• Upload image with Photoshop scripting

  Is that possible to upload an image from Photoshop (for example, an open image exported to jpeg) to some web place - REST service, FTP etc by using scripting features of Photoshop? For example - I have an image open in Photoshop and then execute some special script that sends an exported version of it to some place over the web. I saw something like this but it uses an automatically generated batch file that executes ftp command on Windows. I would like to use something more beautiful if it's possible. Or may be there are some info to know how to make a simple plugin for just this task. Thanks.

• Opening a text file in browser - error on server

  I'm trying to open a text file in my browser, when doing it from my local machine it works perfectly but when I upload my files to my web server the link to the text file no longer works and I get a broken link error from the browser. • How can I redirect the output of Perl's system() to a filehandle?

  With the open command in Perl, you can use a filehandle. However I have trouble getting back the exit code with the open command in Perl. With the system command in Perl, I can get back the exit code of the program I'm running. However I want to just redirect the STDOUT to some filehandle (no stderr). My stdout is going to be a line-by-line output of key-value pairs that I want to insert into a mao in perl. That is why I want to redirect only my stdout from my Java program in perl. Is that possible? Note: If I get errors, the errors get printed to stderr. One possibility is to check if anything gets printed to stderr so that I can quite the Perl script.

• Dreamweaver - template not recognising child files until they are opened

  Hi I've got a new section for a website which I have generated for a data source and it has markup for using a Dreamweaver template. When I add the new files and folders to the site , then update my template , it doesn't find the new files to update. If I open one of the new files , make a change in the template , then it recognises the new file is using the template. So it's almost like I have to touch all the files with Dreamweaver first. I've tried to open all the new files which need to use the template but then Dreamweaver CS4 crashes, I presume because of the number of files it's opening. Anyway, does anyone know if there is a way to make Dreamweaver recognise that a block of new files belong to the template , it doesn't seem to just work automatically Thanks Chris

• Ctrl+Click / Command+Click not working with analytics

  Hi All, I created my own analytics for my site to track outbound click events using jquery. Now the thing with preventDefault() is that it does not allow for the Ctrl+Click or COmmand+click operation in the browser to open the link in new tab/window. So my solution was to detect e.metaKey || e.ctrlKey and use window.open. This does not work very great with safari unless the user changes browser behavior. I am wondering if anyone here knows what other analytics users do - like how does google etc deal with this problem in tracking outbound links?   How do I view directories that begin with dot and how do I browse application directories in Netbeans? I can't seem to view directories that begin with a "dot" through the open file dialog in Netbeans. Similarly, I can't browse any application directory e.g. File-Open File-"someapp.app". Attempting to browse "someapp.app" gives the error "someapp.app is a directory". Altering or removing the regex under Preferences-Miscellaneous-File-Ignored Files Pattern has no effect; directories that begin with dot stay invisible. I'm on OSX 10.5.8 and I've tried to get this working on netbeans 6.5-6.8 to no avail. I posted this to the on the netbeans irc and mailing list but haven't heard anything back. Any help would be appreciated!

• Exception while opening file

  Hi I have a VC++ application and in my application i have some basic file operations. Below is the defaulting code CStdioFile cFile; CFileException e; CString sReport; CString sHtmlfile = "testreport.html" OutputDebugString((sHtmlfile)); if (!cFile.Open(sHtmlfile,CFile::modeCreate | CFile::modeWrite, &e )) { } The problem is my application executes this piece of code every few minutes. and it works fine. After several runs of the code the cFile.Open() function fails. I tried to get the error message TCHAR szError[1024]; e.GetErrorMessage(szError,1024); OutputDebugString((szError)); The irony is the szError error message is "No error occured". This again works once i restart my application. Any idea why this occurs. Thanks in advance.

  I'm trying to configure ftp over amazon EC2 instance, I've installed vsftpd and did the steps of adding user and modifying the vsftpd.conf file, but I'm getting my service status as ubuntu@ip-10-38-106-212:~$ sudo service vsftpd status vsftpd stop/waiting I've tried to reinstall vsftpd but still getting the same, I've also added the port 20 and 21 in my security group policy to skip the firewall. Can anyone tell me how to check whats wrong with this vsftpd, why its stopped and not coming into running state. Thank u

• WPF Standard Commands - Where's Exit?

  I'm creating a standard menu in my WPF application. I know that I can create custom commands, but I know there are also a bunch of standard commands to bind to. For example, to open a file I should bind to ApplicationCommands.Open, to close a file I should bind to ApplicationCommands.Close. There's also a large number of EditCommands, ComponentCommands or NavigationCommands. There doesn't seem to be an "Exit" command. I would have expected there to be ApplicationCommands.Exit. What should I bind to the "Exit" menu item? To create a custom command for something this generic just seems wrong.

• Using one sqlconnection/sqlcommand through 2 DB-bound methods

  I have a class with a method which gets data from a database through a SELECT stored proc. This method uses a SqlDbReader by returning ExecuteReader() on a SqlCommand. The connection and everything is made in this method, with fields (such as connection string) set as class level fields. I now need to populate an array based on the results of this query (so the columns of each row will go into the array with its own index). However, this query will not select all of the data from one table which is involved. I can write the queries to get what I need, but how can I use one connection throughout the class? If I instantiate the connection object and call Open() in the constructor, I get an exception @ runtime. I'm hoping for something like this: // At class level: sqlconn.Open(); // sqlcommand set up Method() { // Fire stored proc // Insert results in a collection } Method2() { // Pass same collection in (use same one), // Add new row columns into same collection } How can I do this with strict performance in mind? • How to install JMX Service?

  Hi, I am working on a device that installs an embedded linux system. I want to remote monitor the application running on that device using JConsole. However, when I set the property for JMX Agent like -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=8010, the system produced an error "the file management.properties does not exist". It seems that the Java installed on this embedded linux system does not include the JMX service yet. Anyone has some ideas that how can I install JMX service on such system, please? Thanks

• perl split on empty file

  I have basically the following perl I'm working with: open I,$coupon_file or die "Error: File $coupon_file will not Open: $! \n"; while (<I>) { $lctr++; chomp; my @line = split/,/; if (!@line) { print E "Error: $coupon_file is empty!\n\n"; $processFile = 0; last; } } I'm having trouble determining what the split/,/ function is returning if an empty file is given to it. The code block if (!@line) is never being executed. If I change that to be if (@line) than the code block is executed. I've read information on the perl split function over at http://perldoc.perl.org/functions/split.html and the discussion here about testing for an empty array but not sure what is going on here. I am new to Perl so am probably missing something straightforward here. Thanks.

  i have this function where basically add and remove the disabled attribute form a input field: $(bla).click(function(){ if (something) { console.log($target.prev("input")) // gives out the right object $target.toggleClass("open").prev("input").attr("disabled", "disabled"); }else{ $target.toggleClass("open").prev("input").removeAttr("disabled"); //this works } }) the removeAttr works fine but when i need to add the disabled again it does just nothing. My console.log is triggering (and giving me back the right input field) so I'm sure my that my if statement works. But if i inspect the DOM with firebug the disabled attribute does not appear. can someone help me? PS: please don't focus on the function or the if statement itself, works fine its just that attr that dies not work for disabled...

  Basically I want to create the effect of that provided in the system's menu bar. A user presses on one of the menu headings, and as he moves across the different headings, the menus open up automatically. The snag is that if I open a pop-up menu for a button, the user has to click again to dismiss it. The entire runloop is on hold as I believe the pop-up menu is modal. How do I go about being able to send a [somePopUpMenu cancelTracking] when the user moves to the next button? Cheers

  I have an webbrowser control on my form. I am able display html files in that control. But my page contains some images if i give absolute path to it then images are displayed. But if i give relative path then images are not shown in the pages. I have HtmlPages folder located at bin folder. And i am assigning FileStream source = new FileStream(@"..\HtmlPages\supportHtml.html", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); webBrowser.DocumentStream = source; If i assign D:\myapp\bin\HtmlPages\file.png then there is no problem. My images are stored in same folder. If i open html files with webbrowser then images are displayed. What is the correct path to set ??

  I am using Perl to read UTF-16LE files in Windows 7. If I read in an ascii file with following code: open CUR_FILE, "<", $asciiFile; Then each "\r\n" in file will be converted into a "\n" in memory; if I read in an UTF-16LE(windows 1200) file with following code: open CUR_FILE, "<:encoding(UTF-16LE)", $utf16leFile; Then "\r\n" will keep unchanged. This inconsistency cause problems when I trying to regexp lines with line breaks. My questions is: Is this how unicode works in Perl & Windows? Or Am I using the wrong code? Thanks so much!

  We have a sharepoint based application that uses a custom database for storing metadata/files (which could also be on a file share) My question is how can the standard file checkin/check out option in document library be customized? The javascript file ows.js in the layouts folder contains the functions that provide checkin/check out/ open file functionality. Behind the scenes it relies on a combination of HTTP Post/GET methods + SOAP + an activeX control to achieve the desired functionality. Customizing these javascript function seems tedious/error prone. Note that we have a web service that exposes endpoints, for retrieving necessary file information/data from the backend. The difficulty is in integrating it with the sharepoint js functions, due to lack of proper documentation. (Also the js functions might change over different versions of sharepoint) Also is it possible to create files/open files etc from the cache area on the client machine from server side code?

  We have a Spring MVC web app (WAR) deploying to Tomcat (6.0.35) that launches a thread inside a separate JVM at deploy time (don't ask why - not my design) and then communicates with that thread via RMI over port 8888. • Preserve time stamp when shrinking an image

  My digital camera takes pictures with a very high resolution, and I have a PIL script to shrink them to 800x600 (or 600x800). However, it would be nice for the resultant file to retain the original timestamp. I noticed in the docs that I can use a File object instead of a name in PIL's image save method, but I don't know if that will help or not.
