  • Delphi 6: How to search a dynamic array for sub-string quickly?

    - by Robert Oschler
How can I search a dynamic array of char in Delphi 6 for a sub-string and get back an index to a match, not a pointer? I've seen functions in Delphi 6 that do this for strings but not for dynamic char arrays. There is a function called SearchBuf but that function returns a PChar pointer to the match location when what I need is the array index of the match. Thanks.

  • Shared(Static) classes with events in C#

    - by diamandiev
Here is an example of what i would do in vb: Public Class Class1 Public Shared WithEvents Something As New EventClass Public Shared Sub DoStuff() Handles Something.Test End Sub End Class Public Class EventClass Public Event Test() End Class Now how do i do this in c#. I know there is not handles clause in c# so i need some function that is called and assign the event handlers there. However since its a shared class there is no constructor i must put it somewhere outside of a function. Any ideas?

  • jQuery: Need to "refresh" a widget.

    - by Legend
I am adapting the Coverflow technique to work with a div. The coverflow function (included as a js file in the head section) is here. When I dynamically add a DIV, it doesn't show up in the coverflow. I am wondering if there is a way to add a destroy function to this js file so that whenever a new div add is added, I can call the destroy method and then reinstantiate. Any suggestions on how I should go about doing this?

  • Finding the position of the max element

    - by Faken
Is there a standard function that returns the position(not value) of the max element of an array of values? For example: say i have an array like this: sampleArray = [1, 5, 2, 9, 4, 6, 3] I want a function that returns the integer of 3 that tells me that sampleArray[3] is the largest value in the array.

  • Passing variables from PHP to Javascript back to PHP using Ajax.

    - by ObjectiveJ
I hope this makes sesne, please bare with me. So I have a PHP page that contains variables, I have some radial boxes, and on click of them, it calculates a price for the item you have clicked on. I do this by activating a js function that I have passed some variables to. Like so. PHP: <?php $result = mssql_query("SELECT * FROM Segments ORDER BY 'Squares'"); if (!$result) { echo 'query failed'; exit; } while ($row = mssql_fetch_array($result)) { ?> <span><?php echo $row["Squares"]; ?></span><input name="squares" type="radio" onclick="ajaxCases('<?php echo $row["Squares"]; ?>', '<?php echo $row["StartCaseID"]; ?>', '<?php echo $row["StartMatrixPrice"]; ?>')" value="<?php echo $row["Squares"]; ?>"<?php if ($row["Squares"] == "1") { ?> checked="checked" <?php }else{ ?> checked="" <?php } ?>/> <?php } ?> As you can see onclick it goes to a function called ajaxcases, this function looks like this. function ajaxCases(squares, start, price){ $('#step1').html('<p style="margin:100px 0px 0px 100px"><img src="images/ajax-loader-bigindic.gif" width="32" height="32" alt="" /></p>'); $('#step1').load("ajax-styles.php?squares="+squares); prevId1 = ""; document.varsForm.caseid.value=start; $('#step1price').html('<span style="margin:0px 0px 0px 30px"><img src="images/ajax-loader-price.gif" width="24" height="24" alt="" /></span>'); $('#step1price').load("ajax-step1-price.php?Squares="+Squares); return true; } This then goes to a php page called ajax-step1-price.php and I try to recall the variable Squares. However it doesn't work, I thought it was a GET however that returns undefined. In Summary: I would like to know how to pass a variable from PHP to JS then back to PHP, or if someone could just tell me where I am going wrong that would be greatly appreciated.

  • â?? in my hmtl after purify

    - by mmcgrail
    I have a database the i am rebuilding the table structure was crap so I'm porting some of the data from one table to another. This data appears to have been copy past from MSO product so as I'm getting the data I clean it up with htmlpurifier and some alittle str_replace in php here the clean function function clean_html($html) { $config = HTMLPurifier_Config::createDefault(); $config->set('AutoFormat','RemoveEmpty',true); $config->set('HTML','AllowedAttributes','href,src'); $config->set('HTML','AllowedElements','p,em,strong,a,ul,li,ol,img'); $purifier = new HTMLPurifier($config); $html = $purifier->purify($html); $html = str_replace('&nbsp;',' ',$html); $html = str_replace("\r",'',$html); $html = str_replace("\n",'',$html); $html = str_replace("\t",'',$html); $html = str_replace(' ',' ',$html); $html = str_replace('<p> </p>','',$html); $html = str_replace(chr(160),' ',$html); return trim($html); } but when I put the results into my new table and out put them to the ckeditor I get those three characters. I then have a javascript function that is called to remove special characters from the content of the ckeditor too. it doesn't clean it either function remove_special(str) { var rExps=[ /[\xC0-\xC2]/g, /[\xE0-\xE2]/g, /[\xC8-\xCA]/g, /[\xE8-\xEB]/g, /[\xCC-\xCE]/g, /[\xEC-\xEE]/g, /[\xD2-\xD4]/g, /[\xF2-\xF4]/g, /[\xD9-\xDB]/g, /[\xF9-\xFB]/g, /\xD1/,/\xF1/g, "/[\u00a0|\u1680|[\u2000-\u2009]|u200a|\u200b|\u2028|\u2029|\u202f|\u205f|\u3000|\xa0]/g", /\u000b/g,'/[\u180e|\u000c]/g', /\u2013/g, /\u2014/g, /\xa9/g,/\xae/g,/\xb7/g,/\u2018/g,/\u2019/g,/\u201c/g,/\u201d/g,/\u2026/g]; var repChar=['A','a','E','e','I','i','O','o','U','u','N','n',' ','\t','','-','--','(c)','(r)','*',"'","'",'"','"','...']; for(var i=0; i<rExps.length; i++) { str=str.replace(rExps[i],repChar[i]); } for (var x = 0; x < str.length; x++) { charcode = str.charCodeAt(x); if ((charcode < 32 || charcode > 126) && charcode !=10 && charcode != 13) { str = str.replace(str.charAt(x), ""); } } return str; } Does anyone know off hand what I need to do to get rid of them. I think they may be some sort of quote

  • How to correct the objection about dymanic Object type by FlexPMD?

    - by sanjoy roy
I have the code in one of my flex file used as labelFunction in a DataGrid. When I run the FlexPMD to do the code review , it generates objection about the dynamic type object used in method signature "public function getFormattedCreatedTime(item:Object, column:DataGridColumn):String", it suggests to use strongly type object. Does anyone how to rectify it? public function getFormattedCreatedTime(item:Object, column:DataGridColumn):String { var value:Date=item[column.dataField]; return dateFormatter.format(value); } ]] Thanks

  • Does variable = null set it for garbage collection

    - by manyxcxi
Help me settle a dispute with a coworker: Does setting a variable or collection to null in Java aid in garbage collection and reducing memory usage? If I have a long running program and each function may be iteratively called (potentially thousands of times): Does setting all the variables in it to null before returning a value to the parent function help reduce heap size/memory usage?

  • What is the meaning of method class in the class definition in Ruby?

    - by Steven Xu
I'm familiar with function definitions and variable declarations being in class definitions: public class MyClass { public int myvar; public void doSomething() { } } But what does it "mean" in Ruby when a method is actually called in the class definition? This happens amply in Rails, for instance: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :posts end What exactly does this do (at a lower level than "it adds some methods to the class")? How would I implement such a function (e.g., one that mixes in some additional methods)?

  • typeof for html plugin elements

    - by gf
When using ECMAScripts typeof on plugin elements (i.e. embed or object), Safari & FireFox return "function": typeof(window.document['myPlugin']) // "function" This can't be influenced on the plugin side, as the browser doesn't call the plugin here. Funny enough, in IE the same line evaluates to "object". Is that simply implementation dependent behaviour as per ECMAScript §11.4.3 or am i missing something here?
