  I have a list of objects, this list contains about 4 million objects. there is a stored proc that takes objects attributes as params , make some lookups and insert them into tables. what s the most efficient way to insert this 4 million objects to db? How i do : -- connect to sql - SQLConnection ... foreach(var item in listofobjects) { SQLCommand sc = ... // assign params sc.ExecuteQuery(); } THis has been really slow. is there a better way to do this?

• Very long tree control inside a <frame>

  I have an tree control inside of a frame. It's quite tall, around 2000 pixels. Right now, we use the frame's scroll bars, which is mostly good. Unfortunately, when you select an item near the bottom of the list, the page reloads and the view goes back to the top of the list. I tried calling the tree control's ScrollNodeIntoView() function, but since we're not using the tree's scroll bars, it just thinks that it's displaying the full 2000 pixels and the control doesn't have its own scroll bar. I'm not much of an HTML guru, so I have two ideas, neither of which I know how to do. 1) Tell the frame to not to let the tree render all 2000 pixels and instead stay inside the viewable area. 2) Tell the tree to not render all 2000 pixels and instead stay within the viewable area. Setting the CSS height property on the within the frame doesn't do anything. Thanks.

• Optimizing simple search script in PowerShell

  I need to create a script to search through just below a million files of text, code, etc. to find matches and then output all hits on a particular string pattern to a CSV file. So far I made this; $location = 'C:\Work*' $arr = "foo", "bar" #Where "foo" and "bar" are string patterns I want to search for (separately) for($i=0;$i -lt $arr.length; $i++) { Get-ChildItem $location -recurse | select-string -pattern $($arr[$i]) | select-object Path | Export-Csv "C:\Work\Results\$($arr[$i]).txt" } This returns to me a CSV file named "foo.txt" with a list of all files with the word "foo" in it, and a file named "bar.txt" with a list of all files containing the word "bar". Is there any way anyone can think of to optimize this script to make it work faster? Or ideas on how to make an entirely different, but equivalent script that just works faster? All input appreciated!

  I have an unordered list, and am using jquery to find the last ul and apply a class. jQuery("ul.class1:last").addClass("lastUi"); The html is as follows: <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1"></ul> This is working fine, however it has now changed in that another class is being added to the list so the html looks like: <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1 class2"></ul> <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1 class2"></ul> The jQuery code is now not picking up the last ul with both class1 and class2 as the last element and isn't adding the lastUI class.

I only found how add click event on one widget layout element (with setOnClickPendingIntent), and how send text to widget element TextView. But it's unclear how handle click events for sub-elemets, or how get click coordinates(or item) where was click event. I saw widget "Agenda widget" - and it work fine with clicking on different calendar rows. I will be very much appreciated for help.

• Drupal form being rendered before submit action

  I have a Drupal module page where I am populating a form with a drop-down that contains a list of available parts of a set of files that the user can upload. Once the user uploads a file of a certain type, it removes that option from the list, and when all the available files are uploaded the form will not be rendered. The problem is that Drupal is drawing the form before it carries out the submit action, so it appears to the user that the operation didn't work until they reload the page. What is the common way to deal with this? Setting form_state['redirect'] to go to the page doesn't seem to work.

  Hey all, Im looking to Extract a SharePoint List (WSS 2.0) to a SQL(2005) Table using SQL Server Integrated Services. First off I am aware of the "adapter" that does this from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd365137.aspx however I'm just wondering for compatibility purposes if it can't just be done "out of the box". There are only a limited number of "Data Flow Sources" to select as alternatives and I am unsure if any of these would be able to work in a similar way either directly to SharePoint or via SharePoints web services (e.g. http://server_name/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx) From the list of these sources it looks like the best option would be the OLE DB connector, but not sure how it would do this. Any help you have would be great, Mark

The following code works to reorder my list without any apparent problems in Firefox; however, IE prompts with the message "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"   I have tried to write an Android application with an activity that should be launched from a different application. It is not a content provider, just an app with a gui that should not be listed among the installed applications. I have tried the code examples here and it seems to be quite easy to launch existing providers and so on, but I fail to figure out how to just write a "hidden" app and launch it from a different one. The basic use case is: App A is a normal apk launchable from the application list. App B is a different apk with known package and activity names, but is is not visible or launchable from the application list. App A launches app B using the package and class names (or perhaps a URI constructed from these?). I fail in the third step. Is it possible to do this?

  Hi all, I have this generic routine that I wrote that takes a list of sql strings and executes them against the database. Is there any way I can make this work faster? Typically it'll see maybe 200 inserts or deletes or updates at a time. Sometimes there is a mixture of updates, inserts and deletes. Would it be a good idea to separate the queries by type (i.e. group inserts together, then updates and then deletes)? I am running this against an ms access database and using vb.net 2005.   I have a Traversable, and I want to make it into a Java Iterator. My problem is that I want everything to be lazily done. If I do .toIterator on the traversable, it eagerly produces the result, copies it into a List, and returns an iterator over the List. I'm sure I'm missing something simple here...   Hello all, I am using ASP MVC and SQL Server and I have a database that is updated intermittently with expected wait times for some event. Also, I am using some ajax and jquery. I need to display the average and maximum wait times. How can I take the entire list of time from the server and get the average time? Also, what would be the best method to simply grab a new time from the server when it is updated without having to pull the whole list again? Thanks!

• Best place to store large amounts of session data

  I'm building an application that needs to store and re-use large amounts of data per session. So for example, the user selects a large list of list items (say 2000 or significantly more) which have a numeric value as their key then they save that selection and go off to another page, do something else and then come back to the original page and need to load their selections into that page. What is the quickest and most efficient way of storing and reusing that data? In a text file saved with the session id? In a temp db table? In the session data itself (db sessions so size isn't a limit) using a serialised string or using gzcompress or gzencode? Any advice or insight would be great! Thank you!!!!

  I need to provide a way to allow users to select 1 Subject, but the subjects are grouped into Qualifications and so I want to show a heading for each 'group'. My first thought is an asp:RadioButtonList as that provides a list of options from which only one can be selected but there's no means to add break the list up with headings. So I tried the following code - but I can't see that the LiteralControl is being added, which makes me think it's not a valid approach.   hello everyone i have a complex query to be written but cannot figure it out here are my tables Sales --one row for each sale made in the system SaleProducts --one row for each line in the invoice (similar to OrderDetails in NW) Deals --a list of possible deals/offers that a sale may be entitled to DealProducts --a list of quantities of products that must be purchased in order to get a deal now im trying to make a query which will tell me for each sale which deals he may get the relevant fields are: Sales: SaleID (PK) SaleProducts: SaleID (FK), ProductID (FK) Deals: DealID (PK) DealProducts: DealID(FK), ProductID(FK), Mandatories (int) for required qty i believe that i should be able to use some sort of cross join or outer join, but it aint working here is one sample (of about 30 things i tried) SELECT DealProducts.DealID, DealProducts.ProductID, DealProducts.Mandatories, viwSaleProductCount.SaleID, viwSaleProductCount.ProductCount FROM DealProducts LEFT OUTER JOIN viwSaleProductCount ON DealProducts.ProductID = viwSaleProductCount.ProductID GROUP BY DealProducts.DealID, DealProducts.ProductID, DealProducts.Mandatories, viwSaleProductCount.SaleID, viwSaleProductCount.ProductCount the problem is that it doesnt show any product deals that r not fullfiled (probably because of the productid join). i need that also sales that dont have the requiremnets show up, then i can filter out any saleid that exists in this query "where AmountBought thank you for your help

  I have a php variable that comes from a form that needs tidying up. I hope you can help. The variable contains a list of items (possibly two or three word items with a space in between words). I want to convert it to a comma separated list with no superfluous white space. I want the divisions to fall only at commas, semi-colons or new-lines. Blank cannot be an item. Here's a comprehensive example (with a deliberately messy input): Variable In: "dog, cat ,car,tea pot,, ,,, ;;(++NEW LINE++)fly, cake" Variable Out "dog,cat,car,tea pot,fly,cake" Can anyone help?

• Redirecting a large number of URLs with htaccess or php header

  I have undergone a major website overhaul and now have 5,000+ incoming links from search engines and external sites, bookmark services etc that lead to dead pages or 404 errors. A lot of the pages have corresponding "permalinks" or known replacement hierarchy/URL structure. I've started to list the main redirects with htaccess or physical files with simply a header location reidrect which is clearly not sustainable! What would be the best method to list all of the old link addresses and their corresponding new addresses with htaccess, php headers, mysql, sitemap file or is it better to have all broken links and wait for search engines etc to re-index my site? Are there any implications for having a large number of redirecting files for this temporary period until links are reset?

• RegEx expression to find a href links and add NoFollow to them

  I am trying to write a RegEx rule to find all a href HTML links on my webpage and add a 'rel="nofollow"' to them. However, I have a list of URLs that must be excluded (for exmaple, ANY (wildcards) internal link (eg. pokerdiy.com) - so that any internal link that has my domain name in is excluded from this.
