• Keystore and Credential Store interplay in OWSM - 11g

  One of the most common problems faced by customer's is the use of the keystore and it's interplay with the credential store.Here is a picture that describes these relationships.(Click on the picture for a larger image). The picture makes some assumptions in describing the relationship. Some of assumptions are: a) the key used for signing and encryption are the same. b) A keystore can have multiple keys and each key can have it's own alias. In the picture I show only a single key with alias "orakey". c) The keystore being described here is a JKS keystore. Things can vary slightly for other type of keystores. I hope to have a detailed How To that provides the larger picture and then shows these relationships in that context and this picture was created in the context of that How-To. However I think people will find this picture useful on a standalone basis as well. The <serviceInstance> is the entry you will find in jps-config.xml

• Constant crashes in windows 7 64bit when playing games

  I've tried everything I can possibly think of in trying to fix this problem and I'm totally out of ideas, so any help would be appreciated: The problem: whenever I fire up a game, it works for a short while with no problems and then it would crash. Either its a hard crash, forcing me to reboot, or windows would report that the display driver has stopped working and recovered. Here is a list of things I've already tried: Drivers - tried the latest drivers (catalyst 9.12) as well as the stock drivers that came with the video card. Also have the latest BIOS/chipset Memtest - Ran Memtest86+ overnight, had no problems, the windows diagnostic tool also does not find any problems. Overheating - Video card/cpu temperatures are well below peak (42 and 31 Celsius receptively) PSU Voltage - CPUID shows that the voltage levels are all above what they should be. The PSU itself is only roughly 16 months old and is a good model. HDD - No errors when checked GPU - Brand new (replaced previous card since I thought it was the problem, apparently not) Overclocking - Everything is at stock levels, memory voltage is set to manufacturer's standard Specs: Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 ghz OS: Windows 7 home premium 64 bit Memory: Mushkin Enhanced 4GB DDR2 GPU: Sapphire HD 5850 1GB PSU: SeaSonic M12 600W ATX12V DirectX: DX11 Event Viewer after a crash always has these logged: A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error Processor ID: 1 The details view of this entry contains further information. A previous card that I had (4850x2) also had these errors, so I changed video cards, but the same thing is happening.

• Cocos2d and Body with few collision shapes using chipmunk

  I'm using Cocos2d (0.99.5) with chipmunk physics engine. Currently I'm trying to place a body into space which is combined from few circle shapes. Let's say I have a corresponding sprite image with displays atom (nucleus + 3 electrons around it. Something like this without orbit lines). In it's simplest form - only one circle shape at the center should be enough which would detect collisions from other objects with nucleus. Now I'd like to add other circle shapes for each electron. How can I do that? Now when I add those shapes to the body and add the body into chipmunk space - the shapes (together with the body/sprite) start flickering and spinning with no recognizable pattern (or reason for that matter).

  Its days I am searching for information/help. Is this possible at all? I am running Ubuntu 11.10 on an intel core i3 530 on a intel dh55hc mainboard. I have 2 monitors attached, one on dvi and one on hdmi. I want to ad a third or eaven a fourth monitor using an additional graphics card nvidia in pcie slot. I cant get an image on all monitors at the same time. I am wondering if this is possible at all? Any ideas where I can get information about this? Thanks in advance Roberto

• Anisotropic and trilinear filtering?

  I'm confused about the usage of trilinear filtering and anisotropic filtering in SharpDX. As far as i understood, trilinear filtering does linear filtering to the textures and in a case of LOD-change it also interpolates between the too LODs to smooth the transition. Anisotropic filtering make the texture bigger. Now it is possible to use trilinear filtering to do the same thing, due to anisotropic filtering with bigger textures. This causes a lesser blurred image, when you use anisotropy, because the interpolation is better. Now, it should be possible to use trilinear filtering and anisotropic filtering at the same time. But in the SamplerState i can only choose Filter.Anisotropy or Filter.MinMagMipLinear (should be trilinear, right?). You can see all possible filters here: D3D11 Filter Enumeration. So my question: Can you use both techniques together, if yes, how can i archieve that in SharpDX with SamplerState?

• Which programming language to develop software for USC that also runs on other OS?? (WINDOWS/OSX)

  I have skills in JAVA and C#: First i had a closer look to JAVA (Eclipse with Windowbuilder-Plugin) - Swing: But there is no natvie GUI-Support for GTK3 (e.g., HUD seems not to work) Then i was at JAVA - SWT: It is to heavy. I want do code a small app that improves the Ubuntu desktop. I don't want to ship a program with eclipse included. After that i found C# Mono (Monodevelop): GTK-shparp is only for GTK2 available. A GTK3-port will come soon but is it possible to convert the program from GTK2 to GTK3 without extra adaptations? The next bad thing is, that MONO is now dropped from Ubuntu LTS 12.04. So i have no chance that my app would be a default-app in an Ubuntu-Image. (This is also a factor for me to choose a programming language). I know there are other techs but i want to use as programing language JAVA or C#.

  Earlier this week we asked you to share your tips and tricks for keeping your apps organized and accessible; now we’re back to showcase some great reader tips to help you manage your mountain of apps. One of the trends was striving for consistency across environments. Could not install the kernel headers provided on the ppa: "dependencies cannot be fullfilled: linux-headers-3.5.0-17". After installing the kernel image, Synaptic offered me to install linux-headers-3.5.0-18 and linux-headers-3.5.0-18-generic (which could be installed successfully). volker

  In a windows webservere I'm trying to get a memory dump of a failing IIS 7 worker process (w3wp.exe) with no avail. In the Event Viewer I get the following. I get another event telling me that there is a report here: *C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppCrash_w3wp.exe_cdb8af6deb381574fe9fb0dc9aa3edaad59acd5f_cab_4fbf9b53* It contains the following files: WERD931.tmp.appcompat.txt WERDFE9.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml WER99EF.tmp.WERDataCollectionFailure.txt The "depressing one" is the WERDataCollectionFailure that says: Heap dump generation failed: 0x8007012b Mini dump generation failed: 0x8007001f After many tries, lots of msdn documentation and many failed google search. • CHKDSK is unable to fix NTFS errors

  After my PC shutdown due to power failure, I noticed several errors in EventViewer. The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume \Device\HarddiskVolume2. and The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume C:. So I forced a chkdsk check at startup, and it finds a stream of error, here is the output, it is smaller than the actual log, because, Event Viewer only seems to have this much, the same line was repeated thousands of times.Here is that line. Some clusters occupied by attribute of type 0x80 and instance tag 0x4 in file 0x198f2 is already in use. Deleting corrupt attribute record (128, "") from file record segment 104690. Attribute record of type 0x80 and instance tag 0x0 is cross linked Also, even after running CHKDSK, the same errors were being reported again so I ran CHKDSK another time and it still loops the same line above, without fixing the error. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

• Where are bluetooth received files saved

  I have used Blueman and the default Bluetooth manager an every time I accept the file transfer from the Phone to the PC, it shows that it is transferring and even notifies me that the transfer was successful but I can not find the image anywhere. Where are files stored after sending them via Bluetooth to the PC? I already checked my Home folder. The Picture folder which I thought it would be the one for images. Then the document folder and afterwards I did a huge check on all folders under /home. No luck. Is nowhere. I even checked this answer with no luck.
