Creating a session scoped bean in Google App Engine using Spring 2.5

Hi, I am trying to create a session bean in spring mvc. Using jquery validate with multiple fields of the same name

I am trying to get jquery validate to work on multiple fields. Reason being I have dynamically generated fields added and they are simply a list of numbers. Hi guys, I have an Action entity, that can have other Action objects as child in a bidirectional one-to-many relationship. Help with SqlCeChangeTracking

I'm trying to use a new class in SqlCe 3.5 SP2 called SqlCeChangeTracking. This class (allegedly) lets you turn on change tracking on a table, without using RDA replication or Sync Services. Assuming you have an open SqlCeConnection, you enable change tracking on a table like this: SqlCeChangeTracking tracker = new SqlCeChangeTracking(conn); tracker.EnableTracking(TableName, TrackingKeyType.PrimaryKey, TrackingOptions.All); This appears to work, sort of. When I open the SDF file and view it in SQL Server Management Studio, the table has three additional fields: __sysChangeTxBsn, __sysInsertTxBsn and __sysTrackingContext. According to the sparse documentation, these columns (along with the __sysOCSDeletedRows system table) are used to track changes. The problem is that these three columns always contain NULL values for all rows, no matter what I do. I can add, delete, edit etc. and those columns remain NULL no matter what (and no deleted records ever show up in __sysOCSDeletedRows). I have found virtually no documentation on this class at all, and the promised MSDN API appears non-existent. Anybody know how to use this class?

Error when adding code behind for Silverlight resource dictionary: AG_E_PARSER_BAD_TYPE

Hi, It should be possible to add a code behind file for a resource dictionary in Silverlight, but I keep getting the same error, thrown from the InitializeComponent method of my App.xaml constructor: XamlParseException: AG_E_PARSER_BAD_TYPE. The resource dictionary xaml file looks like this: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="Celerior.Annapurna.SL.ProvisiorResourceDictionary" x:ClassModifier="public"> ... </ResourceDictionary> If I remove the x:Class attribute everything works fine again (of course, I double-checked the class name and it's correct). I've just finished my first ASP.NET MVC (2) CMS. Next step is to build website that will show data from CMS's database. This is website design: #1 (Red box) - displays article categories. ViewModel: public class CategoriesDisplay { public CategoriesDisplay() { } public int CategoryID { set; get; } public string CategoryTitle { set; get; } } #2 (Brown box) - displays last x articles; skips those from green box #3. Viewmodel: public class ArticleDisplay { public ArticleDisplay() { } public int CategoryID { set; get; } public string CategoryTitle { set; get; } public int ArticleID { set; get; } public string ArticleTitle { set; get; } public string URLArticleTitle { set; get; } public DateTime ArticleDate; public string ArticleContent { set; get; } } #3 (green box) - Displays last x articles. Uses the same ViewModel as brown box #2 #4 (blue box) - Displays list of upcoming events. Uses dataContext.Model.Event as ViewModel Boxes #1, #2 and #4 will repeat all over the site and they are part of Master Page. So, my question is: what is the best way to transfer this data from Model to Controller and finally to View pages? Should I make a controller for master page and ViewModel class that will wrap all this classes together OR Should I create partial Views for every of these boxes and make each of them inherit appropriate class (if it is even possible that it works this way?) OR Should I put this repeated code in all controllers and all additional data transfer via ViewData, which would be probably the worse way :) OR There is maybe a better and more simple way but I don't know/see it? Getting fields_for and accepts_nested_attributes_for to work with a belongs_to relationship

I cannot seem to get a nested form to generate in a rails view for a belongs_to relationship using the new accepts_nested_attributes_for facility of Rails 2.3. I did check out many of the resources available and it looks like my code should be working, but fields_for explodes on me, and I suspect that it has something to do with how I have the nested models configured. The error I hit is a common one that can have many causes: '@account[owner]' is not allowed as an instance variable name Here are the two models involved: class Account < ActiveRecord::Base # Relationships belongs_to :owner, :class_name => 'User', :foreign_key => 'owner_id' accepts_nested_attributes_for :owner has_many :users end class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :account end Perhaps this is where I am doing it 'rong', as an Account can have an 'owner', and may 'users', but a user only has one 'account', based on the user model account_id key. This is the view code in new.html.haml that blows up on me: - form_for :account, :url => account_path do |account| = account.text_field :name - account.fields_for :owner do |owner| = owner.text_field :name And this is the controller code for the new action: class AccountsController < ApplicationController # GET /account/new def new @account = Account.new end end When I try to load /account/new I get the following exception: NameError in Accounts#new Showing app/views/accounts/new.html.haml where line #63 raised: @account[owner] is not allowed as an instance variable name If I try to use the mysterious 'build' method, it just bombs out in the controller, perhaps because build is just for multi-record relationships: class AccountsController < ApplicationController # GET /account/new def new @account = Account.new @account.owner.build end end You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! The error occurred while evaluating nil.build If I try to set this up using @account.owner_attributes = {} in the controller, or @account.owner = User.new, I'm back to the original error, "@account[owner] is not allowed as an instance variable name". Does anybody else have the new accepts_nested_attributes_for method working with a belongs_to relationship? Is there something special or different you have to do? All the official examples and sample code (like the great stuff over at Ryans Scraps) is concerned with multi-record associations.

However, if the getMapwidth function gets called before it finishes loading, the program will fail. How can I make the class wait to accept function calls until after the file is loaded?

UIImagePickerController dismissModalViewController

I am trying to invoke UIImagePickerController to select a movie on iPhone 3GS and when the movie is selected, i just dismiss it and present MyViewController modally with a configured delay of 1.0 seconds. What I notice is 10% of the times, presentModalViewController on MyViewController does nothing whereas it works 90% of the times. I want to understand why is this behavior and what is the remedy. Otherwise, the self.modalViewController.class is MyViewController. I want to know why is the behavior so unpredictable and what is the workaround or other way to achieve the same thing I intend.

How to require fullscreen mode in a jQTouch application?

I'm using jQTouch to develop a version of a website optimized for safari on the iphone. The jQTouch demo helpfully shows how to show an "install this" message for users not using full screen mode and hide it for those who are. When in fullscreen mode, the body should have the class "fullscreen." So you can hide the "install this" message for people who have already added your app to their home page by adding this css rule to your stylesheet: body.fullscreen #home .info { display: none; } What I'd like to do is require users to use the app in fullscreen mode only. When viewed from the regular browser, they should only see a message asking them to install the app. That message should of course be hidden otherwise. This ought to be really, really easy, so I must just be missing something obvious. I thought one way to do this would be to simply test for the class "fullscreen" on the body: if it's not there, use goTo to get to another div, or hide the other divs, or something like that. Strangely, however, this doesn't work. As a test, I've still got the original "info" message, as in the jQTouch demo, and it doesn't show up when I launch in fullscreen mode. So the body must have the fullscreen class. And yet I can't find any other trace of it: when I put this alert to test things after the document has loaded, I get nothing when launching in fullscreen mode: alert($("body").attr("class")); I also thought I might test for fullscreen mode by checking for the value of the fullScreen boolean. But this doesn't seem to work either. What am I missing? What is the best way to do this?

I have several User Controls in a project, and one of them retrieves items from an XML, creates objects of the type "ClassItem" and should notify the other UserControl information about those items. I have created a class for my object (the "model" all items will have): public class ClassItem { public int Id { get; set; } public string Type { get; set; } } I have another class that is used to notify the other User Controls when an object of the type "ClassItem" is created: public class Class2: INotifyPropertyChanged { // Properties public ObservableCollection<ClassItem> ItemsCollection { get; internal set; } // Events public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; // Methods public void ShowItems() { ItemsCollection = new ObservableCollection<ClassItem>(); if (PropertyChanged != null) { PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs("ItemsCollection")); } } } The data comes from an XML file that is parsed in order to create the objects of type ClassItem: void DisplayItems(string xmlContent) { XDocument xmlItems = XDocument.Parse(xmlContent); var items = from item in xmlItems.Descendants("item") select new ClassItem{ Id = (int)item.Element("id"), Type = (string)item.Element("type) }; } If I'm not mistaken, this is supposed to parse the xml and create a ClassItem object for each item it finds in the XML. Hence, each time a new ClassItem object is created, this should fire the Notifications for all the UserControls that are "bind" to the "ItemsCollection" notifications defined in Class2. Yet the code in Class2 doesn't even seem to be run :-( and there are no notifications of course... Am I mistaken in any of the assumptions I've done, or am I missing something? There is a UIBarButtonItem on the toolbar. The idea here is that double-tapping anywhere toggles the appearance of the toolbar. All other gestures must occur on the EAGLView. My problem is that taps directly on the UIBarButtonItem show touch.view to be the UIView subclass UIToolbarTextButton which is undocumented and can't be introspected. Huh? All the fmod code is in this DX9Platform project, which generates a lib file. DX9Platform includes fmodex_vc.lib and builds fine. However buildign Engien4 results in unresolved external symbol messages referencing files that use fmod in the DX9Platform project I have tried adding fmodex_vc.lib to the Engine4 project, with no success, how do I fix this? Intellij Javafx artifact - how do you make it?

I've been trying all day to turn my javafx application into a jar file. I'm using Java 1.7 update 7. Oracle has some information, but it just seems scattered all over the place. Intellij is almost doing the job, but I get the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/application/Application Which seems to say that I need to tell java where the jfxrt.jar is... If I add this jar to my classpath info for the manifest build in intellij - ctrl+shift+alt+s - Artifacts - Output Layout tab - Class Path, then I get another error: Could not find or load main class com.downloadpinterest.code.Main It seems strange to have to include jfxrt.jar in my class path though... I've tried to create an ant script as well, but I feel like IntelliJ is 90% of the way there - and I just need a bit of help to figure out why I need to include jfxrt.jar, and why my Main class isn't being found (I'm guessing I need to add it to the classpath somehow?). Could anyone clue me up as to what is happening? I had a basic gui before which worked fine, but JavaFX seems to be making life complicated!

Suggestions for displaying code on webpages, MUST use <br> for newline

Hi, I want to post code snippets online (wordpress.com blog) - and have its whitespace formatted nicely. See the answers suggested by this other SO question: Those would be OK, except that I like to copy code to clip board or clip entire pages using Evernote - and they use either the <pre> tag or <table> (or both) to format the code. 'click' observer in Prototype

I have a page which contains several divs (each with a unique ID and the same class, 'parent'). Underneath each "parent" div, is a div with class "child" and unique ID name -child. This DIV is upon page load empty. How can i handle a form submit using REAL OOP in PHP

Im used to java and creating UML.. and i was wondering how can PHP be OOP, the objects live only until you make a request.. then they destroy, so if im using a database is useless to create a class and add the members (variables) to the class, they will be useless.. i cant pass the main system object from one page to another, or similar so how can PHP be compare to jave? you never do OOP .. i mean REAL OOP.. not creating classes , in fact your index will be a procedural file with some object instance and then ? how about if i make a html form and i want to submit the data.. i have to call a file which is not a class is a php procedural file were i grab the submited data with POST, from that file you will instance a class and do some logic there.. but for me thats not pure OOP.. can somebody point me to the right way of OOP using a form submit example ?
