    I have assigned the 80% height of the viewport to my div as height. In Button click i have displayed the height of the div. This works fine in ie9, ie10.   • ASP.NET: How to "reset" validation after calling Page_ClientValidate

    I have an ASP.NET page with a jQuery dialog that is displayed to change some data. I am setting up the jQuery dialog so that when the user clicks the OK button it calls ASP.NET's Page_ClientValidate('validationGroup') via javascript, finds all the invalid controls and changes their CSS class. So here's the scenario: the user opens the dialog, keys in some invalid data, clicks OK (receiving the validation messages), and then clicks Cancel. Now the dialog is closed, but the validation messages are still there, so that when they open the dialog again, the data goes back to the way it was initially, but the form is still in the invalid state (the validation messages are still displaying). What I need is a "reset" function of sorts to call after calling Page_ClientValidate('validationGroup'). Does this exist?

    Hi. I've got some complicated requirements and wondered if there's a way to accomplish this via jQuery: User comes to a web page for the first time today and we show DIV_1. After 30 seconds, we dissolve DIV_1 to DIV_2. We set a cookie on the user's machine that expires when s/he returns tomorrow. If the same user returns today, we only show DIV_2. Tomorrow, we repeat the process: The user will see DIV_1 and then it dissolves to DIV_2. How do you accomplish this via jQuery? Thank you.

    I have some objects, that keep created DOMObjects, like here: function category(){ var domBlock; this.block = function(){ if (!domBlock){ // Here dom-object constructor $('<div></div>'); etc } return domBlock; // jquery object, // but i test and native document.createElement } } Then i clear category's area, and append old and new received(with Ajax) objects: area.html(''); for(id in category_list){ area.append( category_list[id].block() ); } where category_list is list that contain category objects. Area is jQuery object. In other browsers (except IE) i get area with all needed categories, but in IE i get only new received categories(that just create DomObject), other old objects that keeped old DomObject not show. I know it possible make with innerHTML, but i wont keep DomObject, not text. Because DomObject keep many events. And it very hard for browser attach events for each DomObject after refresh area.

When the timer reaches 1, I'd like to trigger a click event. The difficulty I'm having is getting a script that i'm running via Jash to know when the timer changes to 1.   • Save the contents of manipulated div to a variable and pass to php file

    I have tried to use AJAX, but nothing I come up with seems to work correctly. I am creating a menu editor. I echo part of a file using php and manipulate it using javascript/jquery/ajax (I found the code for that here: http://www.prodevtips.com/2010/03/07/jquery-drag-and-drop-to-sort-tree/). Now I need to get the edited contents of the div (which has an unordered list in it) I am echoing and save it to a variable so I can write it to the file again. I couldn't get that resource's code to work so I'm trying to come up with another solution. If there is a code I can put into the $("#save").click(function(){ }); part of the javascript file, that would work, but the .post doesn't seem to want to work for me. If there is a way to initiate a php preg_match in an onclick, that would be the easiest. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the jQuery API page for the .animate() function, the user "fbogner" says: Just if anyone is interested: Animations are "rendered" using a setInterval with a time out of 13ms. This is quite fast! Chrome's fastest possible interval is about 10ms. All other browsers "sample" at about 20-30ms. Any idea how jQuery determined to use this specific number?

    Hi Gurus, This is with reference to this question where I got one tabular report format. I need to update the user entered values correctly back to the same table rows. I am in the process of doing this by using general form post data methods by using some logics which I think will not be easy to maintain. So, just out of curiosity, Is there a front end creator javascript libraries or frameworks which can create the front end for any query's resultset and updates the corresponding rows when the user updates them from front end. This need not have all the full functionality, any one usable, customizable thing will reduce the code maintenance problems. I have googled for some javascript libraris for this but not able to get which will be suitable. Please suggest any useful tools. My environment is Mysql, PHP, JQuery, XAMPP server on Windows.   • Why can't I set attribute "TYPE" of LI element in IE?

    Hello, I've just come to an unusual beghavior of Internet Explorer IE (v8.0.6001.18904). When I try to set "type" attribute of any <LI> element, it will result into error. I used jQuery (v1.32): $("<li>").attr("type", "test"); The same thing works for DIV. LI element does not seem to have "type" attribute reserved by HTML or XHTML definitions. It also might be jQuery issue. Solution is simple - just use another attribute name :-) But is there someone out there who knows WHY does this error occur? Could it happen with another attribute names? Why the error comes with LI element only?

    In my spelling game there is a grid that is populated with words. The words are hidden and the aim of the game is to spell the word that is highlighted with the aid of a sound and a picture. To highlight a word you press the "next" button. At the moment if you spell the word correctly it says "well done" and you can advance to the next word, but if you spell it incorrectly you have to keep attempting the word until it is complete. As the game is designed for children I do not think this is the best approach, so I would like to make it so you can advance after 3 incorrect attempts. I have played around with the script so much trying to put counters on incorrect attempts and then making the button active but cannot seem to get it to work. Can someone please help me?     So, that's how works Interesting Tags: I add into them my interested tags like php, mysql, jquery and so on. Then, if any of questions has the same tags as mine it makes background orange. I understand how to use jquery to do that (there were related questions to that), but without mysql it can't be done. Now, here is a question. How is it done? I imagine like that: There is a row in mysql for every member, let's call it "interested_tags". After I write and submit my tag through input, it is being written in a row "interested_tags". Then, the main page has a query which shows all answers and it always checks answer's with mine tags with strpos like this if(strpos($question_tags, $my_tags) === true) {        //and here will be made background orange } Am I thinking right or is there any way to do it?
