I've abstracted the problem out here, and I'm hoping someone can help me understand how what I'm doing fails. I'm looping over a list of Items. These Items are actually instances of the subclasses TypeA and TypeB. For Type A, I want to display the options, for Type B I want to display the demands. When rendering the page for the first time, this works fine. However, when I post back to the page for some action, I get an error: [3/26/10 12:52:32:781 EST] 0000008c SystemErr R javax.faces.FacesException: Error getting property 'options' from bean of type TypeB at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.ApplyRequestValuesPhase.execute(ApplyRequestValuesPhase.java:89) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.phase(LifecycleImpl.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.execute(LifecycleImpl.java:91) at com.ibm.faces.portlet.FacesPortlet.processAction(FacesPortlet.java:193) My grasp on the JSF lifecyle is very rough. At this point, i understand there is an error in the ApplyRequestValues Phases which is very early and so the previous state is restored and nothing changes. What I don't understand is that in order to fufill the condition for rendering "item.typeA" that object has to be an instance of TypeA. But here, it looks like that object passed the condition even though it was an instance of TypeB. It is like it is evaluating the inner dataTable (InnerItems) before evaluating the outer (outerItems). My working assumption is that I just don't understand how/when the rendered attribute is actually evaluated.

  • Openlayers - LayerRedraw() / Feature rotation

    TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. As the 'styleMap' applies to the layer I think that I have to remove the layer and add it again rather than just the 'imageFeature' Layer: var tracking = new OpenLayers.Layer.GML("Tracking", "coordinates.json", { format: OpenLayers.Format.GeoJSON, styleMap: styleMap }); styleMap: var styleMap = new OpenLayers.StyleMap({ fillOpacity: 1, pointRadius: 10, rotation: heading, }); Now wrapped in a timed function the imageFeature: map.layers[3].addFeatures(new OpenLayers.Feature.Vector( new OpenLayers.Geometry.Point(longitude, latitude), {rotation: heading, type: parseInt(Math.random() * 3)} )); Type refers to a lookup of 1 of 3 images.: styleMap.addUniqueValueRules("default", "type", lookup); var lookup = { 0: {externalGraphic: "Image1.png", rotation: heading}, 1: {externalGraphic: "Image2.png", rotation: heading}, 2: {externalGraphic: "Image3.png", rotation: heading} } I have tried the 'redraw()' function: but it returns "tracking is undefined" or "map.layers[2]" is undefined. tracking.redraw(true); map.layers[2].redraw(true); Heading is a variable: from a JSON feed. var heading = 13.542; But so far can't get anything to work it will only rotate the image onload. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? Thanks in advance -Ozaki Add: I managed to get map.layers[2].redraw(true); to sucessfully redraw layer 2. But it still does not update the rotation. I am thinking because the stylemap is updating. But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug.

    I remember seeing a question on my official MS 70-536 exam that talked about a simple class that was designed to be exposed for COM calling clients and etc. of all the members defined in the classes I chose the answer D. The one that used a generic. My question to you guys is this: If you were designing a .net custom type that was to be eventually consumed by a com caller or a com type .... of all the guidelines I have read on this subject. Generics is the one .Net topic I would not include in a class for this purpose I would omit such a data member or use something else? Am I right in thinking this. As soon as I saw this question I knew it was generics but I can't seem to prove it. Surely I did not make this up ... generics is a .net feature right?

  • Classic ASP Site Throwing Date Conversion Error After Moving Servers?

    I am moving an old store from a Win2003 IIS6 server to a Win2008 IIS7 server, moved everything across including database. The front end seems to work just fine, but when I login it has to do pull in data based on date ranges and now from no where I am getting this error? The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value Any ideas why this would do this on the new server and NOT on the old one? No code has changed and the DB is a backup of the one from the old server??

I have a JS array that looks a little something like this: var suggestions = ["value1", "value2", "value3"]; Using jQuery, I did this: $("#search-input").attr("data-source", suggestions); Desired output: <input type='search' data-source='["value1", "value2", "value3"]' /> Actual output: <input type='search' data-source='value1, value2, value3' /> This breaks the autocomplete as it requires an array (or at least something that looks like a JavaScript array).

This could be as simple as elems = tree.findall('link[@rel="stylesheet"]') + tree.findall('style') But the problem with CSS style definitions is that the order matters, e.g. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/first.css" /> <style>body:{font-size: 10px;}</style> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/second.css" /> if the contents of the style tag is applied after the rules in the two link tags, the result may be completely different from the one where the rules are applied in order of definition. So, how would I do a lookup that inlcudes both link[@rel="stylesheet"] and style?

    I have a basic XML object that I'm working with. I can't figure out how to access the parts of it.   • jquery refresh php loop?

    Hi, I have a page in which users can make "posts" its similar to facebook, I am trying to figure out how I can get it to run the php loop say every 10mins, in order for the person to see new posts. Everytime a post is made it is added into the db and then the page is refreshed, I want to do it more "facebook like".     Suppose you have two sets of conceptual entities: MarketPriceDataSet which has multiple ForwardPriceEntries PoolPriceForecastDataSet which has multiple PoolPriceForecastEntry Both different child objects have near identical fields: ForwardPriceEntry has MarketPriceDataSetId (foreign key to parent table) StartDate EndDate SimulationItemId ForwardPrice PoolPriceForecastEntry has PoolPriceForecastDataSetId (foreign key to parent table) StartDate EndDate SimulationItemId ForecastPoolPrice If I modelled them as separate tables, the only difference would be the foreign key, and the name of the price field. There has been a debate as to whether the two near identical tables should be merged into one. Options I've thought of to model this is: Just keep them as two independent, separate tables Have both sets in the one table with an additional "type" field, and a parent_id equalling a foreign key to either parent table. This would sacrifice referential integrity checks. Have both sets in the one table with an additional "type" field, and create a complicated sequence of joining tables to maintain referential integrity. What do you think I should do, and why?

  • Problem evaluating NULL in an IIF statement (Access)

    Item in the recordset rstImportData("Flat Size") is = Null With that, given the following statement: IIF(IsNull(rstImportData("Flat Size")), Null, cstr(rstImportData("Flat Size"))) Result: Throws error 94: Invalid use of Null If I change the statement by removing the type conversion upon a false comparison: IIF(IsNull(rstImportData("Flat Size")), Null, 0) Result: Null It returns Null as it should have the first time. It appears that I cannot do a type conversion in an IIF if the value passed in should ever be null even if it passes an IIF test, it still attempts to evaluate it at both the true and false answer. The only reason I'm using IIF like this is because I have a 25 line comparison to compare data from an Import against a matching record in a database to see if I need to append the prior to history. Any thoughts? The way data is imported there will be null dates and where the spreadsheet import is in a string format I must convert either side to the other to compare the values properly but if either side is null this exception occurs :(

    I wrote few custom view helpers but I have a little trouble using them. '/css/reset.css'); $this->view->addHelperPath('My/View/Helper', 'My_View_Helper'); } Then the view helpers don't work. Why is that? It's too troublesome to add the path in every controller action.   • Microsoft Word Document Controls not accepting carriage returns

    So, I have a Microsoft Word 2007 Document with several Plain Text Format (I have tried Rich Text Format as well) controls which accept input via XML. For carriage returns, I had the string being passed through XML containing "\r\n" when I wanted a carriage return, but the word document ignored that and just kept wrapping things on the same line. I also tried replacing the \r\n with System.Environment.NewLine in my C# mapper, but that just put in \r\n anyway, which still didn't work. Note also that on the control itself I have set it to "Allow Carriage Returns (Multiple Paragrpahs)" in the control properties.     Suppose I have following SP to run a dynamic sql ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[MySP] AS BEGIN declare @sql varchar(4000) select @sql = 'select cnt = count(*) from Mytable ..... '; exec (@sql) END then in edmx, I add the sp and import function for this sp. the return type is scalars int32. then I want to use this function in code like: int? result = context.MySP(); I got error said "cannot implicitly convert type System.Data.Objects.ObjectResults to int?" If use var result = context.MySP(); then Single() cann't be applied to context.MySP(). How to get the result for this case?

  • printing uid of a file on linux system

    i am learning c programming. I am trying to make my own program similar to ls command but with less options.what i am doing is taking input directory/file name as argument and then gets all directory entry with dirent struct(if it is directory) . After it i use stat() to take all information of the file but here is my problem when i use write() to print these value its fine but when i want to print these with printf() i get warninng : format ‘%ld’ expects type ‘long int’, but argument 2 has type ‘__uid_t’. I don't know what should use at place of %ld and also for other special data types.

  • pgp key information

    can someone show a description of the information of what a pgp looks like if only the descriptions were there but not the actual information? something like (i dont remember if the values are correct): packet-type[4 bits], total length in bytes[16 bits], packet version type [4 bits], creation-time[32 bits], encryption-algorithm[8 bits], ...,etc,etc ive tried to understand rfc4880, but its tedious and confusing. so far, i am think i have extracted the 4 i wrote above, but i cant seem to get the rest of the information out. can anyone help? i know i can just find some pgp program, but the whole point of this is to allow me to learn how those programs work in the first place
