• errors deploying an EAR with EJBs 2.1 into JBoss AS5

  Hi, I'm porting an application with EJBs 2.1 from Weblogic9 to JBoss AS5. I have made some of the changes like adding jboss.xml descriptors to EJBs and fixing application.xml of the EAR, but there are still problems when deploying the EAR. Here is a summary of the the latest error I'm getting when the first EJB is being deployed by JBoss (I will add the full stack trace at the end of the message): 14:15:48,124 ERROR [AbstractKernelController] Error installing to Parse: name=vf sfile:/C:/Marina/Tools/jboss-5.1.0.GA/server/default/deploy/contracts.ear/ state =Not Installed mode=Manual requiredState=Parse org.jboss.deployers.spi.DeploymentException: Error creating managed object for v fsfile:/C:/Marina/Tools/jboss-5.1.0.GA/server/default/deploy/contracts.ear/admin -ejb.jar/ .... Is this a problem with parsing the jboss_2_4.dtd itself? or is it something worng with my descriptors for the EJB? When I try to validate the jboss_2_4.dtd in an XML editor it does complain about a syntax error at line 94:1 , which is the beginning of the first declaration, although it looks fine. Any ideas? • Asp.net Google Charts SSL handler for GeoMap

  Hi All, I am trying to view Google charts in a site using SSL. Google Charts do not support SSL so if we use the standard charts, we get warning messages. My plan is to create a ASHX handler that is co9ntained in the secure site that will retrieve the content from Google and serve this to the page the user is viewing. Using VS 2008 SP1 and the included web server, my idea works perfectly for both Firefox and IE 8 & 9(Preview) and I am able to see my geomap displayed on my page as it should be. But my problem is when I publish to IIS7 the page using my handler to generate the geomap works in Firefox but not IE(every version). There are no errors anywhere or in any log files, but when i right click in IE in the area where the map should be displayed, I see the message in the context menu saying "movie not loaded" Below is the code from my handler and the aspx page. I have disabled compression in my web.config. Even in IE I am hitting all my break points and when I use the IE9 Developer tools, the web page is correctly generated with all the correct code, url's and references. If you have any better ways to accomplish this or how i can fix my problem, I will appreciate it. • Adding a JPanel to another JPanel having TableLayout

  I am trying to develop a map editor in java. My map window receives as a constructor a Map object. From that map object i am able to retrieve the Grid and every item in the grid along with other getters and setters. The problem is that even though the Mapping extends JComponent, when I place it in a panel it is not painted. I have overridden the paint method to satisfy my needs. • NServiceBus pipeline with Distributors

  I'm building a processing pipeline with NServiceBus but I'm having trouble with the configuration of the distributors in order to make each step in the process scalable. Here's some info: The pipeline will have a master process that says "OK, time to start" for a WorkItem, which will then start a process like a flowchart. Each step in the flowchart may be computationally expensive, so I want the ability to scale out each step. This tells me that each step needs a Distributor. I want to be able to hook additional activities onto events later. This tells me I need to Publish() messages when it is done, not Send() them. A process may need to branch based on a condition. This tells me that a process must be able to publish more than one type of message. A process may need to join forks. I imagine I should use Sagas for this. Hopefully these assumptions are good otherwise I'm in more trouble than I thought. For the sake of simplicity, let's forget about forking or joining and consider a simple pipeline, with Step A followed by Step B, and ending with Step C. Each step gets its own distributor and can have many nodes processing messages. NodeA workers contain a IHandleMessages processor, and publish EventA NodeB workers contain a IHandleMessages processor, and publish Event B NodeC workers contain a IHandleMessages processor, and then the pipeline is complete. There are basically 2 things that might happen: Both instances of Node B report that it is subscribing to EventA, and also that NodeC.Distrib.Data@MYCOMPUTER is subscribing to the EventB that Node B publishes. In this case, everything works great. Both instances of Node B report that it is subscribing to EventA, however, one worker says NodeC.Distrib.Data@MYCOMPUTER is subscribing TWICE, while the other worker does not mention it. In the second case, which seem to be controlled only by the way the distributor routes the subscription messages, if the "overachiever" node processes an EventA, all is well. If the "underachiever" processes EventA, then the publish of EventB has no subscribers and the workflow dies. So, my questions: Is this kind of setup possible? Is the configuration correct? It's hard to find any examples of configuration with distributors beyond a simple one-level publisher/2-worker setup. Would it make more sense to have one central broker process that does all the non-computationally-intensive traffic cop operations, and only sends messages to processes behind distributors when the task is long-running and must be load balanced? Then the load-balanced nodes could simply reply back to the central broker, which seems easier. On the other hand, that seems at odds with the decentralization that is NServiceBus's strength. And if this is the answer, and the long running process's done event is a reply, how do you keep the Publish that enables later extensibility on published events?

When I click on the RouteLink in the partial InactiveUsers view, it should bring me to the reset password page with a url that looks like this: http://localhost:83/ControlPanel/changeUserPassword/[email protected], HOWEVER, what happens when I click on the RouteLink is an error is thrown to say that the view changeUserPassword cannot be found, and the URL looks like this: http://localhost:83/ControlPanel/changeUserPassword/example1%40gmail.com - See how the '@' symbol gets messed up? I've also debugged through the code, and in my GET changeUserPassword, the username is populating correctly: [email protected], so I'm thinking it's just the URL that's messing it up? If I type in the URL manually, the changeUserPassword view displays, however the password reset function does not work. An 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' exception is thrown at the if (mu.ChangePassword(mu.ResetPassword(), password)) line. I think if I could solve the first issue (URL '@' symbol problem) it might help me along with my second issue. • Two-way databinding of a custom templated asp.net control

  I hate long code snippets and I'm sorry about this one, but it turns out that this asp.net stuff can't get much shorter and it's so specific that I haven't been able to generalize it without a full code listing. I just want simple two-way, declarative, edit-only databinding to a single instance of an object. Not a list of objects of a type with a bunch of NotImplementedExceptions for Add, Delete, and Select, but just a single view-state persisted object. This is certainly something that can be done but I've struggled with an implementation for years. This newest, closest implementation was inspired by this article from 4-Guys-From-Rolla. Unfortunately, after implementing, I'm getting the following error and I don't know what I'm missing: System.InvalidOperationException: Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control. If I don't use Bind(), and only use Eval() functionality, it works. In that way, the error is especially confusing. Update: Actually, using Eval() does NOT work, but using <%# Container.SampleString %> works. However, Eval("SampleString") gives the same error. That leads me back to this article I found earlier but had discarded. Now I believe it might be related, though I haven't cracked it yet ... • setIncludesSubentities: in an NSFetchRequest is broken for entities across multiple persistent store

  Prior art which doesn't quite address this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1774359/core-data-migration-error-message-model-does-not-contain-configuration-xyz I have narrowed this down to a specific issue. It takes a minute to set up, though; please bear with me. The gist of the issue is that a persistentStoreCoordinator (apparently) cannot preserve the part of an object graph where a managedObject is marked as a subentity of another when they are stored in different files. Here goes... 1) I have 2 xcdatamodel files, each containing a single entity. In runtime, when the managed object model is constructed, I manually define one entity as subentity of another using setSubentities:. This is because defining subentities across multiple files in the editor is not supported yet. I then return the complete model with modelByMergingModels. //Works! [mainEntity setSubentities:canvasEntities]; NSLog(@"confirm %@ is super for %@", [[[canvasEntities lastObject] superentity] name], [[canvasEntities lastObject] name]); //Output: "confirm Note is super for Browser" 2) I have modified the persistentStoreCoordinator method so that it sets a different store for each entity. If I change the entity of the request using setEntity: to the entity for 'Note', all notes are fetched. If I change it to the entity for 'Browser', all the browsers are fetched. Let me reiterate that during the run in which an object is first inserted into the context, it will appear in the list. It is only after save and relaunch that a fetch request fails to traverse the hierarchy. Therefore, I can only conclude that it is the storage of the inheritance that is the problem. Let's recap why: - Both entities can be created, inserted into the context, and viewed, so the model is working - Both entities can be fetched with a single request, so the inheritance is working - I can confirm that the files are being stored separately and objects are going into their appropriate stores, so saving is working - Launching the app with either entity set for the request works, so retrieval from the store is working - This also means that traversing different stores with the request is working - By using a single store instead of multiple, the problem goes away completely, so creating, storing, fetching, viewing etc is working correctly. This leaves only one culprit (to my mind): the inheritance I'm setting with setSubentities: is effective only for objects creating during the session. Either objects/entities are being stored stripped of the inheritance info, or entity inheritance as defined programmatically only applies to new instances, or both. Either of these is unacceptable. Either it's a bug or I am way, way off course. I have been at this every which way for two days; any insight is greatly appreciated. The current workaround - just using a single store - works completely, except it won't be future-proof in the event that I remove one of the models from the app etc. It also boggles the mind because I can't see why you would have all this infrastructure for storing across multiple stores and for setting affected stores in fetch requests if it by core definition (of setSubentities:) doesn't work.

  How to get reference count for an object Is it possible to determine if a javascript object has multiple references to it? Or if it has references besides the one I'm accessing it with? Or even just to get the reference count itself? Can I find this information from javascript itself, or will I need to keep track of my own reference counters. Obviously, there must be at least one reference to it for my code access the object. But what I want to know is if there are any other references to it, or if my code is the only place it is accessed. I'd like to be able to delete the object if nothing else is referencing it. • C# Generic Arrays and math operations on it

  Hello, I'm currently involved in a project where I have very large image volumes. This volumes have to processed very fast (adding, subtracting, thresholding, and so on). Additionally most of the volume are so large that they event don't fit into the memory of the system. For that reason I have created an abstract volume class (VoxelVolume) that host the volume and image data and overloads the operators so that it's possible to perform the regular mathematical operations on volumes. Thereby two more questions opened up which I will put into stackoverflow into two additional threads. Here is my first question. My volume is implemented in a way that it only can contain float array data, but most of the containing data is from an UInt16 image source. Only operations on the volume can create float array images. When I started implementing such a volume the class looked like following: public abstract class VoxelVolume<T> { ... } but then I realized that overloading the operators or return values would get more complicated. An example would be: public abstract class VoxelVolume<T> { ... public static VoxelVolume<T> Import<T>(param string[] files) { } } also adding two overloading operators would be more complicated: ... public static VoxelVolume<T> operator+(VoxelVolume<T> A, VoxelVolume<T> B) { ... } Let's assume I can overcome the problems described above, nevertheless I have different types of arrays that contain the image data. Since I have fixed my type in the volumes to float the is no problem and I can do an unsafe operation when adding the contents of two image volume arrays. I have read a few threads here and had a look around the web, but found no real good explanation of what to do when I want to add two arrays of different types in a fast way. Unfortunately every math operation on generics is not possible, since C# is not able to calculate the size of the underlying data type. Of course there might by a way around this problem by using C++/CLR, but currently everything I have done so far, runs in 32bit and 64bit without having to do a thing. Switching to C++/CLR seemed to me (pleased correct me if I'm wrong) that I'm bound to a certain platform (32bit) and I have to compile two assemblies when I let the application run on another platform (64bit). Is this true? So asked shortly: How is it possible to add two arrays of two different types in a fast way. Is it true that the developers of C# haven't thought about this. Switching to a different language (C# - C++) seems not to be an option. I realize that simply performing this operation float []A = new float[]{1,2,3}; byte []B = new byte[]{1,2,3}; float []C = A+B; is not possible and unnecessary although it would be nice if it would work. • Getting a NullPointerException at seemingly random intervals, not sure why

  I'm running an example from a Kinect library for Processing (http://www.shiffman.net/2010/11/14/kinect-and-processing/) and sometimes get a NullPointerException pointing to this line: int rawDepth = depth[offset]; The depth array is created in this line: int[] depth = kinect.getRawDepth(); I'm not exactly sure what a NullPointerException is, and much googling hasn't really helped. It seems odd to me that the code compiles 70% of the time and returns the error unpredictably. Could the hardware itself be affecting it? • How do I use texture-mapping in a simple ray tracer?

  I am attempting to add features to a ray tracer in C++. Namely, I am trying to add texture mapping to the spheres. For simplicity, I am using an array to store the texture data. I obtained the texture data by using a hex editor and copying the correct byte values into an array in my code. This was just for my testing purposes. When the values of this array correspond to an image that is simply red, it appears to work close to what is expected except there is no shading. The bottom right of the image shows what a correct sphere should look like. This sphere's colour using one set colour, not a texture map. Another problem is that when the texture map is of something other than just one colour pixels, it turns white. My test image is a picture of water, and when it maps, it shows only one ring of bluish pixels surrounding the white colour.   I'm writing a diagram editor in java. This app has the option to export to various standard image formats such as .jpg, .png etc. When the user clicks File-Export, you get a JFileChooser which has a number of FileFilters in it, for .jpg, .png etc. Now here is my question: Is there a way to have the extension of the default adjust to the selected file filter? E.g. if the document is named "lolcat" then the default option should be "lolcat.png" when the png filter is selected, and when the user selects the jpg file filter, the default should change to "lolcat.jpg" automatically. Is this possible? How can I do it? edit: Based on the answer below, I wrote some code. But it doesn't quite work yet. I've added a propertyChangeListener to the FILE_FILTER_CHANGED_PROPERTY, but it seems that within this method getSelectedFile() returns null.   I have used the Ajax AsyncFileUpload.I have three field. 1.Name 2.Asynchronous File Upload 3.Description 4.Save buttton when I click on Save new Record created.after creating new record when i enter all above details except select the Asynchronous File Upload.However when i click on Save button the Asynchronous File Upload contains the before Asynchronous upload File Name inspite of i didnt select the File from File Upload...How its possible getting confused.. • modalpopupextender.Show() wont fire

  I'm pretty new to developing for the web so bare with me. I have a company page with multiple locations and emails etc at each of these addresses. The idea is to have a single modalpopup to edit each type of data (one for email, one for urls, one for addresses etc). I link the modalpopupextender to a hiddenbutton and then call an edit function from various places where I can populate some hiddenfields and textboxes in the panel before showing it.
