  • How to make XmlnsDefinition work on the local assembly?

    I've started using the XmlnsDefinition attribute to tie together some CLR namespaces into a single xmlns for convenience in XAML. Unfortunately, it seems that this only works when using foreign assemblies. If I have a XAML file in the same assembly as the types that are in the namespace I'm referencing from XmlnsDefinition, then it says the type does not exist in the xmlns I am defining. Moving the type to a foreign assembly fixes the problem. Is there a way to use XmlnsDefinition on an assembly and have it be used from within that assembly via XAML?

  • Change the install directory for an OSX Package

    It drives me nuts that every time I download a binary to run on OSX that it wants to install in system directories. ~/Applications is a perfectly fine place to install and doesn't require blindly authenticating somebody else's binary. Is there a way to change the install directory for packages? On a few I've been able to open the package and edit the plist to install it elsewhere, but that doesn't work universally. I install from source when I can, but it isn't always an option. Is there a good way to force the installer to use ~/Applications?

  • Simple MySQL Query taking 45 seconds (Gets a record and its "latest" child record)

    I have a query which gets a customer and the latest transaction for that customer. Currently this query takes over 45 seconds for 1000 records. This is especially problematic because the script itself may need to be executed as frequently as once per minute! I believe using subqueries may be the answer, but I've had trouble constructing it to actually give me the results I need. SELECT customer.CustID, customer.leadid, customer.Email, customer.FirstName, customer.LastName, transaction.*, MAX(transaction.TransDate) AS LastTransDate FROM customer INNER JOIN transaction ON transaction.CustID = customer.CustID WHERE customer.Email = '".$email."' GROUP BY customer.CustID ORDER BY LastTransDate LIMIT 1000 I really need to get this figured out ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Expression Blend doesn't recognize comand objects declared in code behind file

    I have a WPF UserControl. The code behind file declares some RoutedUICommand objects which are referenced in the XAML. The application builds and runs just fine. However Expression Blend 3 cannot load the XAML in the designer and gives errors like this one: The member "ResetCameraComand" is not recognized or accessible. The class and the member are both public. Building and rebuilding the project in Blend and restarting Blend hasn't helped. Any ideas what the problem is?     I have an IIS 6 server hosting a website that is authenticated with NTLM. I would like to turn on anonymous access to most resources, such as css, icons, and javascript. I noticed, using Fiddler, that an NTLM handshake is occuring for all resources pulled from WebResource.axd and other HTTP handlers I am using. How do I turn authentication off on a file that doesn't really exist?

  • Thinking Sphinx - sorting by a string attribute gets out of sync when changes are made

    I have a "restaurants" table with a "name" column. I've defined the following index: indexes "REPLACE(UPPER(restaurants.name), 'THE ', '')", :as => :restaurant_name, :sortable => true ... because I want to sort the restaurant names without respect to the prefix "The ". My problem is that whenever one of these records is updated (in any way) the new record jumps to the top of the sort order. If another record is updated, it also jumps ahead of the rest. I end up with two lists: a list of restaurants that have been updated since the last re-indexing and a list of those that haven't. Each respective list is in alphabetical order, but I don't understand why the overall list is getting segregated this way. I do have a delayed delta index set up, and I assume the issue is related to this.

  • How do I bring Set Focus of MDI Child Window using UIAutomation

    We have an old legacy application we need to automate. It uses MDI Windows. We're using UIAutomation and I can succesfully get the appropriate AutomationElement for each MDI Child window. What I cannot do is bring that element into focus. Here is some example code that I tried, that fails: var desktop = AutomationElement.RootElement; var dolphin = desktop.FindFirst(TreeScope.Children, new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.NameProperty, "Dolphin for Windows", PropertyConditionFlags.IgnoreCase)); dolphin.SetFocus(); var workspace = dolphin.FindFirst(TreeScope.Children, new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.NameProperty, "Workspace", PropertyConditionFlags.None)); var childWindow = workspace.FindFirst(TreeScope.Children, new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.NameProperty, "Sharp ")); childWindow.SetFocus(); The last line in this code fails with System.InvalidOperationException Experimenting, I tried finding a control on the childWindow, and calling SetFocus on it. It DID correctly set the focus on the right control, but it did not bring the MDI window to the foreground. Any ideas?

  • Binary comparison operators on generic types

    I have a generic class that takes a type T. Within this class I have a method were I need to compare a type T to another type T such as: public class MyClass<T> { public T MaxValue { // Implimentation for MaxValue } public T MyMethod(T argument) { if(argument > this.MaxValue) { // Then do something } } } The comparison operation inside of MyMethod fails with Compiler Error CS0019. Is it possible to add a constraint to T to make this work? I tried adding a where T: IComparable<T> to the class definition to no avail.

    Here is a test framework to show what I am doing, just create a new project add a tabbed control, on tab 1 put a button on tab 2 put a check box (default names) and paste this code for its code public partial class Form1 : Form { private List<bool> boolList = new List<bool>(); BindingSource bs = new BindingSource(); public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); boolList.Add(false); bs.DataSource = boolList; checkBox1.DataBindings.Add("Checked", bs, ""); } bool updating = false; private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { updating = true; boolList[0] = true; bs.ResetBindings(false); Application.DoEvents(); updating = false; } private void checkBox1_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!updating) MessageBox.Show("CheckChanged fired outside of updating"); } } The issue is if you run the program and look at tab 2 then press the button on tab 1 the program works as expected, however if you press the button on tab 1 then look at tab 2 the event for the checkbox will not fire untill you look at tab 2. The reason for this is the controll on tab 2 is not in the "created" state, so its binding to change the checkbox from unchecked to checked does not happen until after the control has been "Created". checkbox1.CreateControl() does not do anything because according to MSDN CreateControl does not create a control handle if the control's Visible property is false. You can either call the CreateHandle method or access the Handle property to create the control's handle regardless of the control's visibility, but in this case, no window handles are created for the control's children. I tried getting the value of Handle(there is no CreateHandle for Button) but still the same result. Any suggestions other than have the program quickly flash all of my tabs that have data-bound check boxes when it first loads?

  • Jquery UI Datepicker not displaying

    UPDATE I have reverted back to Jquery 1.3.2 and everything is working, not sure what the problem is/was as I have not changed anything else apart of the jquery and ui library versions. UPDATE END I having an issue with the JQuery UI datepicker. The datepicker is being attached to a class and that part is working but the datepicker is not being displayed. Here is the datepicker code I am using and the inline style that is being generated when I click in the input box that has the class ".datepicker". $('.datepicker').datepicker({dateFormat:'dd/mm/yy'}); display:none; left:418px; position:absolute; top:296px; z-index:1; If I change the display:none to display:block the datepicker works fine except it dosen't close when I select a date.   • best way to switch between secure and unsecure connection without bugging the user

    The problem I am trying to tackle is simple. I have two pages - the first is a registration page, I take in a few fields from the user, once they submit it takes them to another page that processes the data, stores it to a database, and if successful, gives a confirmation message. Here is my issue - the data from the user is sensitive - as in, I'm using an https connection to ensure no eavesdropping. After that is sent to the database, I'd like on the confirmation page to do some nifty things like Google Maps navigation (this is for a time reservation application). The problem is by using the Google Maps api, I'd be linking to items through a unsecure source, which in turn prompts the user with a nasty warning message. I've browsed around, Google has an alternative to enterprise clients, but it costs $10,000 a year. What I am hoping is to find a workaround - use a secure connection to take in the data, and after it is processed, bring them to a page that isn't secure and allows me to utilize the Google Maps API. If any of you have a Netflix account you can see exactly what I would like to do when you sign-in, it is a secure page, which then takes you to your account / queue, on an unsecure page.     I am using PHP's magic __set and __get methods to access a private array in a class. I want to make sure the property names requested (i.e. $myObj->FakeProperty) are valid according to PHP property name rules before accessing them. My current RegEx isn't doing the trick; with my test values, _12 always falls through the cracks. I'm not actually sure that my test values even represent a realistic representation of what is and isn't allowed for PHP class property names, but I'm not really too concerned about it, just that I have some sort of rudimentary check in place.   • Another IKImageView Question: copying a region

    I'm trying to use the select and copy feature of the IKImageView. If all you want to do is have an app with an image, select a portion and copy it to the clipboard, it's easy. You set the copy menu pick to the first responder's copy:(id) method and magically everything works. However, if you want something more complicated, like you want to copy as part of some other operation, I can't seem to find the method to do this. IKImageView doesn't seem to have a copy method, it doesn't seem to have a method that will even tell you the selected rectangle! I have gone through Hillegass' book, so I understand how the clipboard works, just not how to get the portion of the image out of the view... Now, I'm starting to think that I made a mistake in basing my project on IKImageView, but it's what Preview is built on (or so I've read), so I figured it had to be stable... and anyway, now it's too late, I'm too deep in this to start over... So, other than not using IKImageView, any suggestions on how to copy the select region to the clipboard manually? EDIT actually, I have found the copy(id) method, but when I call it, I get <Error>: CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported parameter combination: 8 integer bits/component; 16 bits/pixel; 1-component color space; kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast; 2624 bytes/row. Which obviously doesn't happen when I do a normal copy through the first-responder... I understand the error message, but I'm not sure where it's getting those parameters from... Is there any way to trace through this and see how this is happening? A debugger won't help for obvious reasons, as well as the fact that I'm doing this in Mozilla, so a debugger isn't an option anyway... EDIT 2 It occurs to me that the copy:(id) method I found may be copying the VIEW rather than copying a chunk of the image to the clipboard, which is what I need. The reason I thought it was the clipboard copy is that in another project, where I'm copying from an IKImageView to the clipboard straight from the edit menu, it just sends a copy:(id) to the firstResponder, but I'm not actually sure what the firstresponder does with it...

When I click my save button to push my changes in my data table to my sql server the value in the data table is never changed.   • Store JsTree order back into database

    Hi I am using JsTree and got some of it working with my database. Such as deleting a node, renaming a node, etc. I am having problems with saving the ROOT folders order back to the database. When I move the root folders, it doesnt save order. When I move the sub folders around, it saves order fine. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?   • Problem Linking Boost Filesystem Library in Microsoft Visual C++

    Hello. I am having trouble getting my project to link to the Boost (version 1.37.0) Filesystem lib file in Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. The Filesystem library is not a header-only library. I have been following the Getting Started on Windows guide posted on the official boost web page. Here are the steps I have taken: I used bjam to build the complete set of lib files using: bjam --build-dir="C:\Program Files\boost\build-boost" --toolset=msvc --build-type=complete I copied the /libs directory (located in C:\Program Files\boost\build-boost\boost\bin.v2) to C:\Program Files\boost\boost_1_37_0\libs. In Visual C++, under Project Properties Additional Library Directories I added these paths: C:\Program Files\boost\boost_1_37_0\libs C:\Program Files\boost\boost_1_37_0\libs\filesystem\build\msvc-9.0express\debug\link-static\threading-multi I added the second one out of desperation. It is the exact directory where libboost_system-vc90-mt-gd-1_37.lib resides. In Configuration Properties C/C++ General Additional Include Directories I added the following path: C:\Program Files\boost\boost_1_37_0 Then, to put the icing on the cake, under Tools Options VC++ Directories Library files, I added the same directories mentioned in step 3. Despite all this, when I build my project I get the following error: fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_system-vc90-mt-gd-1_37.lib' Additionally, here is the code that I am attempting to compile as well as a screen shot of the aformentioned directory where the (assumedly correct) lib file resides: #include "boost/filesystem.hpp" // includes all needed Boost.Filesystem declarations #include <iostream> // for std::cout using boost::filesystem; // for ease of tutorial presentation; // a namespace alias is preferred practice in real code using namespace std; int main() { cout << "Hello, world!" << endl; return 0; } Can anyone help me out?   • Can you let users upload Sinatra apps and run them inside Rails as middleware?

    I want to let users write small custom apps (think themes or plugins on Wordpress) and upload/run them on my site. I'm thinking about using Sinatra apps for this since it would give the users a lot of flexibility, and then running them as middleware inside my rails app. But I can't figure out the security implications of this. I tried creating a simple sinatra app as middleware, and it has access to all the rails models and everything - so that is bad. Is there a way for rack to keep these separate so that the sinatra apps are effectively sandboxed and can't do any bad things (outside of an API or some specific way I setup for them to communicate)? There may be an easier way to accomplish this that I haven't thought of too, so ideas welcome. Thanks!
