• AS2 acts randomly when changing scenes on the first frame

  I have a flash movie containing to scenes: scene1, scene2. I have chosen the order so that scene1 starts first, I was requested to add a functionality to allow flashvars to be passed, if fv_change equals one then scene2 should be the first to appear when the movie is loaded. I have included the following code in scene1 first frame of some layer: this.onEnterFrame = function() { delete this.onEnterFrame; if (isset==undefined && _root.fv_change && _root.fv_change==1) { isset = true; gotoAndStop("scene2",1); } } when testing in my flash environment everything worked fine, when I exported it to an HTML & SWF combo I got random results, I refreshed the page several times and some of the times scene2 appeared and some of the times it stayed with scene1. Am I doing something wrong? what is the correct way to change scene order using AS2 and external data(flashvars for that matter).

• When to draw/layout child controls in UserControl

  I have a list-type UserControl (like a ListBox). The items inside the control are another complex UserControl containing a few other controls (ComboBox, TextBox, etc). I'm wondering what the preferred or best method would be to override to draw/layout the child controls. I basically want to trigger this method any time the list changes. I originally had a RedrawItems method that I just called whenever I needed to redraw which added or removed Controls from the Controls collection. But it was getting triggered too early in the lifecycle of the code from some of the designer code. Now I've switched to overriding OnLayout and doing my stuff there. I call PerformLayout when I want to trigger a redraw, such as when the DataSource property changes or when it fires a changed event. Is OnLayout the best place for this?   I's my first time installing Linux/Apache. I loaded CentOS and LAMPP on a machine attached to a LAN. Turned off http and mysql (because I didn't want conflict with LLAMPP) chkconfig httpd off chkconfig mysqld off then successfully LAMPP started with /opt/lampp/lampp start Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7.3a... XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL (and PHP5)... XAMPP: Starting MySQL... XAMPP: Starting ProFTPD... XAMPP for Linux started. Problem: Unable to connect - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 179.16.51.36. I need some pointers as to where to look next.   According to Wikipedia: An object is first-class when it: can be stored in variables and data structures can be passed as a parameter to a subroutine can be returned as the result of a subroutine can be constructed at runtime has intrinsic identity (independent of any given name) Somebody had once told me that raw pointers are not first class objects while smart pointers like std::auto_ptr are. But to me, a raw pointer (to an object or to a function) in C++ does seem to me to satisfy the conditions stated above to qualify as a first class object. Am I missing something?

• Jquery select first letter?

  I am simply attempting to get jquery to identify the first letter of a paragraph. How would I do this? For example, I have a page with a number of paragrahs on a page. I would like only the paragraphs starting with a specified letter to be given the class "current" and all others to be hidden. I pretty much know how to add the class and hide the others but, I cant get jquery to recognize the first letter. Secondly, is it possible to pull this 'first letter' variable from the url string? For example, Page 1 - There is a list of letters. The user clicks 'B' and the url is http://domain.com/page2.html?letter=b And page2 picks up that variable (b) and applies it to the Jquery, showing only those paragraphs

• Custom inputAccessoryView push my UITableView first row partially off the screen

  Hi For my scenario, I have a UITableView with a UITextField for the first row. While I try to set custom toolbar for keyboard with UITextField.inputAccessoryView, it pushed my first row of textfield partially off the screen. This is not happening if I avoid adding the toolbar. Refer screen shot below: I tried with NSNotification with keyboardWillShow by reposition to first row of the tableview, but it just look awkward for the table pulling out and in. It might be something to do overriding UITableView/UIScrollView, but I am out of idea how to do this. Would like to know how you guys resolve this. Thanks you!

  I'm going crazy staring at this. I need to change the attribute of an element, something which I have done many times before. But it fails. Now I can't even get jquery to show me the attribute that it has. Does it have to do with what is returned by find()? var c = new_photo_div.find('[class = photo]')[0]; alert(c); alert(new_photo_div.attr('class')); alert(c.attr('class')); The first alert correctly identifies the element: Object HTMLImageElement The second alert correctly gives me the class of new_photo_div.   In my project I take a string from user and then I need to check if vowels a, e, I, O, U are present. If so, I have to find out which one comes first in the string and which one comes next after that. For example, if a user gave input something like this: char expr[] = "this is for something real"; I comes first, then I again, then O and so on. I checked whether the characters are in the string or not using strchr(expr,'character here'). To find which character comes first, I find the index of each character using const char *ptr = strchr(expr, characters here); if(ptr) { int index = ptr - expr; } After that I check which index is bigger. But this is very long process. Is there a smarter way to do this?

  I have a data frame with two variables, Date and Taxa and want to get the date for the first time each taxa occurs. There are 9 different dates and 40 different taxa in the data frame consisting of 172 rows, but my answer should only have 40 rows. Taxa is a factor and Date is a date. For example, my data frame (called 'species') is set up like this: Date Taxa 2013-07-12 A 2011-08-31 B 2012-09-06 C 2012-05-17 A 2013-07-12 C 2012-09-07 B and I would be looking for an answer like this: Date Taxa 2012-05-17 A 2011-08-31 B 2012-09-06 C I tried using: t.first <- species[unique(species$Taxa),] and it gave me the correct number of rows but there were Taxa repeated. If I just use unique(species$Taxa) it appears to give me the right answer, but then I don't know the date when it first occurred. Thanks for any help.

• website connection reset on first load

• How to set child unordered list position?

  Hi folks. I have a nav bar with children unordered lists nested under the main navbar items. My problem is on the inner list, when I position absolute, the inner list is centered to the page, and when I position relative, it is positioning inline with the parent list. • Add child to scene from within a class.

  Hi, I'm new to flash in general and have been writing a program with two classes that extend MovieClip (Stems and Star). I need to create a new Stems object as a child of the scene when the user stops dragging a Star object, but do not know how to reference the scene from within the Star class's code. I've tried passing the scene into the constructor of the Star and doing sometihng like: this.scene.addChild (new Stems ()); But apparently that's not how to do it...   Centos 6 recognises and configures a HP LaserJet P3015dn printer connected via USB. This machine is being configured as a small group file/print server. I can print a test page, which is processed/printed correctly. The next time printing is attempted (say printing a second test page), the page is not printed and the printer is set to disabled. • WPF - expander Collapsed event being triggered by child controls with validation

  I have an expander that contains an ItemsControl. The items in the itemsControl are templated, some have textboxes in them, others have checkboxes. Both have bindings that cause validation. The styling and validation is working as expected. The problem is when I first expand the expander and cause a change to either control, the expander collapses again, this is not what I want. If I repeat this a second time this does not happen. I'm not sure what is triggering this strange behaviour. I've tried setting the focus to the itemsControl when the expander expands with no luck. What is differnt the second time it's expanded? Could it be the validation? Any Ideas? • Binding a Value from a View-Model to the View-Model of a child User Control in Silverlight?

  Hi there, So i have a UserControl for one of my Views and have another 'child' UserControl inside that. The outer 'parent' UserControl has a Collection on its View-Model and a Grid control on it to display a list of Items. I want to place another UserControl inside this UserControl to display a form representing the details of one Item. The outer / parent UserControl's View-Model already has a property on it to hold the currently selected Item and i would like to bind this to a DependancyProperty on the inner / child UserControl. I would then like to bind that DependancyProperty to a property on the child UserControl's View-Model. I can then set the DependancyProperty once in XAML with a binding expression and have the child UserControl do all its work in its View-Model like it should. The code i have looks like this.. (showing name=abc) Same goes to the previous button where it will reduce 1value of pid (pid=1). • BFS Shortest Path: Edge weight either 1 or 2

  I am trying to implement a shortest path algorithm using BFS. That is I am trying to find the shortest path from a specified vertex to every other vertex. However, its a special case where all edge weights are either 1 or 2. I know it could be done with Dijkstra's algorithm but I must use Breadth First Search. So far I have a working version of BFS that searches first for a vertex connected with an edge of weight 1. If it cannot find it, then returns a vertex connected with an edge of weight 2. After thinking about it, this is not the correct way to find the shortest path. The problem is I cannot think of any reasoning why BFS would work with weights 1 or 2, as opposed to any weight. • How to focus a control in an MDIParent when all child windows have closed?

  I have a control in my parent mdi form which I wish to be given the focus if all mdi children have closed. I've tried hooking into the child form's FormClosed event and setting the focus from there but when I test it, my control is not left with focus when I close the mdi child. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? In the sample below, "first focus" gets hit and does its job correctly (if I comment out the first focus line, my tree does not get focus on startup, so it must be doing its job, right?) Unfortunately, even though "second focus" gets hit, my tree does not end up with the focus when I close the child window.   I have a batch conversion script to turn .mkvs of various dimensions into ipod/iphone sized .mp4s, cropping/scaling to suit. Determining the original dimensions, required crop, output file is all working fine. However, on successful completion of the first conversion, HandbrakeCLI causes the parent script to exit.
