  I've writing a Gnome window-switcher applet in PyGtk+ using menu items to represent the different applications running on the desktop. One thing I'd like to do is to activate the menu item under the cursor when I hover over the menubar. I can connect to the 'enter-notify-event' on the menu bar, but I don't know what to when it is triggered. So that's my question, how can I make the submenus of the menu bar open when I hover over their parent items?

• jquery document height reported incorrectly by IE (on XP) first time

  I'm having a "first time" problem with IE, which reports a different value for $(document).height(); when the page first loads versus subsequent queries. The difference is 17 pixels regardless of the opening size of the window -- on document ready, the height reported is 17 pixels larger than is subsequently reported. I wonder if this is an artifact of some aspect of my page (some margins or paddings somewhere), but so far can't account for 17 pixels.

• CTRL+mouse wheel in gvim (windows) not paging

  Hello, I'm loving vim, but one thing that's bugging me is that when I hold the control key and mouse wheel up or down, the window scrolls normally when the bindings are telling it to page up/down. I'm using the exact same vimrc file (and plugins) on one of my linux machines and the CTRL+mouse wheel does page up down (as opposed to just normally scrolling like in windows). Is there some way to force gvim to response to a ctrl+MouseUp/Down event? It seems to be ignoring it in windows ='[

  I've been looking all over for a simple example of how to have an action (or button) be triggered when the enter key is hit in the text field. Should I subclass the text field? Would I need to set a delegate to call the action I need? Is there a way to catch the event in my main window controller class?   I want to write an emacs function that does the following - 1) Start a new shell named "abc". 2) Change the dir "/opt/abc" 3) In the dir run a shell command "python abc.py" I have written the following fucntion - (defun abc-server () (interactive) (shell-command "cd /opt/abc/") (shell-command "python abc.py")) The problem with the above - 1) It doesnt start a new shell 2) It doesnt change the dir. 3) When the cmd executes, it opens a browser window, which completely blocks any usage of emacs.

  I have FrameworkElement, for example Grid, that has children(Cells, implemented in another control). When main Window changes size, i handle sizeChanged in Grid at first, and after that in some of its children. How can i get notify that all children sizeChanged events finished processing? Of course, i can raise other event in child sizeChanged and increase some counter, but for some reasons it is not the best decision. Can anyone recommend something? Thanks!

  This may be a silly question but I was under the impression that it was possible to use IronRuby and MS Visual Studio 2010 together to sort of build interfaces\edit XAML in one window and code ruby in the other? Is this only possible to do with C#, Basic and C++ ? • How can you track mouse input using the fewest libraries in c.

  I'm not sure where to look to find this information, but I'd like to know how to get mouse input (or any hid input) using the fewest non standard libraries in c. Basically, is there an stdio equivalent for mouse (and other input) input in c? Or is there a library that is minimal and cross compatible on multiple platforms. Just being able to print mouse coordinates to a terminal window would be enough.
