Jquery Ajax not receiving php response correctly

I'm sending a JSON response from php to jquery: foreach ( $obj as $o ) { $a[ $o->key] = utf8_encode($o->id); } die(json_encode($a)); my html/jquery code is: $.ajax({ type:'POST', url: "imoveis/carrega_bairros", data: ({cidade:10}), dataType:"json", success: function(ret) { alert(ret) if(ret.success) { // ... } else alert("error"); } }); The json response is perfect (i get it on the console), but jquery is receiving a NULL ret object and it alerts "error". What's the problem???

Force column order, Excel data table

I have a Excel Workbook that I use as a report template. I change the datasource on each pivot and datatable in a C# app. When I change the datatable datasource it tweeks the columns. Loading large amounts of data to an Oracle SQL Database

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with what I am about to embark on. I have several csv files which are all around a GB or so in size and I need to load them into a an oracle database. While most of my work after loading will be read-only I will need to load updates from time to time. Basically I just need a good tool for loading several rows of data at a time up to my db. Here is what I have found so far: I could use SQL Loader t do a lot of the work I could use Bulk-Insert commands Some sort of batch insert. Using prepared statement somehow might be a good idea. I guess I was wondering what everyone thinks is the fastest way to get this insert done. Any tips?

Parsing data from txt file in J2ME

Basically I'm creating an indoor navigation system in J2ME. I've put the location details in a .txt file i.e. Locations names and their coordinates. Edges with respective start node and end node as well as the weight (length of the node). I put both details in the same file so users dont have to download multiple files to get their map working (it could become time consuming and seem complex). So what i did is to seperate the deferent details by typing out location Names and coordinates first, After that I seperated that section from the next section which is the edges by drawing a line with multiple underscores. Now the problem I'm having is parsing the different details into seperate arrays by setting up a command (while manually tokenizing the input stream) to check wether the the next token is an underscore. If it is, (in pseudocode terms), move to the next line in the stream, create a new array and fill it up with the next set of details. I found a some explanation/code HERE that does something similar but still parses into one array, although it manually tokenizes the input. Any ideas on what to do? How to make my Java Swing application a Client-Server application?

I have made a Java Swing application. Now I would like to make it a Client-Server application. All clients should be notified when data on the server is changed, so I'm not looking for a Web Service. The Client-Server application will be run on a single LAN, it's a business application. The Server will contain a database, JavaDB. What technology and library is easiest to start with? Should I implement it from scratch using Sockets, or should I use Java RMI, or maybe JMS? Or are there other alternatives that are easier to start with? And is there any server library that I should use? Is Jetty an alternative?

insert data into several tables

Let us say I have a table (everything is very much simplified): create table OriginalData ( bla char(10) not null ) And I would like to insert its data (set based!) into two tables which model inheritance create table Statements ( Id int IDENTITY NOT NULL, ProposalDateTime DATETIME null ) create table Items ( StatementFk INT not null, ItemName NVARCHAR(255) null, primary key (StatementFk) ) Statements is the parent table and Items is the child table. I have no problem doing this with one row which involves the use of IDENT_CURRENT but I have no idea how to do this set based (i.e. enter several rows into both tables). Thanks. Tag property null when data binding

Can anyone see what is wrong with this? We have access to balanced dictionary data structure, which supports the operations serach, insert, delete, minimum, maximum each in O(log n) time. We want to retrieve the numbers in sorted order in O(n log n) time using only the insert and in-order traversal. The answer to this is:- Sort() initialize(t) while(not EOF) read(x) insert(x,t); Traverse(t); Now the query is if we read the elements in time "n" and then traverse the elements in "log n"(in-order traversal) time,, then the total time for this algorithm (n+logn)time, according to me.. Please explain the follow up of this algorithm for the time calculation.. How it will sort the list in O(nlogn) time?? Thanks.

Help with regex pulling XML data from response body in PHP

I am working on a project that pulls data from JMS queue using PHP and Zend Framework. The HTTP client response is below. All I need is the XML string. I came up with /(.*)<\/RequestDetails/gs which tests ok on http://gskinner.com/RegExr/ but the preg_match call is returning an empty matches array. C++'s unordered_map / hash_map / Google's dense_hash - how to input binary data (buf+len) and insert

Hi all, I have two questions about Google's dense_hash_map, which can be used instead of the more standard unordered_map or hash_map: How do I use an arbitrary binary data memory segment as a key: I want a buffer+length pair, which may still contain some NUL (\0) characters. I can see how I use a NUL-terminated char * string , but that's not what I want. How do I implement an operation where I look if a key exists, and if not - insert it and if it does return the pointer to the existing key and let me know what actually happened. loading Data in VBA from a text file

I am not very familiar with VBA but need to use it for a new software program I am using (not Microsoft related) I have a text file that has columns of data I would like to read into VBA. Specifically the text file has 4 entries per row. Thus I would like to load in the column vectors (N by 1). The text file is separated by a space between each entry. So for example I want to load in column one and save it as array A, then column two and save as array B, then column three and save as array C, and then column four and save as array D. This code snippet found below from http://www.tek-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=482 is something I found that can load in text to an array, but I need to adapt it to be able to save the columns as different arrays as specified above... Get rid of all user data of Android application after bigger update

Hi, I completely revamped an app. Tested it for a while on my device and emulator. The app worked fine. However when I updated the app through the Android market, my users experienced crashes. Since there is no way to properly debug this procedure I asume the crash is caused by old data which is not being removed from the device (probably from the onsavedstate bundle?!). Is there a way to do a "clean/total" reinstall without having the user to do it manually? Best Regards Johe

Entity Framework 4.1 auto generate with DbContext when creating ADO.NET Entity Data Model

I would like to work with DbContext instead of ObjectContext. I updated EF so now I have the DbContext, but I want to generate my strongly-typed context based on the DbContext and not the ObjectContext. When I add new ADO.NET Entity Data Model, it is still based on the ObjectContext. Is it not possible to have it base off of DbContext in Visual Studio 2010 with EF 4.1? UPDATE: Okay, I followed the directions in this link and was able to generate the DbContext template objects. However, now it is saying there is ambiguity between the template entities and the entities in my .edmx file. How do I resovle this? Do I blow away the ones in the .edmx file?

C# / IronPython Interop and the "float" data type

Working on a project that uses some IronPython scripts to as plug-ins, that utilize functionality coded in C#. In one of my C# classes, I have a property that is of type: Dictionary<int, float> I set the value of that property from the IronPython code, like this: mc = MyClass() mc.ValueDictionary = Dictionary[int, float]({1:0.0, 2:0.012, 3:0.024}) However, when this bit of code is run, it throws the following exception: Microsoft.Scripting.ArgumentTypeException was unhandled by user code Message=expected Dictionary[int, Single], got Dictionary[int, float] To make things weirder, originally the C# code used Dictionary<int, double> but I could not find a "double" type in IronPython, tried "float" on a whim and it worked fine, giving no errors. But now that it's using float on both ends (which it should have been using from the start) it errors, and thinks that the C# code is using the "Single" data type?! I've even checked in the object browser for the C# library and, sure enough, it shows as using a "float" type and not "Single"

I can use regex to extract the info with preg_match_all but I feel this is not the right way as the data is already well structured. Any other method ?

Navigating by foreign keys in ADO.NET Entity Framework/MySQL

I am using ASP.NET MVC2 on top of a MySQL database in VS2008. I am using the MySQL ADO.NET connector 6.2.3 to provide the connection for the ADO.NET Entity Data Model. This is mostly working ok, however navigating via foreign keys is causing me a real headache! Here is a simplified example.. Car (Table) CarID PK Colour Doors ManufacturerID FK Manufacturer (Table) ManufacturerID PK Name In the edmx file I can see the 1-many relationship shown as a navigation property in the both the Car and Manufacturer tables. I create a Models.CarRepository that allows me to returns a IQueryable. At the View I want to be able to display the Manufacturer.Name for each car. This is not accessible via the object I get returned. What is best way to implement this? Have I encountered a limitation of the Entity Framework/MySQL combination?

However what is passed is the reference to the data held by x and not pointer to x itself same is true in JavaScript. Getting data from JFrame AFTER the form is filled

I'm trying to get data for my application from a form set in an external window (getDataWindow extends javax.swing.JFrame). The problem is that functions are executed before form is filled in. getDataWindow dataW=new getDataWindow(); dataW.setVisible(true); size=dataW.returnSize(); I've tried also adding additional boolean variable to getDataWindow getDataWindow dataW=new getDataWindow(); dataW.setVisible(true); while(!dataW.checkIfReady()){wait();} size=dataW.returnSize(); But it makes also the window wait (it appears but it's black inside and nothing happens). I think i should create some threads for that - I've tried to call a window making function getDataWindow in java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable()) but I had to initialize dataW earlier so dataW.checkIfReady() could be called, so it is a catch 22.

Google Contacts Data API and PHP

I'm developing a PHP application to retrieve the list of contacts from a GMail account. I'm looking for a solution which would enable the user of my application to provide the login and password to their Gmail account in my application (as opposed to getting redirected to Google) and then automatically do the retrieval. The retrieval process can be run in PHP or JavaScript (which would then feed the list of contacts back to PHP using Ajax). Is it possible to do that? Which JavaScript API should I use for that? Can someone point me at the right chapter in Google Contacts Data API documentation?

Is NFS capable of preserving order of operations?

I have a diskless host 'A', that has a directory NFS mounted on server 'B'. A process on A writes to two files F1 and F2 in that directory, and a process on B monitors these files for changes. Assume that B polls for changes faster than A is expected to make them. Process A seeks the head of the files, writes data, and flushes. Process B seeks the head of the files and does reads. Are there any guarantees about how the order of the changes performed by A will be detected at B? Specifically, if A alternately writes to one file, and then the other, is it reasonable to expect that B will notice alternating changes to F1 and F2? Or could B conceivably detect a series of changes on F1 and then a series on F2? I know there are a lot of assumptions embedded in the question. For instance, I am virtually certain that, even operating on just one file, if A performs 100 operations on the file, B may see a smaller number of changes that give the same result, due to NFS caching some of the actions on A before they are communicated to B. And of course there would be issues with concurrent file access even if NFS weren't involved and both the reading and the writing process were running on the same real file system. The reason I'm even putting the question up here is that it seems like most of the time, the setup described above does detect the changes at B in the same order they are made at A, but that occasionally some events come through in transposed order. So, is it worth trying to make this work? Is there some way to tune NFS to make it work, perhaps cache settings or something? Or is fine-grained behavior like this just too much expect from NFS?

Data structure for unrooted trees

I'm having problems figuring out how to build an unrooted tree with weighted edges and what data structure to store such a tree. An example of an unrooted tree would be like the one here: http://www.bio.davidson.edu/courses/GENOMICS/seq/unrooted.gif The problem i am having is the leaves would only have 1 link to the internal nodes and the internal nodes would have 3 links(the internal nodes would have 2 children and a link to another internal node). Do i have to distinguish between the 2 different kinds of nodes or can i have one class having the function of both types of nodes?
