  • pkgadd solaris 10 on VMWare - process datastream failed for SUNWi1cs errno=2

    I am trying to install packadges SUNWi1cs and SUNWi15cs for Oracle 11g on Solaris 10 (VMWare Player). NO cdrom (I dont know how to mount it the iso file is on USB device), I transferd the ISO and unzip the ISO in a directory I run: "pkgadd -d /export/michel/SOLARIS_10/PRODUCT SUNi1cs" == process datastream failed ... errno=2. I've check the web without success, many answers but none that fit my prob. Thank you

  • Auto-rebooting blackberry [closed]

    My BlackBerry Bold (9000) auto-reboots approximately daily, generally while I am listening to podcasts that have been saved to my add-in memory card. Neither the built-in card nor my add-in card are full. An OS update had no effect. I am using the default media player. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

  • Joomla 1.5 Media Manager sets incorrect file permissions when uploading

    Howdy all, I have a Joomla 1.5 installation running on Windows Server 2008, installed via the Web Platform Installer. When uploading images with the media manager (native uploader, not the flash bulk uploader), the files arrive on the server correctly, but are given incorrect permissions. Specifically, the IIS_IUSRS group is not given access to the file. I might be incorrect about what group/user is SUPPOSED to get access to the files, but so far, I've found that unless I give IIS_IUSRS access to the uploaded files, they won't appear on the site or in the media manager (appear as broken images). Once I give IIS_IUSRS permission to the files, they work fine. So far, all the research I've done has led me to linux specific fixes that involve either changing the umask on the server, or directly modifying the Joomla codebase to add an appropriate chmod command to the upload process, but I really don't want to modify Joomla directly. I have to believe there's a setting here somewhere that will do the job, either on the Joomla or Windows side of the equation. Any thoughts? Scott

  • DVD won't play in Ubuntu Jaunty after codes and css support has been added.

    Using Totem Video Player v2.26.1 on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, dvd's won't play after I've installed libdvdread4, added the Medibuntu packages, and run sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh If I click on the dvd I get an error *"Could not read from resource". If I navigate to one of the videos directly and run it, the movie will play, but with obvious degradation or encryption (like cable tv you aren't paying for).

    I have a dirt simple little function that launches the blackberry browser on a streaming media file in order to launch the built in media player. Everything works fine but there is this annoying dialog every time from the browser asking me if I want to save or open the file. My answer is always "open" the file so is there a way I can make it default and not bring up the dialog each time? The code I'm using to launch the browser // Get the default sessionBrowserSession browserSession = Browser.getDefaultSession(); // now launch the URL browserSession.displayPage(url); This is on blackberry OS 5.0 Thanks!

  • Middleware with generic communication media layer

    Greetings all, I'm trying to implement middleware (driver) for an embedded device with generic communication media layer. Not sure what is the best way to do it so I'm seeking an advice from more experienced stackoverflow users:). Basically we've got devices around the country communicating with our servers (or a pda/laptop in used in field). Usual form of communication is over TCP/IP, but could be also using usb, RF dongle, IR, etc. The plan is to have object corresponding with each of these devices, handling the proprietary protocol on one side and requests/responses from other internal systems on the other. The thing is how create something generic in between the media and the handling objects. I had a play around with the TCP dispatcher using boost.asio but trying to create something generic seems like a nightmare :). Anybody tried to do something like that? What is the best way how to do it? Example: Device connects to our Linux server. New middleware instance is created (on the server) which announces itself to one of the running services (details are not important). The service is responsible for making sure that device's time is synchronized. So it asks the middleware what is the device's time, driver translates it to device language (protocol) and sends the message, device responses and driver again translates it for the service. This might seem as a bit overkill for such a simple request but imagine there are more complex requests which the driver must translate, also there are several versions of the device which use different protocol, etc. but would use the same time sync service. The goal is to abstract the devices through the drivers to be able to use the same service to communicate with them. Another example: we find out that the remote communications with the device are down. So we send somebody out with PDA, he connects to the device using USB cable. Starts up the application which has the same functionality as the timesync service. Again middleware instance is created (on the PDA) to translate communication between application and the device this time only using USB/serial media not TCP/IP as in previous example.     I want to start something like a personal TuneWiki on my computer. I'm using Windows and have a lot of MP3s. Now I want to add lyrics to them for personal use. I tried Windows Media Player but it is bit a hard to synchronize all of the text with the song time. Are there other tools or players for adding lyrics so that when I start to play a song the streaming text will be synchronized with the beat?

    I need to set up access to media files with the following structure: A media folder is designated as belonging to a specific member group. Then, a sub-folder below that needs to be available to a subset of members from the parent's member group. Any thoughts on how this can best be accomplished? I'll render the actual file download links with a user control, but how should I set up this access control on the back end? I need a member-group picker and a multiple member picker. Do these exist anywhere?

I use CSS Print to display this report in a print format. (Basically I display some elements and hide others).   • C# public partial struct methods for more System.Windows.Media.Color

    How can I put in additional methods for manipulating color ? Best would be to overload the struct System.Windows.Media.Color. It is NOT a class (in c#). Now i'm tinkering with putting (in the same file for testing or must i put it in a different file) an namespace (Silverlight Application36 or System.Windows.Media ?) and a partial struct Color Normalize (double R, ...). I should see MyColor.Normalize() start being recognized by intellisense ? I'm not. I'm looking to put in a suite of overloaded color manipulations using floating and double numbers instead of unsigned byte integers. Any hints while I wack at it ? Cheers! dr.K

  • How to change the "record external input" in Fraps?

    I'm using a TV to USB capture thingy called Hauppauge USB-Live2 (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_usblive2.html) and I'm using Media Player Classic Home Cinema to view my device's output, and finally I'm using Fraps to record the output off of MPC. It all works nicely except I can't get my mic to record, or even show up in the "Record External Input" area of Fraps while my Hauppauge is plugged in. My question is: How can I select my mic as the "record external input" in fraps?

Sometimes I will stop playing in the middle of a file. When I click on the file again I want to continue where I left off. That's what my ipod touch does.   • Error installing Google Chrome on Windows XP (on VirtualBox)

    I am having some problems with my freshly installed Windows XP on VirtualBox. I tried installing Google Chrome on it, and the error I get is: Google Update installation failed with error 0x80040890 It is genuine Windows with SP3. I also tried using VMware player, but it has the same problem. When the same Windows is installed on a real machine, there is no problem. Any ideas what might be the cause?

  • Can't play ANY video or MP3 in NONE of my players!!

    I can't play ANY video or listen ANY mp3. I got the Windows 7, and I was watching vids on youtube until yesterday, but today, NONE of my players in general works (youtube, WMP, Real Player, etc...)! Also, it doesn't help if I use another browser.... HELP! What happens is, I press 'play' on the video and then the window freezes and I just can press the 'x' to close it. Help, thanks A LOT!

    Does anyone know of a way to interface with a Social Media Aggregator using Powershell. For Instance, I would like to update my global status on digsby using Powershell. Digsby would then fan the message out to Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Etc.. I am open to using any Social Media Aggregator that can do this.. Digsby, Seesmic, Ping.fm TweetDeek, etc.. If any of these programs have a com interface or something like it I'm sure who ever implements this first will have a large gain in users.

  • html5 video and Windows 7N

    When using Windows 7N and embedded videos for YouTube and the like my users have been getting a black box. I tracked this down to when HTML5 is being used for rendering. Other than putting a bunch of sites in compatibility mode or installing the Windows Media Pack (which resolves this issue) is there another route I can take? My guess is it's only a single registry key or DLL that says 'I'm not HTML5 compatible' but I don't have any idea how to find it.
