• How can I determine if jquery tab is shown because of user click or from tab rotation

  I've been using the jQuery UI tabs for a bit now and an interesting request has come up. The current tab setup is using the rotation feature. I need to find a way to determine if the tab is shown because of the result of the rotation itself, or because a user physically clicked the tab. I've wired up all of the standard events, show and select and they fire regardless of the source of the tab change. Does anyone have any ideas? Basically I'd like to do something additional if the user clicked the tab, but not if the tab changes by itself via the rotation. If I wire up the click even to the tabs themselves it doesn't seem to get fired at all, I'm assuming because the tabs widget is using that event itself.

  I am using qunit and jquery. Latest version of both. In my code when I submit the form I have the event as e. I call e.serializeArray() Here is my test. equals(args.data, [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "john" } ], 'input data'); And this is the error message from qunit. expected: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] result: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] As you can see to the naked eye the expected and result value is same but qunit is not liking it. I guess I am missing something.

• making certain cells of an ExtJS GridPanel un-editable

  I currently have a GridPanel with the Ext.ux.RowEditor plugin. Four fields exist in the row editor: port, ip address, subnet and DHCP. If the DHCP field (checkbox) of the selected row is checked, I need to make the other three fields un-editable. I've been trying to perform this code when the beforeedit event is triggered, but to no avail... I've only found ways to make the entire column un-editable.   Hi I am relatively new to javascript development. At the moment I have a single javascript file with lots of little misc bits of code that get called in different part of the website. For example I have an event handler for some google maps stuff that is only called on 1 single page, I have some validation stuff for my contact page etc etc. My question, is how best to organise this code - given that each page only requires very little code but its different and specific per page? Oh, I am using jquery if that makes a difference.

  Basically, I have four asp:DropDownLists and I wish to populate all of them from the same table, with certain conditions.   I'm trying to get my head around Core Data on the iphone. This is code from Apple's 'Navigation based app using Core data' template (method - insertNewObject) // Create a new instance of the entity managed by the fetched results controller. NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [[fetchedResultsController fetchRequest] entity]; NSManagedObject *newManagedObject = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:context]; It seems completely counter intuitive to me that the fetched results controller is used when inserting a new object. I changed the code to this: NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Event" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; NSManagedObject *newManagedObject = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; which works just as well and does not require access to the fetch request. Am I missing something here? Is there any good reason to use the fetched results controller in the insert method?

When I resize the Form of my Device, the Draw method is still called, but doesnt throw an Exception, it looks like this: device.Clear(ClearFlags.Target, Color.Red, 0, 0); device.BeginScene(); // here is out commented code device.EndScene(); device.Present(); In another method, I wrote this: renderToSurface.BeginScene(surfaces[currentIndex]); // here is out commented code renderToSurface.EndScene(Filter.None); and this method seems to throw a nullpointer exception when I resize the window; So my question is: - where to reset / restore / handle the renderToSurface class?   Hi..i m currently working on visual c++ 2008 express edition.. in my project i have a picturebox which contains an image, now i have to draw a rectangle to enaable the user to select a part of the image.. • Richfaces a4j achtionparam set null value

  I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc). I also tried to use CGRectMake like so : CGRectMake( sprite.position.x, sprite.position.y, sprite.contentSize.Width, sprite.contentSize.Height) But I couldn't access my sprites position or height. I keep getting "sprite" undeclared when it is declared in the init method, and added to the child. Please help!! I'm sure i'm missing something really simple here.

• Subscribing to MSMQ over the internet

  I haven't been able to find a clear answer to this problem. Is there a good way to subscribe to a MSMQ through the internet? Ideally I need security both in authentication and encryption for this connection. But I would like the subscriber to act just like any other client that would be subscribed on the local network. I believe I have a couple of options here Expose the MSMQ ports publicly Put the MSMQ behind some type of WCF service (not sure if that works for a subscriber) What other options do I have? We're sitting in a .NET environment and the main problem domain that is trying to be solved is to change the remote connections from a pulling system to an event based system to reduce the load on the main server.

• Any way to select without causing locking in MySQL?

  Query: SELECT COUNT(online.account_id) cnt from online; But online table is also modified by an event, so frequently I can see lock by running show processlist. Is there any grammar in MySQL that can make select statement not causing locks? And I've forgotten to mention above that it's on a MySQL slave database. After I added into my.cnf:transaction-isolation = READ-UNCOMMITTED the slave will meet with error: Error 'Binary logging not possible. Message: Transaction level 'READ-UNCOMMITTED' in InnoDB is not safe for binlog mode 'STATEMENT'' on query So, is there a compatible way to do this?

• What is the best way when creating a Google Widget, to store the data for the Widget to be shared by

  I know this may end up getting closed quickly. I could not find this in my searching through APIs. And this is probably a very simple question but here we go... How do you store data on a google application you create in which you and others in a specific group or more specifically the people who can edit a specific calendar, can reach this data? Person A,B,C have read/write access to a calendar, and lets say they want to co-ordinate information. I want this information to not be accessible to modify by all 3 though it is not stored in a calendar? (Though I thought about just creating an event in 1900 and then that fullfills that, but at the same time is a very hack way to do it) I would appreciate any insight you can give me when it comes to data handling in google applications, I am very new to it, but have been looking into it.

  I'm working with animation in JavaScript, and I have a bunch of functions you can call to add things to the animation queue. Basically, all of these functions look like this: function foo(arg1, arg2) { _eventQueue.push(function() { // actual logic } } I'm wondering now if it would be possible to cut down on this boilerplate a little bit, though, so I don't need that extra "_eventQueue" line in the function body dozens of times. Would it be possible, for example, to make a helper function which takes an arbitrary function as an argument and returns a new function which is augmented to be automatically added to the event queue? The only problem is that I need to find a way to maintain access to the function's original arguments in this process, which is... complicated.

I want to open certain links in a new tab while ignoring ones with a certain class (before you ask I cannot put classes on the links I am trying to catch as they come from a CMS). I want to exclude links with class "button" OR "generic_link" I have tried $(".content_box a[class!=button]").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); window.open($(this).attr('href')); }); But that doesn't seem to work, also how do I do an OR statement to include "generic_link" in the exclusion? • How to center map on marker and open marker's InfoWindow in one method

  I'm using Google Map APIv2. On my webpage I've a sidebar containing a list of markers with onclick event executing showDetails method, that looks like: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); }; The problem is that i cannot both panTo and openInfoWindowHtml in one method, it pans but won't open tooltip and when i change method to: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); }; it opens tooltip but won't center map to the marker's anchor coordinates. Even using wait function doesn't solve my problem. What am I doing wrong?

  Maybe it's been a long day but I'm having trouble persisting a collection backed by the ASP.NET ViewState in a CompositeControl. Here's a simplified version: public class MyControl : CompositeControl { public Collection<MyObject> MyObjectCollection { get { return (Collection<MyObject>)ViewState["coll"] == null ? new Collection<MyObject>() : (Collection<MyObject>)ViewState["coll"]; } set { ViewState["coll"] = value; } } } public partial class TestPage : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void btn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { myControl1.MyObjectCollection.Add(new MyObject()); } } When the button is clicked, the event hander btn_Click executes fine, but the setter for MyObjectCollection never gets called, hence the new MyObject() never gets persisted. I think I'm just having a blonde moment. Anyone fancy helping out?

  'm using to Exhibit to, pretty simply, display some data on historical events and book publication dates: http://f1shw1ck.com/timeline3/exhibit.html Everything works fine, and I have been able to get the timeline running as wanted, until I try to take control of the timeline with a timelineConfig script. After I add this, my timeline continues to work as expected on all browsers, except for IE. Curiously enough, band 0 initializes and is rendered correctly, but band 1 shows no events and does not sync to the band above. But it is picking up the width: 10%", intervalUnit: Timeline.DateTime.DECADE, intervalPixels: 60 specifications, as they are rendered correctly. Since everything works until I call ex:configuration="timelineConfig", since everything works in the other browsers, and since everything almost works in IE, up to the event painting, I have to imagine this is a javascript coding error on my part, but I just can't see it. All I get in my console is Failed to create view View As Timeline." Incidentally, having or not having the gotoYear function seemingly does nothing to change... Thanks for any tips.

• How to position an element so that it does not flow off the visible screen

  I am creating pseudo-tooltips on a page that has a lot of "a" and "span" elements that have these tips associated with them. Everything in the creation of the element is fine, and it displays fine. However, since this is a page with a lot of data, as you get towards the bottom of the visual area the tooltips start to flow past the bottom edge of the window. My initial attempt to compensate for this with window.innerWidth/innerHeight didn't come out too well. I'm using jQuery for DOM manipulation (but not jQuery UI). Given the event itself, and the height and width of the tooltip (which I can get with getBoundingClientRect()), how can I position this element so that the bottom of the tooltip is never below the edge of the window?

  I have a list within Sharepoint, using a custom new form i have added a custom list form control ("New item form" for the list) and changed the SaveButton to a standard input HTML button, and added an 'onclick' event that is as follows: onclick="javascript: {ddwrt:GenFireServerEvent('__commit;__redirect={NewFormWizard2.aspx?id=}')}" this works as in saves the data and redirects to the NewFormWizard2.aspx?id= page. the question is how do i get the ID of the created item to be passed to the redirected page? thus once the form is completed it would redirect to NewFormWizard2.aspx?id=23 Thanks in advanced.
