I understand that calling the home page index.html is a convention. Is that right ?
Does this name has any special meaning (maybe for search engines) ?
Hi,
how do you prepare i18n in your websites? I mean what do you do avoid the situation when you search for i18ned websites in Polish you get English description cause English is the default one.

Hey Guys,
I'm at my wits end here , I normally like to work things out on my own but this has me well and truly beaten here..
I'm trying to mod rewrite my urls that contain pluses...
/search.php?q=can+be+any+length
to
/can-be-any-length.html
Any help would be really appreciated becaus rewriting the + php is not an option
I want to my make a search-statement and query things like this
select * from table where col like '%vkvk%'
But with trial and error I've come to the conclusion that access doesn't work with LIKE or
wildcard operators. Does anybody have some other solutions because I ain't so in to access actually, so I really don't know.
We use Captcha control in a registration form that we make full client validation for all fields in JavaScript ( JQuery ) beside server validation ..
I tried a lot of ways but all will write the Captcha value in JavaScript that can be accessed by anyone :(
I search if is there any way that allow me validate Captcha value in client side using JQuery in secure way or it can't be done ?
Hello,
I have a CSV file which is about 1GB big and contains about 50million rows of data, I am wondering is it better to keep it as a CSV file or store it as some form of a database. I don't know a great deal about MySQL to argue for why I should use it or another database framework over just keeping it as a CSV file. I am basically doing a Breadth-First Search with this dataset, so once I get the initial "seed" set the 50million I use this as the first values in my queue.
Thanks,
I have in my url patterns,
urlpatterns += patterns('',
(r'^(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve',
{'document_root': '/home/tipu/Dropbox/dev/workspace/search/images'})
In my template when I do
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{{ MEDIA_URL }}style.css" />
It serves the css just fine. But the file logo.png, that's in the same directory as style.css, doesn't show when I do this:
<img src = "{{ MEDIA_URL }}logo.png" id = "logo" />
Any idea why?
In Adobe Flex / Actionscript 3, I would love to pretty print my JSON data to a TextArea. Any libraries out there? A decent search turned up no results. Thanks!
I need an algorithm written in any language to find an image inside of an image, including at different scales. Does anyone know a starting point to solving a problem like this?
For example:
I have an image of 800x600 and in that image is a yellow ball measuring 180 pixels in circumference. I need to be able to find this image with a search pattern of a yellow ball having a circumference of 15 pixels.
Thanks
I want to redirect from a old url which still appears in the google search to the new one. the old url is this:
http://www.marionettecolla.org/file%20_mostra_milano/mostra_marionette-milano.htm
and I want to redirect it to the home page:
http://www.marionettecolla.org/
I used this in my .htaccess:
Redirect http://marionettecolla.org/file\ _mostra_milano/mostra_marionette-milano.htm http://marionettecolla.org/
but I am getting Error 500... Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I was wondering, is there some type of disc ID i can use to search in my database to see if that disc is has been scanned or not? All disc were created by me typically burnt on windows.
-edit- I could compare write time and volume label to see if the disc has been scanned but i notice if i put in certain commercial disc that fields are blank or wrong causing many false positives (i once had the time set to the future, i dont know if people want to archive the contents of files on a commercial disc in my app).
Seems like making a website CSS/XHTML/Web 2.0 compliant and highly search-engine optimized is as simple as nesting each and everything inside UL/LI tags. Is there a genuine reason for web designers/developers to use UL and LI tags even when it does not make any sense?
Why Methode LinkedList.contains() runs quickly than such implementation:
for (String s : list)
if (s.equals(element))
return true;
return false;
I don't see great difference between this to implementations(i consider that search objects aren't nulls), same iterator and equals operation
I have list of urls of types:
http://www.abc.com/pk/etc
http://www.abc.com/pk/etc/
http://www.abc.com/pk/etc/etc
where etc can be anything.
So I want to search only those urls that contains www.abc.com/pk/etc or www.abc.com/pk/etc/
There is a string method called Contains. It allows you to quickly search a string for another string. I need to use this in a .netcf 2.0 application but per MSDN it does not come available until the 3.5 framework.
Can anyone offer a work around (C#)?
TIA
Noble
I'm looking for something similar in form to weighted.mean(). Sorry for posting such a banal question... new to R. I've found some solutions via search that write out the entire function but would appreciate something a bit more user friendly.
I am executing the following SQL statement on an indexed SQL Server 2008 R2 database.
SELECT * FROM mydatabase WHERE (CONTAINS(ColumnA,'"The Apple is red"'))
The problem is that it returns too many entries. It also returns entries where 'ColumnA' contains only one of the words ('Apple' or 'is' or 'red'...) and not only the entries which contains the exact phrase.
According to MSDN this should be the way to search for a phrase.
Thanks

The Extjs API site adds a new tab for each search you do.
The tabs each have a red X on them to close the tab similar to what browsers have.
Check it out here:
I'd like to replicate this and it seems like something that would be built-in to the API, but cannot find it.
Any ideas?
I want to search through all classes in a namespace for those containing a certain method. If a class contains a method then I want to create an instance of the class and run the method.
Obviously I have to start with reflection but I'm stuck on where to go.
I'm writing a page that does very simple search queries, resulting in something like:
SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE A in (a1, a2, a3) AND B in (b1, b2) AND C in (c1, c2, c3, c4) AND
And so on for a variable number of columns, usually ~5. If I create a separate index for each column (one for A, one for B, one for C, not (A,B,C)), will all of them be used in the above query?
I'm currently profiling an implementation of binary search. Using some special instructions to measure this I noticed that the code has about a 20% misprediction rate. I'm curious if there is any way to check how many cycles I'm potentially losing due to this. It's a MIPS based architecture.
