    How would you add a delay between certain method being called? This is my code that I want to only trigger 30 times per second: - (void) scrollViewDidScroll: (UIScrollView*)scrollView { [self performSelector:@selector(needsDisplay) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.033]; } - (void) needsDisplay { [captureView setNeedsDisplay]; } If I leave it like this, it only gets called after the user stopped scrolling. What I want to do is call the method when the user is scrolling, but with a delay of 33 milliseconds between each call.

I've tried get :my_method(args) but Ruby interpreter complains about syntax error.

The purpose of this is so that an actor may determine if it is safe to process a request to exit by first determining if any of the remaining mailbox messages are ones that must be processed, instead of just dropped by stopping the actor immediately.

    In dojo, one cannot call a overidden superclass method outside of the same method in the derived class (for which there is this.inherited(), other than that one can call using class_name.function_name.apply). This feature is no longer there because of some refactoring and dojo guys are not going to put it back because they are not convinced about a good enough case for this. Please read this mail thread for details. Isn't there a good enough case for this functionality? Why or why not?

    I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work.     Hi, In order to avoid freezing of GUI, I wanted to run method connecting to DB asynchronously. Therefore I have written this: DelegatLoginu dl = ConnectDB; IAsyncResult ar=dl.BeginInvoke(null, null); bool result = (bool)dl.EndInvoke(ar); But it is still freezing and I do not understand why - I though BeginInvoke assures that method it references is run in another thread. I have a second class, class B, which I would like to use to call the method from class A. But, now how do I call that method from class A and store what is returned in a var in class B?
