  Hello, I have a file that can contain from 3 to 4 columns of numerical values which are separated by comma. Empty fields are defined with the exception when they are at the end of the row: 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,,5 1,2,3 The following table was created in MySQL: +-------+--------+------+-----+---------+-------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +-------+--------+------+-----+---------+-------+ | one | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | two | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | three | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | four | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | five | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | +-------+--------+------+-----+---------+-------+ I am trying to load the data using MySQL LOAD command: load data infile '/tmp/testdata.txt' into table moo fields terminated by "," lines terminated by "\n"; The resulting table: +------+------+-------+------+------+ | one | two | three | four | five | +------+------+-------+------+------+ | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 0 | 0 | | 1 | 2 | 3 | NULL | NULL | +------+------+-------+------+------+ The problem lies with the fact that when a field is empty in the raw data and is not defined, MySQL for some reason does not use the columns default value (which is NULL) and uses zero. NULL is used correctly when the field is missing alltogether. Unfortunately, I have to be able to distinguish between NULL and 0 at this stage so any help would be appreciated. Thanks S.

  I have a text file with integer values. each row contains information about specific object. But unfortunately each row has different number of column. because of which when i try to use file_content = load('txtfile.txt'); it gives me error message that previous number of columns does not match. i also tried to use fgetl, fscanf, etc function but was unsuccessful. Can anybody give me a piece of code, or help me how to read a txt file and save in matrix in matlab.   Hi all, I'm a bit new to Javascript and am trying to create a delimited string from a textare. The problem is when passing in the textarea, it adds newlines for each row on the textarea. I need to have the entire textarea parsed into a string with a delimiter for each line (replacing the newline char). So for example, if you passed in a textarea with the following lines (which is also how it looks when using the alert function): abcd efgh ijkl It would look like: abcd-efgh-ijkl after parsing. function submitToForm(form) { var param_textarea = form.listofplugins.value; var test = param_textarea.replace(/\\r?\\n/, /:/) alert(test); } Thanks a lot!

• preg_replace only replaces first occurrence then skips to next line

  Got a problem where preg_replace only replaces the first match it finds then jumps to the next line and skips the remaining parts on the same line that I also want to be replaced. What I do is that I read a CSS file that sometimes have multiple "url(media/pic.gif)" on a row and replace "media/pic.gif" (the file is then saved as a copy with the replaced parts). The content of the CSS file is put into the variable $resource_content: $resource_content = preg_replace('#(url\((\'|")?)(.*)((\'|")?\))#i', '${1}'.url::base(FALSE).'${3}'.'${4}', $resource_content); Does anyone know a solution for why it only replaces the first match per line?

  Q:i have a general problem ,,when i wanna to do some thing and i find the jquery file which can do exactly what i wanna to do .. after a while i need another case and i find that another jquery file serve me and fix my problem .. after i add set of jquery files i find conflicts among those files and some features does not work or work in awkward manner ..and when i try to find which file exactly the source for those problems i find myself in closed circle cannot modify this file or cannot delete this file or cannot find that file itself at all ..sometimes the file like this:: <script src="http://jqueryjs.googlecode.com/files/jquery-1.3.js" type="text/javascript"></script> cannot modify it.. the problem has many faces ,, and i cannot really know how to handle the whole matter from the beginning... can any one give me instructions ,, advices,, notes, or explanation to prevent the problem from the beginning and how to fix it if it was happened..

• CakePHP: Ajax view problem (nothing in the view showing)

  I created a function in my controller called addToPlaylist($songName). I wanted to add these song names to an array and then a session variable using an Ajax call. The first time i did this i got an error saying i do not have a template file to display in the chosen div ("add_to_playlist.ctp was missing"). I created this file and everything seemed to be working correctly. Basically I went to bed woke up and it is broken (it is possible I changed something before I went to bed). The problem now is that it does not show anything when i click the ajax link. when i click on the ajax link it seems to call the function but nothing displays in the view (except debug info) even when i delete the view (add_to_playlist.ctp) i get no errors, I just see debug info now.

  I've a webpage with one text-box and one button. Click on button will show a popup for searching. On popup page,has 2 buttons, "Search" and "Close". Input the text and click Search, the result will display on a list on this popup, click on a row will close the popup and fill the value to text-box on main-page. On Destop browser, it works fine On Safari on iPad, it will open new tab instead of a popup but work fine. UIWebview in my app, on main-page, click the button, I will go to Search page, but when click Search button and close button, nothing happened, I know because 2 buttons will close the popup or the tab, but I don't know how to handle on my Webview, and also I can fill data to main-page or not?   Hi, I am having some headaches regarding method chaining for a quite simple PHP class that returns a value, which sometimes need to go through a decryption process: $dataset = new Datacontainer; $key = $dataset->get('key'); $key2 = $dataset->get('key')->decrypt(); The get method is where the return lives. So the call to the decrypt method on the second row isn't going to work in its current state. Can I do something to setup the get method to return only when nothing is chained to it, or what would be the best way to re-factor this code?

• How can I revert a 'draggable' upon failed AJAX request?

  I have a draggable div, that needs to be dropped on a droppable. If it is dropped correctly, the droppable calls an AJAX request. If the draggable does not have a valid id or the AJAX request fails, the draggable should be reverted to it's original position. Is that something that can be done with jQuery?!   Hello, I have a single user table and I'm trying to come up with a query that returns the total count of all users grouped by date along with the total count of users grouped by date who are of a specific client. • MEMORY(HEAP) vs. InnoDB in a Read and Write Environment

  I want to program a real-time application using MySQL. It needs a small table (less than 10000 rows) that will be under heavy read (scan) and write (update and some insert/delete) load. I am really speaking of 10000 updates or selects per second. These statements will be executed on only a few (less than 10) open mysql connections. The table is small and does not contain any data that needs to be stored on disk. So I ask which is faster: InnoDB or MEMORY (HEAP)? My thoughts are: Both engines will probably serve SELECTs directly from memory, as even InnoDB will cache the whole table. What about the UPDATEs? (innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit?) My main concern is the locking behavior: InnoDB row lock vs. MEMORY table lock. Will this present the bottleneck in the MEMORY implementation? Thanks for your thoughts!

  Hello, Currently I have a a text file with data at the first row is formatted as follow: time;wave height 1;wave height 2;....... I have column until wave height 19 and rows total 4000 rows. Data in the first column is time in second. From 2nd column onwards, it is wave height elevation which is in meter. I would like to plot the follow: ![alt text][1] on the x axis is time. the left hand side is wave height in m and on the right hand side is the distance between each measurment in a model. inside the graph there are 4 plots, each plot is repersent waveight 1, wave height 2etc at a defined distance related to the right hand side y asix. How would you code this in matlab? I am a begineer, please if you could, it will be very useful to give a bit more explain in your answer! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

• How can I loop over a query for a specific number of times that may be greater than the result?

  I need to loop over a query exactly 12 times to complete rows in a form but rarely will the query return 12 rows. The cfquery endRow attribute doesn't force the loop to keep going if the result is < 12. If it did that would be ideal to use something like cfloop query="myQuery" endRow="12"... The 2 options that I have now are to skip the loop and write out all 12 rows but that results in a lot of duplicate code (there are 20 columns), or do a query of queries for each row which seems like a lot of wasted processing. If I add or delete any row to the DataSet then new data will occur in dridview, BUT filter will not work with new data. As I found on the forums there is a Table cash, which .NET uses for filter and I want to refresh it. How can I do it?

Now I want to loop through first each row, and then each cell, printing out the contents of each cell. • European signs in img src problem

  Hey. I recently encountered a strange problem on my website. Images with æ ø and å in them (Western European signs) Won't display. The character encoding on all sites is "Iso-8859-1" I can print æ ø and å on the page without problems. If I right click the "broken image" and choose properties, it displays the filename with the european signs. (/admin/content/galleri/å.jpg) the code for img looks like this <img name='bilde' src='content/{$_SESSION["linkname"]}/{$row["img"]}' class='topmargin_ss leftmargin_ms rightmargin_s' width='80' height='80'> (Wasn't allowed to post images so the code is without starting and ending brackets) Made 4 files: z.jpg æ.jpg ø.jpg å.jpg Only z.jpg shows up, they are the exact same jpg. The images are uploaded using php code, which works, uploads to the right directory and has no problem with the european signs. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

• How can I use MVC ideas without using classes?

  As of right now, I am still shaky on classes, so I don't want to use any classes for my site. I'm still practicing with classes. But how can I implement the MVC idea without classes? Would this work for a MVC? index.php (the view) index_controller.php index_model.php Is this right for what a MVC should be? View: show html, css, forms Controller: get $_POST from forms and any data from the user, get info from db Model: do all the functions, insert/delete in db, etc Basically separate the HTML/css for the view, all the data collecting for the controller, and the logic for the model. And just connect them all using require_once.
