  Hi EveryOne Beginner in Flex ...Even worse with item renderers... Have managed to add a Combobox to a datagrid using a itemEditor... I want to change the options in a combo box depending on the value selected by the user on a previous combo.. In the combo box i want to display a certain value (Model Name ) but for quering a table i'll pass the corresponding code of the model :(... sounds simple enough ..unfortunately not able to implement it I have found this problem on this site but the solution seems an overkill for my "small" problem..was hoping if anyone could guide me towards a more simpler solution... • Using Qtcreator (with Qwt), really basic stuff

  I'm trying to make a Qt program using Qtcreator and Qwt for plotting. I've never used Qtcreator before. I've created a mainwindow and added a Qwtplot widget there (object name: qwtPlot). The widget shows up in the program when I compile and run it. But theres no mention of the qwtPlot object anywhere in the (autogenerated) code so I assume it is being added at compile time from the .ui xml file (or something). My question is that... how do I modify/change the qwtPlot object? Or where should I place the code. I'm having a hard time articulating my question but the question basically is "How do I do anything with the qwtPlot widget which is created (graphically) with Qtcreator?". I've checked some tutorials but in the tutorials they add the widgets manually in the code, but I'd like to use Qtcreator (because my UI will be fairly complicated). This whole Qtcreator is pretty confusing...

• Codeigniter Routes for filename with extension

  I am using codeigniter and its routes system successfully with some lovely regexp, however I have come unstuck on what should be an easy peasy thing in the system. I want to include a bunch of search engine related files (for Google webmaster etc.) plus the robots.txt file, all in a controller. So, I have create the controller and updated the routes file and don't seem to be able to get it working with these files. Here's a snip from my routes file: $route['robots\.txt|LiveSearchSiteAuth\.xml'] = 'search_controller/files'; Within the function I use the URI helper to figure out which content to show. Now I can't get this to match, which points to my regexp being wrong. I'm sure this is a really obvious one but its late and my caffeine tank is empty :)

• Can I use the whatthetrend.com API to get daily and weekly twitter trends?

  The twitter API allows me to receive daily trends and weekly trends (in addition to current trends, of course) as either JSON or XML. Is there an equivalent with the whatthetrend.com API? I don't see a method/parameter at first glance but I wanted to see if anyone out there knew a way... http://api.whatthetrend.com/api There's a method to lookup trend definition by keyword so I guess I could use that based off the Twitter API but I'd rather just load all the data at once rather than have to remotely access the API every time I want to look up a definition.   Hi all, I am using the latest Eclipse for Java EE & the latest JBoss Tools plugin. Now, I am working on some EJB 2.x code. I cannot find a way to generate the xdoclet-build.xml file like before. After some investigations, I begin to ask myself (and you) that is XDoclet still supported by the community: JBoss, Eclipse (WTP), etc. ? If yes, what is now the good way to use XDoclet to generate my old-style EJB Homes & Interfaces? Can XDoclet work using Java 5 style code? Thanks Alban.

  Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my IL code here? IL_0000: nop IL_0001: ldarg.1 IL_0002: isinst MyXmlWriter IL_0007: stloc.0 IL_0008: ldloc.0 IL_0009: ldarg.2 IL_000a: ldind.ref IL_000b: unbox.any TestEnum IL_0010: ldfld Int64 value__/FastSerializer.TestEnum IL_0015: callvirt Void WriteValue(Int64)/System.Xml.XmlWriter IL_001a: nop IL_001b: ret I'm going crazy here, since I've written a test app which does the same thing as above, but in C#, and in reflector the IL code from that looks just like my DynamicMethod's IL code above (except my test C# app uses a TestStruct with a public field instead of the private value field on the enum above, but I have skipVisibility set to true)... I get a NullReferenceException. My DynamicMethod's signature is: public delegate void DynamicWrite(IMyXmlWriter writer, ref object value, MyContract contract); And I'm definitely not passing in anything null. Thanks in advance!

• Definitive best practice for injecting, manipulating AJAX data

  Ever since my foray into AJAX, I've always used the "whatever works" method of manipulating AJAX data returns. I'd like to know what the definitive and modern best practice is for handling data. Is it best practice to generate the HTML via the server script and introduce the returned data on the onComplete function? Should XML/JSON be looked at first before anything? How about manipulating the returned data? Using .live() doesn't seem like it is the most efficient way. I've never seen a definitive answer to this question. Your expertise is much appreciated.

  Hi all, I'm looking for a way to automate the deployment of a custom CAS policy in SharePoint. What i would like to achieve is the following: All assemblies that have been built and signed by our build server (with a secret key) should run in SharePoint under the 'higher than normal' trust level. Now I can manually edit the cas policy files to include something like this: <CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="MyPermissionSet" Name="[My Company public key]" Description="Grants all "> <IMembershipCondition class="StrongNameMembershipCondition" version="1" PublicKeyBlob="[public key goes here]" /> </CodeGroup> And that works great. • Maven eclipse does not add a dependency

  I have the following snippet in my pom.xml <dependency> <groupId>aspectj</groupId> <artifactId>aspectjrt</artifactId> <version>1.5.3</version> </dependency> and in one of my Java files I refer a class org.aspectj.lang.ProceedingJoinPoint. When I do a "mvn clean install" it compiles and builds fine but when I do an eclipse:eclipse, and import the project in eclipse it gives me an error The import org.aspectj cannot be resolved. I checked the .classpath file that was generated and it does not have an entry to this file. I tried a "mvn dependency:tree" and it lists this fine. Can someone tell me what is going wrong here?

  I use log4j as logger for my web application. in log4j, I can set the level log in log4j properties or log4j.xml. in log4j, we instance logger as follows: static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SomeClass.class); I init log4j basic configurator in a servlet file using init method. But, I usually test application using JUnit, So I init the basic configurator in setup method. after that, I test the application, and I can see the log. Because I deployed, the web in websphere. I change all of logging instance become: private Log log = LogFactory.getLog(Foo.class); I don't know how to load basic configurator using ACL. so I can't control debug level to my JUnit test. do you have any suggestion, without changing static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SomeClass.class); become static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SomeClass.class);

• Appengine not liking my .jspx files

  I have a little app that runs fine on local dev appengine, but appengine itself is not processing my .jspx files. The jspx files are in WEB-INF so they should not be excluded by appengine (as a static resource) I am using Apache Tiles to define my views.   Create custom component which contains Combobox and Datagrid. Application conations two button 1) Same Window and 2) New Window. (Label of two button) When you click on “Same Window” button your custom component should get added dynamically in your application. And when you click on “New Window” button your custom component should get open in different window (it should get shifted from application and should appear in Window component). Issue faced:- Clicking on Combobox, list is not getting open as change event doesn’t get fired in Native Window as it looses reference from main application. Issue with DataGrid in Native window (AIR). • DataGridEvent.COLUMN_STRETCH event get affected if try to open datagrid in Native Window. • DataGridEvent get fired but takes long time or even stuck while column stretch Note: Application is an Desktop Application. Only one instance is created in Application for your custom component to preserve current state on your custom component it can be Style, data, or other subcomponent state of your custom component (as above mentioned 2 component are just sample). • Using the Antenna and J2ME Polish preprocessors interchangeably and setting a variable value

  I have J2ME code, which I want to be able to compile using the J2ME Polish preprocessor or the wtkpreprocessor (antenna). They mostly use the same directives so it usually works, but ... When I want to insert an URL value in the Java code this gives a problem. • Crystal report - Conversion from text to decimal ?

  I have a crystal report, which takes data from an XML template. For a particular field of report, say 'Cost' the database stored procedure send data to XSD file in decimal format , but when the crystal report displays data picking from XSD, it is rounded off. When i right click on other data fields of report, I can see 'Field:table1.columnname',. But when i click on 'Cost' field, it shows 'Text:'. To my understanding, this is a text field which is mapped to pick data from XSD and since the type is text, it gives result in text hence truncating the decimal. Please suggest how can I get decimals here. P.S: This code was created by someone else, so i have no idea on what they had set at that time. I have to fix it and i have no clue about it.

• Adobe Flex, loading a remote swf

  I have a flex app running on my server. I have had a request from some clients to have the swf loaded on their server, so that their customers dont have to be transferred to my server to login; i.e. from the user's point of view it looks like they are logging in from theirsite.com instead of mysite.com I tried something really simple, and that was to give them a html wrapper to host on their site. The only modification that I made was to change the "src" var to: "src", "https://www.mysite.com/app/myapp.swf" and embed src="https://www.mysite.com/app/myapp.swf" To my surprise, this worked perfectly. And best of all, the service calls still seem to come from mysite.com, so I dont have to bother with modifying the crossdomain.xml file. All good it seems. Are there any issues or downsides to the above that I should be aware of?

  Hi, I have 2 swf file, one file is loading fine in SWFLoader in Air application but another is not loading, i dont know why its happening. differents between two file :- For ex: Swf1 is Main swf .(it has dependency file like xml to read and render) swf2 is Sub swf(which will load (or called) inside swf1 in run time) . When try to load swf2 in flex3 air application using SWFLoader its working fine, but swf1 is not loading. Swf1 is working fine individually in flash player 9. But i need to load SWF1 only. • Hibernate and stored procedures

  As my understanding on setting hibernate, I need to create table meta data file (person.hbm.xml), include all the fields mapping java object (person.java) If we use stored procedures for all transaction, do we still need the above configuration? It seems hibernate and stored procedures will overlap, We set up the stored procedure because we don't want the to developer know all the field in db. If tables change, then we need update above files. Does it mean if we purely use stored procedure, we should just go for JDBC? If hibernate, we should stay in HQL?

  Im looking for a (free) solution to a bookingcalender. Among many candidates Ive found the Jquery Full Calender which has many cool features. One of the reason that I like this one is because it has "drag and drop" and resize, which I also need. But I also need to have the dayview where I the columms monday, tuesday, wedensday, thursday friday .... gets replaced with fx. Room1, Room2, Room3, Room4, Room5, Room6, Room7. • Page Rendering occurs blank page because of Old Cookie

  Hi! I am developing application using J2EE (JSF,RichFaces, Jetty/Glashfish). Sometimes when I click on some link I get nothing returned to the browser at all (blank page). But when i refresh the page all contents appears in page. After some trail and error i found that it is cookies problem: It happens bez some old cookie not deleted by browser so this problem occurs. We also change web.xml file: but it creates more problem it doesn't maintain the session in application. Please friends if you have any suggestion on this problem help us.
