• How to troubleshoot down terminal service/CITRIX sessions, when the process just won't terminate?

  Running a CITRIX presentation server farm, version 4.5.6 on Windows 2003 sp2. In the CITRIX Access Management Console, I sometimes get a session that shows it's in a down state - but has none of the normal info associated with it (user name, applications, client name, idle time, etc...). It does say which servers it's on, so I check out that server's terminal services manager. I can see the down session but cannot reset it. I get: (Error 7024 - the requested operation cannot be completed because the terminal connection is currently busy processing a connect, disconnect, reset, or delete operation.) So I go to the task manager and look up the processes running under that session id. I see it's one of my published apps, but when I try to end the process - it simply does nothing and the process remains. Any way to get rid of these sessions without a server reboot?

• How do I POST/GET from rails to API with Nestful?

  Hi, this is a pretty basic question but I'm not entirely clear how to do this. I am trying to use a third-party service that has web-based service. The service is called Postful. But I'm not clear what exactly to do? I've looked at ActiveResource (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveResource/Base.html) and rest-client, but I'm still not clear exactly what steps, code, and files to create. • A function where small changes in input always result in large changes in output

  I would like an algorithm for a function that takes n integers and returns one integer. For small changes in the input, the resulting integer should vary greatly. Even though I've taken a number of courses in math, I have not used that knowledge very much and now I need some help... An important property of this function should be that if it is used with coordinate pairs as input and the result is plotted (as a grayscale value for example) on an image, any repeating patterns should only be visible if the image is very big. I have experimented with various algorithms for pseudo-random numbers with little success and finally it struck me that md5 almost meets my criteria, except that it is not for numbers (at least not from what I know). That resulted in something like this Python prototype (for n = 2, it could easily be changed to take a list of integers of course): import hashlib def uniqnum(x, y): return int(hashlib.md5(str(x) + ',' + str(y)).hexdigest()[-6:], 16) But obviously it feels wrong to go over strings when both input and output are integers. What would be a good replacement for this implementation (in pseudo-code, python, or whatever language)?

• Copying files within a Workgroup

  I have three boxes operating in a Windows Server workgroup within a closed network. (No Domain / No AD) There are several derivations of the scenario that I'm about to outline, but I'm sure I will be able to retool the solution as and when I need. Essentially the boxes are: 2 x Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Standard 1 x Windows Server 2000 Standard I need to be able to schedule the copying/and-or/moving of files from various directories and each of the boxes. Each box has a different username and password for the administrator. I have PowerShell 2.0 on the two Win2K8 boxes (obviously). Previously I have used mapped network drives to copy the files, and cmd line batches, but I'd much rather use Powershell if possible (with Shares and/or $ notation). However the Copy-Item cmdlet doesn't seem to be processing the Credential correctly. Perhaps some Powershell gurus out there might be able to help me. Essentially I'd like to schedule a PS run of script to push backup files onto my WIn2k box (old fileserver) periodically.

  I'm having an issue comparing UIColors. I have an image, which I have successfully extracted the color on the image at which the user clicked. Now I want to compare that color with other colors, but I'm getting some strange results. • CSS3 Gradients and border-radius leading to extraneous background in webkit

  Hello all, After my 1st question with relation to CSS3 gradients in which I was recreating an 'inner glow' I've now got to the point where I'm not so happy with the way in which webkit renders the effect. Basically, if you give an element a background colour and apply a border radius to it, webkit lets the background colour "bleed" out to fill the surrounding box (making it look a bit awful) To reproduce the undesirable effect, try something like the following section#featured footer p a { color: rgb(255,255,255); text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.6); text-decoration: none; padding: 5px 10px; border-radius: 15px; -moz-border-radius: 15px; -webkit-border-radius: 15px; background: rgb(98,99,100); -moz-box-shadow: inset 0 0 8px rgba(0,0,0, 0.25); -webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 0 8px rgba(0,0,0, 0.25); } You can see an example of this here: http://iamfriendly.clients.friendlygp.com/ Apparently this appears to be a Windows-only problem, so for those on a Mac, here's a screenshot: (Check the 'carry on reading' button) You'll notice that in Safari/Chrome (the latest available public downloads as well as the latest nightlies as far as I can tell), you get a rather ugly background colour bleed. However, in Firefox, you should be able to see what I'm after. If you're in Internet Explorer, woe betide you. Does anyone know of a technique which will allow me to produce the 'correct' effect? Is there a CSS Property which I've missed that tells webkit to only have the background within the border-radius'd part of the containing box. I could potentially use an image, but I'm really trying to avoid it. Naturally, as we're dealing with CSS3 and the landscape is continually changing, I might just have to 'lump' it and revert to an image. However, if anyone can suggest an alternative I would be very much appreciative!

  When I click a command button, and then hit the browser back button to the form and click it again, it submits a second time without throwing the proper exception... Even stranger, the form id itself is DIFFERENT when I come back, which implies it has regenerated a "valid" form id at some point. To date I've been using RLIKE queries to return 3 types of results (files, directories and everything). Same goes for the /.comments and all such meta data will always be in the same format: /.[sometext] I'd hoped to use this feature extensively throughout my application, so I'm hoping there might be a very simple answer. • CSS / jQuery Vertically and Horizontally Center DIV

The following test works fine in IE, but in Firefox I get a weird flickering affect when hovering over the thumbnail image. • What is meant by the terms CPU, Core, Die and Package?

  Now this might sound like too many previous questions, but I am really confused about these terms. I was trying to understand how "dual core" is different from "Core 2 Duo", and I came across some answers. For example, this answer states: Core 2 Duo has two cores inside a single physical package and dual core is 2 cpu in a package 2 cpu's in a die = 2 cpu's made together 2 cpu's in package = 2 cpu's on small board or linked in some way Now, is a core different from a CPU? What I understand is there is something that does all the heavy computation, decision making, math and other stuff (aka "processing") is called a CPU. Now what is a Core? And what is a processor when somebody says he has got a Core 2 Duo? And in this context what is a Package and what is a Die? I still don't understand the difference between Core 2 Duo and Dual Core. And can somebody explain hyper-threading (symmetric multi-threading) too if they are super generous?

• Delphi - Populate an imagelist with icons at runtime 'destroys' transparency

  Hi again, I've spended hours for this (simple) one and don't find a solution :/ I'm using D7 and the TImageList. The ImageList is assigned to a toolbar. When I populate the ImageList at designtime, the icons (with partial transparency) are looking fine. But I need to populate it at runtime, and when I do this the icons are looking pretty shitty - complete loose of the partial transparency. I just tried to load the icons from a .res file - with the same result. I've tried third party image lists also without success. I have no clue what I could do :/ Thanks 2 all ;) edit: To be honest I dont know exactly whats going on. Alpha blending is the correkt term... Here are 2 screenies: Icon added at designtime: Icon added at runtime: Your comment that alpha blending is not supported just brought the solution: I've edited the image in an editor and removed the "alpha blended" pixels - and now it looks fine. But its still strange that the icons look other when added at runtime instead of designtime. If you (or somebody else ;) can explain it, I would be happy ;) thanks for you support!

You can probably derive from the error that I am just trying to convert a ruby variable to java using to_java. This works fine on my windows machine and I have confirmed the gems are the same but I don't think this has to do with gems. I lied. I changed my JAVA_HOME back on my windows machine and this error still occurs. So now the code doesn't run on either machine. I recently installed git on my windows machine and added the code to a repository. But I haven't really done anything with it. All it said was it will convert all LF to CRLF...That shouldn't change anything though should it? Any ideas on why I am now getting these errors? I haven't changed anything on my windows machine in months except for installing git.

  Hi, I posted a similar problem but it could not be resolved. I create a relational database of users and groups but for some reason I cannot insert test data with fixtures properly. • why is the <img> alt attribute not always properly displayed

  So I have this php script that output an html table with data about some files (like filename, filesize, etc...) I have this javascript function that displays the picture when you hover a tag belonging to the class "preview". For example, if a filename is: somePic.jpg, when you hover somePic.jpg in the table, the picture will appear next to your mouse. Now not all these files are pictures, some are .mp3, so of course when you hover them, the javascript cannot display the picture. To deal with this case, I added in the tag (generated by the javascript function), an alt attribute: alt='Preview not available for this type of content.' And here is my problem, sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn't! Sometimes you start hovering .mp3 links, and the alt attribute is displayed, then you hover a picture, the picture is displayed, then you hover an .mp3 again, and the alt isn't displayed anymore, but the "broken image" image (the little red cross) is displayed instead... Sure I could parse the filenames and detect when it's an mp3 and then deal with the case, but I thought the alt attribute was suppose to achieve this... but it's buggy... Any idea? Does anyone already faced this problem?

If i turn off "display:table-cell;" style in Firebug and then turn it back on, it fixes that menu node. any ideas? p.s.: i don't want to mess with the menu itself, since it's a part of a DNN Forum 4.4.3. I'd rather fix the CSS to make it show correctly.

I can make other changes in my own test page and those are reflected for other classes in the datepicker. So, I'm not having any kind of path issue to the .js or .css files. What am I missing here? • jasper Chart can't be displayed using tomcat

  Hi, I am using jasperreports-3.5.0 to generate timeSeries chart. When I run it through eclipse it is working fine. But if I create .war file of project and run through tomcat by deploying the project into tomcat / webapps folder then chart can not be displayed. • Connection from Apache to Tomcat via mod_jk not working

  I would like to connect apache to tomcat via mod_jk (same machine). • Letter placement error with GD2, TTF and PHP

  Some time ago I made a script that takes some text and returns it as an image, and worked flawlessly. But I'm not sure since when a weird bug started to happen. The letters that have a (my apologies to the font geeks) "glyph" on the left get pushed to the right so the letter starts on it, but leaves space only for the main letter, hehe, I think an example should do it. • How to get the "real" colors when exporting a GDI drawing to bmp

  Hi guys I'm developing a ASP.Net web handler that returns images making a in-memory System.Windows.Forms.Control and then exports the rendered control as a bitmap compressed to PNG, using the method DrawToBitmap(). The classes are fully working by now, except for a problem with the color assignment. By example, this is a Gauge generated by the web handler. The colors assigned to the inner parts of the gauge are red (#FF0000), yellow (#FFFF00) and green (#00FF00) but I only get a dully version of each color (#CB100F for red, #CCB70D for yellow and #04D50D for green). The background is a bmp file containing the color gradient. The color loss happens whether the background is a gradient as the sample, a black canvas, a white canvas, a transparent canvas, even when there is not a background set. With black background With transparent background With a white background Without a background set With pixel format in Format32bppArgb I've tried multiple bitmap color deeps, output formats, compression level, etc. but none of them seems to work. Any ideas? • MySQL-python 1.2.3 and OS X 10.5: 64- or 32-bit?

  I've been happily using Django and MySQL in development on an existing machine running OS X 10.4 Tiger, and have set up a similar environment in 10.5 Leopard on a new 64-bit MacBook, with a working MySQL and Python 2.6.4. However, now I want them to communicate, easy_install MySQL-python gave ld warnings that the file is not of the required architecture, which led me to test my Python 2.4.6 install (from the Mac OS X disc image): >>> import sys >>> sys.maxint 2147483647 Ah. So my Python install appears to be 32-bit and (I think?) won't install MySQL-python for my 64-bit MySQL. There are lots of hacks out there for MySQL-python on OS X (mostly 1.2.2), but - after hours of reading - I'm pretty sure they won't fix this architecture mismatch. So I'm stuck because I can't decide whether to: give up, remove the 64-bit MySQL install (thorough methods, please?) and use the 32-bit MySQL disc image instead; re-install Python in 64-bit mode from the tarball, --with-universal archs-64-bit and --enable-universalsdk= as detailed in Python.org's 2.6 news. So my questions for anyone who has encountered this issue are: Is installing 64-bit Python on OS X 10.5 worth bothering with? If so, (naive, lazy question!) how are the two required arguments combined? If I just skip along in 32-bit (as on my working setup) what am I missing? I'm after a hassle-free install that's easy to reproduce on other machines (possible student use) so I'd really welcome your opinions, please!

  Hi, This is karthik. I am developing an app using mapview in iphone. I have to use two different pins to show user locations. That two users are different type . One user is belong to some category and another one is some other category. I have to check that category and want to plot pin depend upon that category. When I try to do that, that pin is not showing properly. For a certain category it shows another pin, not what i set there. Can anyone help me? What i need is i want to load two different pins in map depend upon some category. For example , if that category is shopping mall then i have to show building image then if there is any garden i have to show some other image at a same time not one by one . I want to plot two pins with different category at the same time. For that,what could i do? I tried lot of solution , but its not showing properly. Help me?
