    I've seen the other posts, but they dont have the markers being looped through dynamically like mine. How do I create an event that will close the infowindow when another marker is clicked on using the following code? $(function(){ var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(45.522015,-122.683811); var settings = { zoom: 10, center: latlng, disableDefaultUI:false, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE }; var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), settings); $.getJSON('api',function(json){ for (var property in json) { if (json.hasOwnProperty(property)) { var json_data = json[property]; var the_marker = new google.maps.Marker({ title:json_data.item.headline, map:map, clickable:true, position:new google.maps.LatLng( parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].latitude), parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].longitude) ) }); function buildHandler(map, marker, content) { return function() { var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: '<div class="marker"><h1>'+content.headline+'</h1><p>'+content.full_content+'</p></div>' }); infowindow.open(map, marker); }; } new google.maps.event.addListener(the_marker, 'click',buildHandler(map, the_marker, {'headline':json_data.item.headline,'full_content':json_data.item.full_content})); } } }); });

  • Why is the dropdown menu aligned to the left?

    - by fmz
    I am working on a dropdown navigation for a site and am having some trouble with the dropdown portion aligning with the parent category - it shifts all the way to the left. Here is the html: <ul class="dropdown"> <li><a href="#" id="home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="about">About Us</a> <ul class="sub-menu"> <li><a href="#">Our History</a></li> <li><a href="#">Our Process</a></li> <li><a href="#">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="#">Financing</a></li> <li><a href="#">Testimonials</a></li> <li><a href="#">Subcontractors</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#" id="personal">Personal Banking</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="commercial">Commercial Banking</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="service">Customer Service</a> <ul class="sub-menu"> <li><a href="#">Our History</a></li> <li><a href="#">Our Process</a></li> <li><a href="#">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="#">Financing</a></li> <li><a href="#">Testimonials</a></li> <li><a href="#">Subcontractors</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#" id="investors">Investor Relations</a></li> <li><a href="#" id="contact">Contact Us</a></li> </ul> Here is the CSS: ul.dropdown { position: relative; background: #4e8997; height: 40px; padding-left: 5px; } ul.dropdown li { float: left; zoom: 1; } ul.dropdown li a { display: block; margin-top: 5px; padding: .5em .6em; color: #fff; font: bold 14px "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, sans-serif; text-transform: uppercase; border: none; } ul.dropdown a:hover { background-color: #c29c5d; color: #fff; } ul.dropdown a:active { background-color: #c29c5d; color: #fff; } /* LEVEL TWO */ ul.dropdown ul { width: 200px; visibility: hidden; position: absolute; top:100%; left: 0; } ul.dropdown ul li { font: 13px "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, sans-serif; border-bottom: 1px solid #ccc; float: none; color: #fff; background-color: #c29c5d; height: 20px; } ul.dropdown ul li a { display: inline-block; } ul.dropdown ul li a:hover { background-color: #a2834d; color: #fff; height: 20px; } I tried changing the ul.dropdown ul to position relative, but that breaks the navigation. I would appreciate some help getting this corrected. Thanks.

  • CSS3 animations - how to make different animations to different elements on scroll

    - by DeanDeey
I have a question about the doing CSS3 animations on scroll.. I found a code, that shows the DIV element after the user scrolls down: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { /* Every time the window is scrolled ... */ $(window).scroll( function(){ /* Check the location of each desired element */ $('.hideme').each( function(i){ var bottom_of_object = $(this).position().top + $(this).outerHeight(); var bottom_of_window = $(window).scrollTop() + $(window).height(); /* If the object is completely visible in the window, fade it it */ if( bottom_of_window > bottom_of_object ){ $(this).animate({'opacity':'1'},500); } }); }); }); </script> I'm building a site, which one will have about 5 different boxes, which one will be shown when the user scrolls down to each box. But my question is, how i make the animation inside those boxes. Foe example: in each box there is title, content and images. How do i make all the elements appear after each other, because with this code all the class elements are shown at once. But i would like that if user scrolls down, first the tittle appears, then the content and at the end the images. And then when user scrolls to the next box, the same process repeat's itself. I use some CSS3 delays, but in this case i don't know how long will user take to scroll down. thanks!

  • Behavior of local variables in JavaScripts with()-statement

    - by thr
I noticed some weird (and to my knowledge undefined behavior, by the ECMA 3.0 Spec at least), take the following snippet: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); alert(bar); } alert(bar); It crashes in both Firefox and Chrome, because "bar" doesn't exist in the first alert(); statement, this is as expected. But if you add a declaration of bar inside the with()-statement, so it looks like this: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); var bar = "g2"; alert(bar); } alert(bar); It will produce the following: undefined, 1, g2, undefined It seems as if you create a variable inside a with()-statement most browsers (tested on Chrome or Firefox) will make that variable exist outside that scope also, it's just set to undefined. Now from my perspective bar should only exist inside the with()-statement, and if you make the example even weirder: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; var zoo; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); var bar = "g2"; zoo = function() { return bar; } alert(bar); } alert(bar); alert(zoo()); It will produce this: undefined, 1, g2, undefined, g2 So the bar inside the with()-statement does not exist outside of it, yet the runtime somehow "automagically" creates a variable named bar that is undefined in its top level scope (global or function) but this variable does not refer to the same one as inside the with()-statement, and that variable will only exist if a with()-statement has a variable named bar that is defined inside it. Very weird, and inconsistent. Anyone have an explanation for this behavior? There is nothing in the ECMA Spec about this.

  • Create a jQueryUI 1.8 Button menu

    - by Brian M. Hunt
Now that jQueryUI 1.8 is out, I was browsing through the updates and came across the new Button widget, and in particular one of the demos with the SplitButton with a dropdown. This demo seems to suggest that the Button widget could be used to create a dropdown menu here. As a matter of discussion, I was wondering what ways there are to go about creating a dropdown menu with this new Button widget. Cheers.

  • How do I target a div without a class or id but with all these specific style-attributes

    - by Ben
I'm restyling a certain page where I don't have access to all the source-HTML. So I'm left over with some hard to target elements within a page I need removed. For example the page is swamped with <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"></div>. To get rid of them I tried this in CSS: div[style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"] { display:none !important; } I'd like to fix this using CSS, because the the HTML that needs to be removed is updated using ajax. How do I target a div without a class or id but with all these specific style-attributes? • How to select the first property with unknown name from JSON and how to select first item from array

    - by Oscar Godson
I actually have two questions, both are probably simple, but for some odd reason I cant figure it out... I've worked with JSON 100s of times before too! but here is the JSON in question: {"69256":{"streaminfo":{"stream_ID":"1025","sourceowner_ID":"2","sourceowner_avatar":"http:\/\/content.nozzlmedia.com\/images\/sourceowner_avatar2.jpg","sourceownertype_ID":"1","stream_name":"Twitter","streamtype":"Social media","appsarray":[]},"item":{"headline":"Charboy","main_image":"http:\/\/content.nozzlmedia.com\/images\/author_avatar173212.jpg","summary":"ate a tomato and avocado for dinner...","nozzl_captured":"2010-05-12 23:02:12","geoarray":[{"state":"OR","county":"Multnomah","city":"Portland","neighborhood":"Downtown","zip":"97205","street":"462 SW 11th Ave","latitude":"45.5219","longitude":"-122.682"}],"full_content":"ate a tomato and avocado for dinner tonight. such tasty foods. just enjoyable.","body_text":"ate a tomato and avocado for dinner tonight. such tasty foods. just enjoyable.","author_name":"Charboy","author_avatar":"http:\/\/content.nozzlmedia.com\/images\/author_avatar173212.jpg","fulltext_url":"http:\/\/twitter.com\/charboy\/statuses\/13889868936","leftovers":{"twitter_id":"tag:search.twitter.com,2005:13889868936","date":"2010-05-13T02:59:59Z","location":"iPhone: 45.521866,-122.682262"},"wordarray":{"0":"ate","1":"tomato","2":"avocado","3":"dinner","4":"tonight","5":"tasty","6":"foods","7":"just","8":"enjoyable","9":"Charboy","11":"Twitter","13":"state:OR","14":"county:Multnomah, OR","15":"city:Portland, OR","16":"neighborhood:Downtown","17":"zip:97205"}}}} Question 1: How do I loop through each item (69256) when the number is random? e.g. item 1 is 123, item2 is 646? Like, for example, a normal JSON feed would have something like: {'item':{'blah':'lorem'},'item':{'blah':'ipsum'}} the JS would be like console.log(item.blah) to return lorem then ipsum in a loop How do I do it when i dont know the first item of the object? Question 2: How do I select items from the geoarray object? I tried: json.test.item.geoarray.latitude and json.test.item.geoarray['latitude']

  • I would like to know how to put a "change image" layer like in facebook on a mouseover event

    - by netadictos
Hello: I have a photo gallery I would like that every time a user does mouseover the image, there is a button on the top of this image that appears. The user can click on it. But every time that the user mouse out of the photo it must disappear. It works like the "change photo" in Facebook, with the photo of your profile. The problem I am having is that when I try to get over the button that appears (in my code is a link), it disappear because javascript understands that the mouse is just out of the image, even if this button/link is over the image. The image that I use is positioned absolutely over the image. This is my code, where you can see that I create a dom element that I append on the link of the image and then when there is a mouseout, I remove it. $('a.ftelement').mouseover(function() { var fav = $('<a></a>'); fav.attr("class","imgfavorito"); fav.attr("id","fav"+$J(this).attr("id")).html("<img src=\"/im/favorito.gif\"/>"); fav.appendTo(this); }); $('a.ftelement').mouseout(function() { $("a.imgfavorito").remove() }); The result is this graphically (http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/41fbac8994.gif):
