  Trying to set radial gradient to the bg. The problem is, all other browsers shows gradient, on Firefox doesn't. What's wrong? • CSS menu broken in Firefox (display:table-cell;)

If i turn off "display:table-cell;" style in Firebug and then turn it back on, it fixes that menu node. any ideas? p.s.: i don't want to mess with the menu itself, since it's a part of a DNN Forum 4.4.3. I'd rather fix the CSS to make it show correctly.

• Completely bizarre Firefox CSS bug

  I've been doing front end development for a long time, and I have NEVER come across a bug like this before... Save the following HTML to a file and view it in Firefox (mine is 3.6.3): <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <style type="text/css"> body { font-family: Helvetica, Sans-Serif;} h2 {font-weight: normal;} </style> </head> <body> <h2>Some normal text <strong>some bold text</strong> weird huh?</h2> </body> </html> If you don't want to give it a shot the output is like your cat walked across your keyboard while character map was turned on, except in the strong tags. I feel like this may be a font issue? When I get rid of font-weight: normal it goes back to normal, but I don't want everything to be bolded in my h2... Anyone have any ideas? More importantly, is anyone able to reproduce this?? Thanks.

• Odd DOM Problem with Firefox

  Hello. I'm experiencing an odd problem when trying to navigate through a table's rows and cells in a while loop using javascript. I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Win7 with Firebug enabled. I have this markup: <table> <tbody> <tr id='firstRow'><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> </tbody> </table> And this javascript: var row = document.getElementById('firstRow'); console.log(row); // Row call 1 while (row) { console.log(row); // Row call 2 row = row.nextSibling; } The problem I'm having is that on the line commented "Row call 1", Firebug is outputting <tr id='firstRow'> as expected. However, in the while loop, Firebug is giving me <tr id='firstRow'> <TextNode textContent="\n"> It is giving me different output for the exact same row, even immediately after the while loop begins executing and nothing else touched the row. For subsequent rows, it of course does not have id='firstRow' as an attribute. The bigger problem this is giving me is that if I'm in the while loop, and I want to access a particular cell of the current row using row.cells[0], Firebug will give me an error that row.cells is undefined. I want to know if someone could shed some light on this situation I am experiencing.

• jQuery code working in Safari and Chrome but not Firefox

  I'm got a site that has a long list of tweets, and as you scroll down the right column follows you down, showing stats on the tweets. (See it in action at http://www.grapevinegame.com . Click 'memorise', then 'skip' to get to the list page. Works in Safari and Chrome). I'm using jQuery to update the top-margin of the right column, increasing it as I scroll down. It seems to be working fine in webkit-based browsers, but doesn't budge in Firefox. • firefox and javascript redirection

  Hello there, I currently have a issue with firefox, where all other browser behave in the right way - even IE6! What I want to do is redirection to a subpage but leaving a history entry. There are 2 methods of rewriting the url as far as I know: window.location = "some.url"; - redirect to some.url with history entry window.location.replace("some.url"); - redirect without history entry So I have to use the first one and tested in the firebug console everthing works fine. Now there is the kind of strange part of this question: the same statement, that worked fine in the console doesn't in some jQuery callback handler: jQuery("#selector").bind("submit", function() { $.getJSON("some_cool_json", function(response) { var redirect_path = response.path; window.location = redirect_path; }); return false; }); where response_path is set correctly, I checked it! • Ajax Rich Internet Application framework for Linux + Firefox _AND_ iPhone consumption

  For a zero-budget (e.g. University) project we need to build a rich web UI for Firefox and iPhone clients. Firm requirement: all technologies to be free and open-source. Nice-to-have: all development to be done in Java/Eclipse. I generally like the Google's AppEngine + GWT combo but this project will require much more interactivity than what's in GWT 2.0. Something along the lines of: http://www.smartclient.com/smartgwt/showcase/. I know trusty plain ol' GWT won't cut it this time. Straight question: is there something that does the sort of thing that SmartGWT does and works really well on Safari/iPhone? I would say the mobile experience is even more important for this project than the desktop one. Optional question: perhaps this is not the best route to go at all? How could we otherwise render a rich UI with such capabilities and interactivity on both screen sizes? Windows, drag-and-drop, advanced tabs, dynamic grids... We don't need to support any other mobile devices. Yet. ;-)

• Javascript/Canvas/Images scaling problem in Firefox

  I have a problem with the context2d's drawImage function. Whenever I scale an image, it gets a dark border of one pixel, which is kind of ugly. That does only happen in Firefox, not in Opera or Webkit. Is this an antialiasing problem? For hours I studied the examples and available documentation without getting rid of it... I couldn't yet try it on another computer so maybe just maybe it's an issue with the graphics hardware/drivers.   Hi guys, I have a PHP form validation function that I developed in chrome and now will not work in firefox or Opera. The function checks to see if a section of the form is blank and shows and error message. If the box is not ticked the form submits. If the box is ticked it does not matter whether there is data in the dj_amount.value or not. The form will not submit and no error messages are displayed. Key presses (arrows or 1-5) should have no effect (i.e. The events should be cancelled so that the number never changes from the initial default "3"). [I have separate working code for IE too].   hello, I'm doing full screen background change system with jquery. When enter to site makes full screen size default background, and when click button must change background. Everythink works fine on opera! But FireFox nothink happend. I think problem is with attr function, please help found problem. • click event working in Chrome but error in Firefox and IE

  I am writing a messaging system with jquery. When you click on a thread title with the class '.open_message', It opens a thread with all the messages for that thread via Ajax. My issue is that when the thread title is clicked it is not recognizing the id attribute for that specific thread title in firefox and IE. It works fine in chrome, though. • Using the Reactive Extensions with the Silverlight Toolkit and MEF

  I have come across several instances of people having trouble using the new Reactive Extensions (v1.0.2317) in projects that reference the Silverlight Toolkit (Nov09) due to the fact that the original release of the Rx Framework (v1.0.0.0) was bundled with the Toolkit.  The trouble really becomes evident if you are using the Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) to discover and compose portions of your application.   If you are using the CompositionInitializer, or any other mechanism that probes all of the loaded assemblies for valid exports, you will likely receive the following error: Inspecting the LoaderExceptions property yields the following: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Reactive, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b331ac6720247d9' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.  File name: 'System.Reactive, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b331ac6720247d9' This is due to some of the Toolkit assemblies referencing the older System.Reactive.dll.  I was able to work around the issue by bypassing the automatic probing of loaded assemblies and instead specified which assemblies my exports could be found.     public MainPage()     {         InitializeComponent();           // the following line causes a ReflectionTypeLoadException         //CompositionInitializer.SatisfyImports(this);           // skip the toolkit assemblies by specifying assemblies         var catalog = new AssemblyCatalog(GetType().Assembly);         var container = new CompositionContainer(catalog);         container.ComposeParts(this);           ShowReferences();     } With some simple xaml, I was able to print out exactly which libraries are currently loaded in the application.   I am new to a lot of server configurations and options. I want to add extra php libraries/extensions to my server. Where do I add them? (I am on a CENTOS 6.5 VPS) For example, I want to add the phpseclib php extension: Their website instructions are minimum: Usage This library is written using the same conventions that libraries in the PHP Extension and Application Repository (PEAR) used to be written in (current requirements break PHP4 compatibility). In particular, this library needs to be in your include_path: <?php set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . 'phpseclib'); include('Net/SSH2.php'); ?> It tells me how to use it, but it doesn't tell me where to add the actual extension files. Should I added it under? usr/local/lib ? usr/local/lib/php ? usr/local/lib/php/pear ? Or can I add it under public_html? Also, my VPS has several users under /home/.. is that away to make the library available for only one user?
