• Limiting the list of archives in wordpress based on date

  I am using wordpress and I am displaying my archives list in a sidebar using the function wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); I have posts from Feb 2005 to April 2010 but I want to display June 2009 onwards links. (i.e. june 2009, july 2009, ....april 2010). How do I prevent Feb 2005 - may 2005 from being displayed in the archives list. (Please don't suggest adding a limit i.e. wp_get_archives('type=daily&limit=15'); . That will not solve my problem)

• Javascript error in Setting focus to a textbox inside a lightbox(Overlay) window.

  Hi All, I have a textbox, a button and a "AdvancedSearch" link on my aspx page. On page load, the focus is set to the textbox. On click of the "AdvancedSearch" link, a lightbox(overlay) window will be opened. I want to set focus to a textbox present within this lightbox window. I am using javascript to achieve this. The code looks somewhat like this: if( element.type != "hidden" && element.style.display != "none" && !element.disabled ) { element.focus(); return; } when the lightbox window loads, i get a javascript error - "Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus" Any idea why this error is thrown and why it is not able to set focus to the textbox in the lightbox window?   I'm attempting to call a method written in C++/CLI from C#. The C++/CLI code is used to update a TIMESTAMP column in an Oracle database, given a record ID and the System::DateTime object which is the .NET compatible data type for Oracle's TIMESTAMP type. The method I am calling has the following prototype: bool ChangeJobUpdateDate (int jobIdIn, System::DateTime^ updateDateIn) I've added a reference to this DLL project in a test project that I made; I'm writing the tests in C#. However, when I try to call this method from the C# unit test project, the function appears to have the following method declaration (via intellisense): bool ChangeJobUpdateDate (int jobIdIn, ValueType updateDateIn) I'm admittedly not that familiar with C++/CLI, so is there something I'm missing?

• Reference variable to an object instantiated/initialized in another class in Java

  The reason I'm asking is because I'm getting NullPointerException. I now this is very easy but I'm pretty new programming and find this a bit confusing. So say I have initialized an object in a class and want to access that same object from another class. Like now for instance I'm working on a small Chess game, in my model Game class I have an instance of Board, an object. Board, in turn, has an array of Squares. Square[][]. Game has board, board has Square[][]. Now if I want to access the Square[][] through the object board (in Game) of type Board. Do I just declare a variable with the same name and type or do I have to initialize it again? Board board OR Board board = new Board(); Note, I have already initialized board in the class Game so if I do it again, won't they be two totally different Board objects?

OnCommand="lnkDeleteRestriction_Command" CommandName="Delete" CommandArgument="<%# Container.DataItem %>"></asp:LinkButton> Now,..the repeater is being bound to a list of Restriction objects so when the lnkDeleteRestriction_Command is fired I'm expecting that I can cast the CommandEventArgs.CommandArgument which is an object to my Restriction type. This doesn't seem to be so,..I just get the fully qualified type name as a string. Can I receive a typed command argument at all and if not, why is it an object? Thanks in advance,

  Say I got this sql schema. Table Job: id,title, type, is_enabled Table JobFileCopy: job_id,from_path,to_path Table JobFileDelete: job_id, file_path Table JobStartProcess: job_id, file_path, arguments, working_directory There are many other tables with varying number of columns and they all got foreign key job_id which is linked to id in table Job. My questions: Is this the right approach? I don't have requirement to delete anything at anytime. I will require to select and insert mostly. Secondly, what is the best approach to get the list of jobs with relevant details from all the different tables in a single database hit? e.g I would like to select top 20 jobs with details, their details can be in any table (depends on column type in table Job) which I don't know until runtime. I can test the thing by sending a POST message to the service like this: POST http://localhost:3602/RestService.svc/ HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost:3602 User-Agent: Fiddler Content-Type: application/json Content-Length: 51 {"age":25,"firstName":"Hejhaj","surName":"Csuhaj"} This works. What if I'd like to have a method like this? Person IncrementAge(Person p, int amount); So it'd have multiple parameters. How should I construct the POST message for this to work? Is this possible?   Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to make an array which would have mutiple types of data fields. So far i was using aMyArray: array of array [0..1] of TPoint; But now, it is not enough for me. I need to add 3 more elements to the existing 2 "Point" elements making it an array like aMyArray: array of (TPoint,TPoint,real,real,real) So each element of aMyArray would have 5 'children', 2 of which are of a TPoint type and 3 of them are 'real' type. Is this possible to implement somehow?

  Hi, I have to define a 24-bit data type.I am using char[3] to represent the type. Can I typedef char[3] to type24? I tried it in a code sample. I put typedef char[3] type42; in my header file. The compiler did not complain about it. But when I defined a function void foo(type24 val) {} in my C file, it did complain. I would like to be able to define functions like type24_to_int32(type24 val) instead of type24_to_int32(char value[3]).

  Is there a way of repeating a character while in Vim's insert mode? For example, say I would like to insert 80 dashes, in something like emacs I would type: Ctrl+U 8 0 - The only way I know how to do it in VIM is to exit normal mode for the repeat argument, then go back into insert mode to type the dash, then exit to insert the actual dashes, AND then go back into insert mode to carry on typing. The sequence is a really long: <ESC> 8 0 a - <ESC> a It would be nice not to switch in and out of modes. Thanks

However, I am not sure how R would interpret my data the way I intend. I will explain the types of matrix by example.   Hello! Sadly, I can't remember where I read it, but... ...in C++ you can derive a class from a template parameter. Im pretty sure it was called Feature Oriented Programming (FOP) and meant to be somehow useful. It was something like: template <class T> class my_class : T { // some very useful stuff goes here ;) } My questions about this: What is the sense of such pattern? Since this it not possible in Java / C#, how this pattern is achieved in these languages? Can it be expected to be implemented in Java / C# one day? (Well, first Java would need to get rid of type erasure) EDIT: I'm really not talking about generics in Java / C# (where you can't derive a class from a generic type parameter)
