  • Problem running latex from FastCGI

    I have a program which does a system call: latex somefile.latex This runs ok, when I type it directly in the command line, or when i invoke the program via CGI. But when it is using FastCGI, the system call returns: This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (TeX Live 2009) ---! Must increase the hyph_size (Fatal format file error; I'm stymied) I already tried to increase the hyph_size but still no effect.

Both let you specify the locale to be used, is the Windows one simply more "complete", due to the available comparison flags? Is one consequently faster than the other? Thanks!

  • Where to find prebuilt binaries for subversion 1.6 for Ubuntu (or Debian)?

    While I can easily find the binaries for the latest version of subversion (1.6) I can't find the binaries for Ubuntu (or Debian). The download page at tigris.org suggest to use the command: apt-get install subversion but as you can experience this will install up to the version 1.5.4 (at the time of writing May 6, 2009). This isn't a nice thing because many working copies that I share with Windows are automatically updated to 1.6 by TortoiseSVN.

    Hopefully there's a simple solution to this. I'm setting up a redirect for old search listings, but I don't want any of the query string to carry over. The current rule is: redirect 301 /blog http://newdomain.com But this would redirect the following: http://www.olddomain.com/blog/2009/11/article-name-etc To this: http://newdomain.com/2009/11/article-name-etc When I just want: http://newdomain.com Can this be done in the simple 301 redirect, or will I have to write a mod_rewrite rule?

My local machine is a running vista home edition and the production environment is windows server 2003. The application is written in asp.net 3.5, wierdly under the asp.net config tab in iis, 3.5 doesn't show up in the drop down list, although that version of the framework is installed. The error is not being thrown in my code, it happens during serialization. I called the method on the proxy, I have checked the arguments and they are OK. I have also logged the SOAP request and response, and they both look OK as well. I am really at a loss here. Any ideas?   • When will Unladen Swallow be "done" or "ready" for real use?

    It looks like Google hasn't updated the results section since the Q4 2009 posting. I've been wondering when it will be put in the Python trunk, and if it's, in any way, production ready. Also, "We aspire to do no original work" is in the Q4 plan. Did Google bite off more than what they could handle, or does anyone know what the real story is?
