I'd like to ensure that when I'm persisting any data to the database, using (Fluent)NHibernate, that the operations are executed inside a transaction. Is there anyway of checking that a transaction is active via an interceptor? Or any other eventing mechanism?
More specifically, I'm using the System.Transaction.TransactionScope for transaction management, and just want to stop myself from not using it.
We're using Trac as the task management tool at the project we work in. However, Trac search is maybe not the most intuitive search out there, and we end up having multiple duplicates as the reporters can't effectively find if there already is a reported ticket of the question he or she found.
Stack Overflow's "Related Questions" concept is great and works magnificently! I was wondering if someone has heard of some similar plugin to Trac, or if you have solved this problem some other way.
I am looking for a posterous like custom domain management for the users. The user can register a domain and should be able to point their new domain to their sub domain in the web application. Any ideas?.
NOTE: I am not looking for a serverfault.com like answer but a programatic one as it is done in posterous.com.
This question was inspired by What features would you like to see added to C++? (also see What features do you miss in C++?).
C++ is a great general-purpose language, but perhaps too general and feature-rich: multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could go on.
Is there any one feature or aspect of C++ that you would like removed to make our lives easier as C++ developers?
One feature per answer, please.
I've used ( and still use ) mercurial and git. I have some repos hosted in a server with gitosis which is great and easy to setup. I am looking for a similar tool for hosting mercurial repos.
It must provide minimal acl and ssh access and allow for remote config ( in the style of gitosis's "clone the admin repo and push changes" ).
Extra points for automating hgweb config via said tool.
Hi All,
I was googling for tools for checking broken links in a remote web page. The w3c validator seemed a good one. But I am still unsure as how to check for pages which are restricted, i.e. the pages which I can only access by logging in to the site. Can we do that using the w3c validator? If not than is there any other tool for the same?
Hi there,
I'm looking for a fast SSL socket client basically talks SSL with remote service and I need features like connection pooling/limiting so that my other client calling this ssl socket can basically issue as many as requests and it will handle it peacefully.
I looked into openssl s_client, but it says it's only for testing purpose, is there a handy tool avaiable? STunnel seems to be okay, but don't have that connection limiting option I need.
Cheers.
I want to access a MySQL database from Java, but remote connection is disabled by the host.
So I will send the data to PHP and then PHP will locally access the database.
The data is pretty big (about 2~4kb)
I've never done this before.
What should I do?
I have a fairly large SQL Server database; I'd like to pull 4 tables out and dump them directly into an sqlite.db for remote querying (via nightly batch).
I was about to write a script to step through(most likely on a unix host kicked off via cron); but there should be a simpler method to export the tables directly (SQLite not an option in the included DTS Import/Export wizard)
What would the most efficient method of dumping the SQL Server tables to SQLite via batch be?
Can I create an event so I can execute some javascript whenever an element with a specific ID becomes visible or appears on the page?
The element comes from a remote resource (so isn't in MY html code but appears on page load) and I'd like some code to run when it appears (and only if it appears, it may not appear every load).
Thanks!
In CVS, we could programatically create a new branch of existing source using the "rtag" command, which did not require a copy of the repository.
Does git support functionality of this kind, making a branch of existing files in a remote git repository without having a local copy of it? Or does the distributed nature of git preclude this?
(I'm trying to save the 20+ minutes it would take to make a freestanding copy of the repository, just to run a 'git branch' command.)
I need write a live messenger plugin which periodically read messages from a remote http server, and then change my signature(the short message after my name) accordingly.
Can anyone point me to any open source project or materials where I can get started?
Thanks.
This doesn't need to be a real time solution, but are there some log files or system messages that could be read to identify periods of time where someone was connected via RDP to a Windows 7 machine?
I'm building a watchdog script for a computer which will be deployed in a remote place and would like to add this metric to a daily status update.
I'm trying to use the OpenCA library in a C++ application. However, when including the file pki_x509_data_st.h the following code fragment is encountered:
typedef struct pki_x509_callbacks_st {
/* ---------------- Memory Management -------------------- */
void * (*new) (void );
void (*free) (void *x );
void * (*dup) (void *x );
This won't compile because of the "new" pointer declaration.
How can I make it work?
I'm developing a site which monitors user's date.
It uses the cURL over PHP.
It first gets authorized using cookie and then parses the required data.
My problem is that it needs to fire multiple requests to the server (for all registered users) and this may
Get me banned by the remote server.
I would like to know if there is something I could do to prevent being banned.
(This activity is legal - the users have provided their login information)
Thanks
i need the source code of an application that can upload and download automatically from the remote computer (FTP) using java langauge. if any body gey help or the code, kindly contact me through my mail address [email protected]. thanks
For power management we have to put system in deep sleep(system sleep) mode and for this we have to put SDRAM in self refresh mode.
Can anyone tell the steps to set SDARM in self refresh mode.
I tried SDRAM configuration register's ,I found that the SDRAM do goes to self-refresh mode[we probed the SD clk out] however system crashes in some scenarios while coming out of sleep.
I work in software division of a large bank and we are considering writing our own financial library. However, before we embark in such a project, I want to check that there is no such library on the market.
We would need to have the following feature:
Pricing of derivative products
(options, futures, swaps, etc)
Different financial models
Hedging / risk management
Open source would be great if it's stable. Otherwise, we would purchase the source code.
We are looking for C#/.NET.
Hello all,
Is it possible to use fullcalendar on iphone native app reading events from servlet on a remote server? Features required are Month, Week and Day view. No need of adding, editing or deleting events. Clicking on event display the summary of the event. I would be very happy if fullcalendar is capable of the same, if no what are the other solutions. Expecting your guidance.
Thanks in advance
I wonder if there are great GUI management tools for Apache so you dont have to manually edit files in VIM.
It would be great if you could manage Apache over internet.
Any suggestions of such tools?
I have a large auditing stored procedure that prints values and runs some SELECT statements. When running within SQL Management Studio we have the use select to display "Results to Text" so all of the SQL results and print statement display in one place.
Now I need to have some C# code also call this auditing procedure at the end of the process and basically store all data that would be in the "Results to Text" window into a .txt file.
How can this be done?
Hi all,
How can I use WMIUserID, WMIPassword, WMIAlternateCredentials using C#?
Also, is it possible to get remote computer's Administrator-password?
Please try to explain with examples.
Thanks.
Hello, In MS SQL Server is there a way to detect whether a database has had its isolation level set via the T-SQL command ALTER DATABASE <database> SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON;
I cannot find a simple way to detect this in either T-SQL or via the Management Studio's GUI.
TIA
I have been using CouchDB on some prototype applications and it has been brilliant, very easy to use and extremely quick. I was wondering if anyone has been using it in production and have any views on it's reliability, performance suitability for operational management etc ?? I am considering using it to support a service layer and would make use of its replication functionality.
Any comments/experiences would be most welcome.
