  I want to be able to take the user to the requested page after login, but this does not happen with sfGuard. ** My Register action requires SignIn ;) ** On the listing page [http://cim/frontend_dev.php/] - user clicks the 'Register' link [@register = register/index] - user is taken to 'Signin' page provided by sfGuard - after sign-in, user is taken back to the Listing page (instead of Register) This is quite annoying! But logical, because the referrer is the listing page. How can I change logic to make @register the referrer? • WPF Blurry Images - Bitmap Class

  I am using the following sample at http://blogs.msdn.com/dwayneneed/archive/2007/10/05/blurry-bitmaps.aspx within VB.NET. The code is shown below. I am having a problem when my application loads the CPU is pegging 50-70%. I have determined that the problem is with the Bitmap class. The OnLayoutUpdated() method is calling the InvalidateVisual() continously. This is because some points are not returning as equal but rather, Point(0.0,-0.5) Can anyone see any bugs within this code or know a better implmentation for pixel snapping a Bitmap image so it is not blurry? p.s. The sample code was in C#, however I believe that it was converted correctly. • iPad Web App: Detect Virtual Keyboard Using JavaScript in Safari?

  I'm writing a web app for the iPad (not a regular App Store app - it's written using HTML, CSS and JavaScript). Since the keyboard fills up a huge part of the screen, it would make sense to change the app's layout to fit the remaining space when the keyboard is shown. However, I have found no way to detect when or whether the keyboard is shown. My first idea was to assume that the keyboard is visible when a text field has focus. However, when an external keyboard is attached to an iPad, the virtual keyboard does not show up when a text field receives focus. In my experiments, the keyboard also did not affect the height or scrollheight of any of the DOM elements, and I have found no proprietary events or properties which indicate whether the keyboard is visible.

  Hello, I'm making a 2D game for Android and I've encountered the following problem: - I have made a class that extends SurfaceView and draws my graphics (the size of the canvas that I use has to be 1664x864). This is ofcourse too big for the screen so I needed scrolling, I chose to use google's ScrollView and HorizontalScrollView (nested) for this, But whenever I add my SurfaceView to a ScrollView (whether it's 1 or 2) via AddChild it only draws the ScrollView , SurfaceCreated() isn't even called on the SurfaceView. (Drawing the SurfaceView in a layout without adding it to a ScrollView does work.) I realize that there are other options for scrolling like a screen-sized canvas and bitmap offsets but this would really be my preferred way to go. I would really appreciate some help to make this work.

• Creating a "crossover" function for a genetic algorithm to improve network paths

  Hi, I'm trying to develop a genetic algorithm that will find the most efficient way to connect a given number of nodes at specified locations. All the nodes on the network must be able to connect to the server node and there must be no cycles within the network. It's basically a tree. I have a function that can measure the "fitness" of any given network layout. What's stopping me is that I can't think of a crossover function that would take 2 network structures (parents) and somehow mix them to create offspring that would meet the above conditions. Any ideas? Clarification: The nodes each have a fixed x,y coordiante position. Only the routes between them can be altered.

  I have an (non-virtualized) ItemsControl that binds its ItemsSource to a ObeservableCollection of ViewModel instances. Now once the large amount Model instances is loaded all the ViewModel complemnents needs to be added to that ObservableCollection. How can I add a large amount of ViewModels without making the UI Thread hang? I suppose the UI Thread hangs because each time a new item is added the ItemsControl needs to update itself and does layout etc. over and over again. Should I suspend the binding add all items and then resume? If so, how? Should I override the ObservableCollection to implement an AddRange so only 1 CollectionChanged Event is fired for adding multiple items? Or alternatively just replace the whole collection? Or is it better to add each items separately and call Dispatcher.Invoke for each item separately? So I would unblock frequently. How do you handle large dynamic lists that can not be virtualized?

• VMware Converter errors when creating Boot Camp VM

  I just got a new computer. My old computer had a Boot Camp installation of Windows 7, with VMWare running the Boot Camp installation in a virtual machine. On my new computer, I want Windows to strictly be a VM, so I downloaded the VMWare Converter software to create a virtual machine out of the Boot Camp partition. After finishing 95% of the converting process, I get a few messages Warning: Failed while updating boot.ini on the target machine's system volume. Warning: Failed while updating drive letters for the target volume layout. Error: Reconfiguration failed. And then it fails with FAILED: Unable to find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible. I'm not sure what the problem is or how to fix it...I don't know much about virtualization or dual booting other than the simple instructions on how to set it up the first time.

  I use the "Label" attribute in Telerik quite frequently. I like it because it helps me consistently structure tables. I would like to continue with the above layout/structure, but in some cases I have tables that simply dump output (ie no user input). To be consistent, I need a RadLabel, which takes an input of "Label" and "Text", and then aligns them appropriately in the overall table format. Is there such a thing?

  I'm having an issue with the RadEditor for MOSS, I'm really baffled as to the source of this issue. I tried using Firebug to find where any min-* CSS settings are happening and search came up empty, but I know it's happening because the downloaded page markup does not have that inline CSS. I believe that one of the Telerik control emitted Javascripts is what is adding inline CSS style to the top level div of the editor, namely min-height, min-width. This is causing layout issues on my page. • Gridpanel auto resize on window resize

  I'm using the array-grid extjs example to try and fit a gridpanel into a container window. The problem is on resizing the container window, the gridpanel doesn't automatically fit the new size. As I understand it that's how it's supposed to work.   I am attempting to add highslide-with-html.js from http://highslide.com/ to my masterpage. I am receiving a 403 forbidden error when I use the provided masterpage. I have placed it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033. Test javascript files such as pirate.js which consists solely of alert("Arr!"); have loaded from the same directory. I have provided the code for the masterpage. Thank you ;) I have this little "application", and I want when someone type in a AutoComplete textbox for example "New" it automatically displays "New York" as a option and that (AutoComplete function) works fine. But I want when user type in full location (or AutoComplete do it for him) - that text (location) input is forwarded to a database search which then searches through database and "collects" all rows with user-typed location. • How do I add additional data to a DataGridRowGroupHeader?

  I have a DataGrid that is showing some data via a PagedCollectionView with one group definition. I have created a Style for the corresponding DataGridRowGroupHeader under which I have added a ControlTemplate containing an additional TextBlock and a spacing Rectangle. I would like to bind the widths of these controls to the widths of particular columns, but I am struggling to get this working. I would also like to bind the Text property of the TextBlock to a value. I tried binding the widths via the Width property of a Rectangle in resources but this didn't work (possibly because the Rectangle was never drawn and therefore didn't calculate it's layout). However, I believe both sets of bindings can be performed with some use of one or more ValueConverter implementations, but I was wondering if there was a better way. Can any of this be achieved through the definition of a ControlTemplate?

• Horizontal UITableView

  I want implement a layout in my ipad application that has a uitable view that scrolls left and right rather then up and down : So rather than row 1 row 2 row 3 ( scrolling vertically ) It would be : row 1, row2, row 3 (scrolling horizontally ) I've seen that UItableView is designed to only do vertical scrolling so doing a transform does not give the desired effect. Is there a standard way to do this taking advantage of a datasource provider like uitableview provides? I basically want to do somthing similar to what the BBC News reader app ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bbc-news/id364147881?mt=8 ) on the Ipad does with the list of stories to select from. Thanks

• How do I base a style on a Silverlight toolkit theme style

  I've being trying to add a theme from the Silverlight toolkit to a project. In the project there are a number of existing styles used in the layout. The problem is when any control has an explict style applied to it does not receive any attributes of the style from the theme. In WPF I would use something like BasedOn={x:Type TextBox}, but this is not supported in Silverlight. I've considered going through the theme and setting a key for every style and then using BasedOn to create both an implicit style to use with the ImplictStyleManager, as well as another explicit style for use with the existing styled controls. Have you got any better ideas?

  I can't seem to control the dialog width. How do I make the dialog width fill the screen?

• How to set the mechanize page encoding?

  Hi, I'm trying to get a page with an ISO-8859-1 encoding clicking on a link, so the code is similar to this: page_result = page.link_with( :text => 'link_text' ).click So far I get the result with a wrong encoding, so I see characters like: 'T?tulo:' instead of 'Título:' I've tried several approaches, including: Stating the encoding in the first request using the agent like: @page_search = @agent.get( :url => 'http://www.server.com', :headers => { 'Accept-Charset' => 'ISO-8859-1' } ) Stating the encoding for the page itself page_result.encoding = 'ISO-8859-1' But I must be doing something wrong: a simple puts always show the wrong characters. Do you know how to state the encoding? • ItemsControl.ItemsSource MVVM perormance

  I have an (non-virtualized) ItemsControl that binds its ItemsSource to a ObeservableCollection of ViewModel instances. Now once the large amount Model instances is loaded all the ViewModel complemnents needs to be added to that ObservableCollection. How can I add a large amount of ViewModels without making the UI Thread hang? I suppose the UI Thread hangs because each time a new item is added the ItemsControl needs to update itself and does layout etc. over and over again. Should I suspend the binding add all items and then resume? If so, how? Should I override the ObservableCollection to implement an AddRange so only 1 CollectionChanged Event is fired for adding multiple items? Or alternatively just replace the whole collection? Or is it better to add each items separately and call Dispatcher.Invoke for each item separately? So I would unblock frequently. How do you handle large dynamic lists that can not be virtualized?
