• Open Source Errors on Apple Cruch

  I've been looking around and I finally got the full source code called Apple-Crunch from google code. But when I put it into my project, the source code included so many errors in the class files such as: cannot be resolved into a type the constructor is undefined the method method() is undefined for the type Sprite class.java I downloaded the source directly from the command-line and noticed errors popping up on my project. Since i couldn't figure out how to import the actual folder into my workspace(it wouldn't show up on existing projects) I decided to copy and overwrite the folders into the project. The Errors were still there so I looked at the class files and noticed that the classes with errors extended from 'RokonActivity'. I then proceeded to add to the libs folder the rokon library in hopes to fix the errors. Sadly it didn't work and now I don't what to do to fix the errors. How do i fix the errors without having to manually change the code? The source code should be fully functional so why is there errors?

  Why should a programmer ever fork a library for inclusion in a widely used application? I ask this question because I was reading an article about why Chromium isn't packaged for many Linux distros like Fedora. Apparently its largely due to the fact that Google has forked a number of libraries, modified them, and included them in Chromium. This has driven up the complexity of packaging releases. There are a number of reasons why this can be a bad thing, but how strong a case can you actually make for doing so in a large widely used application such as Chromium?   I know it is goofy to geek out about such things, but I am a pretty goofy geek.  Today we published support for the Apple icons for devices like the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.  Now when you add Geekswithblogs.net to your home screen (via the little + in Safari) it will load the icon to the left instead of a screenshot of the site.  We have been using my iPhone and iPad to surf to GWB for awhile and we were tired of that screenshot.  Simple Google/Bing search and a little Photoshop CS5 (Amazing!!!) work and there it is.  Next step we are taking in the Apple iPad/Phone arena is getting our developer kit and seeing what possiblities there are for Geekswithblogs.net and a custom App.  Got any ideas?   It is written everywhere that lack of original content is has a negative impact on ranking. But what is lack of original content? (I am not talking about duplicate content) I guess if you copy other site's content, this makes sense. But, assuming one develops its own functionalities, but similar functionalities are already available on other sites, is this considered lack of original content? Can Google decide to not index such pages (i.e., not give them a chance at all)? Are there other definition of 'lack of original content'?

• How do I make Empathy match my keyring with my password?

  I changed my password a few months ago from the password I first used when I installed Ubuntu on my machine. I tried to add a Google Talk account to Empathy, but every time Empathy gives me a message saying the following: Enter password to unlock your login keyring The password you use to log in to your computer no longer matches that of your login keyring. I do not remember my original password and I'm not sure if I should go to Prefrences Passwords and Keys and delete my login password or if there is a way to change the keyring so that it matches up with my current password.

  Hello , the problem I am having is the ability to fight spammers who add unsubscribe form this mail list by clicking here into their spam emails , turns out i am not the only suffer form this , gmail don't filter these mail as well . i made a simple test case , created an email on gmail and contacted one the spammer asking him to add my address to his list such a bad idea :P and google thought that i am already subscribed to that list and put it in my inbox . these kind of spammer uses many accounts to send their spam which make this job much harder how do i report those spammer , and block them in gmail or mail mail servers ?? what is the fastest way to do that ???

• What is the best HTML specification to be used as of Q1 2011?

  While developing a web application, what is the best spec to use? HTML4.01 HTML5 XHTML trans XHTML1.1 I was taught to use XHTML1.0 strict in uni and to avoid applet/iframe/tables(except in forms). I noticed that some deprecated tags are available in HTML5. Is it safe to code in HTML5? If so should I use target='', and the aforementioned tags? I have noticed that there are many alternatives to choose from including canvas, object. I have no preference, although Iframe tags are being dispensed from sources like Facebook/Google/etc. What would be the best avenue to take for Spec as of now(Feb 2011)?

• My domain PageRank shows as unavailable, why is that?

  My domain, http://www.anovaordemmundial.com , has been snatched by some opportunist when I failed to renew the domain. I know, it's all my fault :/ . After I have being ripped off and bought my domain back, and everything is configured and working, the pagerank for that domain shows as unavailable. Also searches for "nova ordem mundial" (in portuguese), which used to show my domain as the first result in searches in any language, now don't show it anymore. Do you think this is something temporary and it will recover its pagerank after a full crawl by google? There exists hundreds of sites pointing to my domain, that is why I got the previous relevance in searches. The domain is back for more than 5 days already. In reality, bing already Is there anything I can do to help get my domain back to its pagerank??? Thanks for the help!

• Multi-platform Map Application

  I'm working on a web project (PHP, jQuery) which currently using Google Maps powering up the map functionality of the application, however we need to make it multi-platform like you can go to the dashboard and choose one from 5-10 map providers (which Goolge Maps is just one of them) to underlying your map functionality. So, as the application is supposed to show the data on map, almost in every single place we have to deal with the API provided by that specific map provider. Currently we are thinking about revising our modular structure and/or making something like an adapter for each provider to deal with their native syntax but via our standard methods. I wish to have your ideas and your experiences, specially if you ever made an interface for dealing via 2-3 different map providers. That would helps much and I really appreciate that. If you need any further information, just ask me to update the question. Update: As Vicky Chijwani suggested Mapstraction, now I'm also wondering which one is more better (pros & cons), having an adapter implemented on Javascript or PHP?

• Problem in Loading certain Websites in Ubuntu 11.10

  I have a DSL connection in Ubuntu 11.04 and am having problems loading content from certain websites mostly providing CDN services. I have tried every suggestion asked at problem loading internet pages as I have the same problem. Also tried to remove the DNS Cache and Browser Cache. I have tried using Google DNS Server: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but nothing seems to work. Though when I browse the websites in Windows XP then it does not pose any problem. This problem has come up only few days ago and has affected every browser(Chrome, Firefox and Opera) in Ubuntu 11.04. Thanks in advance.

• What's the difference between Microsoft's MCSD and MCPD certications?

  I am looking on the website but the difference between the two isn't explained. To complicate matters a Google search tells me that developers should focus on the MCPD qualifications but an examination of the MCPD section of the site is telling me that the Web Application exams will expire in July 2013! It seems out of date. Meanwhile the MCSD exam seems to be a lot more up to date with references to HTML5/ASP.net 4.5 MVC applications! What's the difference? Are the MCPD certifications going to be updated after July?
