  • Where can I find an ADOExpress tutorial?

    - by mawg
I'm using Delphi 7, totally new to database programming, and need ODBC. I am told that ADOExpress is a good way to go, and that seems fair enough as it comes with Delphi 7. I need to programatically create, populate, modify and query a database (currently MySql, but that might change, hence ODBC). Can anyone recommend a good tutorial? Thanks.

    - by user1834348
I have table similar to this: 102938 bob 038128 Marc 398401 Tom 298421 Jim 102938 Alex 102938 Junior 209381 Rex 398401 Oby I want to make sometthing like =sumif(A:A, 102938,B:B) and to get "bobAlexJunior" as result. But this is not working becouse sum works with numbers not strings. If i go with lookup, it works with strings but finds only first line, not all lines. Do you have an Idea on how to fix this issue? Thanx

    - by Jacques Bosch
I have a few programming articles I would like to write, but I do not have a site of my own - yet ;). Is there a site that is specifically geared toward technical / programming topics, with great functionality and style? Or will I have to go with things like wordpress or blogspot? • Convert Office Documents without Office

    - by Benny
We are in need of converting all MS Office documents to PDF, TIF, or any similar image format with no loss in formatting (these are official documents that cannot have tampering). Is there any way to do this without installing Office on the machine that would do this? Ideally, this would go on a server and run multi-threaded without the overhead of Office Automation. Thanks in advance!

  • Setting processor to 32-bit mode

    - by dboarman-FissureStudios
It seems that the following is a common method given in many tutorials on switching a processor from 16-bit to 32-bit: mov eax, cr0 ; set bit 0 in CR0-go to pmode or eax, 1 mov cr0, eax Why wouldn't I simply do the following: or cr0, 1 Is there something I'm missing? Possibly the only thing I can think of is that I cannot perform an operation like this on the cr0 register.

  • How can I securely check if a username is already taken?

    - by Geo
I have a form where someone can create a new user. I'd like to add some AJAX to check if a username is taken, as soon as the input field loses focus. I'm not really sure how to go about this, as this could pave the way to bruteforce attack, since you could check for any username and see whether or not it exists. Any suggestions?
