  • Paging with Find using Active Record

    I can't seem to find an answer to this question or a good example of how to accomplish what I am trying to do. I'm sure it's been posted or explained somewhere, but I am having trouble finding the exact solution I need. I am using ActiveRecord in Subsonic 3.0.0.3. When I do something like recordset = VehicleModel.Find(x => x.Model.StartsWith(SearchText)); I get back an IList of VehicleModel objects (or more simply a recordset), this is fine until I return too many records. I also cannot order the returned set of records (my grid will do this fine, but i'm sure it will be too slow if i have too many records). Being that Find is returning an IList there isn't much that I can run directly against this (again I may be overlooking something simple so please don't kill me). My question is can someone explain how to find data like i am above, sort it and get a page of data where a page is of size n? Am I going about this wrong? Am I even close to being on the right track?

  • Spring, Jersey and Viewable JSP Integration

    I'm trying to integrate Spring 3.0.5 with Jersey 1.4. I seem to have everything working, but whenever I try and return a Viewable that points to a JSP, I get a 404 error. However, now that I have to use the SpringServlet to get spring integration, I'm at a loss for how to access resources, since I can't use the filter above.     Hello, I'm trying to get a View in Backbone.js to save when there's a 'change' event if (and only if) the data has changed. Long story short, I've a 'change' event set on the View that calls this: function changed_event() { log.debug("Before: " + this.model.get('name')) // not 'contrived!' this.model.set({'name': 'contrived!'}); log.debug("After: " + this.model.get('name')) // 'contrived!' if (this.model.hasChanged()) { alert("This is never called."); } } I'd like to know why the model.hasChanged() is false when clearly the model has been changed.   • Is it possible to use OAuth starting from the service provider website?

    I want to let people create apps that use my API and authenticate them with OAuth. Normally this process starts from the consumer service website (say TwitPic) and they request an access token from the service provider (Twitter). The user is then taken to the service provider website where they have to allow/deny access to to the consumer. I'm wondering if it's possible to initiate this process from the service provider website instead. So in this example you would start on Twitter's site, and maybe there is a section marked "do you want to turn on access for TwitPic?". If you click yes, it passes the access token directly to TwitPic which now has access to your account. Basically, fewer steps. I'm looking at the OAuth docs and it looks like the request token is generated on the consumer side and used later to turn it into an access token. So it's not really designed with what I described above in mind, but I thought there might be a way. http://oauth.net/core/1.0/ (Search for "steps") Thanks!

  • Common DataAnnotations in ASP.Net MVC2

    Howdy, I have what should be a simple question. I have a set of validations that use System.CompontentModel.DataAnnotations . I have some validations that are specific to certain view models, so I'm comfortable with having the validation code in the same file as my models (as in the default AccountModels.cs file that ships with MVC2). But I have some common validations that apply to several models as well (valid email address format for example). When I cut/paste that validation to the second model that needs it, of course I get a duplicate definition error because they're in the same namespace (projectName.Models). So I thought of removing the common validations to a separate class within the namespace, expecting that all of my view models would be able to access the validations from there. Unexpectedly, the validations are no longer accessible. I've verified that they are still in the same namespace, and they are all public. I wouldn't expect that I would have to have any specific reference to them (tried adding using statement for the same namespace, but that didn't resolve it, and via the add references dialog, a project can't reference itself (makes sense). So any idea why public validations that have simply been moved to another file in the same namespace aren't visible to my models?   • Wordpress add_meta_box() weirdness

    The code below is working nearly flawlessly, however my value for page title on one of my pages keeps coming up empty after a few page refreshes... It sticks for awhile, then it appears to reset to empty. I'm thinking I must have a conflict in the code below, but I can't quite figure it. I'm allowing the user to set a custom page title for posts as well as pages via a custom "post/page title input field).   • Adding custom valiadtion to ASP.NET controls

    We're trying to build a simple asp control for some clients where they can just drop in a single block - i.e. <captcha:CaptchaControl ID="CaptchaControl1" runat="server" Server="http://localhost:51947/" /> and have it render the control. The catch is that I can't get this to include custom validation. Right now I'm using the RenderContents function to display the layout of the control itself as well as hook it up the to Javascript.   • Convert UIViews made programmatically to UIScrollViews

    So I have a bunch of UIViews that I made programmatically and placed a bunch of content on (UIButtons, UILabels, UINavigationBars, etc.), and most of these views are going to need to actually be UIScrollViews instead. Now keep in mind I made all these through code not the Interface Builder. What I first tried was to just change each declaration of a UIView to a UIScrollView instead, and that compiled and ran fine, however, they were not scrollable. It's REALLY weird.   • Ibatis startBatch() only works with SqlMapClient's own start and commit transactions, not with Sprin

    Hi, I'm finding that even though I have code wrapped by Spring transactions, and it commits/rolls back when I would expect, in order to make use of JDBC batching when using Ibatis and Spring I need to use explicit SqlMapClient transaction methods. I.e. this does batching as I'd expect: dao.getSqlMapClient().startTransaction(); dao.getSqlMapClient().startBatch(); int i = 0; for (MyObject obj : allObjects) { dao.storeChange(obj); i++; if (i % DB_BATCH_SIZE == 0) { dao.getSqlMapClient().executeBatch(); dao.getSqlMapClient().startBatch(); } } dao.getSqlMapClient().executeBatch(); dao.getSqlMapClient().commitTransaction(); but if I don't have the opening and closing transaction statements, and rely on Spring to manage things (which is what I want to do!), batching just doesn't happen. Given that Spring does otherwise seem to be handling its side of the bargain regarding transaction management, can anyone advise on any known issues here? (Database is MySQL; I'm aware of the issues regarding its JDBC pseudo-batch approach with INSERT statement rewriting, that's definitely not an issue here)

    Wordpress provides a function called "the_permalink()" that returns, you guessed it!, the permalink to a given post while in a loop of posts.   • C# .NET MVC Call an action from another controller

    I have two different objects: contracts, and task orders. My requirements specify that in order to view the Details for either object, the Url should be "http://.../Contract/Details" or "http://.../TaskOrder/Details" depending on which type. They are both very similar and the details pages are almost identical, so I made a class that can either be a contract or a task order, and has a variable "objectTypeID" that says which type it is. I wrote the action "Details" in the task order controller, but now I want to call that from the contract controller instead of recopying the code. So is there any way to have the url still say ".../Contract/Details" but call the action in the TaskOrder controller instead? I tried using TaskOrderController TOController = new TaskOrderController(); TOController.Details(id); This would have worked except that I can't use the HttpContext.Session anymore, which I used several times in the action.

  • Strong name, Manifest, and Code Signing

I'm doing this from the command prompt for a .Net app. I was able to do just strong name and code signing successfully, but when I tried all three, it doesn't look like it worked (== Vista still trying to run the app with elevated privileges resulting in a prompt, though I set the requestedexecutionlevel at asInvoker) Thanks in advance

  • Producing CCITT compressed TIFF from CGImage

    I have a CGImage (core graphics, C/C++). It's grayscale. Well, originally it was B/W, but the CGImage may be RGB. That shouldn't matter. I want to create a CCITT-Group 4 TIFF. I can create an LZW TIFF (grayscale or color) via creating a destination with the correct dictionary and adding the image in. No problem. However, there doesn't seem to be an equivalent kCGImagePropertyTIFFCompression value to represent CCITT-4. It should be 4, but that produces uncompressed. I have a manual CCITT compression routine, so if I can get the binary (1 bit per pixel) data, I'm set. But I can't seem to get 1 BPP data out of a CGImage. I have code that is supposed to put the CGImage into a CGBitmapContext and then give me the data, but it seems to be giving me all black. I've asked a couple of questions today trying to get at this, but I just figured, lets ask the question I REALLY want answered and see if someone can answer it. There's GOT to be a way to do this. I've got to be missing something dumb. What is it?

  • NSPredicate case-insensitive matching on to-many relationship

    I am implementing a search field where the user can type in a string to filter the items displayed in a view. Each object being displayed has a keywords to-many relationship, and I would like to be able to filter the objects based on their keywords. Each keyword object has a name property, so I've set up an NSPredicate to do the filtering that looks like this: NSPredicate* predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"keywords.name CONTAINS %@", self.searchString]; This works, but the problem is that the search is case-sensitive, so if the keyword has a capital letter but the user types in all lowercase, no matches are found. I've tried the following modification: NSPredicate* predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"keywords.name CONTAINS[c] %@", self.searchString]; But that doesn't make any difference in the case sensitivity of the matching. Is there a way to do this case-insensitive matching using just a plain predicate? Or will I need to implement some sort of custom accessor on the keyword class, e.g. write a lowercaseName method and match against a lowercased version of the search string instead? Addendum: After further exploration, the workaround of adding a custom accessor works OK for manual use of NSPredicate, but does not work at all when using NSFetchRequest with Core Data, which only works when querying attributes defined in the Core Data model.

  • How should I clean up hung grandchild processes when an alarm trips in Perl?

    I have a parallelized automation script which needs to call many other scripts, some of which hang because they (incorrectly) wait for standard input. That's not a big deal because I catch those with alarm. The trick is to shut down those hung grandchild processes when the child shuts down. I thought various incantations of SIGCHLD, waiting, and process groups could do the trick, but they all block and the grandchildren aren't reaped. My solution, which works, just doesn't seem like it is the right solution. I'm not especially interested in the Windows solution just yet, but I'll eventually need that too. Mine only works for Unix, which is fine for now. I wrote a small script that takes the number of simultaneous parallel children to run and the total number of forks: $ fork_bomb <parallel jobs> <number of forks> $ fork_bomb 8 500 This will probably hit the per-user process limit within a couple of minutes. Many solutions I've found just tell you to increase the per-user process limit, but I need this to run about 300,000 times, so that isn't going to work. Similarly, suggestions to re-exec and so on to clear the process table aren't what I need. I'd like to actually fix the problem instead of slapping duct tape over it. I crawl the process table looking for the child processes and shut down the hung processes individually in the SIGALRM handler, which needs to die because the rest of real code has no hope of success after that.   • eclipse xdebug session never completes

    I am trying to get xdebug working with eclipse (3.5) / php (on xampp windows 7). I have verified xdebug is enabled in php - I have the fancy output and my phpinfo shows all the xdebug stuff. I have remote debug on, and typed in the lan ip address on my eclipse machine. When I tell eclipse to debug, it launches the browser and passes the debug URL parameters. That looks OK. However, in eclipse debug perspective it shows 'launching myproject' 57% 'waiting for xdebug session'. It sits there forever. I have turned off windows firewall on both machines. I tried turning implicit flush on. Any ideas?

    I'm a noob with jQuery...and I hope I've explained this well enough; I have a <ul> header that appears when I've added an entry to a dynamically created list using $.post. Each entry added has a delete/edit button associated with it. Header is this: <ul class="header"> <li>Month</li> <li>Year</li> <li>Cottage</li> </ul> My dynamic list that is created: <ul class="addedItems"> <li>Month</li> <li>Year</li> <li>Cottage</li> <li><span class="edit">edit</span></li> <li><span class="del">delete</span></li> </ul> This all looks like this: Month Year Cottage <--this appears after I've added an entry -------------------------------- and I want it to stick around unless all items are deleted.   • Using custom request and custom redirect with Contact Form 7

    I have several sites that I want to link back to the main site which hosts the contact form (using contact form 7). I would like to capture the request parameter "site-url" on incoming links to the contact form. Then when the user submits the form, I would like to redirect them back to the site specified in the site-url. Any ideas if this is possible with contact form 7? I would also like to add a special field in the contact form which would insert the site-url into the email that i get so that I know which site they were referred from.

Currently, the format looks like this: {{ value|filesizeformat }} I understand I need to define this in my view.py file but, I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I've tried to use the syntax below: def filesizeformat(bytes): """ Formats the value like a 'human-readable' file size (i.e. 13 KB, 4.1 MB, 102 bytes, etc).
