How to display a TimeSpan in MVC Razor

So I have a duration in seconds of a video and I would like to display that duration in Razor. Currently I am using @TimeSpan.FromSeconds(item.Duration).ToString() However the rest of the code I am using uses @Html.DisplayFor(modelItem => item.Description) Is there way to get the duration (currently an int) to display a as a timespan? using the @Html.DisplayFor syntax. The item.duration is pulling form a Entity Framework model which is held as a int in the database.

passing parameters to .aspx page using renderpartial

ASP.NET MVC2: Getting textbox data from a view to a controller

Hi, I'm having difficulty getting data from a textbox into a Controller. I've read about a few ways to accomplish this in Sanderson's book, Pro ASP.NET MVC Framework, but haven't had any success. Also, I've ran across a few similiar questions online, but haven't had any success there either. Seems like I'm missing something rather fundamental. Currently, I'm trying to use the action method parameters approach. Can someone point out where I'm going wrong or provide a simple example? Thanks in advance! Using Visual Studio 2008, ASP.NET MVC2 and C#: What I would like to do is take the data entered in the "Investigator" textbox and use it to filter investigators in the controller. I plan on doing this in the List method (which is already functional), however, I'm using the SearchResults method for debugging. ClickHandler on an existing element in GWT

Which doctype should I use for GWT 2.0?

I think I should use <!DOCTYPE html> for my new GWT application; I understand that doing so will put my application into standards-compliant mode. Am I correct? Are there any disadvantages to using this doctype? Does GWT work properly in standards-compliant mode? I'm wary because the GWT tutorial still uses the HTML 4.01 transitional doctype.

How can I get the new Facebook Javascript SDK to work in IE8?

I've boiled down my page to the simplest possible thing, and it still doesn't work in IE8. You can configure the Connect URL in the Application Settings Editor. I've sanitized the Connect URL above, but it is correct. The dialog does have username/password fields. If I log in, the dialog box gets redirected to my Connect URL, but there's no fb cookie, so of course nothing works. What am I doing wrong here?

Jquery-UI tabs : Double loading of the default tab

If the content is loaded directly, I load a page that include the content in the ContentPlaceHolder. somewhat like this : <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="BlogPlaceHolder" runat="server"> <%=Html.Partial("Partial",Model) %> </asp:Content> //same goes for the other tabs. With this in place, if I access the url "/Forums" It loads the forum content in the Blog tab first, trigger the ajax load of the Blog tab and replace the content with the blog content. I tried putting a different placeholder for each tab, but that didn't fix everything either, since when loading "/Forums" it will sure load the forum tab, but the Blog tab will show up first. Furthermore, when using separate placeholders, If I load the "/Blogs" url, It will first load the content statically in the Blog contentplaceholder and then trigger an ajax call to load it a second time and replace it. If I just link the tab to the hashtag, then when loading the forum tabs, I won't get the blog content... How would you achieve the expected behaviour? I feel like I might have a deeper probelm in the organization of my views. Is putting the tabs in the masterpage the way to go? Maybe I should just hijax the links manually and not rely on jquery-ui tabs to do the work for me. I cannot load all tabs by default and display them using the hash tags, I need an ajax loading because it is a search process that can be long. So to sum up : /Forum should load the forum tab, and let the other tabs be loaded with an ajax call when clicking on it. /Twitter should load the twitter tab and let the other tabs.... the same goes for /Blogs and any tabs I would add later. Any idea to have this working properly?

$(document).ready() and partial view load

I am developing an application using Asp.net mvc and jquery. I'd like to use the same naming convention (classes and ids) for html elements in different views. In case when I want to load a partial view asynchronously, the $(document).ready() piece of code in the main view loses its usefulness because none of the patial view's html tags and css naming is recognized by jquery. I certainly do not want to write the same code for every view. What's th ebest way to solve this issue?

JS onclick triggers wrong object

How to Include a file outside the application (war) using jsp include

However if its kept outside the application folder it is not included in the JSP file. The code: foreach (Control ctrl in this.pnlSolutions.Controls) Seems to only be finding html table inside the panel and 2 liternals. But it does not get the textboxes that are in the html table. Is there a simple way to get all the controls inside of a panel regardless of the nesting? thanks!

ViewPager + recycling views?

At first I took a look at Gallery, but it's marked as deprecated. http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/Gallery.html We're told to try ViewPager instead. But the PagerAdapter class doesn't handle recycling of views for us (like a standard ListView), does it? http://developer.android.com/reference/android/support/v4/view/PagerAdapter.html Is it up to us to build the recycling mechanism? Here's what I mean: Setup suppose you have two pages that require HttpSession state (session affinity) to function correctly - deployed at http://www.foo.com/page1 and http://www.foo.com/page2 assume www.foo.com is a single host running a Tomcat (6.0.20, fwiw) that uses JSESSIONID for session id's. suppose these pages are turned into two iframe widgets to be embedded on 3rd party sites: http://www.site.com/page1" / (and /page2 respectively) suppose there a 3rd party site that wishes to place both widgets on the same page at http://www.bar.com/foowidgets.html Can the following race condition occur? a new visitor goes to http://www.bar.com/foowidgets.html browser starts loading URLs in foowidgets.html including the two iframe 'src' URLs because browsers open multiple concurrent connections against the same host (afaik up to 6 in chrome/ff case) the browser happens to simultaneously issue requests for http://www.foo.com/page1 and http://www.foo.com/page2 The tomcat @ foo.com receives both requests at about the same time, calls getSession() for the first time (on two different threads) and lazily creates two HttpSessions and, thus, two JSESSIONIDs, with values $Page1 and $Page2. The requests also stuff data into respective sessions (that data will be required to process subsequent requests) assume that the browser first receives response to the page1 request. Browser sets cookie JSESSIONID=$Page1 for HOST www.foo.com next response to the page2 request is received and the browser overwrites cookie JSESSIONID for HOST www.foo.com with $Page2 user clicks on something in 'page1' iframe on foowidgets.html; browser issues 2nd request to http://www.foo.com/page1?action=doSomethingStateful. That request carries JSESSIONID=$Page2 (and not $Page1 - because cookie value was overwritten) when foo.com receives this request it looks up the wrong HttpSession instance (because JSESSIONID key is $Page2 and NOT $Page1). Foobar! Can the above happen? I think so, but would appreciate a confirmation. If the above is clearly possible, what are some solutions given that we'd like to support multiple iframes per page? We don't have a firm need for the iframes to share the same HttpSession, though that would be nice. In the event that the solution will still stipulate a separate HttpSession per iframe, it is - of course - mandatory that iframe 1 does not end up referencing httpSession state for iframe 2 instead of own. off top of my head I can think of: map page1 and page2 to different domains (ops overhead) use URL rewriting and never cookies (messes up analytics) anything else? thanks a lot, -nikita

Where am I wrong?
