• Multiple websites each with an SSL certificate of its own

  Hi, We run cent os, plesk with apache and php, mysql. There are around 25 sites and each of them need an SSL certificate now. The host cannot have more than 16 IPs on the same server. Is it possible to have all these sites use just one IP address and have SSL certificate setup for each site? If yes, please let me know how I can set this up. Thanks

• Is CSF overkill?

  My server runs just my own sites (vBulletin forums - which are always patched with security fixes) and Rails sites using the latest version) so do I really need CSF? (http://configserver.com/cp/csf.html) Or is it unnecessary for this kind of server set-up? I have already done the usual (disable SSH login, pub-key auth, very strong passwords everywhere else etc) It was often recommended by users over at the cPanel forums - but I guess most of them are hosts there.

• Localhost has just stopped working (using xampp)

  I installed Xampp to use for local development of a Drupal site. Its been working fine out of the box until now. The main Xampp localhost welcome menu loads, however my subdirectory (localhost/drupal) doesn't. It just spins in the browser for ages and nothing happens. Just a blank screen. I've tried the edit people suggest in the hosts file but that hasn't work and I'm getting no errors so not sure what to do. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?   I installed Fiddler 4 Beta to do some HTTP tracing. I found a lot of calls being made to sites like : facebook, collegehumor and a bunch of other sites I've never visited. Could not trace what/who is initiating these calls as I do not see any Windows Processes. No one else is connected to my network. I use both Google Chrome and IE10 on a Windows 7 box. These sites work fine when these requests fail (except for whatever it's trying to do with the requests), but I have to click cancel on a multitude of proxy authentication dialogs. What I want to do is just have firefox silently ignore this, so I can use the website without having to click cancel 8 times on every action I make (this includes all the stack overflow style sites which is trying to make requests with the ws: protocol).

  Using a .htaccess rewrite rule, I need to add "?q=" before the path on any URL's containing the word "imagecache" Therefore, if the URL is: http://mysite.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg ...then it will really try: http://mysite.com/?q=sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg But that will ONLY happen if the URL contains "imagecache." Otherwise, it does no rewriting. Also, this will only happen if /sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg isn't already an existing image file. I believe I can do that using: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f ...right? It's just the first part that I can't figure out.

  I am writing my first rails app. It needs to aggregate some data from multiple sites and for each site I have a unique way of getting the data (some provide RSS, some JSON, for some I scrape the HTML etc.). These will run on schedule, probably as a rake task from cron. It seems logical to store the sites and relevant information in a model, but I am not sure where to put unique data retrieval methods. Do I store method names in the model? Do I just name the methods the same as site name and call them that way? • Cost of using ASP.NET

  One thing that I keep hearing in reference to ASP.NET and MSFT technologies is that they cost money to use. Often when they are being compared to open source languages someone will mention that one factor in favor of open source is that it's free (to an extent). My question is, when does ASP.NET actually cost money to use in terms of using the proprietary technology? Understandably there are the hosting fees, but I'm curious about the fees outside of these hosting fees. I'm especially curious about this as it relates one-person smaller-site development (non-team/large enterprise). Any help is appreciated. (edits) Some excellent answers. Much appreciated The projects that I'm looking to use the technologies for would be personal sites and very small business sites (1 or 2). The intent would of course be that these projects get much bigger. It seems that for commercial production, fees will apply.
