    This should be a simple question but I haven't managed to find the answer on google. I would like to know, in terms an idiot can understand, exactly what application lifetime means in ASP.NET (and therefore when you can expect application start and end events to run). I assumed it would be when you run and stop the app in IIS, but I've read things that suggest it's related to number of requests.

  • How can i use appendTo and insertBefore properly

    hi all! With the append button i add elements to the same class. I want the append button and delete button beneath the appended elements, but when i use insertBefore, the Toggle function only toggles the buttons visibility. On drag start I send ajax request to other page where I generate droppable places soo the figure can be drag and droped only on those particular places, but the problem is I must move figure twice to take effect.     I would like to develop a small notifications application for Windows in .NET that docks on the right/left side of the screen (not consuming more than 300px), should always be visible and force the rest of windows to not overlap this application (something like the old Office taskbar or Vista's Sidebar).   • Grails: GGTS not running on Amazon AWS EC2 anyone else successful?

    Im just curious if anyone has had success trying to run the Groovy Grails tool suite on an Amazon AWS EC2 instance with its display exported into your windows machine. If so, I wanted to know which flavor of linux was used on the EC2. I am not having much success with it on the Amazon Linux but haven't tried their Ubuntu instances yet. I got all the way to getting GGTS installed and getting the display exported but when I launch GGTS I get log errors about libraries missing. This is most likely because I didn't use yum to install it so I am probably missing dependencies but I didn't have a choice its not offered as a yum package.
