• Dropdown list bound to object data source - how to update on a button click

  This is probably something really stupidly simple.. I have a drop down list bound to an object data source. I have set AppendDataBoundItems to true so that I can have an initial select. <asp:DropDownList ID="Accommodations1" runat="server" AutoPostBack="true" DataTextField="AccommodationTypeDescription" DataValueField="Id" OnDataBound="Accommodations1_DataBound" onSelectedIndexChanged="Accommodations1_SelectedIndexChanged" Width="200px" DataSourceID="AccommodationDs" AppendDataBoundItems="true"> <asp:ListItem Text="Select" Value=""></asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="AccommodationDs" runat="server" OldValuesParameterFormatString="original_{0}" SelectMethod="ListByPropertyId" TypeName="PropertyAccommodationController"> <SelectParameters> <asp:Parameter Name="PropertyId" Type="Int32" /> </SelectParameters> </asp:ObjectDataSource> I have a button which adds an accommodaton - so after that happens I need the dropdown list to update to include the new accommodation. So I've tried calling databind on the dropdownlist, and databind on the datasource - and nothing is making this dropdown list update. eg. PropertyAccommodations1.DataBind(); Could someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Originally I thought it was due to an update panel issue.. but I've removed the update panel and it still doesn't work (and checked the master page doesn't include an update panel). Thanks!!

  I have the age old problem of a div wrapping a 2 column layout. My sidebar is floated so my container div fails to wrap the content & sidebar. <div id="container"> <div id="content"> </div> <div id="sidebar"> </div> </div> There seem to be numerous methods of fixing the clear bug in FF: <br clear="all"/> overflow:auto overflow:hidden etc. But in my situation, the only one that seems to work correctly is the <br clear="all"/> solution, which is a little bit scruffy. overflow:auto gives me nasty scrollbars, and overflow:hidden must surely have side effects. Also, apparently IE7 is supposed to not suffer from this problem due to its incorrect behaviour, but again, in my situation its suffering the same as FF. Whats the most reliable/best practice method currently available to us?

  Though I don't doubt this has been answered I cannot find a great match for my question. I have a table for which I'd like to filter rows based on whether or not they contain a hidden field matching a value. • Weird code appearing when I loop over model instances in Rails

  In my Rails app I'm trying to loop over the Submission instances inside my Folder instances with Rails templating code. It works. However, it's also returning each instance in code which doesn't seem to be JSON. It's what's returned when you look up an instance in the Rails console. Here's an example: #<Submission id: 112, title: nil, content: nil, created_at: "2013-10-10 23:29:39", updated_at: "2013-10-10 23:29:39", user_id: 1, folder_id: 1, parent_id: nil> Here's what the code looks like for the loop: <%= @folder.submissions.each do |x| %> <% if x.title != nil %> <div id="<%= x.id %>" class="submission-textual"> <h1><%= x.title %></h1> </div> <% else %> <% end %> <% end %> I checked my Folder and Submissions controllers but am not sure what this is.   I'm trying to build a database of urls(links). I have a Category model that has and belongs to many Links.   Hello! I try to do following: A user is on his profile page. Now he edits his profile. He klicks on update and the data is saved. Now I want to redirect the user to another kind of profile-edit-page. How to do this?

• My Rails session is getting reset when I have concurrent requests

  I think I might be misunderstanding something about Rails sessions, so please bear with me, I might not be phrasing my question the best way. I'm working on an iPhone app with a Ruby on Rails backend. I have a web view which by default goes to the index action of one controller (and uses sessions), and in the background a bunch of API calls going to a different controller (and which don't need to use sessions). The problem is, the sessions set by my web view seem to be overwitten by the API calls. My staging server is pretty slow, so there's lots of time for the requests to overlap each other - what I see in the logs is basically this: Request A (first controller) starts. Session is empty. Request B (second controller) starts. Session is empty. Request A finishes. Request A has done authentication, and stored the user ID in the session. Session contains user ID. Request B finishes. Session is empty. Request C starts. Session is empty - not what I want. Now, the strange thing is that request B should NOT be writing anything to the session. I do have before and after filters which READ from the session - things like: user = User.find_by_id(session[:id]) or logger.debug session.inspect and if I remove all of those, then everything works as expected - session contents get set by request A, and they're still there when request C starts. So. I think I'm missing something about how sessions work. Why would reading from the session overwrite it? Should I be accessing it some other way? Am I completely on the wrong track and the problem is elsewhere? Thank you for any insights!

  My Objective is to use h:messages to convey user - error and confirmation messages.The CSS styles to show these two different messages are different, In fact I would like to use an image beside the confirmation message. for Eg: <tr> <td><img/></td><td><h:msg></td> </td>. • SQL Duplicates Issue

  I have two tables : Product and ProductRateDetail. The parent table is Product. I have duplicate records in the product table which need to be unique. There are entries in the ProductRateDetail table which correspond to duplicate records in the product table. Somehow I need to update the ProductRateDetail table to match the original (older) ID from the Product table and then remove the duplicates from the product table. I would do this manually but there are 100's of records. • flex positioning a button within a panel

  All I'm trying to do is place a button inside of a panel, rotate that button (so it is vertical) and place it on the edge of the panel. I can;t seem to do this correctly. • Storing values in the DataValueField and DataTextField of a dropdownlist using a linq query

  I have a website for dance academy where Users can register and add/drop dance classes. In the web page to drop a particular dance, for a particular user, the dropdown displays her registered dances. Now I want to delete one of the dances from the list. So I'll remove the row from the table and also from the dropdownlist. The problem is that everytime the item with the lowest ID (index) is getting deleted, no matter which one the user selects. I think I am storing the DataTextField and DataValueField for the dropdown incorrectly. • Can you do this with Hudson?

  I want to create a hudson job, that takes an id as a parameter. And use that id to calculate the svn-repo path. Where I work you have a svn path for every issue that you resolve. And then all the issues are joined into a single svn-path. What I want to do is to run static code analysis on the partial issues. So I think maybe having an Ant build.xml that I use for every issue, then, parametrize the job with the issue id. I have tried to achieve that but the svn path doesn't replace the parameter. I have tried with #issueId, %issueId%, ${issueId} and ${env.issueId} without success. • Move iFrame in the DOM using jQuery

  My overall aim is to create an editor which I can skin using jQuery UI (by creating a custom toolbar which uses integration calls), using TinyMCE. Lets say I have a TinyMCE editor on a page. The actual editor is an iFrame contained inside a lot of horrible table code, which is also where the current (to be scrapped) toolbar is. I want just the iframe inside a div - ideally get rid of the table code. So...I want to transform: <table> <tr> <td><iframe id="xyz"></iframe></td> </tr> </table> into <div id="test"> <iframe id="xyz"></iframe> </div> So far, I've tried using: $('#xyz').clone(true).appendTo('#test'); Which clones the iframe, but no content inside it. Is there a way to make this work? If not, can I somehow strip the table code from around the iFrame away? If I cant do that, I'll think I'll have to keep the table code.

• JSON is not being recognised

  Hi All, Im having a bit of trouble getting my JSON to be recognised by my web page. I have validated JSON that im getting returned from server, so i know that is correct, however my javascript function is not doing anything with it.   I'm trying to create a new plugin to track popular posts based on views and I have everything done and ready to go, but I can't seem to create a new table using the Wordpress API (I can do it with standard PHP or with phpMyAdmin, but I want this plugin to be self-sufficient).
