• c# getting value from other form

  Situation i have: textbox(to input your name) on form1. From that form1 on button click i go to form2. From form2 button click to form3. On form3 on button click i need to writte me in empty textbox value from textbox on form1 that user wrote down. example: on form1 in textbox1 i write my name "Djuzla". When i go to form3 and click button to see what name i wrote in form1 it should show in empty textbox3 form3 "Djuzla". I'm stuck with this few hours now, and it stupid problem but i have no idea what to do next.. tried all from zillion theards on net :p

• Locking a detail view if a user is editing the item...

  Hi All I am developing a user manager which must control access to the detail view of editable items. At present, when a user clicks 'edit', the application queries the link table to check if a user is currently editing that page, if not, it allows access to the page and then inserts a record into the link table preventing another user from editing the same page at the same time. My question is what would the best way to handle the removal of records if say a user exists the browser without saving etc, therefore no action to remove the record. I have a couple of ideas but would like other input before I decide. BenTheDesigner

• adding count( ) column on each row

  I'm not sure if this is even a good question or not. I have a complex query with lot's of unions that searches multiple tables for a certain keyword (user input). All tables in which there is searched are related to the table book. There is paging on the resultset using LIMIT, so there's always a maximum of 10 results that get withdrawn. I want an extra column in the resultset displaying the total amount of results found however. I do not want to do this using a seperate query. Is it possible to add a count() column to the resultset that counts every result found? the output would look like this: ID Title Author Count(...) 1 book_1 auth_1 23 2 book_2 auth_2 23 4 book_4 auth_.. 23 ... Thanks!

• Number guessing game (3+- guessed result)

  I've been assigned a task to create a game that generates 4 digits and the user has to guess the digits one at a time to get the correct result. If the number is correct a Y is displayed and if not, a N. This was easy, now the next step was to implement another two responses. If the answer is too high, a H is displayed and too low, an N. Again, was easy - now the third is to use the same design as game 2 but if the number is 3 higher than a H is displayed and same if it's 3 lower than a L is displayed - otherwise an X is displayed. I can't figure out how to do this. Here's my test code for game 2 for just one of the digits - any help is appreciated. • How do I open a terminal window with C++ in Ubuntu?

  I recently decided to start teaching myself C++ and thought a simple encryption project would be a good place to start, since it covers most of the basics (cout, cin, opening files, etc). Is there a way to have the code open a terminal window similar to the one opened when I compile and run from sublime text? I have tried this so far, but it hasn't changed anything. string cmd = "gnome-terminal-x sh-c 'ls-l; exec bash'"; system(cmd.c_str()); Essentially, I would like to be able to run the program by clicking the .exe, and have the terminal where all of the input and output goes pop up.

• .BAT Switches Parsing

  Erm.. I'm working with a switches parsing in BAT files, which goes like this: <commands> -a -b -x -y -z -u abc ...... The user may input a lot of switch, or none. So I used looped shift to make parsing infinite switches possible: :loop IF "%1"=="-a" ... SHIFT GOTO loop But when the script ends, I always get cmd executing the switches and showing up error like '-n' is not recognized as an internal... So, someone got any idea? Thanks a lot... P/S: Make solution sticks with BAT script if possible as using other language may cause dependencies problem as this script is aimed on ANY computer with Windows. Finally, thanks again =) EDIT: Tried shf301 suggestion, i found out that I used DEL %0 to delete itself but it seems the %0 is shifted into the arguments because of the SHIFT command.

  I have a form I am submitting via jquery ajax. Early in the form, I have this field: <select name="inquirymodule[]" id="inquirymodule"> The user can add as many as they like, and all the selects go into the inquirymodule[] array. It doesn't work, I cannot see why. Suggestions?

  Hi, I am developing a music mixing app in iphone. It'll mix the music and user can compose a new music from it. I need to record this final music. I had used AVAudiorecorder to record this one. But no change. It can record sound from microphone but I need to record app sound. I had used audio queue call back function to record the audio. But when app runs I can hear the audio from my app and I couldn't hear any sound from recorded audio. There is no problem with recording since I can hear the audio recorded through microphone. But I need an offline recorder which can record the audio output of iphone, rather than the audio input through microphone. I need a recorder which can record audio using ipod touch (no microphone). Any help?

  Hi All, I have a folder structure, as shown below: I need to create a bash script that does 4 things: It searches all the files in the generic directory and finds the string 'generic' and makes it into 'something' As above, but changes "GENERIC" to "SOMETHING" As above, but changes "Generic" to "Something" Renames any filename that has "generic" in it with "something" Right now I am doing this process manually by using the search and replace in net beans. I dont know much about bash scripting, but i'm sure this can be done. I'm thinking of something that I would run and it would take "Something" as the input. Where would I start? what functions should I use? overall guidance would be great. thanks. I am using Ubuntu 10.5 desktop edition.

• Create a (edit) hyperlink in front of dropdownbox with jQuery

  I have a table with some data. All data is contained in dropdownboxes and textbox. But it isn't easy to see, what is newly written input and what is data from the database. So I want to create a (edit) after these boxes, and replace the boxes with a literal where the contained value in the dropdownbox stands. When the edit-button is pushed the literal goes away and the dropdownbox appears instead, so it is possible to edit the data. This is all, the jQuery don't have to save the data to database, I have functionality to that in a save-button. I don't want to use any extra plugin to jQuery, because it seems to be a fairly simpel task. Any good ideas?

• Prevent keypress whilst shift key is held

  I'm trying to prevent certain keys from being entered into an input box, but only if that particular key is pressed whilst the shift key is held: $('selector').keydown(function(e) { console.log(e.shiftKey); if (e.shiftKey && e.which == 51) { e.preventDefault(); alert('Disallowed'); } }); The alert fires but the character still appears in the text box. If I remove e.shiftKey from the if statement and press the key (without shift held), the alert fires and the character does not appear in the text box. I've tried searching around for an explanation as to why this happens but to no avail, any help would be greatly appreciated! edit Removing the alert seems to fix the problem (which seems bizarre), I'd really love to know why it behaves in this way though, it doesn't seem to make any sense.   I want to run an exe file on my server and return the output to the browser screen. The exe file takes a input file and then returns data on the screen. Why is this code not working? $output = shell_exec('myprogram < INP.DAT'); echo "<pre>" . var_export($output, TRUE) ."</pre>\\n"; It displays "NULL" on the browser screen. I have also tried exec(). There it returns "Array()".
