  Hi, I've application to open popup window to print page. function printHTML(urlPath) { var printPopUp = window.open(urlPath,null,"height=600,width=777,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,scrollbars=yes"); printPopUp.print(); } This script is working fine in IE, but in firefox/chrome. print() function is overlapping window.open, as a result print dialog is showing first while screen is still loading. I need to close print dialog in order to render page properly then print manually. Please advise.

• ASP.NET website not working properly in mobile

  I have created a simple app with a page having a server side form, three fields and a button that submits and performs two operations - 1) adds the form fields to the database table 2) sends an email. Now everything works fine on the web browser on my machine but when I access the app through my mobile, the page does not seem to work. the UI and all are set but the button click functionality doesnt seem to be working and also the label which is set after a successful submit is already visible and showing the "thank you" message. Am i doing something wrong here? I have checked the app on Nokia Smartphone browser, android phone, and iphone simulator.

  I am trying to install php on my windows 7 machine. I have installed IIS 6.x and I have also installed php. I used this tutorial http://blogs.iis.net/bills/archive/2006/09/19/How-to-install-PHP-on-IIS7-_2800_RC1_2900_.aspx The only thing I didnt understand is this part: 4) Install IIS7, making sure you install the ISAPI Extension component (for PHP-ISAPI - which is what I use) or the CGI component (if you prefer CGI) during IIS installation (ISAPI and CGI are not installed by default) Now when i go to localhost I get an error.   I recently installed cache-money. After some difficulties getting memcached and cache-money set up, I thought I had it working. It cached the one query on my login page fine. I login, and go to my message index page and get this error: indices delegated to @cache_config.indices, but @cache_config is nil: Slug(id: integer, name: string, sluggable_id: integer, sequence: integer, sluggable_type: string, scope: string, created_at: datetime) Searching for the first part of that error message returns 0 hits on Google, so I'm at a loss on where to even begin. Any suggestions?

• jQueryUI Ajax.NET Postback Bug

  Hi, I have this ASP.NET page with ASP.NET UpdatePanel and jQueryUI droppable and sortable components. The page works fine in all browsers, but doesn't in Internet Explorer (IE8 tested). After I try to call ASP.NET AJAX event (by pressing my asp.net button inside the UpdatePanel) my sortable list stops working properly inside IE browser and the browser throws the following error: Message: Unspecified error. Line: 145 Char: 186 Code: 0 URI: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js I found out that the problem is caused by the code on line 66: $("#droppable").droppable(); If I comment it out, the sortable list works fine after ajax postbacks. But it doesn't make sense. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks. P.S. I am using jQueryUI 1.8.1 and jQuery 1.4.2

• Asp.net Response.Redirect Error

  My team and I are working on a portal applicaiton. When a user requests a page, we get a page object (contianing permissions, actual file to use and what not). We then do a Response.Redirect to "~/Default.aspx". The crazy thing is that when the code to validate access and what not is called from a button click event from within an ajax update panel, response.redirect is pasting a "&f2" or a "/" into the url. So rather than http://localhost/Default.aspx, the webbrowser is being redirected to http://localhost/%f2Default.aspx, and is subsequently returning a 404 error. HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("~/Default.aspx", false); Anyone have an idea of why this would occur? And it only happens when the click event fires inside an update panel.

  I have several 'it' blocks in my selenium test file (using Ruby and rspec) that test various portions of my web application. Each 'it' block stops executing and goes to the next 'it' block if any of the conditions or code fails. Is there a way to run an 'it' block only if the previous fails or call a function to react to the failed test? Is there a better way to accomplish what I am wanting to do that doesn't involve an 'it' block?   Hey, I've been building a silverlight application and a WCF service for a while now and recently tried to host them in IIS7. I installed IIS7 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and added these two application to my default website. I am having a number of problems so im hoping one of you can help out... 1) The silverlight and WCF service applications do not work with pass-through authentication. I need to "connect as" the administrator server account when setting up the application. I read online that you should only need to use the "connect as" field when you are connecting to another computer. If i dont supply the admin credentials i get this error. Do i have to set up permissions somewhere else? HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.   I am using a dropdown list as follows. <%=Html.DropDownList("ddl", ViewData["Available"] as SelectList, new { CssClass = "input-config", onchange = "this.form.submit();" })%> On its selection change I am invoking post action. After the post the same page is shown on which this drop down is present. I want to know about the HTML attribute for the drop down which will let me preserve the list selection change. But as of now the list shows its first element after the post. e.g. The dropdoen contains elements like 1,2,3,etc. By default 1 is selected. If I select 2, the post is invoked and the same page is shown again but my selection 2 goes and 1 is selected again. How can preserve the selection? Thanks, Kapil

  I just installed the gem for will_paginate and it says that it was installed successfully. I followed all the instructions listed with the plugin and I am getting an 'undefined method `paginate' for' error. Can't find much in the way of Google search and haven't been able to fix it myself (obviously).   Hi, I found several solutions for creating Flash LSOs from JavaScript (for example: http://www.nuff-respec.com/technology/cross-browser-cookies-with-flash ) If Page (www.hostA.com/index.html) and the .swf file are from the same site, everything works fine. No I'm trying to load the page form www.hostA.com/index.html, which includes www.hostB.com/flashcookie.swf (different sites). But then I cannot read or store the LSO. I have tried several configurations (crossdomain.xml, Security.allowDomain("...") ), but nothing works. Is this kind of cross domain access to a LSO possible? Thanks -stephan

  I'm using the Uploadify jQuery control for client-side uploads. I think my IIS 7 configuration has issues with it. The uploadify POST immediately returns a HTTP 1.1 302 Found, back to my login page. I've tried to allow anonymous access to the uploading section(subfolder) plus the page(script) that processes the image in the web.config, using the location node(configuration ... location). Seems like the Uploadify post is immediately blocked. Again, this worked fine just using Visual Studio 2008, but when I run the site on the same machine I get the redirect. Your thoughts/ideas are very welcomed!

  Hi, I am a newbie in this Silverlight Databinding subject. I am starting to understand how cool is this declaratively way of data binding. To try it out, I have this listbox in my Page.xaml: <ListBox Height="100" Name="lbCategories" Width="236" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="20,0,0,0" SelectionMode="Multiple" ItemsSource="{Binding Categories}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" /> In my Page.xaml.cs I have a public property called Categories of the type ObservableCollection. It works if this following line is present in my CS file: DataContext = this; But I want to avoid any programatically databinding. I would like to set the DataContext to "this" in my ListBox element declarativelly. Is there any way of doing that? Thanks, Oscar

• How to Get JSF 2.0 Working with Eclipse 3.5 and JBoss 5.1

  I am running Eclipse 3.5 and JBoss 5.1. I want to create a JSF 2.0 project. I heard here that the Eclipse JBoss Tools plugin version 3.1 (available here) could do this for me. I have installed the plugin. However, if I go to the Project Facets properties page for a Dynamic Web Project, I only see Facets for JavaServer Faces 1.1 and 1.2. My Java facet is set at 6.0, and my Dynamic Web Module to 2.5. In the Targeted Runtimes properties page, I see that I am targeting the JBoss 5.1 Runtime. I understand that Eclipse Helios will be here next week, but I'm curious if its possible to get JSF 2.0 working with 3.5. Any thoughts?

• Ajax comments form in ASP.NET MVC2, howto?

  I've been playing around with different aspects of MVC for some time now, and I've reached a situation where I'm not sure what would be the best way to solve a problem. I'm hoping that the SO community will help me out here :P I've seen a number of examples of Ajax.BeginForm on the internet, and it seems like a very nifty idea. E.g. you have a dropdown where you select a customer - and on selecting one it will load this client's details in some placeholder on the page. This works perfectly fine. But what to do if you want to tie in some validation in the box? Just hypothetically, imagine an article page, and user comments in the bottom. Below the comments area there's an ajax-y "Add comment" box. When a user adds a comment, it will appear in the comments area, below the last comment there. If I set the Ajax.BeginForm to Append the result of the call to the Comments area, it will work fine. But what if the data posted is not valid? Instead of appending a "successful" comment to the comments area I have to show the user validation errors. At this point I decided that the area INSIDE the Ajax.BeginForm will be inside a partial, and the form's submits will return this partial. Validation works fine. On each submit we reload the contents inside the form element. But how to add the successful comment to the top? Other things to consider: The comment form also has a "Preview" button. When the user clicks on Preview, I should load the rendered comment into a preview box. This will probably be inside the form area as well. I was thinking of using Json results instead. When the user submits the form, the server code will generate a Json object with a Success value, and html rendered partials as some properties. Something like { "success": true, "form": "<html form data>", "comment": "successful comment html to inject into the page" } This would be a perfect solution, except there's no way in MVC to render a partial into a string, inside the controller (separation of context, remember?). So.. what should I do then? Any "correct" way to implement this? Anyone???

• Javascript to handle manipulating url anchor for bookmarking

  Hello, I'd like to use the anchor part of the url (after the #) so that my page can have ajax/dhtml but still be able to have bookmarks work properly. I'm wondering is someone can help me get started on writing some javascript code for this. I'm using jQuery, but if the solution's a generic one, that's fine too. For my page, I could have settings like: "a" could be a number from 10-50 "b" is a 0 or 1 "c" is a 0 or 1 etc... I'd like some tips on writing optimized javascript code which could both parse and set something like #a=23&b=0&c=1 Also, I'd like to keep my url as short as possible, so if the default of "a" was 23, in the example above, the a=23 would be omitted. Is there a library that does all this stuff already?

• ASP.NET login control - can I add the FailureText as an item in a ValidationSummary?

  I'm currently working with the ASP.NET login control. I can set a custom failure text and I can add a literal on the page where the failure text is displayed if the login fails. I also have a validation summary on the page in which I collect all errors that can occur (for the moment it just validates that the user has entered a login name and a password. It would be really nice if I could add the failure text of the login control as an item in the validation summary, but I'm not sure if this is even possible? Hoping that the massive brainpower of stackoverflow can give me some pointers? Thanks! /Thomas Kahn PS. I'm coding in C#.
