  • How to Use Images as Navigation with innerfade Slideshow?

    - by Katie
    I am very new to JavaScript and only have the most basic understanding of how it works, so please bear with me. :) I'm using the jquery.innerfade.js script to create a slideshow with fade transitions for a website I'm developing, and I have added navigation buttons (which are set as background-images) that navigate between the “slides”. The navigation buttons have three states: default/off, hover, and on (each state is a separate image). I created a separate JavaScript document to set the buttons to “on” when they are clicked. The “hover” state is achieved through the CSS. Both the slideshow and the navigation buttons work well. There is just one thing I want to add: I would like the appropriate navigation button to display as “on” while the related “slide” is “playing”. Here's the HTML: <div id="mainFeature"> <ul id="theFeature"> <li id="the1feature"><a href="#" name="#promo1"><img src="_images/carousel/promo1.jpg" /></a></li> <li id="the2feature"><a href="#" name="#promo2"><img src="_images/carousel/promo2.jpg" /></a></li> <li id="the3feature"><a href="#" name="#promo3"><img src="_images/carousel/promo3.jpg" /></a></li> </ul> <div id="promonav-con"> <div id="primarypromonav"> <ul class="links"> <li id="the1title" class="promotop"><a rel="1" href="#promo1" class="promo1" id="promo1" onMouseDown="promo1on()"><strong>Botox Cosmetic</strong></a></li> <li id="the2title" class="promotop"><a rel="2" href="#promo2" class="promo2" id="promo2" onMouseDown="promo2on()"><strong>Promo 2</strong></a></li> <li id="the3title" class="promotop"><a rel="3" href="#promo3" class="promo3" id="promo3" onMouseDown="promo3on()"><strong>Promo 3</strong></a></li> </ul> </div> </div> And here is the jquery.innerfade.js, with my changes: (function($) { $.fn.innerfade = function(options) { return this.each(function() { $.innerfade(this, options); }); }; $.innerfade = function(container, options) { var settings = { 'speed': 'normal', 'timeout': 2000, 'containerheight': 'auto', 'runningclass': 'innerfade', 'children': null }; if (options) $.extend(settings, options); if (settings.children === null) var elements = $(container).children(); else var elements = $(container).children(settings.children); if (elements.length > 1) { $(container).css('position', 'relative').css('height', settings.containerheight).addClass(settings.runningclass); for (var i = 0; i < elements.length; i++) { $(elements[i]).css('z-index', String(elements.length-i)).css('position', 'absolute').hide(); }; this.ifchanger = setTimeout(function() { $.innerfade.next(elements, settings, 1, 0); }, settings.timeout); $(elements[0]).show(); } }; $.innerfade.next = function(elements, settings, current, last) { $(elements[last]).fadeOut(settings.speed); $(elements[current]).fadeIn(settings.speed, function() { removeFilter($(this)[0]); }); if ((current + 1) < elements.length) { current = current + 1; last = current - 1; } else { current = 0; last = elements.length - 1; } this.ifchanger = setTimeout((function() { $.innerfade.next(elements, settings, current, last); }), settings.timeout); }; })(jQuery); // **** remove Opacity-Filter in ie **** function removeFilter(element) { if(element.style.removeAttribute){ element.style.removeAttribute('filter'); } } jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('ul#theFeature').innerfade({ speed: 1000, timeout: 7000, containerheight: '291px' }); // jQuery('#mainFeature .links').children('li').children('a').attr('href', 'javascript:void(0);'); jQuery('#mainFeature .links').children('li').children('a').click(function() { clearTimeout(jQuery.innerfade.ifchanger); for(i=1;i<5;i++) { jQuery('#the'+i+'feature').css("display", "none"); //jQuery('#the'+i+'title').children('a').css("background-color","#226478"); } // if(the_widths[(jQuery(this).attr('rel')-1)]==960) { // jQuery("#vic").hide(); // } else { // jQuery("#vic").show(); // } // jQuery('#the'+(jQuery(this).attr('rel'))+'title').css("background-color", "#286a7f"); jQuery('#the'+(jQuery(this).attr('rel'))+'feature').css("display", "block"); clearTimeout(jQuery.innerfade.ifchanger); }); }); And the separate JavaScript that I created: function promo1on() {document.getElementById("promo1").className="promo1on"; document.getElementById("promo2").className="promo2"; document.getElementById("promo2").className="promo2"; } function promo2on() {document.getElementById("promo2").className="promo2on"; document.getElementById("promo1").className="promo1"; document.getElementById("promo3").className="promo3"; } function promo3on() {document.getElementById("promo3").className="promo3on"; document.getElementById("promo1").className="promo1"; document.getElementById("promo2").className="promo2"; } And, finally, the CSS: #mainFeature {float: left; width: 672px; height: 290px; margin: 0 0 9px 0; list-style: none;} #mainFeature li {list-style: none;} #mainFeature #theFeature {margin: 0; padding: 0; position: relative;} #mainFeature #theFeature li {position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0;} #promonav-con {width: 463px; height: 26px; padding: 0; margin: 0; position: absolute; z-index: 900; top: 407px; left: 283px;} #primarypromonav {padding: 0; margin: 0;} #mainFeature .links {padding: 0; margin: 0; list-style: none; position: relative; font-family: arial, verdana, sans-serif; width: 463px; height: 26px;} #mainFeature .links li.promotop {list-style: none; display: block; float: left; display: inline; margin: 0; padding: 0;} #mainFeature .links li a {display: block; float: left; display: inline; height: 26px; text-decoration: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; cursor: pointer;} #mainFeature .links li a strong {margin-left: -9999px;} #mainFeature .links li a.promo1 {background: url(../_images/carouselnav/promo1.gif); width: 155px;} #mainFeature .links li:hover a.promo3 {background: url(../_images/carouselnav/promo3_hover.gif); width: 155px;} #mainFeature .links li a.promo3:hover {background: url(../_images/carouselnav/promo3_hover.gif); width: 155px;} .promo3on {background: url(../_images/carouselnav/promo3_on.gif); width: 155px;} Hopefully this makes sense! Again, I'm very new to JavaScript/JQuery, so I apologize if this is a mess. I'm very grateful for any suggestions. Thanks!

  • Java: how to get all subdirs recursively?

    - by HH
    Before debugging the late-hour-out-of-bound-recursive-function: is there a command to get subdirs? giveMeSubDirs(downToPath)? // WARNING: RECURSION out of bound public HashSet<FileObject> getAllDirs(String path) { HashSet<FileObject> checkedDirs = new HashSet<FileObject>(); HashSet<FileObject> allDirs = new HashSet<FileObject>(); String startingPath = path; File fileThing = new File(path); FileObject fileObject = new FileObject(fileThing); for (FileObject dir : getDirsInDir(path)) { // SUBDIR while ( !checkedDirs.contains(dir) && !(getDirsInDir(dir.getFile().getParent()).size() == 0)) { // DO NOT CHECK TOP DIRS if any bottom dir UNCHECKED! while ( uncheckedDirsOnLevel(path, checkedDirs).size() > 0) { while (getDirsInDir(path).size() == 0 || (numberOfCheckedDirsOnLevel(path, checkedDirs)==getDirsInDir(path).size())) { allDirs.add(new FileObject(new File(path))); checkedDirs.add(new FileObject(new File(path))); if(traverseDownOneLevel(path) == startingPath ) return allDirs; //get nearer to the root path = traverseDownOneLevel(path); } path = giveAnUncheckedDir(path, checkedDirs); if ( path == "NoUnchecked.") { checkedDirs.add(new FileObject( (new File(path)).getParentFile() )); break; } } } } return allDirs; }

  • Siverlight animation issue

    - by George2
    Hello everyone, Suppose I have the following XAML snippets, my confusion is what is the meaning of the value for Storyboard.TargetProperty? i.e. the meaning of "(UIElement.RenderTransform).(TransformGroup.Children)[0].(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)". <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetName="p1" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(TransformGroup.Children)[0].(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)" BeginTime="00:00:00"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00" Value="1"/> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.2500000" Value="1"/> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.5000000" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> ... <Path Height="2.75" Width="2.75" Data="M2.75,1.375 C2.75,2.1343915 2.1343915,2.75 1.375,2.75 C0.61560845,2.75 0,2.1343915 0,1.375 C0,0.61560845 0.61560845,0 1.375,0 C2.1343915,0 2.75,0.61560845 2.75,1.375 z" Fill="#FF9F9B9B" Stretch="Fill" Stroke="#FF000000" StrokeThickness="0" Canvas.Left="7" Canvas.Top="14" x:Name="p1"> <Path.RenderTransform> <TransformGroup> <ScaleTransform/> <SkewTransform/> <RotateTransform/> <TranslateTransform/> </TransformGroup> </Path.RenderTransform> </Path> thanks in advance, George

  • php POST response

    - by amit
    I am making a POST to another php file that I want to render in the browser. so clearly, using jquery POST wont work, since it works through AJAX. echo '<div class="showcase_URL"><a class="purl" name="'.$row->num.'" href="#">PROJECT URL</a></div>'; what I have till now in javascript is: $(".showcase_URL a").click(function() { //alert($(this).attr("name")); var number = $(this).attr("name"); $.post( "app-display.php", {app: number}, function(data){ top.location.href = 'app-display.php'; }); }); what I have in app-display.php: $query = 'SELECT num, title, thumb_url, url, type, cat, dated, details FROM app WHERE `num` = "$_POST[app]"'; but it is currently giving me a page without the contents of app-display.php. all the other fragments of the page are loading: header, footer etc. the PHP Response (in Firebug) I am getting is the normal html of the page. how should i do it?

  • How do I find the object with the oldest updated_at column in RJS?

    - by user284194
    Hello, I'm trying to remove the object with the oldest updated_at value when the rjs is executed. page.insert_html :top, :messages, :partial => @message page[@message].visual_effect :grow page[:message_form].reset Message.old_messages.each do |m| page.remove(m.id) end page.delay(1) do page.select('.message').last.visual_effect :fade end I'm using .last in there right now, but I have a periodically_call_remote in the view that continually updates and runs the rjs above. The line: page.select('.message').last.visual_effect :fade seems to only execute the first time because after the message that is "last" fades away there's nothing recognized as "last" anymore so I figure instead of calling .last I could find the object that has the oldest updated_at time stamp and just remove that instead. I'm thinking that I probably cannot do this using page.select since it only calls on css elements. And therefore I probably don't have access to the updated_at values in the Message model. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish removing the oldest message with rjs? The messages are already automatically removed in the model as new messages are created. But I want them to fade automatically when the RJS refreshes the element.

  • Modifying NSMutableDictionary from a single index format into nested (array within array)

    - by Michael Robinson
    I need to take the member ID off the top of this and create an array inside that contains the rest of the JSON return. Here is my JSON return. [{"F_Name_VC":"Frank", "L_Name_VC":"Johnson", "userid":"18", "age":"23", },] After it is json-deserialized it looks like this: I need convert it to be transformed into this, with children sub-array: Someone else posted a similar question but without the fact that it was coming from a JSON deserialization. There were two answers but no conclusion to the question. (Answer 1): NSDictionary *item1 = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjects:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:@" member",[NSNumber numberWithInt:3],nil] forKeys:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Title",@"View",nil]]; Answer (2): NSMutableArray *Rows = [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity: 1]; for (int i = 0; i < 4; ++i) { NSMutableArray *theChildren = [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity: 1]; [theChildren addObject: [NSString stringWithFormat: @"tester %d", i]]; NSString *aTitle = [NSString stringWithFormat: @"Item %d", i]; NSDictionary *anItem = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: aTitle, @"Title", theChildren, @"Children"]; [Rows addObject: anItem]; } NSDictionary *Root = [NSDictionary withObject: Rows andKey: @"Rows"]; Here is my JSON return and save code: NSData *jsonData = [jsonreturn dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF32BigEndianStringEncoding]; NSError *error = nil; NSDictionary * dict = [[CJSONDeserializer deserializer] deserializeAsDictionary:jsonData error:&error]; if (dict) { rowsArray = [dict objectForKey:@"member"]; [rowsArray retain]; } Thanks in advance. Every tutorial on JSON only shows a simple array being returned, never with children..It's driving me crazy trying to figure this out.

  • jQueryUI: Sortable <thead> messes up ie ANY IE when css display property is set to RELATIVE

    - by Zlatev
    As the title describes most of the problem. Here is the example code that works as expected in Firefox. Could someone provide a workaround or fix? In action JavaScript $(function() { $('table thead').sortable({ items: 'th', containment: 'document', helper: 'clone', cursor: 'move', placeholder: 'placeHold', start: function(e, ui) { $overlay=$('<div>').css({ position: 'fixed', left: 0, top: 0, backgroundColor: 'black', opacity: 0.4, width: '100%', height: '100%', zIndex: 500 }).attr('id','sortOverlay').prependTo(document.body); $(this).parent().css({ position: 'relative', zIndex: 1000}); }, stop: function(e, ui){ $('#sortOverlay').remove(); $(this).parent().css({ position: 'static' }); } }); }); CSS <style type="text/css"> table { background-color: #f3f3f3; } table thead { background-color: #c1c1c1; } .placeHold { background-color: white; } </style> HTML <table> <thead><th>th1</th><th>th2</th><th>th3</th><th>th4</th></thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>content</td><td>content</td><td>content</td><td>content</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

  • GWT : Internet Explorer transparency issue

    - by dindeman
    This post concerns only IE. The last line of the following code is causing the issue. int width = 200; int height = 200; int overHeight = 40; AbsolutePanel absPanel = new AbsolutePanel(); absPanel.setSize(width + "px", height + "px"); SimplePanel underPanel = new SimplePanel(); underPanel.setWidth(width + "px"); underPanel.setHeight(height + "px"); underPanel.getElement().getStyle().setBackgroundColor("red"); SimplePanel overPanel = new SimplePanel(); overPanel.setWidth(width + "px"); overPanel.setHeight(overHeight + "px"); overPanel.getElement().getStyle().setBackgroundColor("black"); //Setting the IE opacity to 20% on the black element in order to obtain the see through effect. overPanel.getElement().getStyle().setProperty("filter", "alpha(opacity=20)"); absPanel.add(underPanel, 0, 0); absPanel.add(overPanel, 0, 0); RootPanel.get("test").add(absPanel); //The next line causes the problem. absPanel.getElement().getStyle().setProperty("filter", "alpha(opacity=100)"); So basically this code should display a red square of 200px by 200px (see underPanel in the code) and on top of it a black rectangle of 200px by 40px (see overPanel in the code). However the black rectangle is partially see through since its transparency is set to 20%, therefore it should appear in red, but of a darker red than the rectangle sitting under since it is actually a faded black item. Some rendering problem occurs because of the last line of code that sets the opacity of the containing AbsolutePanel to 100% (which in theory should not affect the visual result). Indeed in that case the panel lying over remains still see through but straight through the background colour of the page! It's like if the panel sitting under was not there at all... Any ideas? This is under GWT 2.0 and IE7.

  • XSL-FO: Static content AND Flow content in Region-Body: Possible?

    - by Peterdk
    I have the following problem: I need to use XSLFO to generate a 2-column multipage document. Problem is: I need to have a vertical line between the 2 columns. Since XSLFO does not seem to specify a option for creating such a divider, I need to manually put it there. I was thinking of using a static rotated blockcontainer with a leader in it. However, it looks like it's not possible to use static-content on the same region as where the flow content comes. <fo:layout-master-set> <fo:simple-page-master page-width="170mm" page-height="222mm" master-name="page" > <fo:region-body region-name="xsl-region-body" margin-top="2mm" margin-bottom="2mm" margin-left="10mm" margin-right="10mm" column-count="2" column-gap="5mm" /> </fo:simple-page-master> </fo:layout-master-set> <fo:page-sequence master-reference="page"> <fo:static-content flow-name="xsl-region-body" ><!-- This gives a error --> <fo:block>test</fo:block> </fo:static-content> <fo:flow flow-name="xsl-region-body"> <xsl:apply-templates/> </fo:flow> </fo:page-sequence> Results in (XEP): [error] Duplicate identifier: flow-name="xsl-region-body". Property 'flow-name' should be unique within 'fo:page-sequence'. Are there any methods to place static content on the main region when also flow content is placed there? Or: Is there a way to define the divider that divides a 2-column layout?

  • Goal setting/tracking packages

    - by Avi
    I'm a developer working by myself. I'm looking for a computerized tool to manage my goals and activities. I own it Microsoft Project, but I don't like it. I've started many "projects" but could never keep on using it. Too complex and heavyweight for me. I use MS-Outlook tasks. They are not what I need. No planning capability. Tracking is not nice. I'm using the Pomodoro technique and I like it, but I'm looking for something more comprehensive and with better computerized support. Something that would allow me to define goals with dependencies and time estimation, keep daily prioritized lists etc. So, I'm looking for a solution. One I've found is GoalPro, but I don't like the fact I could not find a "top ten comparison". Are you using any goal setting package such as GoalPro? Which? Does it help? Pros and Cons?

  • jQuery UI slider coming out looking wierd

    - by jondavidjohn
    http://cl.ly/2W1V3s0G2G3y3D133I3U <--screenshot of rendered slider It acts normally by clicking the inner whitespace of the slider and dragging, values act accordingly, but the handles do not move and fill the area, and the line at the top grows/shrinks with the difference of the two values. Here is the code I am using to initiate the slider. $('.sliderific').each(function(){ alert($(this).attr('id')); $(this).slider({ range: true, min: 0, max: 500, values: [ 75, 300 ], slide: function( event, ui ) { $(this).nextAll('.left:first').text(ui.values[ 0 ]); $(this).nextAll('.right:first').text(ui.values[ 1 ]); } }); }); and here is the DOM it's being applied to... <div class="white notwide"> <div id="price-slider" class="sliderific"></div> <span class="em small gray left center">Min Price</span> <span class="em small gray right center">Max Price </span> </div> EDIT : Also, I have verified I am including the proper css and the jquery theme images are connecting and being loaded.

  • Concurrency and Coordination Runtime (CCR) Learning Resources

    - by Harry
    I have recently been learning the in's and out's of the Concurrency and Coordination Runtime (CCR). Finding good learning resources for this relatively new technology has been quite difficult. (A quick google search brings up "Creedence Clearwater Revival" as the top result!) Some of the resources I have found: Free e-book chapter from WROX on the Robotics Developer Studio Good Article/post on InfoQ Robotic's Member blog Very active MSDN CCR Forum - Got plenty of help from here! Great MSDN Magazine by Jeffrey Richter Official CCR User Guide - Didn't find this very helpful Great blogging series on CCR iodyner CCR Related Blog - Update: Moved to here Eight or so Videos on Channel9.msdn.com CCR Patterns page on MS Robotics Studio - I haven't read this yet 4 x CCR Questions on Stackoverflow - Most of the questions have been Mine! LOL CCR and DSS toolkit has now been released to MSDN Members Do you have any good learning resources for the CCR? I really hope that Microsoft will publish more material, so far it has been too Robotics specific. I believe that MS needs to acknowledge that most people are using the CCR in issolation from the DSS and Robotics Studio. Update The Mix 2010 conference had a presentation by Myspace about how they have used the CCR framework in their middle tier. They also open sourced the code base. • Objective-C function dispatch collisions; Or, how to achieve "namespaces"?

    - by fbrereto
    I have an application for Mac OS X that supports plugins that are intended to be loaded at the same time. Some of these plugins are built on top of a Cocoa framework that may receive updates in one plugin but not another. Given Objective-C's current method for function dispatching, any call from any plugin to a given Objective-C routine will go to the same routine every time. That means plugin A can find itself inside plugin B with a trivial Objective-C call! Obviously what we're looking for is for each plugin to interact with its own version of the framework upon which it was built. I have been reading some on Objective-C and this particular need, but haven't found a definitive solution for it yet. Update: My use of the word "framework" above is misleading: the framework is a statically-linked library, built into the plugin(s) that need it. The way Objective-C handles dispatching, however, even these statically linked pieces of disparate code will co-mingle in the Objective-C dispatcher, leading to unintended consequences. Update 2: I'm still a bit fuzzy on the answer provided here, as it doesn't seem to propose a solution as much as an unproven hypothesis.

  • Eclipse won't believe I have Maven 2.2.1

    - by Andrew Clegg
    I have a project (built from an AppFuse template) that requires Maven 2.2.1. So I upgraded to this (from 2.1.0) and set my path and my M2_HOME and MAVEN_HOME env variables. Then I ran mvn eclipse:eclipse and imported the project into Eclipse (Galileo). However, in the problems list for the project (and at the top of the pom.xml GUI editor) it says: Unable to build project '/export/people/clegg/data/GanymedeWorkspace/funcserve/pom.xml; it requires Maven version 2.2.1 (Please ignore 'GanymedeWorkspace', I really am using Galileo!) This persists whether I set Eclipse to use its Embedded Maven implementation, or the external 2.2.1 installation, in the Preferences - Maven - Installations dialog. I've tried closing and reopening the project, reindexing the repository, cleaning the project, restarting the IDE, logging out and back in again, everything I can think of! But Eclipse still won't believe I have Maven 2.2.1. I just did a plugin update so I have the latest version of Maven Integration for Eclipse -- 0.9.8.200905041414. Does anyone know how to convince Eclipse I really do have the right version of Maven? It's like it's recorded the previous version somewhere else and won't pay any attention to my changes :-( Many thanks! Andrew.

  • Executing sequential stored procedures; works in query analyzer, doesn't in my .NET application

    - by evanmortland
    Hello, I have an audit record table that I am writing to. I am connecting to MyDb, which has a stored procedure called 'CreateAudit', which is a passthrough stored procedure to another database on the same machine called MyOther DB with a stored procedure called 'CreatedAudit' as well. In other words in MyDB I have CreateAudit, which does the following EXEC dbo.MyOtherDB.CreateAudit. I call the MyDb CreateAudit stored procedure from my application, using subsonic as the DAL. The first time I call it, I call it with the following (pseudocode): Result = CreateAudit(recordId, "Opened") One line after that, I call: Result2 = CreateAudit(recordId, "Closed") In my second stored procedure it is supposed to mark the record that was created by the CreateAudit(recordId, "Opened") with a status of closed. It works great if I run them independently of one another, but when they run in sequence in the application, the record is not marked as "Closed". When I run SQL profiler I see that both queries ran, and if I copy the queries out and run them from query analyzer the record gets marked as closed 100% of the time! When I run it from the application, about once every 20 times or so, the record is successfully marked closed - the other 19 times nothing happens, but I do not get an error! Is it possible for the .NET app to skip over the ouput from the first stored procedure and start executing the second stored procedure before the record in the first is created? When I add a "WAITFOR DELAY '00:00:00:003'" to the top of my stored procedure, the record is also closed 100% of the time. My head is spinning, any ideas why this is happening! Thanks for any responses, very interested in hearing how this can happen.

  • Codeplex/Sourceforge for internal use

    - by Josh
    I'm looking for a free/open source collaborative project manager that can be deployed internally in my workplace that would act similar to Codeplex or Sourceforge. Does anyone know of something like this, and if so do you have experience with it. Requirements: Open Source or Free Locally Deployable Has the same types of features found in Sourceforge / Codeplex Issue/Feature Tracking Community Interaction (ie. Voting, Roles, etc.) SCM Integration (Optional) .NET/Windows Friendly (Optional) Every business ends up having internal utilities, and domain specific apps that developers create to make life easier. Given the input of the internal developer community they have the potential to become much better (can you say GMail...), and I would simply like to foster such an environment internally by providing an easy place for that interaction to take place. UPDATE: So I like what I am seeing in both Trac and GForge, but both are heavily geared towards UNIX/Subversion environments. I should have specified this, but we are a MS shop from top to bottom. How practical do you think it is going to be to try and use these in a MS .NET environment? Would that be like trying to shove a square peg through a round hole?

  • Adjust size of MPMediaPickerController's view ?

    - by Mr.Gando
    In my application I don't use the upper bar that displays Wi-Fi/Date/Time because it's a game. However I need to be able to let my user to pick his music, so I'm using a MPMediaPickerController. The problem is, that when I present my controller, the controller ends up leaving a 10 pixels ( aprox ) bar at the top of the screen, just in the place the Wi-Fi/Date/Time bar, should be present. Is there a way I could make my MPMediaPickerController bigger ? or to be presented upper in the screen ? // Configures and displays the media item picker. - (void) showMediaPicker: (id) sender { MPMediaPickerController *picker = [[MPMediaPickerController alloc] initWithMediaTypes: MPMediaTypeAnyAudio]; [[picker view] setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; picker.delegate = self; picker.allowsPickingMultipleItems = YES; picker.prompt = NSLocalizedString (@"AddSongsPrompt", @"Prompt to user to choose some songs to play"); [self presentModalViewController:picker animated: YES]; [picker release]; } There I tried to set the size to 320x480 but no luck, the picker is still presented and leaves a space in the upper part of the screen, could anyone help me ? Btw, here's how it looks: I have asked a bit, and people told me this could indeed be a bug, what do you guys think ?

  • Jmeter is not extracting correctly the value with the reg ex extractor.

    - by Chris
    Jmeter is not extracting correctly the value with the reg ex. When I play with this reg ex (NAME="token" \s value="([^"]+?)") in reg ex coach with the following html everything work fine but when adding the reg with a reg ex extrator to the request he doesn't found the value even if it's the same html in output. <HTML>< script type="text/javascript" > function dostuff(no, applicationID) { submitAction('APPS_NAME' , 'noSelected=' + no + '&applicationID=' + applicationID); }< /script> <FORM NAME="baseForm" ACTION="" METHOD="POST"> <input type="hidden" NAME="token" value="fc95985af8aa5143a7b1d4fda6759a74" > <div id="loader" align="center"> <div> <strong style="color: #003366;">Loading...</strong> </div> <img src="images/initial-loader.gif" align="top"/> </div> <BODY ONLOAD="dostuff('69489','test');"> From the reg ex extractor reference name: token Regex: (NAME="token" \s value="([^"]+?)") template : $2$ match no.:1 Default value: wrong-token The request following my the POST of the previous code is returning : POST data: token=wrong-token in the next request in the tree viewer. But when I check a the real request in a proxy the token is there. Note : I tried the reg ex without the bracket and doesn't worked either. Do anybody have a idea whats wrong here ? Why jmeter can't find my token with the reg ex extrator ?

    I'm a newbie to Ruby. Trying to setup nanoc in my machine. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04. After the nanoc installation, when I type $nanoc --version I get the following errors: /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler/shared_helpers.rb:24:in `default_gemfile': Could not locate Gemfile (Bundler::GemfileNotFound) from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:248:in `default_gemfile' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:192:in `root' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:99:in `bundle_path' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:400:in `configure_gem_home_and_path' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:90:in `configure' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:151:in `definition' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:116:in `setup' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head@global/gems/bundler-1.6.2/lib/bundler.rb:132:in `require' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head/gems/nanoc-3.7.0/bin/nanoc:7:in `<top (required)>' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head/bin/nanoc:23:in `load' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head/bin/nanoc:23:in `<main>' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head/bin/ruby_executable_hooks:15:in `eval' from /home/ananth/.rvm/gems/ruby-head/bin/ruby_executable_hooks:15:in `<main>' Am I missing something from my rvm?   • Android - Lifecycle and saving an Instance State questions

    - by The Salt
    So within my application is a form for creating a new user, with relevant details and information about the user. There's no problems there, it's just what happens when the user leaves the activity without pressing the confirm button. Here's what I want to do: If the user presses the back button, attempt to save all the data to the database and inform the user. If the activity is interrupted (ie by a phone call), save all the data into a temporary location so when the activity is at the top of the stack again, nothing appears to have changed (but the data still hasn't yet been saved to the database). If the activity gets killed for more resources when in the background, do the same as point 2 above (ie when the activity is started again, it appears that nothing has changed). If the whole application is started again (by clicking on the icon again) and there is temporary data stored from either points 2 or 3 above, navigate to the "create user" activity and display data as if nothings changed. Here's how I'm currently trying to do it: Use onDestroy() and isFinishing() functions to find when the activity is being killed, to cover point 1 above (to then try and save all data). Save all data with onSaveInstanceState into a bundle (to cover point 2 above) Does the bundle created with onSaveInstanceState survive the activity being killed for more resources, so when its recreated the previous state can be retrieved (as in point 3 above)? No idea how to implement point 4. Any help would be massively appreciated. Cheers!

  • Latex: Text cannot be placed below image

    - by Frederik Wordenskjold
    I love latex! But sometimes, it does not love me... I'm having a problem with an image and some text. I have this code: Some text...\\ \begin{figure}[ht] \centering \includegraphics[scale=0.75]{picture.jpg} \caption{The caption} \label{fig:picture} \end{figure} Some more text... Basically, I want this: Some text. (Above image in the code) [end of page / new page] image Some more text. (Below the image in the code) [start of new section] But, what the above code gives me is this: Some text. (Above image in the code) Some more text. (Below the image in the code) [end of page / new page] image [start of new section] Latex insists on putting everything but a new section above the image even though its below the image in the code. Its probably because the image floats on top - but whats my alternative? There's not enough space on the first page to display the image there, to I cannot use [h] as the float-alignment. I can "hack it", by creating an empty new section, like \section*{}, but this creates some white-space, which looks weird. Any suggestions?

  • Final classes in Python 3.x- something Guido isn't telling me?

    - by GlenCrawford
    This question is built on top of many assumptions. If one assumption is wrong, then the whole thing falls over. I'm still relatively new to Python and have just entered the curious/exploratory phase. It is my understanding that Python does not support the creating of classes that cannot be subclassed (final classes). However, it seems to me that the bool class in Python cannot be subclassed. This makes sense when the intent of the bool class is considered (because bool is only supposed to have two values: true and false), and I'm happy with that. What I want to know is how this class was marked as final. So my question is: how exactly did Guido manage to prevent subclassing of bool? >>> class TestClass(bool): pass Traceback (most recent call last): File "<pyshell#2>", line 1, in <module> class TestClass(bool): TypeError: type 'bool' is not an acceptable base type Related question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2172189/why-i-cant-extend-bool-in-python

  • ASP.NET MVC UpdateModel doesn't update inherited public properties??

    - by mrjoltcola
    I refactored some common properties into a base class and immediately my model updates started failing. UpdateModel() and TryUpdateModel() do not seem to update inherited public properties. I cannot find detailed info on MSDN nor Google as to the rules or semantics of these methods. The docs are terse (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd470933.aspx), simply stating: Updates the specified model instance using values from the controller's current value provider. Well that leads us to believe it is as simple as that. It makes no mention of limitations with inheritance. My assumption is the methods are reflecting on the top class only, ignoring base properties, but this seems to be an ugly shortcoming, if so. SOLVED: Eep, this turned out to have nothing to do with inheritance. My base class was implemented with public fields, not properties. Switching them to formal properties (adding {get; set; }) was all I needed. This has bitten me before, I keep wanting to use simple, public fields.

  • How to restrict access to a class's data based on state?

    - by Marcus Swope
    In an ETL application I am working on, we have three basic processes: Validate and parse an XML file of customer information from a third party Match values received in the file to values in our system Load customer data in our system The issue here is that we may need to display the customer information from any or all of the above states to an internal user and there is data in our customer class that will never be populated before the values have been matched in our system (step 2). For this reason, I would like to have the values not even be available to be accessed when the customer is in this state, and I would like to have to avoid some repeated logic everywhere like: if (customer.IsMatched) DisplayTextOnWeb(customer.SomeMatchedValue); My first thought for this was to add a couple interfaces on top of Customer that would only expose the properties and behaviors of the current state, and then only deal with those interfaces. The problem with this approach is that there seems to be no good way to move from an ICustomerWithNoMatchedValues to an ICustomerWithMatchedValues without doing direct casts, etc... (or at least I can't find one). I can't be the first to have come across this, how do you normally approach this? As a last caveat, I would like for this solution to play nice with FluentNHibernate :) Thanks in advance...

  • is it possible to turn off vdso on glibc side?

    - by heroxbd
    I am aware that passing vdso=0 to kernel can turn this feature off, and that the dynamic linker in glibc can automatic detect and use vdso feature from kernel. Here I met with this problem. There is a RHEL 5.6 box (kernel 2.6.18-238.el5) in my institution where I only have a normal user access, probably suffering from RHEL bug 673616. As I compile a toolchain of linux-headers-3.9/gcc-4.7.2/glibc-2.17/binutils-2.23 on top of it, gcc bootstrap fails in cc1 in stage2 cannnot be run Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00002aaaaaaca6eb in ?? Both cc1 and the test program can be run on another running RHEL 5.5 (kernel 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5) with gcc-4.7.2/glibc-2.17/binutils-2.23 as normal user. I cannot simply upgrade the box to a newer RHEL version, nor could I turn VDSO off via sysctl or proc. The question is, is there a way to compile glibc so that it turns off VDSO unconditionally?
