2 OK, I have compiled a release build of http://toblerity.github.com/rtree/ and configured the rtree package. Then I have created an rtree dat/idx pair of files corresponding to my timezones collection. So, instead of calling collection.find_one I call index.intersection. Surprisingly, not only there is no improvement, but it works even more slowly now! May be rtree could be fine tuned to load the entire dat/idx pair into RAM (704M), but I do not know how to do it. Until then, it is not an alternative. In general, I think the solution should involve parallelization of the task. I've created a list of recipes using Listview/customcursoradapter. A custom layout includes a photo for the recipe , Now I've some problems with the performance of viewing and scrolling the Listview although it has only 10 records (Target is 150). sometimes i get this error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget , I've tried to implement the Async task but i failed to do it. • Application crashing when talking to oracle unless executable path contains spaces

    - by Lasse V. Karlsen
    We have an x-files problem with our .NET application. Or, rather, hybrid Win32 and .NET application. When it attempts to communicate with Oracle, it just dies. Vanishes. Goes to the big black void in the sky. No event log message, no exception, no nothing. If we simply ask the application to talk to a MS SQL Server instead, which has the effect of replacing the usage of OracleConnection and related classes with SqlConnection and related classes, it works as expected. Today we had a breakthrough. For some reason, a customer had figured out that by placing all the application files in a directory on his desktop, it worked as expected with Oracle as well. Moving the directory down to the root of the drive, or in C:\Temp or, well, around a bit, made the crash reappear. Basically it was 100% reproducable that the application worked if run from directory on desktop, and failed if run from directory in root. Today we figured out that the difference that counted was wether there was a space in the directory name or not. So, these directories would work: C:\Program Files\AppDir\Executable.exe C:\Temp Lemp\AppDir\Executable.exe C:\Documents and Settings\someuser\Desktop\AppDir\Executable.exe whereas these would not: C:\CompanyName\AppDir\Executable.exe C:\Programfiler\AppDir\Executable.exe <-- Program Files in norwegian C:\Temp\AppDir\Executable.exe I'm hoping someone reading this has seen similar behavior and have a "aha, you need to twiddle the frob on the oracle glitz driver configuration" or similar. Anyone? Followup #1: Ok, I've processed the procmon output now, both files from when I hit the button that attempts to open the window that triggers the cascade failure, and I've noticed that they keep track mostly, there's some smallish differences near the top of both files, and they they keep track a long way down. However, when one run fails, the other keeps going and the next few lines of the log output are these: ReadFile C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\orageneric10.dll SUCCESS Offset: 274 432, Length: 32 768, I/O Flags: Non-cached, Paging I/O, Synchronous Paging I/O ReadFile C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\orageneric10.dll SUCCESS Offset: 233 472, Length: 32 768, I/O Flags: Non-cached, Paging I/O, Synchronous Paging I/O After this, the working run continues to execute, and the other touches the mscorwks.dll files a few times before threads close down and the app closes. Thus, the failed run does not touch the above files. Followup #2: Figured I'd try to upgrade the oracle client drivers, but 10.2.0.1 is apparently the highest version available for Windows 2003 server and XP clients. Followup #3: Well, we've ended up with a black-box solution. Basically we found that the problem is somewhere related to XPO and Oracle. XPO has a system-table it manages, called XPObjectType, with three columns: Oid, TypeName and AssemblyName. Due to how Oracle is configured in the databases we talk to, the column names were OID, TYPENAME and ASSEMBLYNAME. This would ordinarily not be a problem, except that XPO talks to the schema information directly and checks if the table is there with the right column names, and XPO doesn't handle case differences so it sees a XPObjectType table with three unknown columns and none of those it expects. Exactly what XPO does now I don't really know, but if I dropped this table, and recreated it with the right case, using double quotes around all the column names to get the case right, the problem doesn't crop up. Exactly where the space in the folder name comes into this, I still have no idea, but this problem had two tiers: Stop the application from crashing at our customers, short-term solution Fix the bug, long-term solution Right now tier 1 is solved, tier 2 will be put back into the queue for now and prioritized. We're facing some bigger changes to our data tier anyway so this might not be a problem we need to solve, at least if all our Oracle-customers verify that the table-fix actually gets rid of the problem. I'll accept the answer by Dave Markle since though Process Monitor (the big brother of File Monitor) didn't actually pinpoint the problem, I was able to use it to determine that after my breakpoint in user-code where XPO had built up the query for this table, no I/O happened until all the entries for the application closing down was logged, which led me to believe it was this table that was the culprit, or at least influenced the problem somehow. If I manage to get to the real cause of this, I'll update the post.

  • Image not loading onto JPanel?

    - by None None
    I have been trying to figure out how to add an image to a JPanel as a background, but still have complete control over the placing of JButtons, JLabels, and etc. This is one method I found, but it is crashing and not loading the image or buttons. Here is the code: import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.JButton; import java.awt.BorderLayout; import java.awt.FlowLayout; import java.awt.GridLayout; public class PanelDemo extends JFrame { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JButton btn1 = new JButton("EASY"); private JButton btn2 = new JButton("MEDIUM"); private JButton btn3 = new JButton("HARD"); private JButton btn4 = new JButton("High Score"); public PanelDemo() { super("Image Panel Demo"); JPanel panel = new ImagePanel( new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.CENTER, 50, 180)); JPanel panelbtn = new JPanel(new GridLayout(4, 1)); btn1.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(0, 0, 0)); btn1.setFont(new java.awt.Font("Showcard Gothic", 1, 24)); btn1.setForeground(new java.awt.Color(0, 255, 102)); btn2.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(0, 0, 0)); btn2.setFont(new java.awt.Font("Showcard Gothic", 1, 24)); btn2.setForeground(new java.awt.Color(0, 255, 102)); btn3.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(0, 0, 0)); btn3.setFont(new java.awt.Font("Showcard Gothic", 1, 24)); btn3.setForeground(new java.awt.Color(0, 255, 102)); btn4.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(0, 0, 0)); btn4.setFont(new java.awt.Font("Showcard Gothic", 1, 24)); btn4.setForeground(new java.awt.Color(0, 255, 102)); panel.add(panelbtn); panelbtn.add(btn1); panelbtn.add(btn2); panelbtn.add(btn3); panelbtn.add(btn4); add(panel, BorderLayout.CENTER); setSize(640, 480); setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); } public static void main(String... args) { new PanelDemo().setVisible(true); } } ImagePanel.java import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Image; import java.awt.LayoutManager; import javax.swing.ImageIcon; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class ImagePanel extends JPanel { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; String imageFile = "/rsc/img/background.jpg"; public ImagePanel() { super(); } public ImagePanel(String image) { super(); this.imageFile = image; } public ImagePanel(LayoutManager layout) { super(layout); } public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { ImageIcon imageicon = new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource(imageFile)); Image image = imageicon.getImage(); super.paintComponent(g); if (image != null) g.drawImage(image, 0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight(), this); } } Error: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException at javax.swing.ImageIcon.<init>(Unknown Source) at ImagePanel.paintComponent(ImagePanel.java:27) at javax.swing.JComponent.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintChildren(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintChildren(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JLayeredPane.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintChildren(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintToOffscreen(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$PaintManager.paintDoubleBuffered(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$PaintManager.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JComponent.paint(Unknown Source) at java.awt.GraphicsCallback$PaintCallback.run(Unknown Source) at sun.awt.SunGraphicsCallback.runOneComponent(Unknown Source) at sun.awt.SunGraphicsCallback.runComponents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Container.paint(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Window.paint(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$3.run(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.ProtectionDomain$1.doIntersectionPrivilege(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paintDirtyRegions(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paintDirtyRegions(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.prePaintDirtyRegions(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.access$1000(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$ProcessingRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.access$200(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.ProtectionDomain$1.doIntersectionPrivilege(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source) Also, if anyone knows of a better way to put a background image on a JPanel, pease do tell.   • spring mvc forward to jsp

    - by jerluc
    I currently have my web.xml configured to catch 404s and send them to my spring controller which will perform a search given the original URL request. The functionality is all there as far as the catch and search go, however the trouble begins to arise when I try to return a view. <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.ContentNegotiatingViewResolver" p:order="1"> <property name="mediaTypes"> <map> <entry key="json" value="application/json" /> <entry key="jsp" value="text/html" /> </map> </property> <property name="defaultContentType" value="application/json" /> <property name="favorPathExtension" value="true" /> <property name="viewResolvers"> <list> <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.BeanNameViewResolver" /> <bean id="viewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/jsp/" /> <property name="suffix" value="" /> </bean> </list> </property> <property name="defaultViews"> <list> <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.json.MappingJacksonJsonView" /> </list> </property> <property name="ignoreAcceptHeader" value="true" /> </bean> This is a snippet from my MVC config file. The problem lies in resolving the view's path to the /WEB-INF/jsp/ directory. Using a logger in my JBoss setup, I can see that when I test this search controller by going to a non-existent page, the following occurs: Server can't find the request Request is sent to 404 error page (in this case my search controller) Search controller performs search Search controller returns view name (for this illustration, we'll assume test.jsp is returned) Based off of server logger, I can see that org.springframework.web.servlet.view.JstlView is initialized once my search controller returns the view name (so I can assume it is being picked up correctly by the InternalResourceViewResolver) Server attempts to return content to browser resulting in a 404! A couple things confuse me about this: I'm not 100% sure why this isn't resolving when test.jsp clearly exists under the /WEB-INF/jsp/ directory. Even if there was some other problem, why would this result in a 404? Shouldn't a 404 error page that results in another 404 theoretically create an infinite loop? Thanks for any help or pointers! Controller class [incomplete]: @Controller public class SiteMapController { //-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @Autowired(required=true) private SearchService search; @Autowired(required=true) private CatalogService catalog; //-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @RequestMapping(value = "/sitemap", method = RequestMethod.GET) public String sitemap (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) { String forwardPath = ""; try { long startTime = System.nanoTime() / 1000000; String pathQuery = (String) request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.error.request_uri"); Scanner pathScanner = new Scanner(pathQuery).useDelimiter("\\/"); String context = pathScanner.next(); List<ProductLightDTO> results = new ArrayList<ProductLightDTO>(); StringBuilder query = new StringBuilder(); String currentValue; while (pathScanner.hasNext()) { currentValue = pathScanner.next().toLowerCase(); System.out.println(currentValue); if (query.length() > 0) query.append(" AND "); if (currentValue.contains("-")) { query.append("\""); query.append(currentValue.replace("-", " ")); query.append("\""); } else { query.append(currentValue + "*"); } } //results.addAll(this.doSearch(query.toString())); System.out.println("Request: " + pathQuery); System.out.println("Built Query:" + query.toString()); //System.out.println("Result size: " + results.size()); long totalTime = (System.nanoTime() / 1000000) - startTime; System.out.println("Total TTP: " + totalTime + "ms"); if (results == null || results.size() == 0) { forwardPath = "home.jsp"; } else if (results.size() == 1) { forwardPath = "product.jsp"; } else { forwardPath = "category.jsp"; } } catch (Exception ex) { System.err.println(ex); } System.out.println("Returning view: " + forwardPath); return forwardPath; } }

  • Stacked up with web service configuration

    - by Allan Chua
    I'm currently stacked with the web service that im creating right now. when Testing it in local it all works fine but when I try to deploy it to the web server it throws me the following error An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI '...my web service URI here....'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details. here is my web config. <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration> <configSections> </configSections> <system.webServer> <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true"> </modules> <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" /> <security> <requestFiltering> <requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="2000000000" /> </requestFiltering> </security> </system.webServer> <connectionStrings> <add name="........" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> </connectionStrings> <appSettings> <!-- Testing --> <add key="DataConnectionString" value="..........." /> </appSettings> <system.web> <compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.0"> <buildProviders> <add extension=".rdlc" type="Microsoft.Reporting.RdlBuildProvider, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> </buildProviders> </compilation> <httpRuntime executionTimeout="1200" maxRequestLength="2000000" /> </system.web> <system.serviceModel> <serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" /> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="Service1"> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" /> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" /> <dataContractSerializer maxItemsInObjectGraph="2000000000" /> </behavior> <behavior name=""> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" /> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="false" /> </behavior> <behavior name="nextSPOTServiceBehavior"> <serviceMetadata httpsGetEnabled="true"/> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" /> <dataContractSerializer maxItemsInObjectGraph="2000000000" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="SecureBasic" closeTimeout="00:10:00" openTimeout="00:10:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:10:00" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <security mode="Transport" /> <readerQuotas maxArrayLength="2000000" maxStringContentLength="2000000"/> </binding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_IDownloadManagerService" closeTimeout="00:10:00" openTimeout="00:10:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:10:00" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <security mode="Transport" /> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <services> <service behaviorConfiguration="nextSPOTServiceBehavior" name="NextSPOTDownloadManagerWebServiceTester.Web.WebServices.DownloadManagerService"> <endpoint binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="SecureBasic" name="basicHttpSecure" contract="NextSPOTDownloadManagerWebServiceTester.Web.WebServices.IDownloadManagerService" /> <!--<endpoint binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="" name="basicHttp" contract="NextSPOTDownloadManagerWebServiceTester.Web.WebServices.IDownloadManagerService" />--> <!--<endpoint address="" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IDownloadManagerService" contract="NextSPOTDownloadManagerWebServiceTester.Web.WebServices.IDownloadManagerService" /> <endpoint address="mex" binding="mexHttpsBinding" contract="IMetadataExchange" />--> </service> </services > </system.serviceModel> </configuration>

  • How to detect crashing tabed webbrowser and handle it?

    - by David Eaton
    I have a desktop application (forms) with a tab control, I assign a tab and a new custom webrowser control. I open up about 10 of these tabs. Each one visits about 100 - 500 different pages. The trouble is that if 1 webbrowser control has a problem it shuts down the entire program. I want to be able to close the offending webbrowser control and open a new one in it's place. Is there any event that I need to subscribe to catch a crashing or unresponsive webbrowser control ? I am using C# on windows 7 (Forms), .NET framework v4 =============================================================== UPDATE: 1 - The Tabbed WebBrowser Example Here is the code I have and How I use the webbrowser control in the most basic way. Create a new forms project and name it SimpleWeb Add a new class and name it myWeb.cs, here is the code to use. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.Security.Policy; namespace SimpleWeb { //inhert all of webbrowser class myWeb : WebBrowser { public myWeb() { //no javascript errors this.ScriptErrorsSuppressed = true; //Something we want set? AssignEvents(); } //keep near the top private void AssignEvents() { //assign WebBrowser events to our custom methods Navigated += myWeb_Navigated; DocumentCompleted += myWeb_DocumentCompleted; Navigating += myWeb_Navigating; NewWindow += myWeb_NewWindow; } #region Events //List of events:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.webbrowser_events%28v=vs.100%29.aspx //Fired when a new windows opens private void myWeb_NewWindow(object sender, System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs e) { //cancel all popup windows e.Cancel = true; //beep to let you know canceled new window Console.Beep(9000, 200); } //Fired before page is navigated (not sure if its before or during?) private void myWeb_Navigating(object sender, System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserNavigatingEventArgs args) { } //Fired after page is navigated (but not loaded) private void myWeb_Navigated(object sender, System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserNavigatedEventArgs args) { } //Fired after page is loaded (Catch 22 - Iframes could be considered a page, can fire more than once. Ads are good examples) private void myWeb_DocumentCompleted(System.Object sender, System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs args) { } #endregion //Answer supplied by mo. (modified)? public void OpenUrl(string url) { try { //this.OpenUrl(url); this.Navigate(url); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show("Your App Crashed! Because = " + ex.ToString()); //MyApplication.HandleException(ex); } } //Keep near the bottom private void RemoveEvents() { //Remove Events Navigated -= myWeb_Navigated; DocumentCompleted -= myWeb_DocumentCompleted; Navigating -= myWeb_Navigating; NewWindow -= myWeb_NewWindow; } } } On Form1 drag a standard tabControl and set the dock to fill, you can go into the tab collection and delete the pre-populated tabs if you like. Right Click on Form1 and Select "View Code" and replace it with this code. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Data; using System.Drawing; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Forms; using mshtml; namespace SimpleWeb { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); //Load Up 10 Tabs for (int i = 0; i <= 10; i++) { newTab("Test_" + i, "http://wwww.yahoo.com"); } } private void newTab(string Title, String Url) { //Create a new Tab TabPage newTab = new TabPage(); newTab.Name = Title; newTab.Text = Title; //create webbrowser Instance myWeb newWeb = new myWeb(); //Add webbrowser to new tab newTab.Controls.Add(newWeb); newWeb.Dock = DockStyle.Fill; //Add New Tab to Tab Pages tabControl1.TabPages.Add(newTab); newWeb.OpenUrl(Url); } } } Save and Run the project. Using the answer below by mo. , you can surf the first url with no problem, but what about all the urls the user clicks on? How do we check those? I prefer not to add events to every single html element on a page, there has to be a way to run the new urls thru the function OpenUrl before it navigates without having an endless loop. Thanks.
