All the other code is working but I can't find how to either access the css properties directly or attach a new classname to the div. borderDiv: SC.View.design({ layout:{top:60, left:60, width: 400, height: 525}, classNames:"panel", mouseEntered: function(evt) { alert("this is working"); // // No idea what to put here to change css properties // return YES } })

  • Faking Fixed Position in IE6

    - by Andrew
    I have a site that utilizes a bottom fixed position masthead here: http://www.entheospartners.com/newsite/ This setup works great in all browsers except IE6, which doesn't support fixed positioning in the least, so here's what I've done: When an IE6 user comes to the page, I make the determination if scrolling is necessary using this bit of code: var windowHeight = $(window).height(); var totalHeight = windowHeight - 100; // where 100 is the sum of the top nav height + footer height var contentHeight; if($('#subpage-content-small').length) { // main content div for a three column layout contentHeight = $('#subpage-content-small').height(); }; if($('#subpage-content-wide').length) { // main content div for a two column layout contentHeight = $('#subpage-content-wide').height(); }; if(contentHeight > totalHeight) { $('#container-container').css({ 'overflow-y' : "scroll", 'height' : totalHeight }); }; ...which calculates everything correctly, puts the scrollbars where they need to be (flush right), and sets them to the appropriate height. The problem is that the scrollbars don't move the content. I can't say that I've ever seen anything quite like this before, so I'm hoping someone else on here has. Thanks in advance! PS - Obviously, this needs to be looked at in IE6 for troubleshooting, which I know will be as painful for you as it is for me.

  • Ajax success function firing before java class responds

    - by user1899281
    I am creating a login function with ajax and am having an issue where the success function (SuccessLogin) fires before getting an ajax response. I am running the code as google web app from eclipse and I can see when debugging the java class file, that the javascript is throwing an alert for the success response from the class being false before the debugger catches the break point in the class file. I have only been writing code for a couple months now so I am sure its a stupid little error on my part. $(document).ready(function() { sessionChecker() // sign in $('#signInForm').click(function () { $().button('loading') var email = $('#user_username').val(); sessionStorage.email = $('#user_username').val(); var password= $('#user_password').val(); var SignInRequest = { type: "UserLoginRequest", email: email, password: password } var data= JSON.stringify(SignInRequest); //disabled all the text fields $('.text').attr('disabled','true'); //start the ajax $.ajax({ url: "/resources/user/login", type: "POST", data: data, cache: false, success: successLogin(data) }); }); //if submit button is clicked $('#Register').click(function () { $().button('loading') var email = $('#email').val(); if ($('#InputPassword').val()== $('#ConfirmPassword').val()) { var password= $('input[id=InputPassword]').val(); } else {alert("Passwords do not match"); return ;} var UserRegistrationRequest = { type: "UserRegistrationRequest", email: email, password: password } var data= JSON.stringify(UserRegistrationRequest); //disabled all the text fields $('.text').attr('disabled','true'); //start the ajax $.ajax({ url: "/resources/user/register", type: "POST", data: data, cache: false, success: function (data) { if (data.success==true) { //hide the form $('form').fadeOut('slow'); //show the success message $('.done').fadeIn('slow'); } else alert('data.errorReason'); } }); return false; }); }); function successLogin (data){ if (data.success) { sessionStorage.userID= data.userID var userID = data.userID sessionChecker(userID); } else alert(data.errorReason); } //session check function sessionChecker(uid) { if (sessionStorage.userID!= null){ var userID = sessionStorage.userID }; if (userID != null){ $('#user').append(userID) $('#fat-menu_1').fadeOut('slow') $('#fat-menu_2').append(sessionStorage.email).fadeIn('slow') }; }

  • How to properly use the .animate() function -- top

    - by sadmicrowave
    Is this the proper way to use the .animate(top) function? Positive number (animate down)-- $("div#container div#history-menu").animate({top:'180px'}, 600); Negative number (animate up)-- $("div#container div#history-menu").animate({top:'-180px'}, 600); Because I'm getting a java error in my error console that says: "error in parsing value for property 'top'. I'm building a survey w/ Codeigniter, and it's getting cumbersomely long...so I want to split it up into sections (about 5). If I want each section to validate, and submit to db after the user clicks "next", what is the best way to do this? I've never made a multi-step process before. Any advice for a noob? :)

  • Catching the Facebook Login Event to change the HTML of the parent page

    - by Arkid
    I am trying to create Facebook based login using Javascript. Once a person clicks a button he should get a div replaced by another div, if he is logged in to Facebook. However, if he is not logged in to Facebook he is asked his Facebook credentials and he logs in. However, we need the user to click the button once more for the div replacement to happen in this case. I want to know if there is a way in which I can catch the Facebook login event and change the div? Is polling a way or there is some other way out. I want to use only Javascript.

  • Get all Select Elements in a Form by referencing $(this) instead of $("form select")

    - by DaveDev
    Hi Guys I'm currently getting all the Select elements that exist in a form with the following: $("form").submit(function(event) { // gather data var data = GetSelectData($("form select")); // do submit $.post($(this).attr("action"), data, ..etc) }); Instead of passing in $("form select"), is there a way I can say something like $(this).children('select') // this doesn't work, btw to get all the select elements that exist within the context of the form the submit event is executing for? This will allow me to reduce my code to the following, moving all the functionality into a common function: $("form").submit(function(event) { GatherDataAndSubmit($(this)); }); function GatherDataAndSubmit(obj) { var data = GetSelectData(obj.children('select')); $.post(obj.attr("action"), data, ..etc) } Thanks Dave

  • How to run setInterval() on multiple canvases simultaneously?

    - by Alex
    I have a page which has several <canvas> elements. I am passing the canvas ID and an array of data to a function which then grabs the canvas info and passes the data onto a draw() function which in turn processes the given data and draws the results onto the canvas. So far, so good. Example data arrays; $(function() { setup($("#canvas-1"), [[110,110,100], [180,180,50], [220,280,80]]); setup($("#canvas-2"), [[110,110,100], [180,180,50], [220,280,80]]); }); setup function; function setup(canvas, data) { ctx = canvas[0].getContext('2d'); var i = data.length; var dimensions = { w : canvas.innerWidth(), h : canvas.innerHeight() }; draw(dimensions, data, i); } This works perfectly. draw() runs and each canvas is populated. However - I need to animate the canvas. As soon as I replace line 8 of the above example; draw(dimensions, data, i); with setInterval( function() { draw(dimensions, data, i); }, 33 ); It stops working and only draws the last canvas (with the others remaining blank). I'm new to both javascript and canvas so sorry if this is an obvious one, still feeling my way around. Guidance in the right direction much appreciated! Thanks.
