• how to get around the command line length limit

  I've been working on a small and simple program that i drop files onto and based on certian rules they are moved to diffrent places. the program works fine unless i drop more than a few files on the program then it kicks back an error (that appears to be more windows than anything) that the start up command c:\myapp.exe \file \file \file is to long I realize i could set up a background proccess but i really would prefer that this program not run in the backround (where it would be idle 99.999999999% of the time) Can anyone think of any way around this limitation?

Each 'digit' of the code has a value of 0 to 9 and A to Z. some examples: the first code in the sequence is 000 009 - next code is - 00A 00D - next code is - 00E AAZ - next code is - AB0 the last code is ZZZ.   Using WiX, we would like to be able to uninstall a previous version if it is already installed. I am able to do this automatically based on the thread here. But how does one go about prompting the user if they actually want to uninstall the old version first, before running the RemoveExistingProducts action? ie. through a custom menu item that only launches if FindRelatedProducts returns 1, for example?

Basically all of these are constructed using ActiveX. Unfortunately ActiveX and WPF don't play well together. And ClickOnce Deployment doesn't register Interop COM components. I need to find a good, pure .Net managed code implementation.

Table A has following columns: id name description Table B has the following columns: id a_id(foreign key to Table A) ip_address date Basically Table B contains a row for each time a user views a row from Table A. My question is how do I sort Table A results, based on the number of matching rows in Table B. i.e SELECT * FROM TableA ORDER BY (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TableB where TableB.a_id = TableA.id) Thank you!
