• Perf4J Graph Output from Log File

  I currently have a long running process that I am trying to analyze with Perf4J. I currently have it writing results in CSV format to its own log file using the AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender and a StatisticsCsvLayout on the file appender. My question is; when I try and use the --graph option from the command line (using the perf4j jar) it isn't populating the data points- it isn't populating anything. Are my appenders set incorrectly?   I have WPF application and a window in it. Lets have something like this in my xml: <Label Name="TitleLabel" Content="Some title" \> <Label Name="BottomLabel" Content="{Binding ElementName=TitleLabel Path=Content"> Lets say I don't cannot use xml for creation of BottomLabel and TitleLabel. So I have to create the BottomLabel as a property in my "Code behind". How do I specify the same binding for Content property of Bottom label in my code behind ? Is it possible at all ? So I would have something like this: public Label TitleLabel {get; private set;} public Label BottomLabel {get; private set;} public MyClass(){ TitleLabel = new Label(); TitleLabel.Content = "Some title"; BottomLabel = new Label(); BottomLabel.Content = // ?? what should be here ? It just adds http://example.com/index.html#ui-tabs-[object Object] to the url. I am developing a wordpress plugin and the admin page needs a tab interface. I tested this in a local server and not working update: i don't want to load google.com inside the page. It should open the webpage in new tab/window like ordinary links do.

• How to more effectively debug PHP code in the vein JavaScript with Firebug or XCode?

  Hi everyone, I'm kind of a newbie with PHP so please bear with me. I would like to know if there was an effective way of debugging PHP code so that I don't have to have debugging messages display on the browser. For example, I find var_dump and print_r functions to be excellent for debugging variables, function calls and arrays respectively. The problem is I have been asked to debug code on a live site (no dev site, I know it is a horrible practice but this is not my project from the start.) So I would like to know what core function or php library or whatever else it is that I could use to log debugging calls in to log that I can check so I don't have to send debugging calls to the browser on a live site? I like the way you can use the console.log function in JavaScript code and check it in Firebug or the Webkit Console and I also like like the console window in Xcode and I was wondering if there was some similar tool for PHP debugging. Any extra info and pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, racl101.

• log4js ConsoleAppender initialization

  I'm wondering if anyone happens to have some experience using Log4js? It seems its normal ConsoleAppender isn't always ready to use immediately after it's added to a logger object... If I have two sequential script tags in a document like: //Initialize logger <script type="text/javascript"> var logger = new Log4js.getLogger("JSLOG"); logger.addAppender(new Log4js.ConsoleAppender(logger, false)); logger.setLevel(Log4js.Level.INFO); </script> //Use logger <script type="text/javascript"> logger.info('Test test'); </script> ... It causes the console pop-up (pop-up window) to appear with an error message on page load: 12:58:23 PM WARN Log4js - Could not run the listener function () { return fn.apply(object, arguments); }. TypeError: this.outputElement is null The console is still initialised, it's there afterward, but for just that first logger call it doesn't seem to be there fully. If I make the first logger call setTimeout("logger.info('test test')", 1000), it doesn't have the error. So it's like it's not ready immediately. Anyone see this before or know what a workaround might be? Cheers

• Returned JSON from Twitter and displaying tweets using FlexSlider

  After sending a request to the Twitter API using geocode, I'm getting back a json response with a list of tweets. I then that into a php array using json_decode() and use a foreach loop to output what I need. I'm using flex slider to show the tweets in a vertical fashion after wrapping them in a list. So what I want is for it to only show 10 tweets at a time and scroll through them infinitely like an escalator. • How can I catch an invalid fgetpos call as a C++ exception on Windows?

  In Visual C++ 2008, I want to "catch" an exception generated as shown here: try { int foo = 20; ::fgetpos(0, (fpos_t*)&foo); } //... Here are adjustments I've made to attempt a successful catch: SEH is activated (/eha) I've added a catch(...) I've added a _set_se_translator vector. I've added/adjusted to SEH syntax: __try / __except(EXCEPTION_EXECUTE_HANDLER) In short, I've tried "everything in the book" and I still can't catch the exception. If I replace the call to ::fgetpos with int hey = foo / 0 then suddenly all of the above techniques work as expected. So the exception I'm dealing with from ::fgetpos is somehow "extra special." Can someone explain why this ::fgetpos error seems uncatchable, and how to work around it? update When executed in the VS IDE, the output window doesn't name an exception. All it says is this: Microsoft Visual Studio C Runtime Library has detected a fatal error in MyProgram.exe. Not very helpful. When I run the console app from the command line, I get a crash dialogue. I can insert the "noScript" code that reCaptcha gives us, but it doesn't work either, because it can spot that the browser allow javascript but I use noScript. Any suggestions? (I know I put my public reCaptcha key into the code, but it is just for testing purposes, and you could get it from my html or javascript code anyway)

• Log off from Remote Desktop Session does not closing Session, showing the login screen again on Wind

  Hi As per requirement we have written one custom GINA. I have observed one interesting behavior in Windows XP 32 Bit(SP2). Customized GINA internally calls windows default Windows GINA(msgina.dll) and shows one extra window as per our requirement. I used to do remote desktop to XP machine from my machine. After replacing Windows GINA with customized GINA I tried to log off from the XP Machine(I am Using Remote Desktop Connection to log in), Log off completes successfully(After showing saving your settings, Closing network connections etc) and I will get log in screen which we get during log on, this is not expected comapred to other flavors of Windows OD. Where as in other operating systems such as Windows XP 64 Bit/ Windows 2003 32/64 Bit even after replacing the Windows Gina with custom GINA remote desktop session closes after log off from the machine. I have tried installing Novell GINA on Windows XP 32 Bit but i have not find any issue with that. I have Tried upgrading XP SP2 to SP3, still i am facing the same issue. • How to do a javascript redirection to a ClickOnce deployment URL?

  I have a ClickOnce application used to view some documents on a website. When connected, the user sees a list of documents as links to http://server/myapp.application?document=docname. It worked fine until I had to integrate the website authentication/security system into my application. The website uses a ticketing system to grant access to its users. A ticket is generated by a web application and needs to be added to the deployment URL querystring, then I have to check at application startup that the ticket given in querystring was right by making another request to the web application. So the deployment URL becomes something like: h ttp://server/myapp.application?document=docname&ticket=ticketnumber. The problem is the ticket is valid only 10 seconds, so I have to get it only after the user has clicked a link. My first try was to have some javascript do the request to get the ticket, generate the proper deployment URL and then redirect the user to this URL with "window.location = deploymentUrl;". It works fine in Firefox, but IE does not prompt the user for installation. I guess it is a ClickOnce security constraints, but I am able to do the redirection when doing it on localhost, so I hope there is a workaround. I have also added the server on the "trusted sites" list in IE options. Is it possible to have that working in IE? What are my other options to do that?

• iPod touch debugging: Error on install/run only if app exists on device already?

  Hi all, I am using an iPod to test an app. The device is all set up with the right provisioning profiles, etc-- that's not really the issue. But every time I start the app from Xcode on the device, I get the "A signed resource has been added, modified, or deleted." error from the Organizer window. Wait, I know, you think it's a provisioning profile problem. But here's the kicker: if I just delete the app from the iPod (using the main screen) and try again, it works fine. I only get this error when the app is already installed. The other kicker is that this behavior doesn't happen on an iPhone that I have for occasional testing-- on that device, I can start/restart/restart indefinitely. But using the iPod, my compile-run-test cycle is annoyingly slow since I have to manually delete the app each time. Any ideas? I'm using Xcode 3.2.2 (prerelease) FWIW. The iPod has stock OS 3.1.2 on it. Thanks!

• How can I print a web page on a server?

  Suppose I develop a web page using the cool Google visualization API, and it does everything the user wants. They can the parameters, look at the graphs, and print the page to get a reasonable-looking report. All good. Now suppose I want to do the same thing server-side. For example, say we need a set of report generated at a specific time of day, printed to a PDF and emailed to a manager. It's not a user-initiated action, so we don't have a user's browser or their printer. We have a URL that would render the report if we had a browser, and that's it. Is there a good way to do this server-side? Is this just foolish? Has anyone done anything like that before? Do any of the major browsers have APIs that might provide such functionality? Keep in mind too that it's not just static HTML; probably javascript will be running first to shift the DOM around. I know we could implement a whole different reporting engine on the server side to do this, but that will (a) generate reports that look a bit different, and (b) require me to build/maintain two sets of functionality. Instead, I'd be happy if I could just render the page / pages I want in an invisible server-side browser and print it to a PDF (let's mostly ignore that step - I know any number of PDF printer drivers that could do this). I don't really want to do it ugly either - i.e. by starting a browser process and then sending keystrokes directly to the window either - that's just bound to fall apart with a slight nudge. The only related question I found had an answer like that. Any advice appreciated!

  I'm selecting table data of the current user: SELECT [ConfidenceLevel], [LoveLevel], [HappinessLevel] FROM [UserData] WHERE ([UserProfileID] = @UserProfileID) I have set a control to the unique user ID and it is getting the correct value: HTML: <asp:Label ID="userID" runat="server" Text="Labeluser"></asp:Label> C#: userID.Text = Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey.ToString(); I then use it in the where clause using the Configure Data Source window unique ID = control then controlID userID (fills in .text for me) I compile and run but nothing shows up where the table should be. Any suggestions? Here's the situation: I am building a slideshow gallery of images. I want the images to be displayed as large as the user's window allows. So I have this outer placeholder: <section class="photo full"> (Yes, I'm using HTML5 elements). Which has the following CSS: section.photo.full { display:inline-block; width:100%; height:100%; position:absolute; overflow:hidden; text-align:center; } Next, the image is placed inside it. The horizontal centering of the image works, yet I cannot seem to find a way to vertically center the image within it's container. I have researched centering methods but most assume either the container or image has a known width or height. Then there is the display:table-cell method, which does not seem to work for me either. I'm stuck. I'm looking for a CSS solution, but am open to js solutions too.

However, when a user searches UNIX, the engine must choose: word or operating_system. Also, when a user searches windows (small letter 'w'), the engine chooses word, but should also show Assuming 'windows' is a word. Use as an <a href="etc..">operating system</a> instead. Can anyone point me in the right direction with parsing and choosing the topic of the search query? Thanks. Note: it doesn't need to be able to perform calculations as WA can do.

• Make PasswordRecovery control work with locked out users ?

  Example scenario in an ASP.NET application using SQL Server membership provider : 1) a user can't remember their exact password, and tries many times in a short space of time to login with an invalid password (say 5 times in a 10 minute window). This locks out the user (i.e. sets the IsLockedOut flag of the aspnet_Membership table to 1). 2) user goes to the "forgot my password" screen to try to get a new password emailed to them. This screen uses the PasswordRecovery control. User enters their correct user id, but then cannot go further in the password recovery process, since the IsLockedOut flag is 1. (They don't even get to see their security question). 3) The user would then have to phone tech support to get themselves unlocked etc. To reduce the burden on support staff, we are trying to eliminate step 3) if possible, by making the PasswordRecovery control (if possible), work with locked out users. i.e. when they enter their login ID, the security question comes up, and IF they enter the correct answer, the system will unlock the user, then send the new email to them. I'm wondering if it is possible to tweak the PasswordRecovery control to do this. Or maybe I'm approaching this the wrong way ?

  Is there any cross browser way to scroll the horizontal scroll bar of an IFrame with super wide content with Javascript inside the parent frame. Also I need it to be attached to the mouse wheel event. • Form not updating usercontrol

  From the post "Growing user control not updating"... Using C#, .Net 2.0 in a Windows environment. UserControl1 - draws cells to a bitmap buffer dependent upon NumberOfCells property UserControl2 - panel contains UserControl1 which displays vertical scroll when necessary; also contains NumberOfCells which sets UserControl1's NumberOfCells. Formf1 - contains NumericUpDown controls (just increments) which updates the UserControl2 - suppose to! When I increment the control on the form by say 20, UserControl1 adds the necessary cells, UserControl2 displays the vertical scroll bar accordingly, BUT the form does not 'redraw' to the updated/correct image!! Meaning, after I increment by 20, cells are added, vertical scrool bar added... but the image shown is just everything else expanding. I reset the control to scoll to the very TOP and the scrolling works, but the image is still staic... UNTIL I resize my form, more specifically, when I change it from maximize to window or vice versa!!! What can I do to 'reset/redraw' the correct image???? Thank you in advance. Lawrence

• How do i close the alert dialog that displays custom view

  I have an activity named MainActivity which has a button. On click of that button i am displaying an AlertDialog which contains a custom view named ChildWindow.xml. That custom view has multiple textboxes and a OK button. On click of the OK button, i am calling a method of MainActivity. I am able to access the ChildWindow here as view.getRootView().findViewById(R.id.txtFirstName); Once the user clicks on the OK button, i have to close the alert dialog which i am able to do as view.getRootView().setVisibility(View.GONE); My problem is even though i have closed the the ChildWindow in the above statement, i am able to get reference to the textbox in the next line which means AlertDialog is closed but child window is still there. This is how the OK button click looks like: This works as expected: EditText tb = (EditText) view.getRootView().findViewById(R.id.txtFirstName); Toast toast = Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), tb.getText(), Toast.LENGTH_LONG); toast.show(); view.getRootView().setVisibility(View.GONE); This should not work as i am closing the alert dialog and then getting the reference of the textbox but this works too. view.getRootView().setVisibility(View.GONE); EditText tb = (EditText) view.getRootView().findViewById(R.id.txtFirstName); Toast toast = Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), tb.getText(), Toast.LENGTH_LONG); toast.show(); I think i am closing the alert dialog but i am not destroying it from the memory. Can someone point me out what am i missing here?
