• Recomendation for Webshop with API

  I'm searching for a webshop. The problem with my search is, that the webshop-software of my choice needs to have a useabel API or some interface for external applications. E.g. i need to place orders by an external application or need to get product descriptions or warehouse stock from the external application. I somehow would like to have a webshop wehere the webinterface is just one way to interact with the whole system. There are some other requirments, which have to be fullfilled, but i guess they are kind of common: running on linux MySQL (we already have MySQL-replication and backup in place) i like open source but i'm willing to pay for it, if it's worth it I found some webshops on the net - but perhaps you can tell me, if theres any hope for a webshop with a good API before i go and test all of them, on the first look i didn't find any docs about any interface to external applications for any of my search results. • Changing Workspaces changes active window

  I have a dual monitor setup, but I am sure it's the same with a single monitor. If I have two applications open, one is vim, the other is google chrome. Lets say the focus is on vim. If I switch to another workspace (ie. alt3) then switch back to that workspace (ie. alt1) now the focus is on google chrome. This process toggles indefinitely so long as I don't transition too quickly. Is there any way to prevent/disable this?

• Netbeans 7.0.1 not opening

  I am working in Netbeans on Ubuntu for the last 4 months. But today when I opened Netbeans, it just got stuck in the Ubuntu launcher bar at the left side of screen. I have my project pending in Netbeans (which is not opening). I am stuck in this problem. I also rebooted Ubuntu a number of times, still the same. I can't open Netbeans. Why is this happening? What is the cause of this problem? What should I do? tried $gksu netbeans, nothing happens, $ prompt shown again.

• Alt + # shorcut, how to remove?

  Being a World of Warcraft player, I use keyboard combinations to cast spells and "alt + #" is one of the combination, # being the key just before the 1 2 3 4 [...], under "escape" and on top of "tab" (I have a "French(canada)" keyboard). I've searched in the keyboard options, the shorcuts parts and I found nothing, I even tried to assign it randomly, hopping it'll overwrite the real shorcut but it didn't. When I press "alt + #" I have a "alt + tab" like but just for one type of window. For exemple it'll make me navigate through many instances of folder, but it won't switch to another application. It just cycle through the open windows of one application. Help me get rid of this annoying shorcut please ! Thanks in advance.

  I am building myself a new website, out of privacy and security concerns I am contemplating trying to make it https only. It will be mobile-friendly using media queries but I am concerned--especially for mobile users--about the increased bandwidth. How much will doing so increase my bandwidth or slow load times? For pages where I'm not transferring sensitive information, should I leave external links (to a jQuery library, or a web font for instance) in http? Simply put, I have read articles saying the entire web would be more secure if everything was SSL but my actual knowledge of implementation is limited to payment gateways and log-in pages and such. I apologize for the open-ended nature of the question but anything, even just simple answers to the specific questions is welcomed.

• Massive crash and kernel panic after updates yesterday, what now?

  Got 12.04 on an AMD+radeon machine, everything was running fine until last night when the update manager installed new packages, and now the moment I open a browser (firefox, chromium, anything) it crashes instantly. It says warning: at build/buildd/linux-3.5.0/arch/x86/kernel/smp.c:123 native_smp_send_reschedule+0x5b/0x60() Pid: 2432, comm: chrome_dbthread tainted: G D 3.5.0-2generic #2-ubuntu I already tried uninstalling the packages from the update log, didn't solve a thing. Depending of which browser I use I get a different reaction, like a complete freeze instead of a text console crash. Ideas? I really don't know what to do.

• Would opencv be a good choice for image colour summarization?

  I would like to analyse a set of hundreds of thousands of product images (clothing, electronic goods etc) and retrieve the dominant colours in each. I'm only interested in the top 3 or 4 colours. The aim is to achieve a degree of certainty that x image is mostly red or image y is mostly orange and blue. The images are likely to be colour jpegs of reasonable quality and approximately 100kb in size. I would like to use C# and the solution should run on a Linux server, preferably using open source libraries. Would opencv be a good choice for this? What other libraries or specific algorithms might be helpful?

• Easiest Way to Get Started With 3D?

  I'm looking at getting into 3D game development and am wondering what would be the best, quickest engine to get started with. I need to be able to develop on a Macintosh with it. I know Java, and PHP mainly but have worked in many others. At this point, I feel I can adapt to most languages quite easy. So the programming language doesn't really matter to me. I've sorta kinda tried unity in the past and wasn't all too fond of it, so it's kind of a "I can't find anything better" resort. I'm hoping with how open I am I will find something I like more. The members is management team of a company. Along with many features, it has Announcement. When posting Announcement, it has option to upload images. I personally like it public, because the file transfer faster and can be easily integrated with CDN. I just wonder whether I need to make the image public, or only accessible by the members.

• wifi works only after connecting through wire

  I have fresh installed ubuntu 12.04. it is my first ubuntu installation and i'm a bit confused about the network connection. Wifi shows up and connects(at least it shows that the connection is established), but i can't open any pages, i've tried to ping some sites and it fails either. If i try to connect through a wire it works, what is interesting to me is that after i used my wire connection i can use my wifi properly without a wire pluged in. i think it probably has to do with my settings? I tried to find a solution but can figure it out on my own. My Proxy set to none(have applied it system wide) Please help me if you have any clue:)

  I'm running on a clean install of 10.10 Server edition and have alsa-base, alsa-tools, alsa-utils, alsaplayer, and alsa-firmware-loader installed. At one point I installed pulseaudio, but I have since removed it. • Any pre-rolled System.IO abstraction libraries out there for Unit Testing?

  To test methods that use the file system we need to basically put System.IO behind a set of interfaces that we can then mock, I do this with a DiskIO class and interface. As my DiskIO code gets larger (and the grumblings from the we're unconvinced about this TDD thing crowd here in work get louder), I went looking for a comprehensive open source library that already does this and found . . . nothing. I may be looking in the wrong place or have approached this problem in completely the wrong way. I can't be the only idiot in this position, do these libraries exist, if so where are they? Any you've used and would recommend? Thanks P.S. I'm happy with my current approach i.e. starting with what we need, and adding only when the need arises. Unfortunately the we're unconvinced about this TDD thing crowd remain unconvinced, and think that I can't be right.

• Is it possible to save output from a command to a file subsequent the command already has been executed?

  Does an elegant way exists to save the output of a command subsequent to a file as long as the terminal window is open? I mean once the command has been executed in the terminal. The output is still there in terminal. Now i could copy & paste all the lines and save it to a file. But perhaps does a method exist to somehow write the output buffer of a terminal window to a file or even better the output of an already executed command?

• ubuntu 13.10 secondary monitor - doesn't redraw properly

  Hi I've just installed Ubuntu 13.10 on a Lenovo w350 and am having some issues with graphics driver. standard nouveau drivers work great on the laptop display but when I attach an external display it goes bad on the external monitor, seems it's not re-drawing properly. (Photo attached). I've tried other drivers but none of them detect the external monitor when connected. • Screen tearing (very noticable during video playback) with HD3000 AND HD Radeon 6630m

  I did not have this issue with Ubuntu 11.10. Well, to be clear, I did, but it was easily remedied with compiz workarounds. I have tried both the propriety and open source ati drivers, and the intel HD 3000 (as far as I know) should be part of the Kernel already. So I am pretty much 100% stumped given my general lack of Linux knowledge. I really enjoy this OS, would hate to have to return to Windows (read: HATE) because of something as trivial as video playback. Some details: Lenovo Thinkpad Edge e520 Intel HD 3000/AMD HD Radeon 6630m Ubuntu 12.04 64bit.

• How can I remove the "Dash Home" icon from the Unity launcher?

  My notebook has a widescreen display so vertical space is an absolute premium for me. When I installed Ubuntu 11.10 I was disappointed to see that a new icon confusingly named "Dash Home" had been added to the very top of the Unity launcher. I can't move it to the bottom (by dragging it) and it doesn't have a context menu with which to remove it (by unchecking "Keep In Launcher"). It's horrible. How can I remove it from the Unity launcher and reclaim the space that was taken from me? (I realize that if it's removed I'll have to open the dashboard with the super key - I'm fine with that)

• Benefits of TOGAF or similar?

  I can read the website blurb and be impressed by the alleged benefits, but I haven't worked anywhere or with anyone who followed the TOGAF (or any alternative) architecture framework. Our organisation has declared itself dedicated to moving from what is currently a fairly shambolic design & development model towards something approaching a modern structured process. Things like TOGAF have been mentioned as helping achieve a world-class enterprise development environment (!) but I'm convinced that no-one here really understands the real-world benefits that wholesale adoption might bring and, perhaps more importantly, the effort/pain required to achieve the same. Do you have experience in using TOGAF or similar to wrestle control in an organisation? Do you think that use of the framework brought any benefit? • OpenGL ES 2.0. Sprite Sheet Animation

  I've found a bunch of tutorials on how to make this work on Open GL 1 & 1.1 but I can't find it for 2.0. I would work it out by loading the texture and use a matrix on the vertex shader to move through the sprite sheet. I'm looking for the most efficient way to do it. I've read that when you do the thing I'm proposing you are constantly changing the VBO's and that that is not good. Edit: Been doing some research myself. Came upon this two Updating Texture and referring to the one before PBO's. I can't use PBO's since i'm using ES version of OpenGL so I suppose the best way is to make FBO's but, what I still don't get, is if I should create a Sprite atlas/batch and make a FBO/loadtexture for each frame of if I should load every frame into the buffer and change just de texture directions.

• adding pls to rhythmbox

  I try to add .pls radio station to rhythmbox. I download the file and I click musicimport file but nothing happen. I added one station before and it works fine but now it simply does not work. Also when I try to get from the file, click on open with rhythmbox I have the error: Couldn't start playback Problem occurred without error being set. This is a bug in Rhythmbox or GStreamer. I have all medibuntu installed and I have one radio station already playing. I don't know how to proceed from now and what should I check if there is something to fix. Anyone get similar problem? • Get the Windows 7 Start Menu Back in Windows 8 with Classic Shell

  I just thought I’d give readers a heads up that you can use Classic Shell to get the old Windows 7 style of start menu back instead of using the new crappy Windows 8 metro start screen; plus it’s free and open source .  You can still access the metro start screen with Shift+WindowsKey or Shift clicking the start menu button.  This program also defaults to showing the desktop on startup instead of the metro start screen (but that can be disabled), and is super configurable and has tons of options to tweak it just the way you want if you are picky like me   The only thing I would say is when installing the app, only install the Classic Start Menu; you don’t need the other ones. • Why can't I mount the Ubuntu 12.04 installer ISOs in Mac OS X?

  Over the past few days, I have downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit version of server and desktop to install on an Intel based PC. It is normal from within OS X to double click on an ISO and it will mount the ISO in the finder as well as within disk utility. When I attempt to mount any of the Ubuntu ISOs I downloaded, OS X returns the error message The following disk images couldn't be opened. The reason given for the error is no mountable filesystem. However, I am still able to open the ISO directly from disk utility and burn it to a DVD/CD. What has changed in this release to cause this? Is there something wrong with the current ISOs? The OS X machine I am using is only two weeks old and is having no issues with any other ISO.

• Transfer a ssh session between the same physical devices from one network to another

  My server has 2 IP addresses via two networks. Due to some restrictions,my client will be able to access only one of the network at a time. Hence, I want a way to transfer a live ssh session with all the open applications seamlessly from one network to another. The physical devices (client and the server) are the same. What changes is the network through which it connects. can this be done? Thanks!
